Oblomov · 28/03/2009 18:19

Choc, I am going to sign. I ordered a signing book from the library and got it yesterday. Will start with milk, more, all gone.... the usuals.
At our next meet up, our babes may well be signing to eachother !! how cool would that be ?

LackaDAISYcal · 28/03/2009 18:20

spoke too soon; he is awake again!

Emmanj · 28/03/2009 18:45

Hi all!

thanks for the clocks reminder - totally forgot! LOL at getting revenge back on DD, as someome said!!

Ihave to say, how do you all find the time to post on MN so much, i really want to be on here more but just never seem to find enough time, and then when ive read throught he latest posts and go to reply, i cant remember who said what!!

choc orange - dinner sounds lovely, rib of beef my fave!

I was also thinking of doing a baby signing class so would be interested to hear how you are getting on woth it.

daisy good luck with teh NCT sale, didnt realsie they took so much commission though! Maternity clothes - i would have paid £10-20 for most items second hand, although more if its an outfit iyswim. £30? hope this helps.

Just like ot sya thanks to all who have welcomed me back on the thread - i did feel like abit of an intrufer - like i was reading someone elses diary!!! but i think im getting back into the swing of it now!

Its going quite well with the in-laws..mother in law asked when the nest baby will be!!!!!!!! didnt like to tell her it could be sooner than she thinks!!

Emmanj · 28/03/2009 18:47

sorry for appaling spelling by the way, quick typing errors as opposed to me not being able to spell!

Ceebee74 · 28/03/2009 19:44

Emmanj lol at the thought of your MIL's face if you are pg How long have you got until you find out?

Daisy good luck tomorrow - I have never been to an NCT sale but my colleague is evangelical about them - when we finally decide to get rid of all the baby stuff, I think I will do an NCT sale rather than Ebay - seems a bit easier.

Dozy lol at all those cute dresses - you really were born to have a girl weren't you

Choc your dinner party sounds yum - my weekend evenings are spent pretty much like Daisys - tidying up!!

Meet-ups I have been thinking about how lovely it would be if we could have a huge meet-up for as many people as possible (Northerners and Southerners) - what do you all think? We had one on my other PN group although only 4 people turned up Anyway, I was thinking if we picked a day in the summer holidays and made it a 'family day out' with older sibs/DH's. The woman who organised the other one researched venues and we eventually went to Warwick Castle as it was about as central we could get plus had stuff to do/places for a picnic etc. So good idea or bad idea?? What do you think ladies? And would anyone be interested?

LackaDAISYcal · 28/03/2009 20:10

At least your MIL is excited about another grandchild emmanj; when we told MIL last year that I was pregnant.....did she offer congratulations? Nope, what she came out with was "I can't possibly have six grandchildren!" Oh, yes MIL, cos it's all about you isn't it???

Whole thread meet up sounds good Ceebee. I've been checking out campsites in the area and we could combine it with a camping weekend as we wanted to get away with the tent more this summer (wonders for the millionth time...Am I mad???)

juanitad · 28/03/2009 20:21

Daisy, see you at the NCT sale tomorrow! I am going to see what bargains I can bag!!

Think I will go to bed now - ridiculously early, but P has worn me out today. At around 3 months, I remember thinking to myself "it's getting much easier now, great!". The 4 month mark seems to have changed all that though - velcro baby and all that! I keep repeating Daisy's mantra to myself - this too shall pass!!!

MerryMarigold · 28/03/2009 20:29

I'd love to meet up with you lot, feels like we know each other so 'well' and yet never even spoken on the phone to you. I've only ever met barbs and some people from the twins thread. Thinking of buying a tent... But not sure I could do a night with all 3 on my own! That's all folks. G'night.

PS. Dear SS. You may reveal yourself on FB if you like!

MerryMarigold · 28/03/2009 20:32

Oh ChocO, your food sounds sooooooo lovely. Creme brulee is my favourite (to eat not cook).

MonkeyMargot · 28/03/2009 20:42

Ooh ChocO hope you have a fab dinner soiree. Food does sound yum!

MerryM thank you my SS!! Loved your gifts, truly!
Ooh I love the 2 fat ladies. So sad one of them died. And scallops - well, they rock.

Londonboots well done M on rolling over! My girl has showed little signs of doing so yet. But she has spent all day today shrieking with laughter - she loves me singing to her - especially:-
IamTheMusicMan - and the Oomp-Pa-Oomp-Pa-Oomo-Pa-Pa!! Verse! She goes nuts!

I would love to do meetup. How about you all come down to the South of France?
Warwick Castle would suit fine ceebs

Emmanj · 28/03/2009 21:05

juanitad - good night - having same 4 month issues with DD, glad its not just me!!

LOL at MIL comments daisy!!!! love the way they manage to ruen evrything round to themselves...sounds familiar!!!

ceebee meet up sounds good, i am in the south...anyone else in Essex?

barbareebaa · 28/03/2009 21:52

ooh! A big meet up? That would be fab!
daisy My mum wouldn't stop going on about how all her other grandchildren have birthdays around november (how inconsiderate of me ) My mum is fab btw!
Emmanj Am in East London - south Woodford - that's almost Essex is it?
baby signing definitely going to give it a go - used to teach communication skills to people with learning difficulties and used loads of makaton which I think is similar to the signs used for baby signing. But I think it doesn't matter as long as both parties understand what's being said!

Co-slept again last nightbut still knacked my back so put a question about it on sleep.

Pah! The boy is awake agoin!. Bum bum bum

I haven't been that silly with my prices hana.....although I am trying to charge £9 for a pair of leather pram shoes....they cost £18 and bumble only wore them once as his ankles are too thick so they are like new really.

If it all sells, which I doubt, we will stand to make about £250, after the NCT have taken their cut. And the sad thing is, that's only the tip of the baby iceberg in this house.

I'm trying to sell my big pram that I bought for DD and only used the carrycot, so the stroller bit of it/cosytoes has never been out the bag. I've put £150 on the label (whole thing cost over £300). It sounds a lot, but someone is getting a practically new 2-in-1 pram

I feel like shit . cold getting worse; keep flushing hot and cold, infected wound sore and itchy and my throat hurts real bad when I cough....which is frequently

ChocOrange05 · 28/03/2009 23:14

Just finished our dinner party and DH has convinced me not to wake M for a feed (we usually wake him at 10 but were going to postpone it till 11). Considering he doesn't always (50/50) sleep through 11-7 I think this is risky. I am gearing up for a 1/2am wake up.

Night all. x

ChocOrange05 · 28/03/2009 23:20

Oh and on the singing song thing - recently M has been really unhappy feeding - latching on/off breast and crying and sometimes gasping for the bottle but then spitting it out, and the only thing that calms him is me singing to him . I sing the two songs I sang while I was pregnant - I have a theory that he starts eating and being quiet sharpish when I do this so as to get me to stop singing - I am a pretty awful singer! It does make me feel very special though.

Glad the party went well choc, good luck with the not waking for a feed, let us know how it goes as im thinking of trying to cut this feed out too but am scared of the 1/2am possibilty too!

Goodnight all, im off to sleep in DDs room with her on a v uncomfy sofa bed as parents in law have our bedroom, !

barbareebaa · 29/03/2009 08:00

A big meet up sounds fab!!

Oblomov · 29/03/2009 09:46

Morning. Hope Daisy feels better soon. I have quite a cold. I was bf M and I couldn't reach the tissues in time. And snot dribbled into his EAR. Gross. Poor little love !!

Emmanj · 29/03/2009 09:49

Also sending you feeling better vibes daisy

Hi ellielou, party sounds fun! i know what you mean about nto wanting to do DIY, ive got a list of stuff as long as my arm that needs doing round the house, but have just resigned self to the fact that its not gunna happen!

Im inspired by you all to make up nursery rhyme songs etc, treid singing this morning to DD when she was having her bottle, and it really helped as shes been a little monky with feeding lately!

Emmanj · 29/03/2009 09:50

LOL at ear dribbling oblomov!!!!

Oblomov · 29/03/2009 09:54

I can't believe how creative you all are either. No making up of rhymes here - just the normal ones. M likes old macdonald best.
Ds sings him:
"build you up, one another
build you up, sisters and brothers"

"plant a little seed, watch it grow"

he likes both of those.

ellielou02 · 29/03/2009 10:20

We didnt make them up either DD1 has a book!
M liked
"sleep little baby"
and
"incy wincy spider"
LOL obs at M,s ear!!

LadyBuzz · 29/03/2009 10:23
