Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

This is a bit silly but Reilly keeps coming out with things like 'X sucks' and about being drunk and it's coming from his biological dad. I have to have ANOTHER word about appropriate things for a 6 year old.

I don't like the word 'sucks', find it rude when the sayee is 6. As for drunk.....well that shows you alot, doesn't it.

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/04/2009 13:51

Me again

Some woman said to me today in Smiths 'oh you have your hands full'

Cow. the children were stood silently in a little line next to me, perfectly behaved, everything.

Felt like saying 'Yes but not full enough'

EllieG · 14/04/2009 14:28

Yes you chav with your many children, they've probably all got ASBOs, even Mimi.

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/04/2009 14:59

oh yes, and pierced ears. ho hum.

MommyHasaHeadache · 14/04/2009 19:38

LOL - some people suck! Actually I never did get why people feel it necessary to make comments like that.

Right - before I forget:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALL THE BABIES THAT HAVE HAD BIRTHDAY'S RECENTLY!!!

Ellie, if it makes you feel better (however slight), Gigi's sleeping has gone up the spout too since starting nursery. She had slept through for months, then started nursery and now wakes up at night again, and her eating is off.

Scorpio - I'm guessing it's sunny your side of the UK with all this talk of parks and being outside? Very jealous - it rained and was generally miserable this whole Easter w/e and is still miserable today. Not fair!!! I want sun! Would so love a(nother) holiday right now... am very envious reading about all these holidays everyone is going on!

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/04/2009 19:38

It was horrid here yester day, but loverrrly today. I am very west cornwall, so get the extremes!

EllieG · 14/04/2009 20:04

MHAH - was hoping someone would say it would sort itself out in a week or so! Never mind. Eating also tricksy at the moment, only will be spoon fed her cereal or yoghurt now, everything else has to feed herself or we get much flapping and crossness. 'Spose is a good thing but mealtimes take sooooo long now and are so very messy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PANDA FOR TOMORROW!!!!!

Where is VS anyway? In fact, where is everybody? Has all gone very quiet here....I hope people aren't off doing exciting things while I spend my time noodling around eating chocolate and going on the 'puter.

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/04/2009 20:14

Ellie - be strict at night still. It will be ok again, she is getitng used to a routine change but don't give in at night. (is just me though)

EllieG · 14/04/2009 20:42

Thanks scorpio. I will wait til she is properly better and then get my strict head on...

Denny185 · 14/04/2009 21:13

Olla, long time no post again, am becoming terrible for posting sorry.

Were waking at night again last few weeks (teeth I think) anything from few squeeks to couple of hours of wailing. Slept through again the last 2 nights and feel more knackered with increased sleep ????

Happy b-day to all those over the last week, hope they have all enjoyed chewing wrapping paper.

Not much news here, most of the way through easter hols, back on Monday then normality can resume. Gets a bit draining trying to keep kids entertained and stop them fighting so will be quite glad when they are seperated by different buildings.

Back to work properly this week, have been using up AL since Jan so taking every Fri off. So 3 full days from here on, pants.

Denny185 · 14/04/2009 21:34

Hola even

KnitterInTheNW · 14/04/2009 22:31

Well. Tonight I've been to asda to buy my own birthday lunch for tomorrow. (mum & dad & auntie & uncle are )coming over for the day.) I've baked my own birthday cake. Feel like I might as well have been out & bought and wrapped my own pressies. Mentioned it to DH (who's been arsing about doing non essential computer things) who said 'you should have asked me, I'd have made the cake'. He misses the point, methinks. . I know I'm sounding mighty ungrateful but I'd like to be looked after tomorrow, not doing all the looking after as usual!

LadyBee · 14/04/2009 22:37

Hi all,

emails from my RL postnatal group this morning showed that there is an epidemic of non-sleeping, non-eating babies at the moment...so I guess it's just that phase for our April babies? Not that B has a problem with eating, apart from wanting to hold the spoon but not really being able to get much onto it himself.

At least tonight wasn't a struggle, but he didn't actually sleep until 8pm, I just didn't try putting him in his cot until a bit before that and he was happily snuggled up to me for about 20 mins beforehand. Which is ok. At the moment.

Soph, am a little worried about you, hope everything is ok.

chipmonkey · 14/04/2009 23:17

Hi all! I'm like you, Denny, the prodigal daughter!
Hope Soph is OK

Peachy · 15/04/2009 09:09

Happy birthday Panda & Knitter

And anyone else I missed

Soph hope all is well

non sleeping babies- ah yes, changes to routine over Easter combined with lighter evenings and clock changes no doubt. Tis common.

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/04/2009 09:56

anybody here?

Peachy · 15/04/2009 10:21

Whats up Scorpio?

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/04/2009 10:24

here

EllieG · 15/04/2009 12:12

Happy birthday knitter! (I had the same for my birthday and we Had Words about it after)

And happy birthday Panda

And hello chipmonkey and denny!

scorpio - ((((hugs)))) have posted for you x

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/04/2009 12:41

He has to stay overnight something to do with his skin type (he is very dark) and healing or something.

VictorianSqualor · 15/04/2009 16:16

Ugh, I am so fecking annoyed.
DP called his parents this morning to let them know Panda's birthday tea would be at about 3pm. I've got a load of food made.
They still aren't here.
On top of that, we had wanted to get him a trike for his birthday, they called us the other day and said they'd bought one, but I didn't say too much about it. Guess what they've bought him?
The same fucking trike we have in the garage for DS1, that was bought when he was 3
Age 15months plus. When is he ever going to use it? All summer he'll be too small, then it will be too cold!!

Also, am confused. Just had a phoen call and have been offered another job. It's in a care home, work I've done before and enjoyed, but not working with babies, nor in a childcare environment which could benefit me when I start teaching, so I'll be losing that experience(downside)
It's closer to home and the hours are 7-2 three days a week and I can choose my days. So I'd be leaving a little earlier, getting home the same time, and earning a little bit more money. Plus would be home with Panda twice a week.(upside)
Don't know what to do

OP posts:
ScorpiowithabigS · 15/04/2009 17:52

I think the new job offer osunds like it has more positives - yes the experience of hcildcare will help when you start etaching but you will have placement anyway, and plus anybody knows a mother of 3 has childcare experience! The hours sound nice, actually.

[lazy]

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/04/2009 18:10

Mimi was crying after her bath, and i looked at her tummy and about a fingernails width above her bellybutton in a straight line is a little tiny lump, almost the size of one of those silver balls you put on cakes? it was very clear and hard-ish to touch, but not very sticky outy, but deffo there. her belly button is very outy but its above the 'knot' iyswim. when she stopped it went? Any thoughts?

LadyBee · 15/04/2009 20:59

Scorpio, do you mean that when she was crying the lump was visible, and when she stopped the lump disappeared?

Read your thread re DH, so sorry to hear about the operation. Did it go ok? Will he be discharged tomorrow or will you be able to take the DC to visit him?

Right, going to read some more...

chipmonkey · 15/04/2009 22:05

Peachy, if you're around, can you have a look at my www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2417/738844-Does-this-look-like-a-good-tent/tent thread]]
