Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ellielou02 · 17/03/2009 20:47

daisy I would try and see a district or practice nurse tomorrow as they are the experts in wound care and would be able to give you a more suitable dressing (there are loads) and also check that lumpy area, it was only if the wounds were healing well we would leave dressings off but the pharmcist is quite right, I hope your feeling a bit better today
pinky are you taking DD so you have the excuse that you need to get her to bed

PinkyMinxy · 17/03/2009 20:48

daisy you are such a love, I only wish I felt that way about myself! I may write that down and keep it in my pocket, though.

PinkyMinxy · 17/03/2009 20:52

oops x posts there, ellie. We going to go for about an hour and a half, we reckon, then just say that's enough for the children etc and leave. I'm seeing therapist on thursday so hopefully he will bolster my resolve!

chocolategal · 17/03/2009 20:54

Poor Rutho, ive noticed shes been on FB and it sounds like shes had a busy time of it!

Daisy, so many people have reactions to the adhesive tapes, can you put a dressing on and just hold it on with your clothes , very high waisted pants perhaps?! Are you on antibiotics?

Met ellielou's DD2 today, she is such a smiley happy little girl!

DH just in from gym so im off to have a bath then early night!
Catch up with you all tomorrow

ellielou02 · 17/03/2009 21:09

Awww thanks chocolate dd1 is very tired tonight you know how long she was out playing then I took her out for a decent walk she went up to get her blanket and never came back down I went to check on them and she was sparko!! Enjoy you bath I am waiting on shameless coming on
pinky good plan and just remeber what daisy says.

chocolategal · 17/03/2009 21:19

I am in bed watching CSI, I am such a TV addict it's no wonder I am tired all the time! LOL!

Meant to say ceebee there will be no announcements from me either!!

LackaDAISYcal · 17/03/2009 21:35

lol choco...they would need to be very high waisted pants indeed

PinkyMinxy · 17/03/2009 22:11

You mean like the ones in Humphrey Bogart movies? Lol empire line trousers. But seriously, I would go to see nurse.

Hope Rutho is ok.

I'm watching Airplane. Real highbrow entertainment. I was meant to have a bath about 2 hours ago but can't get motivated.

AFingerofFudge · 17/03/2009 22:35

Quick post from me - mostly went ok at the doctors this morning. He has given M some infant gaviscon to try first of all for his reflux. Quite happy with that for now, have to see how it goes.
Unsuprisingly he didn't have any great insight into my aching joints. He does think it could be that the hormone relaxin that you have in your body during pregnancy is still there, apparently it can be there for up to 5 months. Hmm, not convinced, we'll see.

Will definitely NOT be me announcing anything! However, when I went to collect this cot mattress this evening, there was an 11 day old baby at the house, and she was sooo small, and soooo adorable. And I couldn't believe that M was that small only 13 weeks ago. Felt sort of broody, but in a detached way, not in a "lawks I better hurry up and have another one" kinda way!!!

Glad to hear Rutho is still lurking around somewhere, hope she reappears on here soon, she makes me laugh!

LackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2009 03:58

there is something very surreal about the wee small hours when you have had no sleep.

bumble woke up at 11ish, had a feed then wouldn't go back down. dh was up with him till 3 then i toook over but my sore throat has beeen keeping me awake.

poor bumble; he has been napping in 20 min burts then awake and screaming. he will only be held upright and wails if you lie him back/put him in his chair so i think his ears are sore again. he has a bit of a temp but nothing too scary and is full up with calpol and infant ibuprofen

but on the upside, these new dressings seem to be ok. itching has stopped and my skin looks less angry. I'm going to see the nurse though.

yay the baby is asllep for the first time since i took over...fingers crossed for a longer stretch this time.

Ceebee74 · 18/03/2009 08:48

Daisy poor you and bumble It never rains but it pours eh? It used to be Vbab posting in the early hours so you have obviously taken her spot

Fudge glad the doctor took you seriously re the reflux and hope it works.

Sam is really out of sorts aswell not sure what it is - teething, a cold or both. Yesterday he was barely interested in milk, seemed to struggle to suck as he would have about 2 sucks and then stop and cry and then try again, stop and cry and so on. He did perk up a bit when I gave him some teething granules and calpol as he had a little temperature and managed to drink about 6oz before bed. The other weird thing is that he keeps moaning in his sleep almost as if he is in pain (but not a lot of pain as he would be screaming iyswim). He is sneezing a lot and just wants to sleep and he keeps doing this funny pursing thing with his mouth . This morning, I fed him and he managed to drink 6oz quite happily, I put him on his gym where he was happy playing....me and DS1 went upstairs to get dressed, came down and Sam was swimming in regurgitated milk which I didn't notice until DS1 went over and said 'Sam been sick everywhere' and then I noticed the white puddles so he seems not much better today.

Ooh that was a bit of an essay

chocolategal · 18/03/2009 09:00

Morning everyone
Daisy , how are you & bumble this morning?
Ceebee, my DS was a bit like that yesterday, hardly took any milk all morning,I wondered if he was teething it would be sore for him to suck?

I have just cleaned out fish tank, so feel I have achieved something today!
It is such a nice day here again I don't know if I can be bothered going to the weaning talk this afteroon.

Speaking if vbab, not seen her posting for a few days

Dozymare · 18/03/2009 09:50

hello everyone, just popping in to say "hi" I am trying to keep up and read but just so dog tired and fed up want to be back to my usual routine.

More bloods being taken today, results were "inconclusive" for first lot of glandular fever....haven't been dressed now in a week......

Back as soon as I promise!

LackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2009 10:42

morning

been to the docs this morning....nothing specific wrong with the lad...just viral. poor wee scone, but he has had more calpol, has raised a few smiles and is now sleeping. I am going to join him as soon as I've had my lemsip.

doctor took a look at my wounds and said they were healing nicely so i could leave the drressing off. The skin around them has blistered and the heads have all come off and is sooooo much worse than the wounds themselves. I have tentatively washed around them to get the worst of the adhesive off but it's still very sore and itchy. I am sat her with my t-shirt bunched up under my boobs aand my bellyt exposed to the air...very attractive, NOT!!

Dozy, i hope you are feeling better soon, but please don't overdo things by training for this 10k run...there will be other races.

ceebee, bumble is also doing funny things with his lips and mouth, I think just because he has realised that he can!! I hope he is a bit better today though; same with mimi and all the other poorly babies.

Poor babies some really are having a tough time of things and daisly i was reading you previous post when it said he was getting better and you down with sore throat as well ... May spring come soon and take these nasty bugs away ... But as another mum said at nursery then the next set of spring bugs come to life!
Fathers day here on thurs so I raced to the shop to get a mug done with the dd's - it was shut - I then went to a friends bar to feed minirosa and she was shut so I had to belt home to feed her . She has been asleep ofr almost 2 hrs and has missed her feed by 30 mins - this is a first !
Took minirosas poo to be tested and results back in a week . She did do a semi normal colour one earlier so maybe she has shaken whatever it was off.
Hope Vbabs ds alright as she was taking him for a check up ..
Well done on cleaning the fish tank - I took a box of 6-12 mths clothing from on top of the wardrobe it was too heavy and it landed on my ironing basket which is now in bits !!

PinkyMinxy · 18/03/2009 17:56

Hana I had a haircut today, and it looks a bit like that, too. But I have nearly always had a fringe.

Mimi is a bit better but still quite spotty, Had a better nigth with her last night.

Hope everyone is feeling less poorly today. No news from vbab yet?

Rosa a week seems a long time to wait for results, but well done on the poop cathcing!

ChocOrange05 · 18/03/2009 19:11

barbareebaa · 18/03/2009 21:41

Hi!

Thanks for making me feel normal Think W is teething - screamed all morning - thought we were going to have to take him to the drs but there is a sharp bit sticking out in his bottom gum which I didn't notice before so gave him some calpol and he slept for a bit. Bought a teether (which he loves!!) and some of those powders and he is quiet in bed at the mo.

How much calpol can you give btw? He's had some a 4am and again at 11am. If he suffers tonight would I give him some more or powders/ bonjela type stuff?

We missed 16 week jabs as I felt like he had suffered enough today so going back in a week.

of hair do's - haven't had mine cut since July 2007 birds nest

daisy glad you are healing well but sorry to hear bumble is suffering

mm Happy birthday for yesterday x Glad you had a lovely day!

coolkat Hope you have a fab time shopping tomorrow!

Hope evryone else is well x

PinkyMinxy · 18/03/2009 23:25

Hi Barbs wow you must have long hair! I used to have really long hair, but it is so thick it took far too long to wash/dry/brush you must have a lot of patience!

re calpol- I would try the teething remedies then resort to calpol, unless W is hot, then I'd go straight to calpol. I think it's 4 doses in 24 hrs or somesuch (check label).

Hope you have a goos night.x

Ceebee74 · 19/03/2009 10:01

Morning - it has been very quiet here for the last couple of days - I assume we are all too busy enjoying the sunshine

I am actually wearing my uber-comfy flip-flops today and it is not even spring yet

Am taking Sam for his last jabs today - he is is still not right - he seems to have a bad cough and puked most of his milk this morning. I spoke to the nurse yesterday and she said that the only reason not to have them done is if he has a temperature which he doesn't - might aswell get them over and done with and he can be doubly miserable today

Also I am actually sat here in my pre-pg jeans and they fit!! I am so chuffed that it has only taken me 3 months to get here....now just got to shift the 2 stone I never lost in between babies!!
