sounds nice jammy!

ellen had a funny conversation with DH this morning in bed:

DH: "ellen, have you got red toes?"
E: "no fat ones!"
DH: "oh dear what do we do with fat toes"
E: "eat them"
DH: "are you sure they are fat toes then?"
E: "no red!"

what a random child and hubby i have!

aaarerrghhhh DD is being a little minx this morning. Into everything she shouldn't be, winding DS1 up and then he's getting in trouble when he goes too far and she cries(although she starts it ) and is now scattering all bumble's clothes all over the living room!

We are off out to Temple Newsam to let them run off some steam, visit the farm and to have lunch in the lovely cafe.

sorry for poorliness, early wakings. DH let me sleep in till 10 this morning, bless him

later xx

Natty. Looking forward to jamlet being able to talk like that.

She was a bit unsure about the pool. She was just getting settled into it and splashing about when the wave machine came on. She thought it was fun at first but it goes on for quite a long time and it got a bit much for her and she wanted to get out. So we did for a minute or so, but I took the "get straight back on the horse" attitiude, and we went back in for five mins, which she wasn't at all sure about but when we saw a little boy having lots of fun that cheered her up, and we had a splash about again and even ducked ourselves under the water a couple of times and I think she had a good time overall. Then we had drinks in the cafe and a trip to the swings - trying to make it into a really fun outing. Maybe next time I'll pick a session with no wave machine though?

We have half of jamlets books, toys and puzzles scattered all over the living room too. For weeks she's only wanted her ITNG books, her fire station and cars, and suddenly today she wants everything! I guess she's just got tired of the same old things?

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 01/03/2009 16:36

lol jammy!

back from the forestry, nice walk and play in the park, although DS1 has been a little ahit with the most awful attitude (how DH didn't clout him I don't know) DH thinks he was playing up to his friend.
I have washed DFs car, and our car twice (the boys "helped" and made it worse). So I'm a bit tired.

butterfly, I have a strange idea that someone told me that lukewarm baths with bicarb in helped with the itching?

I have always fancied going to Temple Newsam daisy. will google later.

I am wondering if jamlet may have c-pox now. Her arms are covered in blister-like spots. And part of one leg and one of her buttocks But the confusing thing is that most of the arms/affected parts look very red, not normal skin colour with red spots on like the pics I've been looking at Another possibility is a heat rash as she had a thick jumper on, but apart from some on one buttock her torso was unaffected and I would expect that to be if it was a heat rash?

Ohforfoxsake · 01/03/2009 19:19

The normally start on the torso. Are they tiny pin-prick spots?

You'll know soon enough. They go yellow and crusty. Bicarb in bath is good.

Sorry to hear LO is suffering Butterfly. I found anti-histamine really useful, Dr gave me a mild one for DD when she had it.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/03/2009 19:29

No, quite big spots. I wonder what it is then?

Ohforfoxsake · 01/03/2009 19:40

It certainly good be then. How is she in herself?

They start spreading and crusting up pretty quickly. Worth a visit to the GP tomorrow to be sure I'd say.

Assuming it's still there in the morning I was going to take her to the GP or at least the pharmacist. Looks like I will taking the day off work. At least that means we don't have to rush to get the 7.30 bus (Car is finally being fixed after my scrape a few weeks back )

keepingitRia · 01/03/2009 20:49

poor jamlet too. I found with the boys that DS1 and baggins had a lot of spots but weren't overly poorly, but DS2 didn't have many spots at all, though the ones he did have were quite big, and he was poorly.

He is not well tonight, he fell asleep snuggled up to me while I was getting baggins settled. DH was being an arse this morning (the usual, hardly did anything to help get ready for the outing, rushed everyone into the car while I finished other things) and poor DS2 ended up without a coat because no-one (DH) checked. He was shivering. We put him in DS1s fleecy jumper to keep him warm (despite not taking his wellies he did manage to take a warm coat). He looks dreadful again and has a slight temperature and a headache. I am tempted to go and get in with him and snuggle him better, but I have loads left to do

have you got a dress yet foxy?

keepingitRia · 01/03/2009 20:56

stuff it! I am too cold and tired to care about housework or wait up for DH. I'm off to snuggle my poorly boy.

night all.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/03/2009 21:17

I have eaten a big bar of choc I feel rather sick now

OK, I stripped our bed earlier but haven't put the clean sheets on yet. So I am off to do that and then get in and enjoy that fresh bedding experience Night all.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/03/2009 21:34

evening all.

I hope DS2 isn't suffering too much butterfly, and that jamlet hasn't got the pox, although blisters sound a bit ominous. Maybe pop in to see a pharmacist tomorrow Jammy and see what they think.

Enjoy your cuddles with DS2 Ria.

Temple Newsam was fantastic . What a great place. The farm was brilliant, lots of animals to see and there were lots of piglets of differing ages, and a few lambs, but the ewe's are all indoors as they are starting to lamb now. There were a few who were very obviously in early labour and we missed a pair being born by about half an hour. Annoying as it happened when we were there but we were looking elsewhere. they were still being cleaned up by mum and we saw them get their first drink.....bloody marvellous. DD loved feeding the sheep, but she was a bit unsure about the cows!! she loved the chickens, geese and turkeys and said her favourite bit was the rabbits. We should meet up there sometime Ria. A family ticket (2+3) to the farm bit only (we didn't bother with the stately home!) was £8.50 which I thought really reasonable. you can walk for miles around the grounds and there are a couple of playgrounds as well. Can't believe I've never been before, especially as entry is free if we get Leeds cards.

Unfortunately my evening hasn't been quite so good as I had another gallbladder attack . It was really bad, came on suddenly with no warning, just after I'd eaten my tea and after half an hour of sweating and groaning, I threw up as well. thankfully it has calmed down now, but not sure whether it's passed or just the co-codamol kicking in. The sooner I have this op the better.

Ouch Daisy. Sorry about your pains. Glad you had a good day though It sounds lovely. One of our local farms has an open weekend to see the lambs the weekend of mother's day. So we should be going there - have been a couple of times before pre-jamlet and it's always nice.

And hope DS is OK Butterfly. Yes it did look like red around jamlet's spots. And I think there were enough of them that it just ended up in the whole arm being red

Hope you're enjoying your ciddles Ria!

FrazzledFairyFay · 02/03/2009 04:19

Just need a big whinge, feel free to ignore. Why the Fark does DS choose the night that Dh is away to scream at 10pm, and wkae up DD so that I have them both awake/in bed crying until 1am? And double why the fark does DS then think it's acceptable to wake up again at 3:30? There's nothing wrong with him, he just wants to play, but becaus eI've ended up with DD in bed with me, I'm sitting here in the lounge at 4am listening to him whinging through the monitor, so DD doesn't wake up again. Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Thanks, as you were
