Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
VictorianSqualor · 06/04/2009 12:57

Well I'd tell Reilly that although she still loves him very much sometimes grown-ups decide they made a mistake with who their bf/gf is and they've decided to just be friends but he'll still be able to see her.

OP posts:
ScorpiowithabigS · 06/04/2009 13:02

Yes, that sounds good; just have never had to deal with this before, i mean my parents are still together, etc.

She is ocming over in about half hour, actually, Reilyl left his DS at theirs.

MommyHasaHeadache · 06/04/2009 13:31

Gigi has (finally) 2 teeth!! Her two top eye teeth have peeked their way through, and when she was smiling just now, I got a glimpse of white and realised after a little feel that it was a tooth! So checked the other side, and there was the other! No other teeth besides those 2, but I've done a quick Google and it seems that it doesn't really matter what order they come in, as long as they come! This explains the lack of appetite, the waking up and the poo's now! lol Hindight - so great hey!

Still trying to decide what to do for Gigi's b/day. This is what I think we are going to do (but we still have a month to figure it all out!) On the actual day, DH is taking the day off so we will both spend the day with her. Def want to do the Build a Bear idea (thanks again Peachy!) and will prop take her to the park and just try make her feel even more special that day. Then the Sat after her b/day we will have family around for a BBQ and cake.

Ellie - I wouldn't really want to share Gigi's b/day either, so do understand how you feel. Agree with Sal, just explain you never meant to upset anyone. I am sure they will be fine!

Damn Denny, you are making me feel guilty for not going to gym to work off that eater egg I ate the other day... sigh - what's that saying - a minute on the lips is a lifetime on the hips. I do like that minute though!

TheMightyBoosh · 06/04/2009 19:35

LOLMHAH no probs, hope she likes the bear!

A year ago from now I was just starting to nest frenetically (after about an hour DH joined in), feel a bit Yay! to celebrate a fab year and that its up, also. Still he still looks a nigh on bald baby so I can fake it LOL

SalLikesCoffee · 07/04/2009 20:38

hello! where is everyone? this isn't a sign of what's going to happen this summer, is it? Please, no!

Ellie - when would suit you? Busiest time at work is usually that week from the 18th, but I should be able to wangle it either way. When'll work for you? I'll arrange my things around that.

TSC, that sounds so lovely! An update on my travel plans:
Dh's work deadlines changed again, but this time for the best - and now we're going to Peru again in June!!! I am so excited, I'm boring everyone to tears with my news! (again and again and again). The tickets are now booked, so it can't go wrong again (or not without major unhappiness, but wouldn't happen).

Because Peru will be too close to dh's birthday for a longer Ephesus trip, I've decided to do that for our later in the year trip then. It sounds perfect for a week's holiday.

I know it's not now yet and all that, but it's nice now that it's finalised, I'm so excited!

Except for that, no news. R's not feeling great - crying, not really eating, not really sleeping. Dh's eye all funny looking - has an eye infection. Oh, and bad cough. Me - bad cough, feels like cold starting. Oh joy, we're a cheerful bunch!

PeachyWithTheBirthdayBas · 07/04/2009 21:34

Happy birthday Jack and lexie!

PFJ I hope you had a great day.

Been lovely here, one over excited little boy stillup after sleeping in car on way home from bear creation LOL but .

SalLikesCoffee · 07/04/2009 21:40

Happy birthday to Bas, Peachy!!! It's his birthday, he can stay up all night if he wants!

Happy birthday too, Jack and Lexie!

madameovary · 07/04/2009 21:58

Hi Everyone,

Hope you have all been having lovely birthdays.
Thank you for the birthday wishes, 'Twas my birthday too sorry to not offer many happy returns as they appear but I have been mainly preoccupied posting on the EA thread as I have finally booted my hideous ex out of our lives once and for all. He was giving me untold grief acting like he wanted a reconciliation then getting cold feet repeatedly, I have reached my limit now, I just can't be putting myself through it any more.

He didn't even buy Ellis a birthday present .

Ellis having her first cold/bug at the moment. Probably as a result of starting nursery. First session she was a complete star, played happily with the other babies and wasn't fazed when I left the room for half an hour.

EllieG · 07/04/2009 22:13

Happy birthday to -

Ellis
Henry Peter
(for 5th and 6th respectively)

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR TODAY TO BAS AND JACK AND LEXIE!

MO - I am so sorry to hear you've been having a hard time of things. Sounds like you've done the right thing if he is as crappy as you say, but it must be taking it out of you. Have you got plenty support? (incidentally - at not buying Ellis a birthday present - I know they don't really know, but still).

PeachyWithTheBirthdayBas · 07/04/2009 22:15

MO , was bad enough MIL forgeting BAs (will be interesting tomorrow to see if anything comes) but very mean for Father i think.

I am sure you amde up for it with love and fun though, that's all they care about at 1.

LadyBee · 07/04/2009 22:23

I can't do it, I can't, I can't - I miss you all to much

Hello, my name is LadyBee, and I am a Mumsnetolic.

Oh well, we got our wedding guest list done, I went to a nearly-new sale, did my new meal plan, finally got a huge grocery order done etc. all of which probably would still be waiting if I hadn't made myself log off for a bit.

HAPPY BIRTHRDAY ROELOF AND BAS AND ELLIS and other babies I've missed.

Gosh, Sal, Roelof has really changed - is it his hair? Or is he de-chubbing? Still as cute as ever, he just looks more grown up (which is understandable, given that he's growing up )

Hello MadameOvary, nice to see you and very sorry to hear things have been a bit rough relationship-wise. You sound like you're putting you and Ellis first though, which has to be a good thing. And heavens! her first cold??? How did you do that? BabyBee is currently on his 100th or feels like it.

Ellie, I couldn't possibly pass up the chance to meet...I'm free whenever..well, what are the chances that my two May social events will end up on the same day

Hello VS and Scorpio and MHaH

hmmm, so what else. Oh yes, I'm down to one BF a day now, finally summoned up the courage to give a bottle in the mornings on Saturday and he took it absolutely fine, I was so worried he'd complain because he really pulls at my top and "asks" for feeds. But he obviously doesn't mind where he gets his milk and I still get a lovely cuddle so only felt a little sad. Will give up the final evening one at some stage, when it feel right

EllieG · 07/04/2009 22:24

Ooo - I forgot to say (sorry to be mememe but I was SO pleased) - Molly didn't cry when I left her at nursery today! When we went in her little lip started to go, then I saw her keyworker and I said 'Look! It's Emily here to play with you' and gave her to her to cuddle and distract and when I said bye to Molly, she was, if not happy, at least resigned to me going, and no tears. AND she went down for a nap there and ate all her lunch and snacks. She wouldn't touch her bottle - she doesn't like taking it from anyone but me though so I think I will go with that, have milk and cuddly mummy and molly time morning and evening, and she can have her breakfast at nursery instead.

EllieG · 07/04/2009 22:25

LADYBEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

WE MISSED YOU!!!!

LadyBee · 07/04/2009 22:25

hello Peachy!

EllieG · 07/04/2009 22:26

Oo - also forgot - scorpio - how is R doing today?

LadyBee · 07/04/2009 22:28

Ellie Molly is such a little star! She's doing so well getting used to this new enviroment and people v quickly...and how do you find it being without her? Getting used to not listening for her? Are you back at work already or is that still to come? questions questions...

EllieG · 07/04/2009 22:34

I am missing her like crazy! Is like having a limb not there suddenly - but am getting used to it. Today was the first time I relaxed a bit, because the last session was more positive, and it made a huge difference her not crying when I left her. That always leaves me in bits, sap that I am. She'll probably cry tomorrow and will all go back to square one! Back to work on tues unfortunately - went in to meet with manager today to talk about what will be doing - in at the deep end a bit, but I would prefer to be back in the thick of things to take my mind off it.

Your wedding plans are coming on aren't they? Does that mean your scary budget is working? When is the big day anyway? What you doing? I love wedding talk. And weddings in general - have had two meself so am obviously partial to them .

SalLikesCoffee · 07/04/2009 22:37

MO, must be really hard, but you sound strong, and if this is the best for you and Ellis, then it'll all be worth the difficult bits in the end, when you can look back later.
Oh, and a belated happy birthday to you too.

LADYBEE!!! Sorry, but I can't tell you how glad I am you failed! Was lovely seeing your name earlier.

Ellie, that's great. She seems to be adjusting really quickly, and her keyworker being lovely with her is perfect. Bet she's a little favourite there already!

Ladybee, yes, I had to laugh when I looked at earlier pics of Roelof! He has lost loads of weight (it's because he's very active now - running up and down the hallway with his walker thingy or on is knees with his wheelybug), and seems to slowly but surely growing hair, haha. He's such a little boy now, I really can't believe it. Went a bit soppy over the weekend, looking at his new-born photos. Almost reconsidered my "waiting for a good while yet" plan!

EllieG · 07/04/2009 22:51

I got a bit broody in the park at the weekend at the sight of a mum with her little newborn, who must've been days old. I said as much to DH and he said 'ARE YOU MAD! Don't you remember what it's LIKE?!!!! Cos I can remind you...' and went on to discuss in detail the effects of sleep deprivation and crying etc etc

SalLikesCoffee · 07/04/2009 22:57

Hahaha, Ellie. Yep, I think there should be a rent-a-colic-baby for moments like these

VictorianSqualor · 08/04/2009 09:01

Happy Birthday Henry, Lexie Bea, Alasdair, James, Zara and Jasmine(for tomorrow).
And extra special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bas and Jack

MO, so sorry you're going through this, I know how tough it can be, I split with DD&DS1's knobber when DS was 8 months. He has fucked up countless times with birthdays/xmas/christening and is just generally useless. Thankfully DP is an amazing doting father and they love him very much.

Sooo, this time a year ago was a day before my due date I was meant to be having a CS tomorrow and calling up the hospital to cancel. Can't believe it's been a year.

Got the funeral tomorrow, I've offered to stay at MiL's and look after all the children during the actual service, feel a bit bad that I'm not going to be there for DP but at the same time I'm pretty useless at funerals and sob uncontrollably so probably a good thing I'm not going! Also, it would've been my Dad's birthday tomorrow so it's an emotional day for me anyway.

OP posts:
EllieG · 08/04/2009 09:13

Sounds like will be a tough day for you and yours tomorrow VS - make sure you take care of yourselves OK?

Molly didn't cry again! She even smiled at her keyworker! Is a special easter day and all the kids were dressed up - one had the most brilliant creme egg costume I have ever seen - was a round frame, covered in painted tinfoil, and the little girl had a white top on with a yellow yoke. Fantastic - and clearly much less lazy parents than me . Mol wasn't dressed up cos they forgot to tell me it was on, so they said they would lend her some bunny ears for a photo

ThePFJ · 08/04/2009 09:27

We had a great day... thanks Peachy! Hope Lexie had a great day too!

Isn't the weather fabulous for birthdays

It's time for Jack's immunisation today though... what an anticlimaxa for him.. poor baba.
Here's hoping all our April babies have great birthdays.

xxx

mmm minieggs...

TheShipsCat · 08/04/2009 10:16

Happy birthday for yesterday, Bas and Jack! Glad you had lovely days!

Welcome back, LadyBee, glad you couldn't stay away for long!

Ellie - great news about nursery and not crying. I am sure she's enjoying herself, lots of different toys and interesting things to look at.

Sal - great news on Peru. I hope you have a fab time. Presumably you won't be doing the formula thing by then - that was really hard while we were on holiday. (Clean hot water and clean bottles etc).

Hello, PFJ!

VS - I hope your day is OK today.

We've decided to move into a different time zone here. DH used to get the 8.15 train to work, and would be home at 8pm on a good day. But the girls were missing him too much, and this week he's catching the 6.15am and home at 6.30/7pm. It's quite weird, and I feel a bit guilty that he commutes, does a day's work and then has to help putting the dds to bed, but they are loving it. And we are going to bed early - and even finding time for sex . Amazing. It's so nice having an evening with him.

SuzeMcG · 08/04/2009 11:33

Hi, I thought I'd drop in as it is the first birthday month.

VS, sorry about your DP's grandfather.

Peachy, hope it works out with your DH's job. We were really lucky and my DH was kept on, fingers crossed for you guys.

Madameovary, sorry you've had a tough time.

Ellie, glad Molly is settling at nursery. My original plan was to go back to work when E turned two, but if something suitable comes up in the meantime, I'll definitely apply. I think if I wait too long before going back to work, it might go against me. There is a great nursery nearby but they have a waiting list.

E is in great form and she is delighted with herself now she is finally crawling. Recent photo

I'm off again, hope you are all doing well and happy birthday to all the babies!
