LackaDAISYcal · 02/04/2009 21:57

northern ladies.......rutho has done an invitey thing on FB for a meet up week commencing 20th April in Sheffield/Rotherham. she might not have everyone on her FB friends list.....so if you haven't got an invite...speak now or forever hold your peace

I've had gin by the way so apols if I don't make sense.

ellielou02 · 02/04/2009 21:58

What are you classing as northern??? lol

ellielou02 · 02/04/2009 22:00

You must be feeling better daisy oh just realised we are going to alton towers that week is that near sheffield/rotherham??

LackaDAISYcal · 02/04/2009 22:07

Not much, but had a shitty afternoon with the DC which ended in me having a mummy meltdown and storming out of the house leaving DH to it right in the middle of getting them all to bed. I feel like I'm at the end of my parenting tether and gin is the only thing for it

LackaDAISYcal · 02/04/2009 22:09

alton towers is midlands somewhere....

ellielou02 · 02/04/2009 22:12

ah ok geography is crap I can find my way about scotland but will need to rely on the sat nav when in england!!

chocolategal · 02/04/2009 22:14

The meet up is a bit too far for me unfortunately.
Lots of hugs for you obs, hopefully this will all blow over very quickly!
Ellielou, my BIL works on the platform that the helicopter was coming from so you can imagine how shaken we've all been from it. Those poor families.

Barbs, I thought my DS was ready for weaning ( he is almost 19 weeks) so I tried him with a teaspoon of purée carrot which came straight back out so am now not even thinking about it for a good few weeks yet!

Yay for the outfit rosa!

Catch up with everything else tomorrow

PinkyMinxy · 02/04/2009 22:37

Steady on the gin, lacks, it always makes me weepy! lol.

Well I succombed to all you guys and your weaning and gave Mimi some potato but she pushed it out and dribbled all over herself, so maybe a week or so to wait here. She wasn't completely averse to the notion, though.

Glad things are going well, cricri and barbs LB that is wonderful news! I am so happy for you!

rosa glad you got your outfit sorted.

juanitad · 03/04/2009 07:36

Morning all

just a v quick post - am going into work today (and getting paid for it, yippee!) so am leaving P with DH. The longest he's had him on his own before is about 2 hours, so he coud be in for an interesting day! Luckily I live 5 mins from work so can come home at lunch time to rescue DH feed P and will be finished for the day at 3. Will report back later!

LadyBuzz · 03/04/2009 07:42

Obs that is shocking, hope you are OK and everything works out. It winds me up that you go and ask for help and they go and make you feel a whole lot worse by coming out with that sht! Ceebee* did you swap your baby? what a difference! still cute too!

Londonboots of your US trip, we got alot of Oshkosh and gap stuff and levis for us. Sportswear is alot cheaper too, hope you have a fab time!

Rosa glad you have an outfit.

Jay has learned to blow raspberries, so cute and so very dribbly .
He also LOVES his babywalker, his legs are too short to touch the floor but he loves to be upright and be able to see what is going on!

Hi to everyone else

MummyNic · 03/04/2009 08:16

Morning all. Another 12 hour night!!! And we're not even weaning - I love my son!!!!

J is already dressed for the day, I've put a wash load on but I fear it is just the start of about 5 I need to do... I'm sooo not a Stepford wife!!!

Ellie I had a blow out on Mothers Day - the thoughtful gift of a DVD tipped me over the edge. I actually wanted to stab DH, and told him so. I cried all day. I thought we were really over this time and that's exactly what I wanted, I'd have the same amount of help (none) but less washing to do (he kindly leaves his pants on the floor for me to pick up).

In the end I wrote him a letter. He spends a lot of time turning his car into a track car and I see weekends as 'oh good, I can have a few hours break' he sees tham as 'Oh good, I can do my car'. So we have quite a lot of conflict. I have come up with a compromise and, crucially, have said that we need to discuss on a Fri night exactly what we want to do at the weekend.

Seems to have worked....

But not holding my breath!!!!

MonkeyMargot · 03/04/2009 09:09

Obs that seems so ridiculous - I truly hope the social services people realise how silly your GP is being.

lacks congrats on losing a stone - good effort girl, although a horrible way to lose it.

chocO no offence taken at the chubster comments- she IS a chubster!
CriCri wow, snap! I didn't realise E was such a big girl too. Great that she's starting to sleep in her cot.

Rutho nice to see you back.

got to go
x

coolkat · 03/04/2009 10:40

Just a quick one as got Physio.

I have woken up and am feeling more sick than yesterday and still got upset tum. Starting to feel paranoid that could be pregnant! We have never not used precautions but you know how your mind starts thinking! Sick of feeling sick. On a positive note lost 5lbs! I am sure once start eating prop this will come back....

Daisy sorry things got a bit much yest.

Obs I dont know what to say x

Sorry to see DW having hard time. x

Sorry to everyone I have missed, sure going to have crossed posts as started typing this half hour ago!

Oblomov · 03/04/2009 11:47

Morning. Soory to her Coolkat is not good. Glad Rosa sorted for christening.

Think P case has made all GP's over .. anxious. I had never met her before. she is my new Gp after old one retired. she too, like last one I saw last week, said i was not depressed. but she prescribed ad's, to help my mood, seratonin wise. that are not suitable for taking whilst bf'ing. great. she said "'well, if you are going to give up soon, they will be o.k., in the short term". I don't want to take them. have made an appointment to go back and see a different gp in a week. she wanted to see me again in a week, but after her phone call at home, saying report me to ss, I think not.
Must just try not to worry. wait and see what ss say.

Sorry. lets talk about something nice.

Had playground mum round for coffee this morning. that was nice. and my work lunch on wed was fab. off to pick up ds early from school. he finishes at 12.10 today for easter. and we ar emeerting dh in the park, for a picnic.
so thats nice
think nice things
think nice things
mantra !!!!

Obs I've been put on Sertraline which are safest for bfing, I researched on MN/ internet and doc concurred ok to bf. U should ask for them? Sounds like a really crappy doc

Honeymoonmummy · 03/04/2009 16:40

Oh and Chocolategal I got my CD this morning, thanks very much. I'll try it tonight

MerryMarigold · 03/04/2009 16:48

sorry obs had to give a slightly sarcastic laugh that it's ok to give a 5mth baby unsuitable AD's thru breastmilk, yet 3 smacks in 5 yrs requires SS.

hana, if you take job will it be f/t? if i could get a p/t job that i liked and paid enough to cover childcare for 3 kids (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha), I would do it! there i said it. sometimes i wish i could just work a little bit. enough to pay the cleaner so i don't feel so guilty and give my brain something other to think about. but, hey, it is not gonna happen. which is maybe why i'd like it - perverse me.

hey norverners are meeting up again and we aren't. when? when? i'll do anywhere. i'll walk or drive for miles. whatever.

MerryMarigold · 03/04/2009 16:49

oh lacks. gin is my favourite too. i always threaten it but never do it. don't keep any in house, as it would be too tempting! i got my paul simon today

chocolategal · 03/04/2009 16:50

No probs honeymoon just hope it works for you!
coolkat sorry you are still feeling so rubbish! Hope physio went well
daisy how are you today? did the gin help?
Glad interview was a positive experience hana , its always nice to have options.
Sounds like a more positive day obs definately no picnic weather here today

chocolategal · 03/04/2009 16:51

x posts merrym that is so true about the double standards of ob's gp!!

It is nice to use brain hana. I fear mine has disappeared with sleep deprivation.

Need some advice guys, my Mum is offering to pay for a night nanny to come in for a week while parents go on holiday. They claim to be able to get the baby into good sleep routine, but I am not keen:
a) my house is a tip
b) it's heinously pricey. I'd rather have a holiday for that price!
c) I don't want someone telling me things that I am not up for doing "Bath every night..." etc.
d) If they use the method of letting baby cry back to sleep [even if they are patting/ rocking etc.] I shall be up anyway and unable to sleep, so a monumental waste of money.

Am I looking a gift horse in the mouth? My Mum keeps going on and on about it.

Oblomov · 03/04/2009 18:55

Hana, glad interview went well. When do you expect to hear ?
MerryM can't see point of accepting offer. Basics are that you would be paying someone to analyse babies, and then put them in a routine. Something you don't want and wouldn't maintain. And the point of that is ???
Think about what you REALLY want. Do you need a break. Regular practical help, one afternoon a week. or wahtever it is. And then ask your mum, "if you REALLYwant to know what I need, it is ......"

Dozymare · 03/04/2009 19:19

Hey everyone - it's the holidays!!! Yay!! I am sooooo looking forward to it!

merry I agree with obs if you want routine and some sort of structure, then there are enough of us routine queens on here who would help you for free!!! As you say, your not one to follow routine so agree waste of money - go away instead!

hana good luck with the job, is it working from home??? Funny how the old bnrain cells stop ticking once you are at home for a while.

obs did you hear back from the crap doctor??

Anyone got any exciting planned for weekend???
