Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
madameovary · 08/04/2009 11:46

Happy Birthday Alasdair and James Samuel!

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I am well rid though and the last two days have been very good indeed.

I have also had a briiliant haircut and have posted pic of it and two new pics of Ellis.

Her tenth tooth is coming in and its a molar, been coming for ages, poor thing!

VS thanks for that always good to hear that good DP's can arrive after the knobbers! I get lots of support and so actually am enjoying being single right now. Have the oddest feeling that a nice man is waiting for me when the time is right.

VictorianSqualor · 08/04/2009 11:47

SUZEM!!!!!
Helloooooo

OP posts:
SuzeMcG · 08/04/2009 12:16

Hi VS Will be thinking of you tomorrow. I always find my mum's birthday hard.

Madameovary, ten teeth! E only has her two bottom teeth. Your DD is a cutie pie and you look very glam.

madameovary · 08/04/2009 12:28

Thanks Suze, dont normally wear lippy but the occasion called for it. I look slightly demented as I took the photo myself with camera phone. Also was so delighted to be rid of him it kind of shows

EllieG · 08/04/2009 21:07

Happy birthday to -
Alasdair
James Samuel

Hey suze!!! Nice to see you. E is SO cute.

MO - wow lady, you look fab! Clearly dumping the fu*kwit agrees with you - great haircut, and looking like that you'll have no trouble meeting anyone you please. But being single for a while is always fun after a breakup - I loved it when I was after my marriage broke up once had stopped being sad, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Ellis is a sweetie too, very smiley, bless her.

Molly had another great day at nursery today - she 'made' an easter hat. It is a band of card with lots of splodgy purple paint and glitter but it clearly shows huge artistic promise and I am ridiculously proud and am going to keep it forever

I am getting used to not being with her, though it is strange. It helps enormously that she is clearly settling really well now and is happy when I am not there. They have changed their staffing so that it is the same two girls (her keyworker and another who she knows) on in the baby room permanently as they only have 4 babies at the moment. They seem to like her too - they said today how lovely she was because she is so happy and smiles and laughs all day long

pfj - hope Jack's injections went Ok, poor little man

VS - will be thinking of you all tomorrow x

ScorpiowithabigS · 09/04/2009 18:43

MadameOvary you are very gorgeous

This is me today I am spitting feathers, mega big time.

SalLikesCoffee · 09/04/2009 20:28

Hey Scorpio, what's up?

KnitterInTheNW · 09/04/2009 21:47

I'm back! What did I miss?

Not having internet has been good because it's made me unpack boxes and stuff (and clean the new house, it was seriously grotty) but I've missed you all!

We broke George in the move, he was very very cross and clingy and quite horrid actually for about a week, but he's turning into the happy chappy again now. We bough cruiser shoes from clarks from him yesterday, and they've like magic shoes. Without them he won't walk holding onto my fingers, with them he will and wants to. Without them he's a bit rubbish walking with his brick trolley, with them he whizzes up and down the hall like a mad thing. He even stood up on his own for a couple of seconds wearing them earlier! I think it's cos his feet are little and fat and are too rounded to give him any balance! He measured 2.5G but he's got 3G shoes cos they don't make them that small! They fit fine though.

LadyBee · 09/04/2009 23:23

Hello Knitter! your post just made me AND Dp giggle like loons.

We haven't had BabyB's feet measured, but I like the sound of magic shoes.

What's going on Scorpio? Hope nothing with DH? is he back yet?

Woohoo I've booked us some swimming lessons for my day off - am so excited to find something happening on Wednesdays. Even my local library is closed on Weds, and everything seems to be on Tuesdays or Thursdays, was getting desperate!

KnitterInTheNW · 09/04/2009 23:37

Hi LadyBee! Swimming lessons sound fun. We go to caterpillar music on Thursday mornings and I've just booked us into Tumble Tots for Wed mornings too, starting after the easter break. He'll love it, he climbs and clambers on everything.

Oh goodness, I forgot to tell you my biggest news, now G has his own room he's (whispers) sleeping. I'd say I have to go in and find his dummy for him one night in three or something, but the difference it's made!

LadyBee · 10/04/2009 00:12

That's so brilliant. We have had another breakthrough sleeping-wise too, I can now put him in his cot, with a couple of books, he chunters away to himself for a bit then lies down and goes to sleep. This happens for naps mainly, but has worked for the big night-time sleep a few times. It's like magic!

I've got to decide what to get for babybee's birthday present. I think we'll probably go for a smart trike and maybe block trolley thing. Also got to get some paints or crayons or something - I now have a big roll of paper (thanks VS!) but nothing for him make marks with.

oh my god look at the time! What am I doing...go to bed lady, now!

KnitterInTheNW · 10/04/2009 11:00

George's smart trike and brick trolley are his fave things atm, so I think good choices!

DH has taken G out 'somewhere secret'. Considering it's my birthday on Wednesday and he's never taken him out on his own before, I think i can guess where they've gone. (My powers of deduction include this evidence: the local pottery painting place's website was still up on the laptop . Bless him, it's the thought that counts, and whatever they make will be brilliant!

ScorpiowithabigS · 10/04/2009 11:45

No i am fine again now, i was so amd for a whole day

Mimi has cruisers too and she is a 4.5 F LOL. huge big feet

DH is going down to Pattaya today. He loves it there. 2 of his friends hired thai women last night DH was so disgusted he rang me at 4am to tell me, lol. He will be home on Wednesday

SalLikesCoffee · 10/04/2009 13:30

What idiots, Scorpio!!! At least dh was disgusted with them, and good on him for calling you! I'd be furious, and wouldn't like such friends at all. Urgh, some people are stupid.

Lazy day here - I slept until 12! Dh is a darling, played with R all morning, brought me coffee in bed, so then we were cosying up in bed, reading books (or trying, with R climbering all over us...) Nothing planned for the day really. Considering going to Zippos Circus this afternoon - just a 15 minutes walk away, so might as well.

ScorpiowithabigS · 10/04/2009 13:32

DH really hates anything to do with that, he says it's hard to look at the men the same way now. One is married . It's horrid, but i guess it's life.

Oooooh a circus?? We are watching Bee Movie

SalLikesCoffee · 10/04/2009 14:11

Movie sounds lovely!

I'm so lazy today - the circus starts at 3pm this afternoon, so I think we'll skip today and just go tomorrow pm (or tonight, but will prob mess up R's sleep completely, as it finishes at 9pm.)

LadyBee · 10/04/2009 20:56

Movie does sound nice. There's a Wallace & Grommet on at the moment and DP is dishing up a lovely smelling Indian takeaway -- mouth's watering!

My cousin has just had a baby! 8 lb 11 oz, baby boy. I'm so pleased for her, she's early 40s and had breast cancer in her 30s so it was a wonderful surprise that she became pregnant after all that treatment.

madameovary · 11/04/2009 09:38

Happy Birthday to
Kyran
Sebastian James,
CeylonSapphire,
Florence

Scorpio that is sooo depressing makes me glad I'm single [shudder]

I quite like the thought of watching Bee Movie

Ladybee - lovely news about your cousin, she must be over the moon.

Sal - that sounds idyllic and lovely, nice to hear about all the lovely things your DP's do!

We are watching Nina and the Neurons after breakfast as Ellis finally has an appetite again though she still has a runny nose.

SalLikesCoffee · 11/04/2009 11:21

Good morning, MO.

Sounds lovely, glad Ellis feeling better! Runny noses - I suspect R might be born that way, can't remember ever seeing him without one!

Painted the last bits of our room yesterday afternoon - felt a bit like those last weeks before I had R, when I just had to paint everything in sight, couldn't stop myself... Planned to do the wallpaper, which is for the wall behind our bed, but just as we were to start, R started crying (was in bed already), we picked him up and he started a little vomit. Ran with him to the bathroom, but halfway down the hallway, he had the most massive puke, covering just about everything! So then wallpapering was swopped for bathing R and washing the carpet! He was fine after that - I suspect it was just too greedy wolfing down of his milk!

Wallpapering therefore to be done this morning, as well as a trip to B&Q to hire a carpet washer. Needs doing anyway, but last night's covering was the final push I needed. (Just so you don't all think I'm a complete slattern - which I am - I did wash that bit by hand anyway! )

SalLikesCoffee · 11/04/2009 11:26

Also, happy birthday to today's vip's!

Oh, and Ellie and Soph, I've just realised that Mollie, Sam and I share a birthday! How cool is that?! I'm sending them virtual cupcakes with stacks of icing, don't care a bit that you might not want them to eat sugar yet!

ScorpiowithabigS · 11/04/2009 11:50

Happy last year due date to me
and actual happy birthday to the babies

MO - it is very horrid and the price they paid was even more insulting, if at all possible. It's all just horrid & i am actually very shocked.

DH has been to a little thai island today on a jet ski thing and been sunbathing al lday (the sod)

Although i am becuase DH was invited to Jamaica end of June and I'm going too . Also first week of june is my girly holiday and im off to The Canary Islands (Soph - dont you live on one??? I can bring you marmite & Heinz beans!!!)

madameovary · 11/04/2009 12:15

Scorpio
How very James Bond of your DH

ScorpiowithabigS · 11/04/2009 13:16

lol @ DH being James Bond. I could cope with him in a suit, though

ScorpiowithabigS · 11/04/2009 18:32

WHY OH WHY

every other night Mimi is asleep by now. But every time i want to go out she plays up.

I'm going to the meadery tonight for a df birthday. WHY OH WHY

SalLikesCoffee · 12/04/2009 12:45

Scorpio, where's dh now? Just watched the news re Bangkok. It'll be fine though, as tourists doesn't seem to be affected, but I just wondered.
