Aw now Natty, I think it takes longer than 12 minutes before you can call a thread dead

Well we didn't round to playing any games, just had a good old natter And the curry was good. And I only had one of the delicious but very large and calorific chocs I'd bought for pudding, but gave my friends the rest of the box to take home so I feel very virtuous. It was nice to see RL friends, I must do so more often.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 27/02/2009 22:42

RL friends jammy.. what like ones u can touch
gosh what are they?

glad u had a good time

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/02/2009 22:46

Natty.
Yeah was good. Especially so after a week of DH being away and adult conversation therefore a bit thin on the ground.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 27/02/2009 22:50

god i know that feeling this week, DH been either at work or sleeping, ive not had much more then grunts. (and the constant moaning about lack of sex)

most adult convo ive had has been on here. slighty worrying

Poor Ellen (and poor Natty.)

I'm enjoying the quiet spell while jamlet has her early nap. Then I think we're going to get the bus into Oxford and go to the natural history museum. I can't face a whole day of sitting playing with duplo and reading ITNG books but can't think what else to do. Also I need a couple of bits of shopping that I can't get locally. Wish DH was back though, I'm a bit fed up of being on my own now, especially as it's now the weekend.

TALLULAHBELLE · 28/02/2009 09:33

Ah - new thread. How's everyone?
I am exhausted. This week DD has:

Washed her hands ? in the toilet

Stuffed a whole toilet roll down the loo

Climbed up on the book trolley at the library & got stuck. (Cue loud cries of ?DOWN, DOWN? but as I was feeding Thing1 @ the time, I couldn?t get to her & a complete stranger had to rescue her).

Asked, ?What?s that?? about 6 million times, even though she knows the answer

Learned to walk backwards

Tried to teach her baby sisters how to sing Wind the Bobbin. (They however are not keen on having their delicate little hands almost dislocated at the wrist as she forces the winding & pulling actions on them).

Asked me to sing Ally Bally about 5 million times .

Started to make up stories e.g.
DD - Grandad crying
Me: Why was Grandad crying?
DD: sore
Me What was sore?
DD: Sore tummy
Complete rubbish!

Taken & eaten food scraps from the kitchen bin

Did 2 wees in the potty ? & one on the floor

Swept my bed with the kitchen brush ? as I was trying to put clean sheets on.

Stripped her cot down to the mattress & thrown sheets & covers on the floor because she didn?t want her afternoon nap.

keepingitRia · 28/02/2009 09:34

when is he back Jammy? Is this where you ate last week?

poor you natty

busy weekend here. shopping for birthday present this morning (when DH gets out of bed - apparently a good nights sleep away from home doesn't count) for party for DS2 this afternoon and I'm meant to be going to town with dsis when she finishes work. forestry tomorrow, then Monday is shopping for DM and collecting them from the station.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

keepingitRia · 28/02/2009 09:37

phew, busy week for you Tbelle.

baggins has been doing the getting stuck thing - on top of living room radiator, and he grabbed a piece of apple we'd just put in the rodent hutch yesterday, and defiantly stuffed it in his mouth whole

TALLULAHBELLE · 28/02/2009 10:25

I guess the germs will be good for the immune system Ria.DD will eat anything from anywhere but she has only ever puked twice so I reckon the fact that she is a total grubber/ midgie raker must be a good thing.

LackaDAISYcal · 28/02/2009 14:34

oh, Ally Bally; takes me back a bit Tallulah . I must sing it to my lot, in heavily accented scots .

lol at DD1. My little princess is also a bit of a scrubber and frequently snacks from the tub we have of scraps for the compost bin! she also likes to use the toilet rim block as face cream and washes her hands in the cat's bowl.

She does wind the bobbin on her teddies and dollies; hasn't occurred to her to try it with bumble (thank goodness), although he does have his dummy taken out and stuffed back in 20 times every hour, and this morning she fed him some (thankfully very well diluted) ribena . He nearly choked, the poor lamb. she is really interested ion offering him food, so I'm going to have to watch her carefully around him when she is snacking.

I've had my hair done...woohoo. It is a very short graduated bob, with a rich dark brown semi colour and looks fab. I feel like a new woman. I also used my Christmas and birthday money and treated myself to some new perfume and some wrinkle creams. My new decade resolution is to look after my hair and skin, the body also needs attention, but that's a long term project

great news for DH about the job Ria. I hope this lot are better than the last bunch of tossers.

Natty, sorry to hear DD is poorly again. Maybe you need to be scrupulous using alcohol gel for a bit....sounds like you are just passing bugs around each other over and over again. It's hard with young children though; they are right little grubbers at times. DS and DD have been playing "pass the snot" all winter.

TALLULAHBELLE · 28/02/2009 15:01

Hi Daisy - Yeah DD does wind the bobbin with her dollies too but its so much more fun with a live'un. Puts the dummies in too which saves me & DH arguing over who's turn it is. She just helped with the washing-unpegging all the socks & undies from the drier thingy & putting them in the basket. Did a great job. Of course they were all still wet & I had to hang them back up again but gotta give points for trying- sigh. Made me laugh today though - went in to get her from her nap & had to comment on the stink in her room. "Did E do a poo?" I asked. "No, dolly did," she said.

Your hair sounds lovely, really glam. Got mine cropped yesterday- its really short so that I can just wash & leave it. Next step is to get eyebrows & legs waxed then I will start to think about getting in shape. Maybe. I'm a bit fed up being scummy mummy but my joggies are the only thing that fits.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/02/2009 15:23

Tallulah - I'm worn out reading about your week!

Ria, not quite - we ate at his pub (cheaper!) here.

And for anyone wanting to smarten up/de-slummify themselves come here for inspiration.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/02/2009 15:24

Your hair does sound fab Daisy!

Took jamlet to the natural history museum, I think she loved it. Certainly threw a strop when we left! Is now upstairs complaining at the indignity of being taken for a nap after sitting next to Mummy on the bus like a big girl.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 28/02/2009 16:25

i have declared WAR on germs today!!

i have spent the whole day cleaning. i have used and entire spray bottle of antibac, and 2 bottles of bleach, 3 scourers, a mop head and a whole packet of cloths. if there are any germs hiding in my house i wanna know where!!
me a DH had a chat about it last night and he agreed that its possiibly cos the house is particulary cluttered atm, not nessecerly dirty, just that its hard to clean properly around so many piles of toys/washing/paperwork.

feel a bit that i didnt think of it, but i suppose we have never really had a sickness bug before, we are more a cold suffering family!!

ellen is better again today, still grumpy, but not being sick, ive got to strip their beds and antibac the frames when they wake up (they been sleeping since 3 lol) just incase there are any germs lurking.

i am fucking shattered now. but hopefully we can get this bug. i cant bare watching ellen being sick she get so upset by it, screaming "no more mummy pleeeeaaassee" betweens retches. i really feel awful for her.

oh, PMSL. DS1 has just told me that with my new hairdo I look like "the lady from the Garfield films". So, looks like a career as a Jennifer Love-Hewitt lookeylikey is on the cards
