Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SalLikesCoffee · 08/05/2009 22:07

Hi Denny! Sorry, I didn't see your post there! (Typing a bit slow here!)

Well, Dover's only really about an hour's drive from here, so we're considering going by Eurotunnel, driving to Arras, and sleeping over there, and then coming back again on Sunday evening. We did it to Bruges the other day, and it was so lovely. (It's obvious we're itching to travel, isn't it?! )

Denny185 · 08/05/2009 22:14

Blimey, v nice weekends. Mine are lucky to get to the park, hehehe.

SalLikesCoffee · 08/05/2009 22:17

Oh, it's only because I'm so lazy that unless I force myself out of my "natural habitat", I tend to just do absolutely nothing at all all weekend! (Which is what I very happily do all the other weekends of the year! )

Denny185 · 08/05/2009 22:22

Both sound like nice options, the busy away one and the home doing nothing one.

My weekend is going to consist of last minute shopping, I promised to take DD1 out so she could spend her b-day money too. Hopefully will be done by tomorrow and we can get out for a walk or something Sunday. We went last week with DD2 in the back pack and she had great fun pulling my hair.

Denny185 · 08/05/2009 22:28

right, going to watch eastenders b4 bed, night, have a lovely weekend whichever you decide to do.

SuzeMcG · 09/05/2009 07:06

Wow Sal, have a nice time!

What time are your babies waking in the morning? E goes to bed by 7.30 at the latest but wakes between 5.45 and 7. This past week, it has been closer to 6 than 7. She has blackout curtains. Yawn.

ScorpiowithabigS · 09/05/2009 10:55

Mimi goes to bed just before 7, and wakes about 7.15

Denny185 · 09/05/2009 13:52

We vary, in bed by 7 but wakes from 6.30 - 8.30. Usually depending on how much sleep she had during the previous day. If she wakes early I tend to leave ignore her playing in her cot till 7.

SalLikesCoffee · 09/05/2009 17:08

Hello everyone. Well, uhm, we went for the "doing nothing" option. When the clock went off this morning, I was convinced it's going to be wet and raining, so cancelled the trip! Turned out to be great, but probably just as well - had a quiet, relaxing day. We stayed in bed reading until late, with R either with us or in his cot sleeping, and only went out just after giving R his lunch! Went to the local coffee shop that makes these lovely ham-and-cheese empanadas, and had those and coffee for brunch/lunch. When Roelof insisted in taking his toys out on the pavement and threatened to drive his car in the road, we decided to come home, and ended lying there for a couple of hours with R around/over us. Uhm, and he bit dh! It was obviously for a joke, but I sincerely hope he doesn't plan on doing it at nursery!!!

Sleeping. R goes to bed at around 7:30, wakes between 11 and 12-ish, then again at around 5 or 6 when he has his bottle and then sleeps again until 7. At first I got stressed about getting him to eat a bigger dinner so that he wouldn't want some milk at 12, but I've now decided that I just can't be bothered to get worked up about these things. He's healthy, happy, and we're always still up at 12 anyway (well, goes to be at around 12). I think the only other thing that I'm not too glad about is the fact that milk is sugar on his teeth. We do however brush his teeth morning and evening, so not much else I can do there, and he doesn't eat any other unnecessary sugars during the day.

Still, saying that, I wouldn't particularly mind if he'd want to do 7-7's!

SalLikesCoffee · 09/05/2009 17:10

Oh, meant we ended up lying in the park (just next to us) for hours, not in front of our front door or in the hallway, of course!

LadyBee · 09/05/2009 19:45

Hi - had a look at your flyer Knitter, and would also hire you in a heartbeat - and I LOVE my CM. I just love the idea of having DS cared for in his own home.
I think I wouldn't put the 'preferably 3 days' on the flyer, as really that's something you can discuss when someone calls and you don't want to give people excuses NOT to call at the beginning. Maybe just say 'days negotiable'. I also would just say 'available from July'. Did you put G's age on the leaflet? I think that's something I'd take into consideration. Also, I would think about puting the activities etc in the 2nd paragraph as bullet points so they stand out a bit more - that would make it all look a bit less 'wordy' so people can see what it's about quite quickly. What else..hmmm...is there some way you could emphasise the 'best of both' thing? One-to-one/two care, but with your baby there too they're learning social skills & interaction in calmer, less overwhelming way? Will read other posts...

LadyBee · 09/05/2009 20:03

putting

Oh congrats to Roelof, stepping out!
Really sorry to hear Gigi's ill MHaH, too bad about the party - what did you end up doing?

about VS's nursery costs. How on earth do people afford that for just one!

B is in bed around 7-7:30, and normally wakes any time from 6-6:45. Unless he starts complaining we just leave him in his cot chatting to the curtains etc, until we're ready to get him up for morning milk and changing. Mostly he's fine, sometimes he gets annoyed and shouts for company.

I wonder if DP has remembered that he's supposed to be making dinner tonight ...

ScorpiowithabigS · 11/05/2009 09:32

Hello everyone

Well we had a nice day yesterday; DH & I went out for carvery ALONE and then a snooze i nthe car by the sea was so nice. Then when we got home we lay on the sofa pretty much all afternoon, kids are darlings, bless them!

THEN (here cometh the drama) Well you know that bitch woman that my 'd'H met in October at thai boxing in Somerset? Well there were fights there yesterday (DH not fighting, his mate was) and DH didn't go. anyway that bitch TEXT him asking if he was there, after 6 months desperate cow. DH ignored it. I was there and saw the text at the time it came in, her number wasnt stored or anything so i guess i have to believe him that its out of the blue. Also i can see they havent spoken as on iphones the converstaion in texts comes up as one long thread iyswim, not an individual. Am i being taken for a mug? He swears not. He actually swore on my babies lives, so....

Anyway. Scan 1pm tomorrow.

paranoidmummy · 11/05/2009 11:24

Hi everyone,

I haven't really read as I am supposed to be cleaning. But I remeber scorpio had a scan on 12th so I wanted to say good luck! I hope it goes well and helps you relax .

That's all from me. Hi and big waves to everyone else!!!

OH and ps. DS2 got accepted for bilateral cochlear implants Its the best best news we could have hoped for and he should be operated on end june so yay....

anyway sorry for the digression - good luck scorpio

paranoidmummy · 11/05/2009 11:26

god i like smilie faces!!!

Soph73 · 11/05/2009 12:13

Afternoon all. I can't believe how expensive your nurseries are. I pay 10.70 euros, which is about 8 or 9 quid a day and that includes Sam's food.

Denny - I've e-mailed you. Can't wait to see you

paranoidmummy - hi there, great to hear from you and great news about the implants. Hope all goes well

Scorpio - sounds like a nice weekend. It does sound as though your DH is telling the truth so I'd be inclined to believe him. Good luck for the scan tomorrow, we want to see beanie piccies on here please

Knitter - you're more than welcome to move close to me any time you wish. We'll move your DH & mine into the garage when they're being knobbers as we may need babysitters

Soph73 · 11/05/2009 12:17

Re sleeping. Sam goes to sleep between 8 and 9pm and then has to be woken about 6am as that's when the boys have to be up so we can all get out of the house by 7.30am!!! At the weekends he normally sleeps until 7am.

ScorpiowithabigS · 11/05/2009 13:13

My nursery is £7 p/h, or £35 9-3. For a full week 8-6 for 5 days is £150, but you do get sibling discount.

ScorpiowithabigS · 11/05/2009 13:13

thats all food nappies and milk, including FF if applicable.

Soph73 · 11/05/2009 13:28

Scorpio - it's good that it includes food, nappies, etc but even so. In total we pay 214 euros a month about 200 quid and we think that's expensive!

KnitterInTheNW · 11/05/2009 15:08

I should be cleaning too, but have horrid period pain and so watching chariots of fire and eating for England instead.

PM, fantastic news about implants!

Soph, I'll start packing now then if the DHs can live in the garage! I've just about hd enough of mine atm, we were away in Leicester for the weekend and he pretty much did nothing unless specifically asked to do things. I'm sick and tired of everything being my job by default.

Soph73 · 11/05/2009 16:08

Knitter - sorry that he's being a bit of a knobber at the moment. Maybe you need to sit down and have a really good talk with him (if you haven't already), make him realise how you feel and that he needs to do more. I know that it's probably not the best of times to have a rational conversation when you've got PMT ... I sympathise as I've got it too ... but he obviously needs to be told quite firmly what it is you expect him to do. Men are pretty useless at taking the initiative and when they see that you're doing everything and not complaining they don't think anything's the matter. I'll make your bed up

Denny185 · 11/05/2009 21:36

Knitter, got to say we have had that 'division of labour' talk several times over our relationship. Dh still lapses on many occasions but he has learnt that if i start shutting cupboard doors firmly that he needs to get off his butt and do something before he gets THE talk again.

DD1 and DS had friends round after school today and they didnt go till 8pm on a school night, I even bathed DD2 and DS in the sink and still they didnt go.

Soph - have emailed you back with no's and hotel, v excited.

Right have a crunchy bar and a pile of ironing, wonder which Ill be tackling first, hehehe.

Fingers crossed for tom Scorpio.

LadyBee · 11/05/2009 22:14

Are our cycles aligning? I'm suffering terrible PMT too..have been craving carbs for days - I go on peanut butter sandwich hunts regularly. I'm off to the GP this week, not for the pmt , but to talk about starting meds back up for PCOS for the next 6 months before TTC-ing again. I'm quite excited.

PM that's excellent news about the implants.
Scorpio, I think he's telling the truth too. But I'm sad for you that he screwed up and has made you even have think about whether he's lied or cheated.

SalLikesCoffee · 11/05/2009 22:17

Scorpio, hope all good tomorrow and that you'll feel more relaxed from tomorrow onwards!

Re that other woman - I think maybe last time your dh did like the attention (I wouldn't have liked it one little bit), but I think this time it's probably not worth it getting cross with him, I think I'd have believed him if I were you. (In reality, I would probably have been furious and say all kinds of unladylike things, but deep down I'd know it was all good. I'd still have been cross for the situation though, which you probably are.)

Could your dh not text her back, saying something like "Hi LittleMissSlutFace. Sorry to be rude, but I'd appreciate it if you'd stop contacting me and if you could delete my number from your phone. I know you mean well, but this is upsetting my lovely wife who is expecting our latest addition to our family."

or else "As I asked you before, please stop texting me, it is inappropriate."

or "Uhm, my husband has obviously not told you, but I now use this phone. Unless you fancy coming over for a coffee and a playdate, please stop texting me." (This obviously coming from you.

Hi paranoidmummy! How are you?

Denny. You'd think their parents want them home earlier!

R's got a horrible cold and has a little difficulty in breathing tonight. Poor thing is crying every 20 mins. It's going to be a long night...
