OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LadyBee · 12/04/2009 14:22

Hi, yes I thought of you and your DH when I heard the news this morning, but as Sal said, tourists normally aren't affected by this sort of thing, it does seem to happen in Thailand fairly regularly...just might impact on the flights a bit?

LadyBee · 12/04/2009 14:28

I have a stinking cold - all bunged up. Babybee seems to be an afternoon nap strike as well - or rather he's switched times so now doesn't want to sleep until after 3:30pm but then doesn't wake until close to 5..which is putting us all a bit out for dinner, bath and bedtime (I don't suppose it matters, it's just throwing me a bit).

KnitterInTheNW · 12/04/2009 14:36

How long does he have in the morning, LadyBee?

ScorpiowithabigS · 12/04/2009 14:39

Mimi has only been having one nap a day for a long time. She goes down from 1-3 (ish) pm.

LadyBee · 12/04/2009 20:19

Well, at home he sleeps quite a lot in the mornings, normally 10-11;30ish. Which I suppose it quite a long nap now, but he doesn't often have a morning nap at his childminder - other than maybe nodding off in the car on the way to/from playgroup, and very rarely has more than 45 mins in the afternoon, so we don't wake him up when he naps at home as we feel he needs to catch up.

I'd prefer him to have a long afternoon nap, both places. I guess I should have a word with childminder about making sure he's being put in a cot for afternoon sleep, she often lets him nap in his buggy and I think that doesn't let him do more than one sleep cycle as he can't do a shuffle around and get into a different comfy position like he does in a cot.

I've just spent an hour trying to get him to go to sleep. Sigh. Tried twice letting him go to sleep by himself. Tried several times staying with him with hand on, stroking face etc etc, ended up rocking him. Poor bean, he would NOT let himself go off, kept hitting his head. I might get him checked for ear infection tomorrow, there's been an awful lot of fingers poking in ears, ear tugging, etc. Don't recall him feeling hot but will check it out tomorrow. Anyway...another day tomorrow. Might have an easter egg

LadyBee · 12/04/2009 20:20

That's 45 mins at CM, he sleeps longer in the afternoons at ours. Which is why we feel like he's catching up...

KnitterInTheNW · 12/04/2009 23:29

What would happen if you woke him after 45 mins or so in the morning? Would he be happy enough and then last til after lunch, when he 'd be more ready for a big sleep? Or would he be crabby and it just wouldn't be worth it? Poor little love if he has poorly ears, earache and toothache are the worst things ever.

EllieG · 13/04/2009 09:05

Hey all! How were your easters? I ate SO much chocolate yesterday I still feel a bit sick but it was worth it mmmmm

Happy birthday to all I missed -

Kyran
CeylonSapphire's DD
Florence
Maya Alice
Sophia Viviana

That's cool that Sam and Molly are on same day as you Sal! I will send you a slice of her cake.

EllieG · 13/04/2009 09:08

Oops posted too soon by accident -

Was going to add - glad move went well knitter and G is settling in nicely

Not sure will be going back to work tomorrow cos Molly has caught conjunctivitus from her induction days at nursery. Work are going to love that aren't they? Poor little mite is all icky looking and won't let me get anywhere near her eyes to clean them and put the drops in. How the hell do you do eye drops on a baby who is screaming and screwing up her eyes so tightly that they all run out?

Peachy · 13/04/2009 10:06

just logged on to ask scorpio if her dh isok as fo dvising UK citizend not to travel to Thailand ATM

Any news Scorpio?

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 10:09

Hey

Well DH left Pattaya yesterday and arrived in Bangkok this morning, says there is heavy armed police presence but he hasnt actually seen any red shirts. He is flying 0400GMT tomorrow morning anyway so is getting out of there soon. He is staying indoors tonight and is just at his gym now, about 2 minutes walk from hotel so he feels safe.

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 10:11

It's songkhran water festival (new year) there (well yesterday) and where he was in pattaya he said it was just peaceful, everyone was enjoying the water throwing, etc.

He went in a cab to Bangkok this morning and hasnt seen a thing. Am hoping that flights will be normal.

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 10:12

his mum hasn't rung me htough

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 13:20

LOL

Its the water festival (have said before lol) and DH is in his hotel STARVING and needs to go out to get dinner but there are loads of people outside with water bombs and pistols and everything he doesn't wanna get wet LOL

SalLikesCoffee · 13/04/2009 13:24

Hehehe, Scorpio! Tell him to smear his face white, take a shower with his clothes on already and then tell them he's had enough fun! Then again, guess that'll defy the purpose of now wanting to get wet...

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 13:25

last night loads of them picked him up and put him in a bath of water in the street LOL

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/04/2009 13:32

Is Soph on holiday? I am going to Gran Canaria in 8 weeks....i wonder if her & Sam want a visit?? I can bring english stuff!!!

LadyBee · 13/04/2009 21:58

I was wondering about that, but I think she doesn't have access at home so won't have been on since Thursday last and wasn't she very ill before that? Soph, hope you haven't had relapse.

Knitter, tried waking him sooner on morning nap - he was fine getting to lunch and went down fairly easily at afternoon nap a bit earlier today. But still terrible for night sleep - 8pm again before he allowed himself to go to sleep. Oh, well he's off to CM tomorrow, let's see whether a day full of excitement at her place wears him out better.

Wahhhhh, I don't wanna go back to work tomorroooowwww. Muuuu-uuuuuumm can I stay home. pleeeeeeeaaaase. I don't feel well.

SalLikesCoffee · 13/04/2009 22:16

I think I've got what Ladybee has... Can I stay too, please???!!!

Fingers crossed for B's sleeping to get sorted, Ladybee. Keep us updated.

KnitterInTheNW · 13/04/2009 22:49

LadyBee and Sal, I'll write you a note each to take back to school work, and you can curl up on my sofa with the remote control and a duvet tomorrow. Hmm, I might have to trust you not to raid the cupboard with the easter eggs in, cos George and I are off to Denny's house. Looking forward to it!

SalLikesCoffee · 13/04/2009 23:04

Thanks, Knitter! Your easter eggs are safe, I think I've had my part of sugar for the rest 10 years or so...

Enjoy the Denny-visit!

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/04/2009 08:46

DH IS COMING HOME

One more sleep!!!!!!!

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/04/2009 08:46

I shall no longer have to live like a nun

EllieG · 14/04/2009 13:22

Hey all - in work now [does secret Mning whilst pretending to look busy social working] - Molly still poorly, up all night, so not at nursery. Hopefully will be better soon. Her sleep has gone all crappy since nursery started, she was sleeping through and now is up all night. Am so tired. And I'm coming down with something. I think I might be dying actually. [Ellie overdramatises in pathetic attempt to get sympathy off people]

Glad you DH is OK scorpio

ScorpiowithabigS · 14/04/2009 13:26

LOL @ dying actually

I spent all morning in the park and have now kicked kids outside whilst mimi naps and i eat a whole bit of an easter egg

DH is up in the air, UK bound
