TSC - I think he had to do something to strengthen the hull or something. And he was worried about drowning and similar.

KnitterInTheNW · 23/04/2009 18:28

Hmm... I was planning on bringing G! (still haven't left him for a whole day yet ) Was hoping we could do a lunchtime & afternoon meet, I think that would fit better for those of us travelling a fair way on the day? (You can still drink many many cocktails, Ellie!)

KnitterInTheNW · 23/04/2009 18:36

And cot in the bathroom, genius! (If it'll fit). Thanks, Soph!

MommyHasaHeadache · 23/04/2009 19:03

Knitter, when we have stayed in hotel rooms with Gigi, we normally just put her in a darkish part of the room - normally by the door and when putting her down we tend to keep the tv on so its not a new noise when she goes to sleep. Also, we put a sheet over the top on the cot too, just for a little extra darkness. And, in my expereince, the bathroom in the Travelodge is not big enough for a cot.

So Ellie, what day are we seeing you then? The 22nd? Need to put it in the dairy.

Scorpio - am very envious. Wish I had originally gone for a Bee. My pram is also red!

SalLikesCoffee · 23/04/2009 23:12

Hello ladies. Wow, what a chatty day - I had a lovely time reading through all your posts from today.

Ellie, I want to do cocktails with you Don't mind what time, just let me know. I'm so excited already.

Oh, and Ellie, niiiiice on your hotel break! I've got this thing about good food, would love a break like that! Mind you, I'd go for the sleeping-all-night version, not slow lovemaking, haha! (Poor dh!)

Scorpio, cooooool re scan. I loved seeing the growing little bean/alien in my tummy, always makes me smile looking back at those early pics! You'll have to keep us updated with all your tests / scans / everything - I don't want another baby just yet, but love this stage, so will have to live my ooh-cool-my-body's-changing through you for now!

Oh yes, and re buggy. I've got a red Bee too, they're really cool. Only thing would be that they're really small (one of the good things about it too, of course), so not sure how much longer I'll use it for Mr Fatty. However, as yours is a real Little Lady and another tiny one to follow, your excuses will stand! I bet you you got pregnant just because you wanted a buggy, didn't you?!

Night all. xxx

LadyBee · 23/04/2009 23:12

Bring George, Knitter - I'll be bringing B in for sure - might get DP to take him home though so I can stay out and drink pink drinks-- play.
Of course there could always be wine in the park (that sounds worse than I mean).

Scorpio excellent news about the scan appointment. Take it easy (what am I saying, you've probably been asleep for hours).

Which is actually quite a good plan - should head to bed myself.

KnitterInTheNW · 24/04/2009 08:12

Bumps, bumps everywhere! A lovely friend of ours popped round to drop off DH's birthday card last night and told us she's pg and due in November, I've been grinning like a loon ever since. SO excited! Told DH that I predict becoming very very broody in November... Actually I'm in no rush (sort of) to have no 2, purely because of how long I was in hospital last time. Because of diabetes complications for me and baby, we'll be in for almost a week again like I was with George, and I think G needs to be a bit older so that he can cope with me being away from home for that long (and me away from him too!)

I'm so looking forward to this meet up! I almost definately won't be joining in with wine/cocktails in the park, I've not been drinking still since G was born (apart from the very occasional glass of pear cider with tea) and I'm a complete lightweight now! Really not a good idea to be tiddly in chsrge of a 17 month old and trying to get to and on the correct train home! So, is it going to be the 22nd then?

VictorianSqualor · 24/04/2009 09:16

Hey all.
Sorry I haven't emailed yet PM, been really busy I'll drop you a line tonight when kids are in bed as DP is working nights the next few days so I'll actually get some breathing space

Still really enjoying new job, in fact I love pretty much everything about it, already have my favourites and my not so favourites, however it's really lovely to see that even the children (have been working in room of 18-24 months) that are really stroppy and cry and whinge are treated fabulously by all the staff and I've not heard one person complain about the child's behaviour (the parent's behaviour is a different matter)

How is Molly doing Ellie? I've thought of you a few times when a child has turned up, cried at Mummy leaving, Mummy seems to be taking it harder than said child and walks out of the building sobbing and then before the minute is up child gives staff a great big smile and wanders off to find something to play with satisfied they've put Mummy through it enough

Scorpio, cool about the scan.

Knitter travelodge bathrooms aren't massive and they provide travelcots, but not sure they'd fit in the bathroom, however, there is normally a smaller part of the room by the doorway alongside the bathroom, maybe if you took a massive sheet and pinned it to the ceiling you could separate a little bit off for him there? FWIW, I've done travelodge with an 18 month old and a 4yr old, tons of times with no problem.

This is going to be very selfish post.

I am terrified. Mimi has D&V last night (better now) and im so scared im going to get it and it will make me mc. I cant believe this is going to turn out ok. Symptoms all ok and no bleeding or pain, im so bloody scared and keep crying today. I am so scared.

VictorianSqualor · 24/04/2009 09:52

Call the doctors, or a midwife, or NHS direct or someone.
Someone that can tell you generally D&V doesn't cause miscarriages in otherwise healthy pregnancies.
Drink a ton of boiled cooled water and keep yourself as healthy as possible, wash, wash and re-wash everything fingers crossed you won't get it anyway.

ScorpiowithabigS · 24/04/2009 09:54

i have bleaached everything in sight and am hot washing all bedding, even ours that she just sat in this morning. first time of her being sick was 1830 y'day so hoping that its just her iyswim.

i kind of know that D&V wont cause me a mc but i am not very rational at the moment.

TheShipsCat · 24/04/2009 12:04

Poor you, Scorpio. Have you called NHS direct /MW/ someone? I am sure it will be OK...I know there's not much point writing this, but try not to worry

Soph73 · 24/04/2009 12:10

Scorpio - try not to worry too much even though that's easier said than done. How's Mimi feeling now? Have you eaten & drunk plenty of fluids?

ScorpiowithabigS · 24/04/2009 12:45

Mimi is perking up and no-one else at nursery has been sick, so maybe its just her? (please, god!). I am eating and drinking as normal (extra water) as i owe it to my bean, not my fear iyswim.

Feel like crying all day. Just want DH

LadyBee · 24/04/2009 13:48

Oh poor you. Try to be brave. Remember you haven't gotten sick yet, and just do everything possible to prevent infection - wash hands lots, etc.

Really sorry that you're feeling this way, I think it's one of many sad things about having had MC is that subsequent pregnancies are tinged with so much fear and paranoia. Do try to allow yourself to enjoy this one, even if you feel that to do that you need to take extra steps.

ScorpiowithabigS · 24/04/2009 13:55

thankyou

im not ill. she is nearly ok i think. i used to be so naive about pg; not anymore!

Soph73 · 24/04/2009 15:05

Pleased Mimi is feeling better and that you're not ill. I can't imagine what you're going through but we're all here for you.

Soph73 · 24/04/2009 15:05

Have put a couple of recent piccies of the boys on my profile

Soph73 · 24/04/2009 15:25

Home time in a moment, have good weekends ladies xxxxxxxx

KnitterInTheNW · 24/04/2009 16:31

Oh Soph, your boys are both delicious, what gorgeous smiles!

VictorianSqualor · 24/04/2009 19:56

Ooops, I've made meself look a right plank and I think DP now thinks I'm a closet alchy

Few weeks ago he came home after a night shift and I'd had wine, when he said 'Have you been drinking? smells like wine in here' I replied'No' (feck knows why!!I felt about 14, insta-reaction=lie) anyway I then admitted to him I had but looked a right twonk for lying.

Anyway, yesterday I popped to shop picked up some wine and a curry, DD and I shared the curry and I drank one bottle of wine, thing is when I came in I was bursting for a wee so ran upstairs leaving bag of shopping on floor in porch, DD saw cats rummaging so moved it, minus some of the spilled items (wine and water) so when I tidied up the porch later I shoved them in Alex's bag which was in porch. On his way out to work tonight DP found the wine (I took the water out to take to work) and now thinks I'm hiding wine....

OP posts:
KnitterInTheNW · 24/04/2009 20:43

hee hee VS! If that happened to me, I'd hide random bottles of stuff (not just booze, ketchup, salad cream, all sorts) in random places all over the house. Not quite sure why, just think it'd be funny.

VictorianSqualor · 24/04/2009 20:54

LOL.

OP posts:
ScorpiowithabigS · 25/04/2009 09:48

Ha ha i am PMSL, you should so hide a bottle of sauce in his bag or something

Well Mimi is still a bit ill, no more D&V since 12pm y'day, but she is very sleepy and a bit hot. Has ahd calpol, muchos water and half a piece of toast.

I am paranoia central re my pregnancy. I don't know how to relax.

LadyBee · 25/04/2009 13:40

I've just had the wierdest thing. About 2pm yesterday I started feeling really cold shivery and my joints started aching. Dragged myself through to the end of the day, staggered out of the office and home on the dot of 5:30. Dropped onto bed, had bath after DS had his and into PJs before having beans on toast for supper and in bed by 8:30, aching, shivering and now feeling hot. Had a rubbish night with everything sore until I remembered we had some Syndol, took that at 1am and then slept soundly. This morning I feel totally fine. Absolutely nothing wrong with me.
Which is good. But ???? I do seem to get this achey joints thing quite a lot. Anyway, it was odd but I'm pleased it's over.

BabyB is teething again, he threw up his milk feed this morning and has had a couple of teething nappies in the last few days. He's so grumpy too - poor thing, this will be his 8th so hopefully a break after this one?

Scorpio - maybe you could try repeating some positive thoughts to yourself in the morning. I'm not really big on affirmations etc but some people say it really helps?
