hey guys

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TheNatty · 25/03/2009 14:59

i had mine put in last year norty, it doesnt hurt, its no worse then a smear test, so if you find them unbearable (i personally dont) then i can imagine it might hurt.

they are good cos then u can forget about it and get on with your life.
they are easy to remove when u want i went to a walk in clinic and had mine removed, fell pregnant straight away no long term effects.
only downside is heavy periods, which may settle i only had mine in 6 or 7 months.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/03/2009 16:07

When I went to the doc the other week, she suggested the coil. But as we might be wanting to try for DC2 within a year (ssh!) she then withdrew the suggestion, on the grounds that it's not worth the hassle and expense for short term use.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 16:12

I know waaaaay too many women who have gotten pregnant with a coil fitted for me to trust it. Norty did you not fancy getting sterilised when they did your CS?

Was at the key stage 1 SATs meeting at school this afternoon....first time out with the pram since I had my op and all was going well....until I got a fecking puncture. the school isn't exactly pushchair friendly either so I had to bump it down two lots of stairs, and then back up again to collect DS (either that or a five minute detour), then pushed it with just bumble in, one handed on the way home and it kept veering off to the side. I now have a horrible pain where my gallbladder used to be and have strained my bicep. But DD slept all through the meeting which was my main worry.

sorry about your pelvic issues foxy. Is it possible that the coil being there is causing a bit of irritation or infection that is causing your bladder to be more sensitive than normal. I would get it checked out, but in the meantime, stop caffeine. I switched to caffiene free tea and diet coke and my bladder issue got a LOT better. I'm now back on full strength tea and diet coke and when I had a sneezing fit this morning, I didn't wet my pants and I have the confidence to leave the house without a TENA lady.

Q for fairy, jammy or holly?.....do you have slime in your P&T tyres/inner tubes? Does it help? And how does one repair a puncture?

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 16:15

sorry norty that was maybe a bit of a blunt question........you might be planning on DC3 soon

ooooh jammy, how exciting

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/03/2009 16:18

Quick answer before I go off to play with Jamlet - never heard of P&T slime. And thankfully not had a puncture as wouldn't know how to mend it, never having ridden a bike!

HellHathNoFury · 25/03/2009 16:18

erm from memory Norty WAS sterilised unless I am totally wrong?!

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 16:27

daisy from repairing a puncture on a bike i can tell you how i would do it?

take the inner tube out, pump it up a bit and run it thru a bucket of water. when you see bubbles in the water you can find the exact spot of the puncture (this is if the puncture isnt visable) but DO run the whole tub thru the water you can puncture from the same object in more then one place.

then get a puncture repair kit, glue and patch.

i find chalking up the tube helps it go back in easier.. dunno if that would work with this slime you mentioned..

LittleMissNorty · 25/03/2009 16:37

fucking hell....no more babies in this house! My DH is still moaning about the lack of sex . One day, I might be awake enough to give it a go but god knows when!

I wasn't sterilised when I had E....was planning to but was talked out of it the morning of the section by the surgeon. He said that if my reasoning was "while you're down there....." (which it was), then that wasn't a good enough reason to do it.

He also said that statistically, there are more pregnancies after sterilisation, than there are with the (minera) coil .

I kid you not, I really do not want to go through this again....he is bloody gorgeous, and I love my kids to pieces, but never again!!

LittleMissNorty · 25/03/2009 16:38

how exciting Jammy

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 16:59

This stuff jammy

It forms a seal whenever you get a puncture so no need for repairs.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 17:01

never again sums up how I feel as well norty

And I am still not back in the saddle . DH has the patience of a saint, or like me is just too knackered to care.

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 17:33

no sex here either, had some spotting the last time so ive banned him from coming anywhere near me till 35 weeks, bliss!
im far to tired, and i dont know if anyone else feels likes this but after a day of being climbed on, hugged, kicked, smacked, sat on etc i rather like to have my body to myself for a while in the evenings. (well the baby then starts but what u gonna do! )

is that just me? the "over touched" feeling?

FrazzledFairyFay · 25/03/2009 17:59

Just running in and out..... No I don't have slime in P&T and have had at least 4 punctures. Am a bit but each time I've taken it to teh local bike shop where the nice man has propped it up on a brick, removed the wheel and replaced the inner tube for me.

I am going out tonight. I will enjoy it when I get there but could do without the hour drive each way. Have good evenings everyone

Sputnik · 25/03/2009 18:33

I feel exactly like that Natty. Especially as I'm still bf and co-sleeping too. And I can't even sit down on the sofa during the day without being climbed on.
Anyway, glad it's not just me.

Exciting news Jammy

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 18:53

fairy, I wouldn't even know where there was a bike shop!

FIL is over tomorrow and he is a Proper Cyclist so I'll ask him to do it for me

Ohforfoxsake · 25/03/2009 19:08

That's great advice Daisy, especially as it started as soon as I had it fitted. I'm also bloated at the mo too.

It took a while to settle down Norty, suffered migranes and no sex drive, but its righted itself now. And I've not had a proper period in 5 months (infact nothing at all the last 3) which makes it all worthwhile in my book.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 19:43

woohoo, I have repaired my puncture....as soon as I started it all came back to me. A bit like......we.......riding a bike

foxy, get it checked out. I know how depressing wee issues can be and think that part of the reason I feel so well at the minute is I'm no longer worrying about wetting myself at every sneeze.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/03/2009 20:10

Well done Daisy!

I've done my exercise - Davina's "supersculpt" workout with about 5000 squats and 500 abdo curls/crunches in. Or at least it felt like that! One hour of work to do now and then the rest of the evening is my own

Ohforfoxsake · 25/03/2009 20:18

I know I keep saying it, but seriously impressed again Jammy! Are you seeing results? Wore my Monsoon dress at the weekend and felt fab. Its lovely and very flattering.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/03/2009 20:26

Thanks Foxy Yes I am seeing results, both with the scales and the clothing/tape measure. I've now lost 12kg - almost 2 stone I think, and have had to nick a belt from DH as my jeans are too loose And I had several people telling me today that I look great

Can we see photos of youo in your dress Foxy? I am so hoping I can fit into and look fab in mine come the end of July. It dawned on me the other day that as I'll be doing the photos, while obviously I won't be anywhere near as important as the bride, it does mean that everyone will be looking at me for a few minutes at least and I can't just blend into the crowd and hide if I'm feeling all fat and awkward.

Sputnik · 25/03/2009 20:27

Yes, very impressed here too Jammy. I hate squats!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 20:30

all hail jammy, queen of the crunches

I am seriously impressed by your commitment and once I'm match fit again I hope to get off my sorry arse and lose my 2 stone.

Are we all excited about the apprentice coming on??

HellHathNoFury · 25/03/2009 20:38

I crunch too! I crunch my way through a kit kat chunky most days....

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/03/2009 20:39

I used to be indifferent to/unaware of squats Sputnik, but I am learning to hate them too!
