Poor you Dozy - gosh hope it's not glandular fever. Re. the weight gain, I bet it's all the gas buildup. Seriously - it will disappear again. Concentrate on getting well

Lacks sounds like you've had a tough day.

barbs you are not mad - agree with pinky we've all had these moments.

Gotta go - my dad is here tonight so got to pour him another whisky..!

P.S. it's my birthday tomorrow...another day older, and deeper in debt...etc. So prob won't get online as have lots of stuff planned. Hope everyone has a happy tuesday!

ellielou02 · 16/03/2009 22:20

Good Evening ladies x
coolkat I will just stick it back on ebay its not a problem I would have bought a booster seat like the one you are talking about but we have weird chairs they wont fit .

We have had a lazy day today just catching up on washing and phone calls to companies who say they will phone you back and never do

daisy hope the tantrums have passed

barbs I also agree it is normal

LackaDAISYcal · 16/03/2009 22:25

barbs, completely normal to lose it and completely normal to think you are the worst parent in the world for doing it. He has forgotten it already I'm sure.

I yelled at DS1 yesterday and gave bumble a real fright and he refused to look at me for ages and when he did he did that sobbing thing that they do after they have been crying for ages. I felt like a right old cow.

ask about the rash before you get the jabs.

and definately go for the appointment. Yes, BFing might be going fine now, but who's to say it won't cause future problems down the line.....i was talking to someone on here who's DS has a tight lip tie like bumble which had been fine, but started causinig problems after the baby was six months. Far better to go and get told it is not going to cause any problems than not to go and have to go through the whole rigmarole of getting another referral sometime down the line.

DH is taking my laptop to PC world tomorrow to see about getting it fixed annd do you think I can find the receipt/warranty? All I have is a letter they sent a few eeks after buying it about taking out an extended warranty. It proves when it was bought i suppose, so they might be happy with that??

My cold/throat lurgy are getting worse

Have a happy birthday tomorrow Monkey

Morning all, not had time to post though have been trying to keep up with events of the last few days!

barbs I know you feel like the only mum that has totally lost the plot with their kids, but it really does happen to us all! I certainly understand that point where you react and then think to yourself "I don't understand what happened". I think it's so frustrating to be in charge of someone who can't and won't be totally under your control.
Def go to the tongue tie appt. My ds also it t.t., ( you probably have read my stuff about it) Not all t.t. babies have problems feeding, but it can cause other problems later like with speech (hopefully not) so it's best I think to see someone now, if only to have acknowledged it with the doctors in case of later problems IYSWIM

Dozy feel really sorry for you. As a wimp when it comes to illness, I remember having an "ordinary" bout of tonsillitis a few years ago and sitting in the doctors crying because it was too sore to swallow. I still remember the pain. Hope you recover well.
Hope you haven't passed it onto lacks !!. get well soon lacks

Happy Birthday MM.

Am off to the doctors this morning, only waited 2 weeks for the appointment. Both of us are going. Me to talk about my permanent aching joints, muscles.etc. It really is debilitating as I used to do kickboxing before I got pregnant. Now I can't even entertain the thought of doing it even though I miss it!
M is at the docs about his bad skin and bad reflux. You may remember the nonsense another doctor told me when M was having his first jabs "all babies have reflux"

Later we're off to pick up a cot mattress as it's about time M was out of the moses basket. He is 14 weeks today and approx 12lb, his basket keeps creaking when he moves in it. If I don't get a hurry on with assembling the cot he'll go right through the basket

Must go, school run etc.

Oh and HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY to one and all

cricri · 17/03/2009 08:27

Happy Birthday MM, hope you have a lovely day in the sunshine
Daisy I've had a cold/throat lurgy for nearly a week now and it's taking ages to go. I hope it's not the same thing - I don't feel great but not ill enough to stay in bed IYSWIM.
Barbs Hope you're feeling better this morning. Being a mother is incredibly hard work and it takes time for the relationship with DH/DP to adjust. Don't be too hard on yourself. Was it Rutho who mentioned a good book she'd been reading on that subject? Speaking of which, where is Rutho?
Got to go - E just woken up!

Ceebee74 · 17/03/2009 08:42

Morning all

Monkey have a great birthday - hope you enjoy it and the sun shines for you

Barbs what you have described is so normal so please don't worry about it I think Finger has hit the nail on the head by saying how frustrating it is to be in charge of someone who cannot tell you what is wrong and you can't reason with!! Also, with regards you and your DH, I always remember someone saying that when you have a baby, it basically means there is a stranger coming to live with you so you all have to adjust to each other - just as you would if this person was an adult! It is like having a permanent lodger move in (all be it a very cute one )

Daisy sorry you are feeling ill again - you will get through all this and be a new woman!

Oblomov · 17/03/2009 09:00

Happy Birthday MonkeyM. Don't worry Barbs, totally normal. Hope Dozy is recovering well. Hope Rosa has had some success with pooh catching. What with her and Vbab with the white pooh, we have a right pooh fest on our hands, don't we.
Max has been unwell for last 4/5 days and has been very sick and exploding poohs that even Cricri would be proud of !
I am having hard time of it, right now. Strugglijg to cope.
We are off for a family wedding, and I am not prepared and very stressed, just getting ready , nappies clean clothes, muslins etc, for 4 days away. Might have a heart attack if not careful. if I haven't posted again in a weeks time, post wedding, you know I have died of 'bought-on-to-myself-for-no-real-reason' stress.

chocolategal · 17/03/2009 09:14

Happy Birthday monkeym x

londonboots · 17/03/2009 09:33

happy birthday monkey - have a fab day in the sunshine!

dozy take care of yourself and get well soon!

Oblomov · 17/03/2009 09:35

Like Barbs, I am feeling very very very broody.
I don't want another child. I don't want any more children. I only ever wanted 2, which I have.
I want another newborn. I want a peter-pan-baby who never grows past 5 months. I love them when they are realy really tiny. I want to bf, a tiny baby, for ever and ever and ever.
This is coming from the women who is booked in to be sterilised next month.
I'll get my coat
And book myself into the pyscho clinic

ChocOrange05 · 17/03/2009 12:15

Broody - BROODY ?!?!?

You ladies are gluttons for punishment!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Monkey

Ceebee74 · 17/03/2009 12:43

It's funny - if one of us were to get pg now, there would be a 13-14 month age gap which is quite common so I am expecting at least one announcement soon ....now who do I think it will be???

Definitely not me btw, I am so NOT broody and glad the newborn times are behind me!! - Obs I must be the exact opposite of you as I don't really 'do' newborns - much prefer them when they are a little bigger!

ellielou02 · 17/03/2009 13:08

Hi just a quickie choco how many times did you wash your iits before use they are here and they are LUSH x

ellielou02 · 17/03/2009 13:08

oops Happy Birthday MM have a lovely day!!!

Pinkglow · 17/03/2009 17:03

Broody? ahhhh no way. There will be no annoucements from my camp

We finally threw out all the dummies today - we had gradually reduced their use until he was just using them in the car seat and even though he still hates the car seat we have thrown them out. But he will sometimes still feed abit to sleep but I can totally live with that.

Happy birthday monkey

ChocOrange05 · 17/03/2009 17:34

ellie I just washed them the once. I think they are best after a few washes but you can use them after just one. Let me know how you get on with them!

Hana I hope you are feeling better about things. It sounds like you are very worried, I hope things get sorted for you soon.

I have a family do on saturday and I am dreading it. However I am aware now of all the game playing, and having exposed some of their latest lies I feel a bit more protected, but I still feel very sad.

Mimi has been very poorly today she hardly slept a wink last night, but she has been feeding and feeding despite her temperature and seems a bit beter this evening. She was so sad today, her little bottom lip all trembly.
Had her checked out at the walk in clinic here and she is all clear, some sort of viral thing- the usual stuff.

Happy Birthday, MonkeyM hope you had a lovely day

LackaDAISYcal · 17/03/2009 20:08

hana, I hope they get to the bottom of it soon for you; tis very worrying when things aren't right downstairs and arese to your docs for making you wait all that time. Push for a gynae referral though if that's what you want.

I've come out in a reaction to my wound dressings and am itchy and sore with big fluid filled blisters. I got some different ones from Boots today, but not sure if they are causing irritation as well, or if it's because the skin is already inflamed.

we are all a bit better here today, but tired like you wouldn't believe, even though bumble has settled back down to only waking once in the night...yay

Getting my laptop back tomorrow...woohoo. I'm missing it!

ellielou02 · 17/03/2009 20:22

Hello all,

fudge hope you got on ok at docs and start to feel better soon and was he more help this time re the reflux?? Hope so its horrible being fobbed off.
pinkglow good luck with the dummies going
hana Sounds like an awful time at docs there is nothing worse than waiting, I hope you get things sorted out soon.
pinky good luck for Saturday theres nothing wors than trying to enjoy youself when things arent right. I recently found out someone very close to me had been lying and keeping things from her family it was awful and things still arent the same as they were.

We have had quite a nice day the jumperoo arrived as did my nappies, chocolategal came round for a cuppy her little boy is lovely. Then me and DC went for a walk to the park!

ellielou02 · 17/03/2009 20:27

Daisy If your wounds are clean and healing you should be able to leave dressings off I would double check with your practice nurse though, we used to discharge patients and tell them just to leave dressings off after they came off in the shower!! Dont know what they advised you and of course you should follow their advice, but if they are causing irritation it will make it worse. It was keyhole wasnt it??

PinkyMinxy · 17/03/2009 20:36

lol ellielou I am not going to enjoy myself. We are going because I have to, (I can't get out of this one) then I will leave and go and enjoy my own, new family. DH and I have agreed that this is the last thing of this kind we are going to, if we can help it.

daisy did the nurse change the dressings for you? I would be inclined as ellie suggests to leave dressings off, but check with district nurse. DH had his changed twice then they were left off after 10 days, but obviousy a knee is quite a different thing to a gallbladder, though it was also keyhole surgery.

LackaDAISYcal · 17/03/2009 20:36

thanks for that ellie.... I was told to leave the dressings on for 10 days! And, yes it was keyhole. the little wounds under my ribs are healing nicely, just some tightness in the stitches, but my belly button one is still quite open and a bit weepy. I've reapplied some steri strips to pull it together, but I'm sure it is because of where it is that it isn't knitting properly.

I spoke to the pharmacist in boots and she said that she reckoned it was to be left on for so long to minimise the risk of any infection getting into the abdominal cavity. It feels a bit lumpy and sore above and to the left of my belly button, so I'm hoping there isn't any infection building.

Had a FB message from rutho...just to say she is still alive and overdoing things!! I've told her to get back on here pronto for the support we can all offer.

LackaDAISYcal · 17/03/2009 20:42

hey pinky, i missed your post earlier as i hadn't refreshed before posting mine.

sorry that mimi is poorly there is a lot of stuff going about just now isn't there. bumble is finally himself today after about two weeks of not being quite right. he has a bit of a lingering cough and a wheeze, but is due back at the docs on thursday for another check.

I hope things go well on Saturday. Do your best to rise above it all and just remember that you are a wonderful, funny, intelligent person and are a great mum and worth ten of them. Keep telling yourself that whenever you have a wobbly moment
