Hi Dog

Cake was fine, not my greatest but did the job and DS1 was really impressed with it which is all that matters.

My DH was adamant we weren't having any more after DS2 and was still adamant until a couple of weeks before she was conceived. Never say never!

Tree and Dog I worried about exactly the same thing when my DSs started full-time school and gave them packed lunches that I knew they could unpack etc for that very reason. Believe me, they take it all in their stride and the teachers and classroom assistants have done it all so many times it is all carefully coordinated and chaperoned. They aren't expected to do it themselves for weeks, in fact I think DS2 had help for the whole of the first term. The dinner ladies are lovely as well, all being Mum's who have kids at the school themselves, they are there specifically to help the children and soon get to know which ones need a little bit of extra help.

What a day! Party lunch at Mum's, then spent the afternoon at the Think Tank Science Museum in Birmingham which the boys loved but was quite difficult to manouevre with a pushchair and totally exhausting. Then back to Mum's for a birthday tea and demolition of party bags and birthday cake! DH and I are totally worn out now. DD was an absolute star all day. Both my sisters said they refuse to believe she ever cries and so many people came and told us how lovely she is.

She went in the actual seat part of our Babyjogger Citymini for the first time today. I was a bit worried she might not like it having always been facing me in her car seat before, but she was really comfy and snuggly in there and with the roll-up/net back and two viewing windows we could see each other the whole time. In fact she slept for most of the 3 and half hours we were at the museum and then spent the time she was awake smiling at everyone that looked at her, so she must have been comfy and relaxed.

DS1 is sooo in love with his Nintendo DSi. We let him have free access today but from tomorrow he will be restricted to one hour in total of computer/nintendo/electronic/dvd game time at the weekend and half an hour in the week. He was totally wired after playing on it for ages at Mum's!

Ray Hope you have a fantastic birthday!

Right am off to get DDs night bottle sorted and get ready for bed before the new episode of Red Dwarf is on at 11.30 pm.

chefswife · 10/04/2009 23:41

ray happy birthday!

moose yes! how did the cake go. i am loving baking right now. i never seem to have enough time to cook. i will hash out a recipe till i perfect it. my oatmeal and raisin cookies are sellable now that i tweeked the recipe. i've got a couple of recipes and will be building a baking arsenal for the market. my friend makes jewelry from glass so we are going to put a table together for the market. it only costs $15. Canadian dollars.

thanks missjackson i love all the pics on the facebook group. keep posting everyone as its fun to see the babies growing.

contraception... well. hmmm. i won't take the pill because i am breastfeeding and DH won't wear a condom... well i don't like it either. a little russian roulette over here. ah well, we want more anyhow and its not too much of a concern when they come although i would like to drop 15 pounds beforehand.

DD is drooling like there's no tomorrow! its like a contest to see if it'll reach the ground before coming off the lip. we go through all her bibs in one day. there's bibs draped all over the flat. a bib is always within arms reach. the sizing thing is a pain. it is so general. DD is still wearing her 0-3 mon stuff and most of it fits now perfectly and she is 4 months now. well, keeps the clothing costs down.

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 11/04/2009 09:00

got great pics dd1 luved pixifoto so much and they were both so good chose luvly pics

treedelivery · 11/04/2009 10:53

Happy Birthday Ray - hope you got a lovely birthday card from your little lovely!

Tink - glad the pics are good. Am most [green], we had them done with dd1 but no funds this time. Will get them later in year when my resolve snaps .

Moose - Thank you very much for that reasurrance, it is very comforting. Everyone just keeps telling me 'she'll be fine' to which I want to say 'how will she be' - your info helps as you know the answer to that. If that makes sense? Can we see the cake? Glad it was a hit.

Ok - where is our fb page? I do have a page from way back I'll have to get into this technology business.

Right - off to upload 1000's of pics to photobox and get them ordered, free delivery this weekend. Might do a photobook of dd2 and our holiday in France last year too. That'll take 8 hours hen......

moosemama · 11/04/2009 11:43

Sorry, camera still not talking to macbook so can't post pictures, cameras all but full as well so will have to sort it out soon.

Having a 'quiet' at home day today. Well I say quiet, the boys have spent the morning screaming and fighting so far! Birthday hangovers methinks!

fymmumoftwo · 11/04/2009 12:09

oh no I missed red dwarf moose was it good?????

oh it's on again on Monday (Few...) or should that be at liking red dwarf???

moosemama · 11/04/2009 13:00

We enjoyed it, not as funny as it used to be though. Weird how Cat and Lister don't really look any different. Next episode is on at 9pm tonight on Dave.

Don't be . Red Dwarf is great, there are far worse programmes out there in ever repeating digital tv land! Red Dwarf repeats kept me company through many of my pregnancy induced insomniac nights.

stripeywoollenhat · 11/04/2009 14:07

Dog - You can! You can do all sorts - I love the photobooks. We had them done for all events, you can choose your pics, arrange how you like, add words and graphics. Its a time sapper though - if you thought mn was bad you aint seen nothing yet!

Plus people can view your albums - like all you saw some of wedding pics. I have over 2000 so I was kind and filtered for you

Enjoy your birthday Dog!!

Hi books!!

chefswife · 11/04/2009 17:44

my friend had a book photo book done and gave them as a gift to family for her son's christening. they are really lovely to have. i'm going to do one for DD for her first birthday.

tree here is the facebook group, but i think its rrayray that needs to accept you as a member. www.facebook.com/group.php?sid=0&gid=41204527891&ref=search

dog there's a meadery up island here that i am just dying to go to. i would love to keep bees. have fun and happy birthday too.

DD is just not making it through the night this past week. she wants to almost continuously feed. my nipples aren't cracked or anything but a little sore, like when you scratch a spot too many times. not to mention a complete pain in the ass. we went to bed at 11. she was up at 1, fed till 1:30. up at 2;15, fed till 3. up at 4 and fed till five. up at 7 fed till 8. i'm at my wits end... speaking of which... she's crying again for boob. its 9:45. argh! i need a reprieve!

treedelivery · 11/04/2009 17:59

Ok have requested to join. Marvellous! Hope you'll have me,

HAve just finished 0-6 weeks photobook for Harriet - I'll have it so you can see it so you can have a nosey and see if you fancy making one. They take hours though!

missjackson · 11/04/2009 18:51

Love photobooks - I have a mac so I just use the book software on iphoto - but am going to limit myself to one every 3 months I've decided. Will force me to be selective! Look forward to seeing your book tree. chefswife Nye is the same when we co-sleep - which is usually from about 3/4am - he just suckles on and off the rest of the night, and I end up feeling very sore ever though I sleep thru most of it.

Tried nature's baby nappies today, thanks to whoever recommended them, they are really nice - and seem to bother him less when they are wet. Still love the tots bots when we get home though. Will have to buy size 2s pretty soon though!

dog when did your DS start riding? You are right, they are a lot of work to look after! Hope you have a great night and Happy Birthday! Will Isla just sleep thru the evening?

Lovely and sunny here, hope everyone is having nice Easter break x

treedelivery · 11/04/2009 19:10

Chefswife - we seem to have to same baby. I've heald Hat since the early hours of Friday morning. She has had screaming wind. She properly screams - not cries. It's awful.
I just have to carry on and try to help

on a positive note - this link might work I hope.
photobook

Sore nips here too from being asleep during a feed.

treedelivery · 11/04/2009 19:12

Yay it works - click on full screen for maximum Harriet vision!

Oh my mum just nearly lost it with dh - he wanted dd1 to eat her dinner. Obviously dd1 wanted to clime Everest rather than that. So I'm guessing he nagged her, she cried and my mum felt he was hard on her.

Wasn't there so dunno - have stayed in bed with Hatts trying to get her some sleep as she cries when we move much.

Poor dd1, she is going through a difficult time.

rrrayray · 11/04/2009 19:25

Hi all.

Thanks for all birthday wishes. have had a much nicer day than expected.... this is the first year of my life (23 today!!) that i havent seen my parents on my birthday, it just hasnt worked out for us to see eachother, so we're celebrating when i go down next weekend, so bit weird not seeing them, but lovely day. Woke up this morning to be totally spoilt by Esme and OH. OH is paying for my Lady Garden Lazer removal, so was only expecting a card from each of them... But... Esme (with some help!) got me an i pod touch, and OH got me a MacBook. I hadn't asked for either, but absolutely LOVELY presents. OH and i have been sharing his Dell lap top for some time. So a lap top of my own (mine packed up when i finished uni- think it was tired, haha!) is very nice. Expect LOTS of MN posts while i get to grips with my toy! :-)

Then went late morning to friends house, and we had a girls gathering for my birthday/ her hen do. And would you believe, despite every forecast saying rain, we had a beautiful sunny day, really quite warm too!

OH is cooking for me when he gets home... which is a nice idea in principle, but i dont think he has ever cooked a meal for himself, let alone me (we have been together for quite some time & i picked up where his mother left off!) so i don't know if i should be scared! ;-)

missJ Can't remmber who else said it too, but Esme would go into melt down if she didn't have a little nap every 2 - 2 1/2 hours or so. just a quick one to recharge her batteries, and she has one longer nap over lunchtime.

tink congrats on getting the girls sleeping together. Did it go smoothly? Does Bracken sleep most of the night now?

Books Welcome back!

moose i see you have a macbook. Am just exploring my new toy now. How do you like yours?

Right, better go and beautify myself for my lovely birthday meal! Eeek. Oh, and Esme is in her moses basket in HER room at the moment. Will bring her back in at her 10.30pm feed for Ease. But put her in there so OH and i can maybe...possibly... get our jigg on in peace! :-D Scary thoughts!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter xxxxx

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 11/04/2009 19:52

hi

had a great day @ marwell zoo bracken slept and dd1 luved all the animals

rray glad u had gd bday yes all good with them sharing bracken is in moses in cot she only wakes @ 5am.

treedelivery · 11/04/2009 19:53

Ray - you sound really really happy. Lovely x

rrrayray · 11/04/2009 20:42

Ah poo... So much for Lovely cooked Meal.... OH was stuck in traffic, so decided on Dominos Pizza! That said, rather yummy.... and can hardly complain- have been spoilt rotten!

tink havent been to marwell Zoo since i was a child. Lovely place. hope weather was nice. Isn't Bracken good waking at 5am. After that when does she sleep to? Esme goes to bed at 7pm, i wake to feed her when i'm off to bed, say 11pm ish, then she feeds about 3.30am but both of us are 1/2 asleep. Then she wakes at 7am. Can't complain really. Esme is long like Bracken, doesn't have much longer left in moses. She sleeps in cot for day time naps (when we are home) and in moses at night. Still in our room @ moment, going to put her in own room at 12 weeks.

Tree Sorry to hear of Hatts Windy Cries. I hate the pained cries when you know they aren't winging they're really upset. Esme seems to rarely bring wind up, it all seems to go down and fire out of her bottom! Those poos are Rocket propelled! Poor DD1, hope she is OK. do your Mother & DH usually see eye to eye, or not?

photobox what have i missed? i've never heard of it/them.... someone care to enlighten moi?

Right, off to snuggle on couch & watch Trashy Tv with lots of choccies... Mmmmm!!

elkiedee · 11/04/2009 20:56

Ray, belated happy birthday, glad to hear it has been so far.

We went on a family outing to IKEA - bit stressful as dp kept panicking about ds1 trying to run around etc. But we got some nice curtains for the boys' bedroom and a couple of other little things. I've ordered a cot from IKEA for C, as DS1 still really needs his and can use it for a while - it will turn into a cotbed.

Baby clothes really do vary enormously in sizes - Conor's growing out of even his Mothercare 0-3 month babygros although they tend to be bigger than some others - he's not 15 lb yet which is what it says on the size label (probably close to 13 lb if he's growing at the same rate he has been) but he seems to be getting long very quickly now. As for fitting into 3-6 months at 11 weeks, 3 months is only 13 weeks, so there's not much in it. I've got out the 3-6 month clothes from Baby Gap - mostly inherited stuff which DS1 was given as pressies - as they indicate 12-17 lb, and some other more expensive stuff which comes up small.

treedelivery · 11/04/2009 20:56

ray - my link shows you book i made on photobox. I mostly get my pics developed there. Sorry your fancy meal was a no go - but yum to pizza!

Thanks for sympathy, its been a really tough couple of days. I've basically stayed in bed with her so thank god its easter [literally]

Big Sigh.
But am chuffed with photobook so will be cheerfull. Plus mum got me 4 betty's iced fancies so dairy free starts, again, tomorrow.
Enjoy your pm ray!

moosemama · 11/04/2009 21:02

Hi Ray glad you had a lovely birthday.

I love love love my macbook! I was determined I would hate it having worked on pc's for the best part of 20 years and was really worried I wouldn't be able to use it, but it actually makes more sense than a pc and is far more logical to navigate.

moosemama · 11/04/2009 21:06

Tree link is just taking me to the homepage - can't find your book?

treedelivery · 11/04/2009 21:19
