in 10 weeks, knitter

DH is good at cooking and childcare; a bit crap about putting his clothes away.

KnitterInTheNW · 27/04/2009 12:41

Ok, I may have done DH down a bit there... He does cook tea most nights while I'm putting G to bed, and he does G's bath every night. He's just utterly rubbish at noticing that things need doing. Bin overflowing, doesn't notice. Laundry bin full, doesn't notice. Bed hasn't been changed for a couple of weeks, doesn't notice. That's just a man thing though, right?

ScorpiowithabigS · 27/04/2009 12:58

oh yes knitter, deffo a man thing. The bin is DH's 'job' and i have to remind him nearly every time.

Ahh mimi just gone for nap, Jamie on xbox , i might have a nap

Soph73 · 27/04/2009 13:50

Afternoon all!
Scorpio - how cute, I love kittens. Glad that Mimi's feeling better. Keep yourself as positive as you can & maybe try some relaxation techniques.

Mum & I went and spent Sam's birthday money on Saturday. He is now the proud owner of a new high chair, play-pen and pushchair. The pushchair is great, it's a Bruin Accento 3. It's really lightweight and has a fantastic hood which is just what he needs to keep the sun off. He's a bit bemused about the playpen though

Mum babysat for us on Sat evening & paid for us to go out to dinner, which we haven't done for over a year, as it was DH's birthday on Sun. We had a wonderful Italian meal and then found out that our tiny village does actually have night life. It was a great find but was our complete undoing as we didn't get in till the early hours of Sunday morning We even managed a shag Of course it'll now take us another year to recover!!!

KnitterInTheNW · 27/04/2009 14:30

I'm about to spend G's birthday money too, won one of these on ebay last night, and we're off to pick it up when G wakes up from his nap.

LadyBee · 27/04/2009 20:43

oh sweet, he'll love that. B is head over heels in love with his big blue plastic horse and trike, but doesn't really 'get' the block trolley..I'm a bit annoyed with it as it doesn't seem to be very well balanced and tips easily, which sends B crashing forward. No disasters yet but it feels like an accident waiting to happen.

v of all these nights out and shags

Hey scorpio, guess what...?

you're pregnant

KnitterInTheNW · 27/04/2009 21:48

lol Ladybee!

No nights out & no shags here...

G loves his brick trolley, I'll be glad when he gets the hang of steering it though. He just runs in a straight line with it, then when he bumps into something he just stands there and bashes the trolley into whatever it is, repeatedly, and shouts til someone turns him round. Which one do you have? He LOVES his activity cube, we had it in the living room when we got home with it til he went to bed as it was so wet outside. It's outside now though.

EllieG · 28/04/2009 09:37

Ahhhhhhhrggggghhhhh work is shit and I have had NO SLEEP oh god baby awake all night is all awful

KnitterInTheNW · 28/04/2009 09:56

Ugh Ellie, poor you... Can DH have Mol tonight to let you catch up? Or would you not sleep anyway if she was shouting with him?

Soph73 · 28/04/2009 09:57

Sorry to hear that Ellie. Here

KnitterInTheNW · 28/04/2009 10:04

Morning Soph!

Soph73 · 28/04/2009 10:05

Morning Knitter!

Soph73 · 28/04/2009 10:07

Bit this morning as it's my Mum's last night.

KnitterInTheNW · 28/04/2009 10:09

Sorry to hear you're . Sending you a cadbury's twirl too! Do you have anything nice planned for her last night?

ScorpiowithabigS · 28/04/2009 10:26

LOL Ladybee - indeed i am 6 weeks today

Sorry for you Soph...but you do have me to look forward to

Ellie - oh pooh. you need espresso and croissant. I can talk over her sleep with you if you want?

No shags here either [shcok] too scared, and dont know if im 'allowed' anyway. I do miss seeing dh naked. may make him share a bath with me.

Soph73 · 28/04/2009 10:49

Thanks Knitter No, love her she's making dinner & doing the rest of the ironing. I did buy a nice bottle of red wine yesterday so will definitely crack that open.

Scorpio - can't wait to meet you. The baths over here are so small that (even if) I managed to get into ours I'd need an industrial shoe-horn to get me out. It'd be like trying to squeeze a hippo into your kitchen sink .... sorry, horrid mental images there

Soph73 · 28/04/2009 13:57

Ooo Oooo, forgot to say yesterday ... Sam's got a tooth

KnitterInTheNW · 28/04/2009 14:47

Our late-tooth growing boys make us stupidly excited when they pop out, don't they Soph! G's 2nd one broke through last week, and the 2 top middle ones don't look like they'll be long. He'll look funny with 'proper' teeth instead of just one fang!

Soph73 · 28/04/2009 14:50

Knitter - after a couple of kids you get easily excitable Sam keeps chomping down on his spoon to make a noise then grinning like a cheshire cat ... albeit a cheshire cat with one tooth

KnitterInTheNW · 28/04/2009 14:55

Hee hee! (wants a one-toothed grinning smiley)

Soph73 · 28/04/2009 15:02

something like this maybe

KnitterInTheNW · 28/04/2009 15:03

yes yes yes!

Soph73 · 28/04/2009 15:21

As you can tell, I'm working hard today Actually I do have loads to do but just can't be arsed to do it. As usual I shall be rushing round like a blue-arsed fly towards the end of term trying to get everything finished - hey ho. You lot are a lot more important to me

KnitterInTheNW · 28/04/2009 15:28

Glad to hear that! I should be sitting on the floor playing with George and Charlie but they're pottering about so I don't see why I can't play with my friends!

Soph73 · 28/04/2009 15:35

I'm a great believer that children should learn to be comfortable with their own company and amuse themselves However, if you've managed to beat them into submission educate them to play with each other then even better
