Longway I did the fall asleep bit last night and woke to Reese laying draped across me snoring. I don't like that panic feeling when you KNOW you've fallen asleep mid care giving.

SEVEN teeth!!! I feel very strongly that's why Reese is not happy. She's just fussy and crying aaaaallll the time. Sazzles can confirm, Reese is NOT a fussy baby at all.

Enjoy your pizza.

Expectant · 27/03/2009 04:14

7 teeth wow! We have 3 - 2 bottom and 1 eye tooth.

I suppose a Singapore meet up is out of the question?!

DS woke at 4am with a temperature (he'd been noisy all night but I was trying to ignore him ). Administered some calpol and a breast and he went back to sleep. Woke again at 6am and felt cooler although his forehead still felt quite warm.

Am getting very about the fact that I was so determined to bf to the extent that I nearly had to visit a plastic surgeon because of the chunck that appeared to be missing from my nipple at one point in the first few weeks and DS refuses the bottle and still seems to get a never ending stream of viruses. Maybe I should just have ff from day one then I wouldn't have been worried about weight, someone else could have fed him, I might have got more than 3-4 hours sleep in a row and if he was going to be a sicky baby it wouldn't make any difference that I was passing on immunity to him or not.

Aargh maybe just sleep deprivation talking - sorry about the rant. I just find it hard that he seems to have had more colds and things in his 7 1/2 months than I've had in nearly 33 years. I suppose I'm just lucky and am hardly ever sick and thought this would pass on to him. I don't think I'm a control freak but finding having something or someone so completely out of my control a little difficult at times.

PetitFilou1 · 27/03/2009 09:55

miamla that's enough

Not functioning well here - 3 wake ups for two of my children and up since 5.10am. Feel like I am hallucinating.

expectant Sorry you are feeling this way. The immunity thing drops off after 6 months and they do start to get more colds etc after that anyway. If it helps Toby gets a lot of colds too but so did dd as a baby and now she is hardly ever ill (the GP comments on it when she does have to go in as it is so rare an occasion). Also not all bf babies wake up a lot in the night (none of mine have) so this is not necessarily related. You sound exhausted and fed up and that is the main thing for all of us I think. And the control thing is also pertinent and something you have to get used to as they get older as well..... Oh am wittering as so tired but

oopsacoconut · 27/03/2009 10:12

Morning all

Who has the matchsticks? DD slept fantastically until 3am then cried for 45minutes and nothing would console her. she eventually fell asleep at 4.30 put her down she woke every 20mins from there on until 6.30 when I brought her into bed and she slept until 8. Now she is grizzling and I'm going to put her down for a nap - she, unsurprisingly, is exhausted!

Miamla Maybelline Great Lash mascara in brown not black (the pink and green packaging) and a pack of make up removing facial wipes - that's all you need and you can bung them in your supermarket trolley on the joint account. You don't need to use a whole wipe, just tear off a quarter strip for your whole face.

Potential Meetup Announcement
PILs have finally looked into equity release for their house so looks like DH might be off to New Zealand for 2 or 3wks later this year to chaperone them. Ladies, I shall desperately need company so will push for summer holidays so you can all come for a 3wk long Regency house party or 'at home' chez Buckets. Sadly no handsome young bucks to waggle our fans at though but Southampton's a good base for retail therapy, New Forest jaunts and Isle of Wight trips.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 27/03/2009 10:15

Morning all, I am so tired too and its only 10 o clock. Only 1 wake up last night too.
I should feel better. Maybe it was something to do with having a tiny section of bed as dd had the entire middle of the bed with nearly all her toy box.
I eventually got my tired lazy ass out of bed and put her in her own bed.

Not motivated to do anything today,I am saving myself for another mammoth shopping trip tomorow

at 7 teeth wow. I am siding with ts on this whinging lark being down to teething, I am sure I can see some just underneath the bottom gum. I hope they make an appearance soon, but not looking forward to being chomped on.
I fall asleep sometimes in night when feeding in the chair.Quite scary.
Hope the new job is going ok.

expectant hope the temp has come down.
I was also thinking the other day about bf and how M has had cold and cough almost since he was born.
My dh thinks the advantages of bf for ds are a load of rubbish.

expectant rant away, am sorry you're finding it so hard going. Trying to be rational when you're so tired is never easy and your exhaustion needs to be addressed before anything else. you've done remarkably well considering all that and you're not being a control freak wishing for more of a routine at this stage - I'm hankering after one too

pf sorry you had such a dreadful night, how far away are you from me? if you can manage the drive you can crawl into bed here and I'll deal with the rabble can you pick up oops on the way past too - sounds as if she needs some respite as well

not a brilliant night here either, Dylan up at 11.30pm till about 2am but then slept until just after 6am so at least I got a run of about 4hrs. DH on nights tonight so will probably be in with me if we have the same again

sazz I knew you'd be hankering after the blonde again! I'm going to have to get mine done this week before my jollys next wk

TS the Scottish meet up chat was about 600 threads ago was just throwing my toys out of the pram as usual!!

have phoned Dentist, who is on holiday asked to see other Dentist who is also on her day off [meep] best they could do was 10am on Monday morning. Few minutes later they phoned back saying that the other dentist was popping in for something and if I could manage to nip up (its in the street behind our house!) she'd have a look and see what she can do I still want to know why its only sore at nights?!?

faith in humanity restored somewhat today lovely dentist lady (if you can say that about a dentist ) and lovely chat with DH to sort everything out - am no longer a neurotic loon

meeting with landlord and surveyor at the cafe premises this afternoon - very excited!

vg think was under £10 and lasts around 6-8 weeks.

dizzy hope you get the tooth sorted very strange its only at night.
You sound bit more cheerful. the cafe thing does sound very exciting. I am so pleased for you

oopsacoconut · 27/03/2009 10:27

Buckets we are only an hour from you so will gladly come visit.

VG I've had my lashes done it was great as I have very blonde lashes and it looked great.

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 10:28

VG I get mine dyed blueblack (about once a year as I am so appalling with mascara I may as well just wipe it down my face) I think its about £10-£15 and can't remember how long it lasts

LOVING the sound of the grand tour although may I say VG is you are doing ours in reverse then use your TESCO vouchers for the ferry (we god from Larne to Troon as I hate the Stranraer road) and then all you have to do is head to Fife seriously though, Fife is beautiful, has coastal cycling paths is near to Edinburgh (for festival potential?) St Andrews and a short drive up north/highlands etc

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 10:29

buckets am considering chucking the kids in the car this summer and heading to everyone's houses to outstayourwelcome stay a wee while before moving on to someone elses

oopsacoconut · 27/03/2009 10:30

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 10:33

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 27/03/2009 10:35

lol dizzy

dizzydixies · 27/03/2009 10:36

TS have just looked at your photos they are fabulous how lovely, even DH said that its really nice that this has all happened as a result of this thread and he can be a right sceptical sod

LoveBuckets · 27/03/2009 10:37

Tis a cheap way to travel, no? Like camping but with built-in showers and kitchens. Sadly my house is not an isolated clifftop mansion with zero visibility through the mist across the deadly bogs. But there'd be plenty of room and there's even room for a small tent in the garden if anyone is deeply committed to the camping experience.

My flippin hairdo is postponed again - 2 wednesdays away now.

oopsacoconut · 27/03/2009 10:38

Okay DD has just vomited on the cat - I'm going back to bed and starting today again! Vomit covered cat run into hiding need to find him before she spreads it about. DD can't move so she can wait as there is no spreadage risk!
