OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LadyBee · 19/05/2009 21:57

yes, I'm hoping that's it. Am about to make him feel even worse tomorrow then, we're up for our MMR appt then. I feel oddly pleased that the appointment is a wednesday so I can be the one to take him. Hope he doesn't feel to horrid after. Poor Roelof - but B's bum was also v sore and I'm pretty convinced it's teething related, he always gets a bit more rashy, some dodgy nappies etc when he's also jamming his hands in his mouth.

SalLikesCoffee · 19/05/2009 22:04

Hope B's MMR's not too bad. Weirdly enough this is the jab that he has had least after effects from! I'm really relieved, as I had an internal struggle re the single vs combined jabs issue. Still a little grumpy etc, but able to handle it a lot better than the earlier baby ones.

Soph73 · 20/05/2009 11:52

Morning all. We're feeling a lot more relieved this morning the urologist (sp?) had a good check over DH and couldn't find anything at all. He has referred him for a scan though just to be on the safe side so we shall wait for a phone call. Typical really as DH said he could feel it yesterday but not this morning. However, better to be on the safe side. Apparently he's supposed to keep his testicles raised .... how on earth do you raise testicles???? Mini scaffolding, walk on your hands ... bizarre And no sex for 2 weeks and when we do do it it's got to be "rapido" ... not on our bed matey, we'd end up in the living room You gotta laugh!

Soph73 · 20/05/2009 11:54

Hope all your LO's MMR's go OK. Sam had a really sore bum just before his teeth came through. He now has the 2 at the bottom and I think (fingers crossed) one of his top ones is coming through as well.

Peachy · 20/05/2009 13:43

Phew Soph! LOL at rapido sex.

have been to GP today, have a collapsed foot arch. His suggestion? stop bf , as i refused he refused referral to Physio and I had to pay for my own supports; half a weeks carers allowance, bastard(the rationale was I should take anti inflammaories but they never have worked in 20 years)

ScorpiowithabigS · 20/05/2009 13:48

Peachy - oh yes, i see how your breasts are to do with your feet Knobber

Soph - LOL @ Rapido. I have rediscovered my sex drive wahoo! Poor DH was feeling very sorry for himself.

Peachy i love your idea of extra christmas, maybe DH will shut up then. November sounds good as its Z birthday the day after mine and it could be a birthday/xmas party, plus DH would see him before dc4 comes. Christmas just sounds like a nightmare to me - can you imagine giving birth, having the other 3 home cos its holidays, BF, night waking, and then your little brat stepson comes down to turn things upside down?? No way.

His poor mum really must need a rest. It must be hard not working, your P not working, and being pg with one 7 year old at school all day. My heart bleeds.

Soph73 · 20/05/2009 13:48

Was just wondering how on earth stopping bfing helped with collapsed arches - then I saw the anti-inflammatory bit! Still a bit though and just because you refused he shouldn't have stopped referral. I hope you're going to complain bitterly.

ScorpiowithabigS · 20/05/2009 13:49

Maybe Peachy has huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge norks and they weigh so much her feet gave in

Soph73 · 20/05/2009 13:52

Scorpio I'll get my violin out shall I ..... NOT! Definitely go for the extra Christmas. Is DH feeling better?

Soph73 · 20/05/2009 13:53

D'ya know Scorpio I was just thinking the same thing ... great minds and all that

ScorpiowithabigS · 20/05/2009 13:54

oh yes he has recovered from the deadly starin of man flu

Peachy · 20/05/2009 13:59

No its my stomach thats so huge not my norks

So i still have a bit of weight to lose...... PMSL

Tis ackcherloi becuase my bloody sister broke my foot years back so i walk funny on that foot, that was shortly after the broken arm incident. Yet she tells everyone how I was the awful sister coz I used to borrow her clothes and musin

Soph73 · 20/05/2009 14:04

Poor you Peachy. You and your sister are close then

Peachy · 20/05/2009 14:10

Absolutely, very, we're the complete opposite in every way (we do have another sis that we both get on with OK).

She's a nursery manager who hates kids and is currently petitioning for chidlrens centres to be closed so privayte nurseries can maximise income, those kids (IE mine) who cant go to mainstream? buya nanny

Mysister is like Xenia's evil twin

ScorpiowithabigS · 20/05/2009 14:14

Well one of my sisters is a princess (think Paris hilton), the other is a tearaway and has stolen cars etc.

Soph73 · 20/05/2009 14:31

How can you be a nursery manager and hate kids - hey ho! Then again, saying that, my Library's full of hormonal teenagers who are currently sitting their IGCSE's and I can't stand the little buggers darlings

Peachy · 20/05/2009 14:40

LOL

sje emphasises themanager bit and the paycheque

she married the male version of herself s its just sensible toavoid; dh and bil get on Ok but I think they think of us as awful LOL

VictorianSqualor · 20/05/2009 14:49

Do not talk to me about nursery managers!

Or parents actually.

Child comes in today with 'a spot or two' (mum's words - she's a dragon anyway, took 5 hours to get hold of her the other day to see if we could give son calpol, and she NEVER picks up when they're ill). I change him an hour later, he's covered all over his tummy, and they're just starting to appear on his legs. Chickenpox.

Will managers ring parent? No. Will mum come and get him if they do? No.

Apparently chickenpox aren't contagious when spots have come out so I've come home and printed off the NHS sheet which says they ARE contagious until scabbed over. Thanks mate, give the whole nursery the pox eh?

VictorianSqualor · 20/05/2009 14:50

In fact, does you sister work in Oxford?

OP posts:
Peachy · 20/05/2009 14:52

No LOL, sticks to scumsville where we were born, easier to have a superiority complex there

I almost amrried her DH's mate, such a relief I didn't, i'd have been driven to distraction by posk nobs with entitlements complexes. Just claiming for a moat? Why not have the portcullis as well old boy.....

EllieG · 20/05/2009 14:53

I am a little bit hurty from laughing at peachy's norks...sorry that came out the wrong way but you know what I mean...

soph - very glad Mr Soph is OK hon

sal and ladybee - Molly doing same. BIG crying at night sometimes. I think is combination of teeth and slight insecurity. Her bum was also raw, horrible, came up in the worst nappy rash in a morning, looked like she had been burnt. Cotten wool and water and buckets of sudocream did the trick. Night times I did lots of nice bedtime routine and cuddles and firm but kind in the night. We are still working on it but last night was much better!

Soph73 · 20/05/2009 16:08

VS - bloody hell, I thought everyone nowadays realised that chickenpox was contagious until scabbed over. Some parents ... you wonder why some people bother having children if they're not prepared to look after them ... aarrrggghh, things like that REALLY annoy me. We do have the same problems here as well, it must be worldwide

Soph73 · 20/05/2009 16:08

Thanks Ellie Am smiling at images of you laughing at Peachy's norks

LadyBee · 20/05/2009 21:29

We've had a breakthrough on the crying/sleeping hoorah! on all naps and evening sleep tonight, he just rolled over and went to sleep, didn't want company. Was lovely to see finally.
MMR went totally fine as well, he laughed at the nurse and didn't cry at all.
Glad to hear good news about your DH Soph - rapido sex eh? At least it's on the agenda. I think DH has decided to wait until I'm on the pill, he hates condoms so much, trouble is I didn't get my prescription until a couple of days after my last period and Dr said I should wait until the next one to start the pack. It could be weeks...my last cycles have been close to 40 days.
If this goes on I might have to have words.

SalLikesCoffee · 21/05/2009 00:10

You lot are mad with all this sex talk! Nights are for sleeping (I wish - but that's thanks to Mr R, not dh's wandering hands... )

Shocking re chicken pox parent, VS! I don't get parents like that. Surely, however important your job is, there are times when the rest of the world can wait. When I work, I'm very career orientated, but that really annoys me. I think it's the whole "having kids for the sake of having kids" thing. So unfair.

I read this thread at work earlier, and burst out laughing, splattering coffee all over. It's the handstanding balls and Peachy's half-meter norks that pushed me over the edge, hahahaha. My team now all think I'm slightly disturbed, because I muttered something about testicles and scaffolding to the one girl, who had the wisdom to nod and leave me to my crazy mumblings...
