Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ScorpiowithabigS · 04/04/2009 14:00

Yeah I've been to Turkey, seen Ephesus, etc, and don't really fancy there again! The men over there are awful and it kinda ruined it all. Was gorgeous weather though.

DH says its 38c in Bangkok today

SalLikesCoffee · 04/04/2009 14:03

Ah but see, I'm no stunner, so I'll be safe, lol! Am rather excited about this now, have looked at flights and everything. Now just to sort dates etc and persuade all bosses in question.

Am VERY jealous of your dh, how nice! (except perhaps about the hours spent in the gym, I'm not so keen on that myself...)

ScorpiowithabigS · 04/04/2009 14:17

He is doing so well in the gym, about 6-7 hours a day at the moment, bless him. Cannot wait to get him home....

Ahhh see i'm no stunner either LOL but it was awful - i was 15, and they literally just swwarmed me and my (blonde) sister, my Dad had to rescue us . I enjoyed the cultural things there though.

ScorpiowithabigS · 05/04/2009 14:51

Where are you all please???

ScorpiowithabigS · 05/04/2009 14:52

Happy Birthday Ellis - MadameOvary, i saw you on MN the other day; How are things? Hope you're well

TheMightyBoosh · 05/04/2009 18:37

Have been out having a glorious birthday celebration with BAs, family and his Godmother / kids.

Hysterical laughter from bas at the mad sheep climbing the fence to steal our food bags from us (animal food LOL) and a generally wonderful day.

SalLikesCoffee · 05/04/2009 19:09

Happy birthday to Ellis, MO!

Peachy, made me laugh, imagining Bas bursting out laughing! Sounds like the perfect day!

Quiet weekend here. I'm uploading pics as we speak, as family back home have been nagging since Friday!

SalLikesCoffee · 05/04/2009 19:12

Sorry Scorpio, didn't mean to ignore you there! How are you doing without dh? Sounds all good (as in a good sense, not not missing him! ), but bet you can't wait for his return?

How's the kickboxing going? Muscles settled yet or still in pain after classes?

I did consider joining a gym again, but I suspect my body will shut down from the shock...

ScorpiowithabigS · 05/04/2009 19:14

Oh i'm doing just fine without him actually, i do miss him loads but we speak alot plus FB each other, so its not too bad.

My thoughs hurt from squatting and kicking and punching, but im doing ok and am going to start Tuesdays as well now.

I cannot wait for him to get home, but he is having an amazing time & that was kinda the point

ScorpiowithabigS · 05/04/2009 19:14

Thighs, not thoughs lol

SalLikesCoffee · 05/04/2009 19:21

Oh that's good.

Hehe, had to laugh at "thoughs" - I read "thoughts", and that just about sums up my approach to gyms...

ScorpiowithabigS · 05/04/2009 19:22

it will do you good, Sal, even just the rush from doing something iyswim.

EllieG · 05/04/2009 19:46

Happy Birthday Ellis!

Back later to catch up lots to do

Glad Bas had a good party peachy/mightyboosh

SalLikesCoffee · 05/04/2009 20:42

Awwwwwww....bless his little cotton socks..what a little cutie!

I have fu*ked up with Molly's party. Right. Here is the longish tale. A friend of mine who's baby was born 4 days after said to me 'Hey! We should have a joint party!' I agreed despite not really wanting to cos I am stupid and a wuss and hate to upset people. Bit later she then said 'Oh x has asked if her boy can join the party too' to which I also agreed. I told DH and he said 'Um it's not really our daughter's first birthday party then is it? And there'll be loads of people I don't know and will just seem like a mother and baby group'
And my Mum and Dad don't want to go so I ring friend and say sorry, it was OK when just us two but tbh has got a bit big, DH not happy, would you be very offended if I pulled out and did something smaller? She says no, will tell x I want to do a more family thing.

I then organise a picnic in park for the day before but say to friend can you not mention to X until I have talked to her as don't want her to get wrong idea. She starts off about how I have put her in an awkward position (implying I am making her lie etc) and I say sorry didn't mean to. I cancel everything and say I am just going to have family round for tea is too hard. Realise we will be invited to other party too so not only will Mol not get a party, she will have to go to the other one and will be embarrassingly not-Molly's. So what was the point in me making a fuss? Nothing. All very crap. Am speaking to X tomorrow as I texted her to check she wasn't offended and she was'nt but said friend was. Oh dear. I didn't mean to!

SalLikesCoffee · 05/04/2009 22:45

Oh noooo, Ellie! For what it's worth, I think you handled it perfectly and tactfully. Urgh, some people are just a bit oversensitive - she probably thinks you don't want to with her anymore! Talk to this other woman tomorrow, say you're upset at the thought of having hurt friend a, bla bla bla. The message will get to your friend, and she'll hopefully understand this is because of Molly, nothing to do with the adults. Good luck.

I think go ahead, have a fabulous, really special picnic for just the lot of you. Molly will love it, as she'll get everyone's attention, and it will be something special for your dh too.

(I'm more a private kind of person, so I'm a little with your dh on that, so think you did the right thing!)

PS: People are strange, even if you love them!

EllieG · 05/04/2009 22:52

Thanks sal - I think you are right. I will try to stop feeling silly now! I am daft though - if had just said right from the off, no, I think we'll do our own thing, would have avoided all of this. Lessons learned eh?

Right, am off to bed. 'laters x

EllieG · 05/04/2009 22:53

Oo forgot to ask - when are you free in May sal?

ScorpiowithabigS · 06/04/2009 09:08

Ellie, she is a bit silly if she is getting offended over a birthday party, tbh! IMO anyway. You can do what ever you want to for Molly; even if you attend the other party as a guest.

We are going to the zoo - our family & our friends family too - so 4 adults and 6 children. Then will have cake for tea at ours, with my parents.

ScorpiowithabigS · 06/04/2009 09:16

Reilly's dad and his partner have split up - They had been together 4 years (ish), and considering Reilly is 6 thats a big part of his life; what to say? ideas? Bearing in mind the dyspraxia/understanding.

Cheryl was/is lovely; I'm a little bit sad. Always knew she was far too good for him, lol.

VictorianSqualor · 06/04/2009 10:14

Can you speak to her first to find out if she plans on staying in touch with him?

OP posts:
TheShipsCat · 06/04/2009 10:20

Glad Bas had a lovely (early) birthday, Peachy.

Sorry about your party plans, Ellie, what a shame. But I think you did exactly the right thing, and I am sure they'll understand.

Lovely pics, Sal!
I am glad you like the look of Ephesus etc. Its probably quite a long way for a weekend. Its so baby friendly there - I've been remembering our holiday there and dd1 had a great time. We sat around drinking beers while all the market people looked after her, giving her presents and cherries - with stones in - . The only thing was that they think yoghurt is the cure for everything from sunburn to excema to mosquito bites - and kept smearing her in it. And she was allergic to dairy, so of course her excema got worse! But men kept taking her off to play shesh besh - we've got cute photos of that, and she had a reallly fun time!

ScorpiowithabigS · 06/04/2009 11:00

VS - she does intend on seeing Reilly still, at least for now anyway.

Denny185 · 06/04/2009 11:09

Morning all, sorry been a bit crap at coming on lately, just taken an age to catch up as my punishment.

Happy belated b-days to all those I have missed, Sal love the pics R looks like he had a lovely time.

Thanks to all the bday wishes for Aeryn, I made her 2 cakes one to take to creche (but she slept for the whole 2 hours and missed it) and then another for just the family at home. Apart from that it was similar to any other day although she did enjoy her new bath toys. I cant believe the last year has gone so quickly.

Off to gym in a minute to try and burn off the whole easter egg I ate last night damm DH's shifts he wasnt here to catch me so I keep going, mmmmm chocolate, Easter is my favourite time of the year.
