Congratulations to hkz on the wedding proposal.

The Kentish Town City farm is about 5 minutes from Gospel Oak on the North London line.

treedelivery · 12/03/2009 19:48

Ooooh weddings. Nostalgic for that too now!!
Maybe we should all post a wedding pic on profile! Will be planning Baptism soon - love all that stuff. DD1 Baptism and naming ceremony was mega, lovely sit down meal for 60 followed by drunken decent into the less elegant!

Harriet has had a shite day of screaming/sleeping/smiling...back to screaming. Needs to poo bless her. This is pants.

DH still has voms and runs. Pants too!

Going to [try] pick up 'the girls' [I love saying that] foot impressions tomorrow. We had Jess and Harriet [at 4 days] next to each other, with 'sisters' written above. Then the people who fire them tint the clay a light lilac for us.
Have also had hand casts of dd1, feet of dd2, and a cast of dd1 and dd2 holding hands.
Will be having mug of hands I think, for mothers day. I have one of dd1 for my 1st ever mothers day so it's tradition.

Ray - Love the dress!! I had a FROCK. It was fab and rustled when I walked and people tripped over the train.

And thanks Dog - it is a PITA, am hoping it doesn't really flare up as that would mean no more bf, as can't feed on my meds but not thinking about that until I have to.

Thanks Tink - think i might go for it.

treedelivery · 12/03/2009 20:44

Poor you LenniEd. Crap
On a positive note you look nothing like a snowman Your flowers to die for!! Fab fab pics, so romantic. WOuld love to go back and do it again [though not pay for it again]

I got incredible weather in York, in May. Fabbo.

missjackson · 12/03/2009 20:54

hkz sounds like a lovely proposal!
ray beautiful dress - but more importantly, what is Esme going to wear?! Sounds like a great idea to have a child minder there. Now that I've got Nye, I hope some of my friends with impending weddings have the same idea!

LO crying, got to run....

rrrayray · 12/03/2009 21:13

missJ Well i have THREE Bridesmaids, and THREE Flower girls (cute so each one can walk hand in hand with a bridesmaid) i think these are the bridesmaid dresses i am going to go for (in the ginger colour- although i would say its more of a peach) for Esme and the other flower girls, i saw these gorgeous little dresses in debenhams. I'm starting to get excited thinking about it all. Glad everyone likes the dress, i know its rather fairytale- but its my big day, and i'm only doing it once!!

lenni poor you- got fingers crossed.

spink Time for you is the company we're using. They also have insurance of up to 2 million which is reassuring, although i'm always home when she comes at the moment, knowing that insurance is in place is a piece of mind if i had to go out or anything.

moose Pj day sounds great!! Hope you feel better soon.

Hkz Awwww... beautiful thinking of proposal. OH proposed on Christmas day in our pjs by the fire!! it was perfect as we both LOVE Christmas, our fire, and our Ppjs...

Dog i don't think your mad at all for having 3, or at starting at 20, well actually i think you said a little less than 220. Some people are just ready sooner, i know OH and i have been dying to have a baby for several years now, but it made sense for me to finish university. Although i'm not using my degree now, or in the forseeable future - its an important saftey blanket to have for us.

Loving all the wedding pictures!!!

treedelivery · 12/03/2009 21:20

Ray- loving the dresses. You have lovely lovely taste. My colours were all the pastels. with beige as a base. Although myflowers were brighter than anticipated. You go for it girl!! Fairytales are great afterall!!

rrrayray · 12/03/2009 21:30

I can't wait for the summer to go dress shopping with my mother and bridesmaids. I'm going for Cream Flowers, (Roses mainly, and Lillies, i know they are "Death Flowers" but i absolutely Adore them, so Sodd it!) with lots of fresh green stems. We're also having "Flower balls" in the venue, suspended from the ceiling! Exciting.

I'm just watching "Jades Wedding"... bringing tears to my eyes. whatever people say about that girl, shes doing an amazing thing by making her cancer so public. I read the other day, since her diagnosal the uptake in smear tests has risen by 20%!!!!!

EachPeachPearMum · 12/03/2009 22:02

Wow! so many wedding coming up- congratulations all of you!

Lenni- where was yours?

Tree- was that a cathedral???? Its huge.

moosemama · 12/03/2009 22:51

Tree you made a beautiful bride. Cool camper van too! Was it a Dormobile? (Looks like one judging by the roof.) We loved our Dormy (Clyde was his name). It/he was also a K reg and the first camper we ever owned, but arrived 6 months after we were married so wasn't at the wedding.

Sorry to hear you are suffering Lenni hope you get some relief soon.

My virus is still marching on with no sign of letting up. Managed to crawl to the school and collect the boys but have achieved absolutely nothing else at all today.

Have asked DH for this for mothers day. Am having the 3 DCs names put on the charms and want them put on an extra long chain with a heart charm which I will choose from somewhere else as I don't particularly like the one they are selling.

I usually just have something I need but can't afford (like some dermalogica products) for mothers day, but really felt I wanted something that directly related to my being a Mommy this year. Thanks for reminding me about that website Tree I've bought some lovely gifts for people from there in the past but had completely forgotten about it for some reason.

hkz · 12/03/2009 23:22

Lenni- Those pics look amazing. Where was it? You look beautiful too!

Tree and Moose- Check this out. This is my SIL's jewellery, she's going to make me an engagement ring. It's a fab website.
Moose I think the charm necklace is lovely and something really special to have too.

Ray- Really like th eflower girl dress too. Willhave to have a look for my DD.

Think we are planning to get married in August. Going to have a pretty low key registry office number and a meal for close friends and family and then a right old knees up somewhere in the evening where everyone can come. Have just realised how much there is to think about. It's times like these I really miss my mum, she died just after DD was born and she would have loved to get her teeth into a bit of wedding organisation- right up her street!
My sister has volunteered to help me out...we are both completely disorganised!

When is Mother's day? Think we completely missed it last year! Well, I shall be asking for a lie in this year I think!

elkiedee · 12/03/2009 23:29

Here's a link to some of my baby pics by the way:

treedelivery · 12/03/2009 23:49

hkz - it's hard your mum won't be there. Am sorry for that. x

Loving your sil stuff. Oh I could spend. Am settled on the silver name rings though.......I think.....

Those are handsome boys Elkiedee!!

Moose - I believe you are right re camper. A friend who was usher drove us in it, it's his family one. The guests had a red double decker routemaster for transport - complete with on board cream tea [way cheaper than canapes!] and sparkling rose and bunting. I came over all miss marple planning that!! Was cute. Glen Millar cd was playing and they had a vintage time of it.

chefswife · 13/03/2009 00:58

so many posts to catch up on. congats to the weddings, birthdays and cups of tea.

well, the last week has been hard but a good thing keeps happening that i'm relishing. DD will sleep anywhere but in her crib. (think i may have already said this) every time she dosed off, i put her in her crib, which she promptly wake up and cry and cry and cry till i picked her up. then she got savy on me and the moment i stirred she bolted awake. she would be awake from about 4 till 10pm. i'm just finishing feeding when DH gets home and after he showers and stuff, he takes her and she falls asleep. the thing that is good from her not sleeping in the crib is that i'm getting about 3 hours to myself at night! i'm having bubble baths not because i particularly want one but because i can. its been lovely. i have been able to get her in the crib after morning feed in bed. DH and i are getting time together too. i love morning sex! what a tone to set for the day.

in regards to the insensitive BF comments, i think that it is very important for us not to apologize. i was told that if you apologize, it gives the other person power because you are passively saying that you are in the wrong. ok... does that make sense. its psychology. i've not been very good at relaying thoughts lately. anyhow, lets not apologize. its the 21st century for christ's sake.

moosemama · 13/03/2009 09:29

For anyone interested, the programme I watched a few days before Elizabeth's apnea episode that covered baby resuscitation is just starting on Discovery Health.

tinkislittlemissshopping · 13/03/2009 09:31

morning -

mm - hope u r feeling better
how did costume work out?!
that necklace looks lovely
lenni - that is ok
chesw sorry things r stressful

moosemama · 13/03/2009 09:41

hkz love the jewellery. Mothers day is Sunday 22nd March.

chef have you thought about investing in a bedside crib. We have one that attaches to our bed and find it helps to settle her as we are close by and can easily put a hand on her chest or hold her hand if she is restless. I think the close proximity helps as she seems to snuggle across to be near us, following her nose I guess. Sometimes she just seems to open her eyes and look at my face then settle back to sleep. Its been a godsend, wish I'd had one for the boys.

Tree your wedding sounds spectacular. (Mmmm cream tea!) You are so good at thinking of ways to make things special. I seem to lack imagination these days and everything seems like too much effort unless its for the kids. I have resolved to try harder from now on though and make more of an effort for anniversaries etc. Its easy to slip into lazy ways when you've been together for so long.

tinkislittlemissshopping · 13/03/2009 09:43

hi mm

is this right for both my daughters names on necklace confused about how to fill out
www.notonthehighstreet.com/silverkitsune/product/personalised_name_charm_necklace

moosemama · 13/03/2009 09:45

Morning Tink am feeling a bit better this morning thanks. Managed to get up in time to make the packed lunches and take photos of the boys before school.

DS2 kept changing his mind about what he wanted to wear but settled for his dragon costume in the end. Its a full outfit with wings, a tail and full headress! DS1 went for the everything inside out look! It actually looked cool in a weird sort of way!

Just watching the baby resus thing again - finding it quite upsetting this time round. Brings it all back.
