dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 10:39

buckets do you mean you don't have an eternity pool

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 10:50

steaky would cost us just short of £800 to get to Carcassone so doubt we'll be over in the summer

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 27/03/2009 10:58

Ok so I was with someone and their dcs last tuesday. This Tuesday they didnt come as the dcs have chicken pox.
I have a feeling my dcs are going to get it.
The bad thing is if they do, the rash will appear around the time of the christening.

Like I need something else to worry about, I cant possibly cancel it again.
I r5ealize4 I am probably fretting for nothing, but wouldnt it just be bloody typical if they do.

cyteen · 27/03/2009 11:05

Morning all

Sympathies to all with streaming babes and no1 I do hope your littlies miss out on the pox.

I was here last night and have to thank you all for keeping me entertained but now can't remember much about what I was going to catch up on so will just say welcome back Sazzles and yay that you had such a lot of fun with TS at the beach

I am all of a tizzy today as it's the hen weekend! My friend is picking me up at 1.30pm for our drive to the Cotswolds, leaving DP behind with DS I'm so excited nervous oh I don't know what I feel! The thought of being away from Joe is so weird, I expect I shall wake up several times in the night thinking 'where is he?' (unless I'm insensible with drink of course). I brought him into bed with us at 4am this morning as I needed a little extra cuddle

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 27/03/2009 11:09

aww cyteen I susoect yo will feel somewhat naked without ds. I do when In go out for a few hours.
Of course you will miss him, but it will do you the world of good to be yourself, let your hair down.(not that I am suggesting you are not yourself iykwim)
I hope you have a fabulous time, just think of it as dh getting some one on one bonding time too, It will be great for him too.

T

Sorry for bad spelling mistakes as usual

I was thinking of that beautiful place you are going to stay in this weekend. very

cyteen · 27/03/2009 11:17

You should see the dinner menus!

I know you're right and I am certainly looking forward to a weekend off duty, as it were. DP is also really looking forward to spending some one on one time with Joe and I have been diligently expressing for weeks so that the freezer is bursting with little white bags Was having nightmares the last few nights about accidentally leaving the door ajar and it all having to be thrown away...

The stupid thing is, I'll only be about an hour and a half's drive away, it's not like I'm going to Scotland (sorry dizzy ). In fact DP is picking me up on the Sunday when he comes back from his parents' house.

Sibh · 27/03/2009 11:23

Have a lovely time, Cyteen.
The rest will be a great thing.

I'm not sure whether I'll be on for a meet-up as vertigo is one of the odd things I've got at the moment. The doctor said I shouldn't drive up to Cork again until he has seen me at the beginning of next week. I'll need to explain to him that Aug08 business is v. important and cannot be deferred.

A bit disheartened to discover that Ireland has fewer neurologists than any other country in Europe (ranked 40 out of 40) and waiting times are 18 months to 2 years, private or public.

LoveBuckets · 27/03/2009 11:23

Nope, not even an eternity ring.

No1, it's no biggy, you can just dope them both up with Calpol and Nurofen and hand them over to GPs to take home early to protect any possible pg ladies. I don't remember ever being invited to look at someone's christening album so wouldn't worry about the pictures. Obv hope it doesn't happen though.

Haver just had an almost weepy moment again at how much Kurt loves me and wants me to know it. With Noah it was confusing because I did secretly feel there was a bonding issue but all the parenting info talks about parents not bonding with their babies, not the other way around. Nobody ever blames the baby! Kurt's just started chatting a bit more now too, not just gabbling when he's cross, and also yapping at people to get their attention. I really feel like he's my reward for all the hard work I've put in with Noah - something that's not just random.

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 11:30

Thanks so much for all the support, and VG-the offers of practical help are much appreciated too. If I need help in the Dublin area my DC would be most amenable to buns. The treatment thingummy plan might be a route forward. My youngest sister is looking into that too.

It dawns on me that if I have vertigo, I have the best claim to the title of her Royal Dizziness and I will tussle with Dixie for it when she gets back from the dentists. [sticking out tongue emoticon]

Buckets - your post gave me a great lift I have to say. You so deserve all the affection Kurt can shower on you, on his and Noah's behalf. Bask in it.

I do believe I haven't welcomed Sazzles and TS back - hello, my dears.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 27/03/2009 12:03

sibh that is bad and far too long a wait.
vg so lovely of you to offer help.

buckets passing dcs on to gp
Wouldnt happen here I'm afraid. lol

cyteen · 27/03/2009 12:08

VG he might be glad to see the back of me now, i've just bonked his head off the wall in a careless coming-down-the-stairs moment x 1 million.

PetitFilou1 · 27/03/2009 12:08

cyteen Oh enjoy it. If you have more children it will become practically impossible. Spread your wings and fly lady -tis only for a weekend

buckets More than happy to come visit you in the Summer if it isn't when we are on hols - are you sure you are ready for my three though ?

Toby has just yelled and yelled for food and is finally placated after one pot of parsnip pea and apple and half a pot of homemade puree of roast dinner.

Oh and ps don't bother with eyelash dyeing if you are brunette - you can't blardy tell the difference as I know I've tried

Haircut tomorrow but it is the £12 mobile hairdresser who is very good but the pampering isn't really there when you are at home with all the children around you.....

PetitFilou1 · 27/03/2009 12:09

dizzy an infinity pool not an eternity pool - lol

PetitFilou1 · 27/03/2009 12:10

cyteen No you can't possibly go now

PetitFilou1 · 27/03/2009 12:11

sibh I believe you can actually have a viral form of vertigo - hope nothing more serious

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 12:32

ROFL, good point PF - showing myself up for the hillbilly I am

and no tussling for the title needed, you're more in need than me

am back to feeling sorry for myself after emergency root canal treatment

now, where did I put that arnica?!?!?

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 12:35

right am off to feed Dylan and spend some time with DH and DD2 - will be back later to let you know how I get on once am finally inside the place

cyteen have a lovely lovely time

sibh, no overdoing it please

Miamla · 27/03/2009 12:41

petitfilou well i do hope you had your beautiful eye-liner on before giving me a paddington stare

oops re photo.. thank you. i'm willing to bet that the cat doesn't hang around near DD anymore waiting to be puked on!

buckets southampton very "do-able" for me so yeah! put me down for it

vg good grief girl! i'm all up for the grand tour but really, do we have to have a murder? i'd rather not!
and with all this talk of makeup, you lot are going to have me out of my trainers at this rate and into some sort of heeled thing!

dizz i'm so pleased you're getting to see the dentist sooner than your appt for next year

sibh you poor thing. could the doc not give you any more clues as to what's wrong?

cyteen i hope you have a really lovely weekend. i know what you mean about feeling naked without DS. i feel strange just popping out for an hour without him.

you'll have to fight me for the bad mum award this morning though... DS just managed to climb on top of a box (same height as the step that he couldn't do yesterday!) He was looking v pleased with himself so i grabbed camera, and turned it on just before he nose planted himself off the edge onto the floor. fortunately v soft thick pile carpet so a cuddle fixed everything but i need some of your s please!

Miamla · 27/03/2009 12:45

oh and my sleeping beauty from last night changed into a chatterbox at midnight. Cue me trying not to encourage him by laughing at him. it took a couple of hours to convince him to stop chatting for long enough to have a feed!
