LOL Rutho i'm so glad i'm not the only crazy one who makes up silly songs about nappies etc

Here is our version of a nappy song to tune of Kay, Sera Sera...

Oscar is just a little boy, he's soiled his nappy but what will it be?
Will it be soggy?
Will it Poo?
We'll have to wait and see...

(Look in nappy at this point)

It's a (Soggy or Pooey) one..
It's only a (Soggy or pooey) one
It's not a (soggy or pooey one)
It's a (Yeah you get it now!)

Always has O in fits of chuckles and dp and i too

ChocOrange05 · 28/03/2009 11:10

ladybuzz i know who you ss is - but its not me!! who's mine then, lovely doggy teddy that rattles??

I sing to M, to the tune of Iggle Piggle (no idea why, i've watched it once and it stuck):

"Yes your name is Macky Dacky
Macky Dacky chicken teriyaki"

Its really not as clever as anyone elses but we like it .

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 28/03/2009 11:21

lol at macky dacky chicken teryaki

We do
Finlay the grumpy baby,
hear the sound the sound of him crying, finlay the grumpy baby,
here comes finlay it's time to hide

you can guess the tune

and rutho you may borrow it!!

ewwwwww me this morning. One of my puncture wounds from my op has been a bit infected. the redness around it got worse, then started to get better, less red, but the wound itself was really raised. I wa having a prod at it this morning, as you do , and it burst open and all this greeny brown pus oozed out . Not sure whether to go to the doc or not; it looks so insignificant and not worth bothering about. I feel like shoite though, fluey and headachey, but that could just be the flu as I have a cough and a snotty nose.

And is anyone else looking at their peacefully, butter wouldn't melt in his mouth, baby in a slightly deranged slitty eyed, resentful fashion thinking "It's bloody well allright for you mate, you just sleep, never mind me who has seen every fecking hour on the clock for the third night running" and is seriously considering running away?

no, just me then

MerryMarigold · 28/03/2009 11:23

chocO, I know who your SS was, but it wasn't me! You do know her fairly well though . I'm sure she'll own up if she sees this. Surprising how many of us knew each other's!

Now who the pippin squins was mine? Own up!

Loving the songs - the soggy or pooey is brilliant.

rutho - I am in my dressing gown watching saturday kitchen. lovely. i plan to stay in all day (baby wiss has a cold) AND do NO HOUSEWORK. but maybe too unproductive for you.

monkeym, the 2 fat ladies did a lovely looking scallops dish today...with cornish cream.

MerryMarigold · 28/03/2009 11:27

now lacks, you need to get dh to do one of the night feeds with a bottle. it will give you a few hours in a row. just to retain some sanity. every hour is a complete killer. and you are infected and virusy as well, so please, please get some rest and get well.

MerryMarigold · 28/03/2009 11:29

am too tired to sing to these babies much but ds1 had lots. one that we still sing is "the teethie-pop kid is oli pop" to the tune of the milky bar kid! [slightly ironic, teeth cleaning song to tune of chocolate ad]. do like the macky dacky too... it's just as mad as iggle piggle!

LackaDAISYcal · 28/03/2009 11:57

merry, DH offered last night to sleep downstairs and have bumble with him, but I'm loathe to disturb his bed routine. Also, if DH just brings him downstairs for a feed, I'll still wake up, so then it makes sense for me just to feed him as he goes straight back to sleep, rather than DH have to bring him downstairs, heat a bottle and feed him as he will be wide awake after all that and he takes an age to go back to sleep if he is fully awake.

If only we could take our boobs off for the night

ChocOrange05 · 28/03/2009 12:01

merry your SS wasn't me - my person hasn't asked who theirs was so I won't say whose I was unless requested!!

Ceebee74 · 28/03/2009 13:07

Gosh - reading all these 'made-up' songs, I have realised how completely boring and uninventive I am I can't think of any songs that we have made up - just sing the plain old boring ones (apart from 'It's raining, it's pouring' where we substitute 'the old man' for whoever DS1 wants).

I am completely confused about all the SS stuff flying about - how come you all know whose each others was but not who was yours??? The Birthday Bear sounds like a fab idea

I wish I could opt for a slobby day today but got tons to do to clear the spare room - will breathe a huge sigh of relief in about 4 weeks when it has been emptied, redecorated and DS1 has moved into it - I hate the uncertainty of it not being quite done iyswim. Would actually love to pay someone to just come in and do it all....bit like on Changing Rooms

LB have a great date tonight - so sweet and great things are moving in the right direction

Rosa · 28/03/2009 13:08

Love the songs mine i with dd1 is
whose toes are those name ( that rhymes)
repeat x 2
Noses and toeses ..tickle xxxxxx

Then we have
Here comes grumpy xxxx
Lets get a smile back on your face
Fill that tum and clean that bum
Stop being grumpy and smile for mum ...!!
Daisy I will adopt the last line of row your boat I think its lovely and can change teh teddy to her bunny !

DD1 seems a bit better so might go to a party this pm !
MInirosa slept through again from 10 - 7 I am soooo hoping that we have cracked it . I am still shattered though !!!! I have been trying to tidy up every spare min I have but with dd at home yesterday she was being helpful ! Have a great weekend don't forget teh clocks !

Ceebee74 · 28/03/2009 13:20

Rosa they are great songs too

I haven't forgotten about the clocks (I assume they don't do anything as stupid in Italy??) - although I am not looking forward to having to get up at what would have been 6am tomorrow (we always try and start our day at 7am), I am looking forward to being able to wake DS1 up for a change - a little bit of revenge for every day he wakes us up at silly o'clock - is that mean??

MerryMarigold · 28/03/2009 13:24

thanks for reminder...need to go bed early if losing an hour. i'm still not dressed!

londonboots · 28/03/2009 13:42

M has learned to roll over! He did it last night when i was massaging him after his bath and thought it was a combination of fluke/no nappy/moisturiser but no, he now does it every time he is put down. so as soon as i think i can have a shower and leave him in one spot, that stage passes!! problem is that he's still not a fan of tummy time so gets over then cries cause he's on his tummy...and just woke up howling cause he had been sleeping on his side (for the first time) and ended up on his front... wow. it all happens so quickly. quite scary.

Rosa · 28/03/2009 13:44

Oh yes oh yes they certainly do ...Infact on the news it said that there will be a saving of thousands of kilowatts to which I said - so we will see the savings on our electric bill then?? DD1 starts her day at round 6.45 so if we can negotiate and get her to wake at the new 7.15 that will be fine thank you !! SHe has the bunny clock so must remember to alter him as well.
Minirosa has her own internal clock but she can't sleep til 8 as I will have my boobs out on the nursery run ...Minirosa on tit , lugging dd1 over bridges nah don't think I can do it somehow !

Oblomov · 28/03/2009 15:10

Afternoon.
We have had the loveliest day, just pottering around. Dh and ds were 'dunking biscuits' to much frivolity.

Buzz, your SS to me, the nut chocolate was an inspired lifesaver. And h eoutfit was soooo cute. I should have known it was you.
My SS was ChocO. But I am a bit ashamed to say that, because I seriously struggled to find something that I thought she would like, under the set price. I found loads of things she would like, but they were like 5 times the threshold. maybe I should have bought them anyway

Next time, can we have a higher threshold. Then I will have trouble choosing which lovely gift to send ?

ChocOrange05 · 28/03/2009 15:20

You should have bought them anyway Obs

He loves the rattly dog - it usually lives underneath the pram for outings!

I went overbudget for my SS as I really couldn't find anything within it. Only a few pounds but thats me all over - set a budget and always blow it!!

Dozymare · 28/03/2009 15:57

I thought the whole point of a secret stork, was the fact it was a secret?? You lot are RUBBISH! I still think mine was Pinky though

Speaking of songs, I daren't tell you our made up bedtime one, it is so cringingly twee/Lovey Dovey/ it is only for families ears! We I sing it to the Brahms Lullaby tune, and that is all your are getting!!!!

What are you all talking about a bear for? Have I missed something??

obs got your email, would be lovely!!!! Let me know when etc DS1 and DS2 would love to see your DS1 I'm sure!

We have a busy weekend, 2 kids parties tomorrow which I have come to dread. They really cut into the whole weekend but I don't want to be a spoilsport and say they can't go!! Plus the expense - ridiculous....if anyone knows any good cheap presents for kids, please let me in on the secret as reckon we spend £400 a year on presents! Its a joke....

Oblomov · 28/03/2009 16:03

I wish I had bought them Choc. One was £21.99 and the other was £23.99 Money was never the issue. I ddin't mind spending the extra. But it seemed kind of wrong. I got very very frustrated at only seeing shitty tatt for the £10.
I am sorry, anyhow.

Oblomov · 28/03/2009 16:05

Dozy, I have 6 parties in April. Mad isn't it ?

Oblomov · 28/03/2009 16:08

And Choc, I did go well over with yours , in the end, anyway !!

Dozy, anytime. You are more time committed than me. Name the date.

And lets name a date for meet up with choc and pink aswell.

Dozymare · 28/03/2009 16:12

someone stop me please

Dozymare · 28/03/2009 16:13

this made me laugh

ChocOrange05 · 28/03/2009 17:13

Obs I thought it looked more than a £10 gift - and its lovely so don't be sorry, although next time just buy me that and the two others, I won't mind!!

Dozy this was on This Morning a while back.

Has anyone done any baby signing? I just bought the book from TK Maxx and am going to try it with M. Dozy TK Maxx is the place for cheap toys/books/clothes etc..

Would love to have a Dozy, Obs, Pinkglow and Monkey (if she can make it?) meet up soon!

Monkey, Merry and other foodies - we are having a dinner party tonight and DH and I are making: homemade bread and cheese straws, some fancy salad from a michel roux book (not sure what its called, its DH's course), rib of beef with rosemary potatoes and bernaise sauce and creme brulee with homemade shortbread and raspberry coulis. This is what DH and I now do with our weekends instead of going out.

OP posts:
ChocOrange05 · 28/03/2009 17:15

Here, go on Dozy you know you want to...

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 28/03/2009 18:09

lol choco, we used to do that...now we spend our weekends trying to restore some order into the house after a week of it being trashed by 3 kids!!!

bumble is in bed . He had a feed and is sparko, so we decided just to put him to bed. He will be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow but as the clocks are forward tonight it might all work out in the end.

I have been labelling things for the NCT sale tomorrow..... but if it all sells (and I think I might have priced things a bit too high, but given they take 33% commission...) we should make nearly £150. And that's only the tip of the iceberg. I've never been to an NCT sale before so have no idea of what to charge for things....

.....so, what would you pay for good quality maternity gear (crave, next, jojomamanbebe)?
