hey guys

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LackaDAISYcal · 24/03/2009 22:36

MNHQ are aware and it'll be sorted tomorrow.....apparently we have lost our wee box that says we can get 10% discount yadayada and this has screwed everything up.

MN has certainly been a bit quiter tonight...although I've just been bodding about in other topics.

DH has just discovered a load of camera lenses that he paid £35 for in the garage. He's checked what they are selling for on ebay and they are worth about £500

Ohforfoxsake · 25/03/2009 09:22

tsk

HellHathNoFury · 25/03/2009 09:52

I think that I shall go to Westfield and spend some money

I just spend a shed load in mothercare, why break the habit of a lifetime?

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 10:00

I try and avoid Mothercrapcare at all costs. You can always get things cheaper elsewhere and the staff are 1)too thin on the ground and 2)a bit rude. Or maybe that's just my local store!!

enjoy your spending spree!

HellHathNoFury · 25/03/2009 10:18

I don't mind mothercare, I always get stuff there ridiculously cheap as I get it while it's on sale.
I bought a Maclaren techno xlr there for £140 with all the accessories a couple of months ago, yesterday I bought a little tikes climbing frame reduced from £150 to £80.

Plus if you buy through quidco, you get 5% off, if you use discount code JF9 or AF8 you get free delivery and 10% off, and if you buy it with an amex you get another 1.5% off.

And if you buy online, no sales staff. Although having said that they have always been fine too.

Perfect.

I wouldn't get everything from them though, only when it's on sale, and their mat wear is the only stuff that fits me properly.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 10:21

see, as a short arsed wee thing their maternity stuff is always too long for me; even the supposed short length trails on the ground!!

sounds like good bargains though....am off to look at climbing frames

I'm going to have a wee rant about DH's work. They aren't supposed to use their mobiles for personal use.....well he has phoned home with his a few times, when he is out on the road to tell me when he'll be home to see I'm OK having just had an operation etc etc. Not unreasonable things to do. Rather than ask him what the number is, they have put a block on it so when he tried to call yesterday it just rung out. what officious twuntery is that????

HellHathNoFury · 25/03/2009 10:32

That's really shit Daisy, I can't believe the cheek of some companies, honestly!

Their mat wear fits me PERFECTLY.
H&M fits my top, not bottom, next fits my bottom, not top, I can't afford all the glam mum places, and Mothercare fits both.

But no I do agree with you, generally I get stuff cheaper elsewhere, but can't knock the bargains I found just lately!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 10:37

What size are you, if that isn't too rude to ask? I have some hardly worn mothercare maternity tops in a 16 if you are interested. One of them is very bright green though......not my wisest purchase ever as I'm not a green person!!

HellHathNoFury · 25/03/2009 10:38

Thanks Daisy that's a lovely offer, but alas I can only dream of a land where I can wear a 16

I wear either size 18/20 mothercare tops, size 18 bottoms. Huge boobs y'see.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 10:52

Ah well, never mind.

My cold is stepping up a gear today...I have just had a hideous sneezing fit

LittleMissNorty · 25/03/2009 11:08

Morning

Just got back from our 6 week check and all is OK (except my mind of course!!). Apparently E is just possetting and throwing up over half your feed for the following 3 hours and getting through 9 babygros a day is normal...."some babies are more sick than others" ....my god, I hope he grows out of it soon, otherwise he is condemed a childhood dressed in nothing but babygro's.....if he had proper clothes on, he'd get through his entire wardrobe in a day.

Sorry about the cold Daisy .....it'll work its way around the family as well now...

Stupid bastards re mobile phone....DHs old company used to get itemised bills, and any number that wasn't work, they took out of his salary.

Right, better go and feed my little man....DD at nursery today.....gives my ears a rest from all the screeching, screaming and crying I suppose....and I can watch something vaguely adult on the TV instead of her bollocks educational programmes

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 11:37

daisy can i be really cheeky..
im a 14-16

had kids hoovering the stairs this morning, that kept them busy for half hour

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 11:39

oh and norty, they fobbed me off with that, turned out tom has a milk allergy...

if it doesnt stop by 3 months then push further, at the end of the day yes babys are sicky, esp formula fed ones, but they shouldnt fob u off.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 11:46

They have all had it already Norty...I'm last in line!

not cheeky at all Natty. I've got your addy, so will sort through some stuff and see what's decent enough to wear again. Could you cover the postage though?

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 11:49

no problem daisy let me know how much and ill PP you x

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 11:54

Norty, meant to say could it be reflux? would gaviscon help? I would go and see your GP (although if it's the same one as before.....)

how violent is the puking as well? Is it projectile?

LittleMissNorty · 25/03/2009 12:04

It was the GP who done the check this morning - and I suggested reflux, but apparently not as its not projectile. Seeing the HV next week, so may have a word then.

I weighed him this morning and he was 11lb 7oz ...when I looked up DDs weight at the same age, she was only just 10lb. So even though he is puking for England (or Scotland ), he's doing OK.

GP now does the jab as well as we've got a new practice nurse who doesn't do immunisations ....I fear for him, but what can I do?

My 6 week checks involved taking my BP and that's it....no contraception talk, no PND talk (although I was handed a prescription for my ADs), not even checking my scar....fucking GP...really must change

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 12:06

change surgeries!

DS1 was a projectile vomitter but still ended up on the 91st centile. I'd never heard of reflux then and just thought it was normal.

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 12:54

yeah thomas was 25th but stayed there, even tho he wasnt digesting the milk properly.
i think weighet gain doesnt mean a great deal in some situations, esp when some breast fed babies loose weight for no reason and they tell you to swtich to formula, or if they have a reflux problem but tell you its not a problem because they are gaining weight!!

hope you get it sorted. you never know it might clear up on its own but gaviscon can work wonders in the mean time

Ohforfoxsake · 25/03/2009 13:35

bloody hell

apart from flu, my pelvic floor appears to not be working anymore

Hello everyon BTW

Norty, guess where I'm going on 16th April (and if you don't know DP will) bet you're of me, huh? huh?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/03/2009 13:58

Just back from a morning volunteering at our children's centre. I'm worn out! Jamlet asleep in the buggy, I've just had my sandwich and now going to try to do some work so I have time to do some exercise tonight as I missed the gym this morning because I was volunteering. Phew!

Sorry about your cold Daisy, and your flu and tena needs Foxy And your puking baby and crap GP Norty But I am intrigued now Foxy - where ARE you going?

LittleMissNorty · 25/03/2009 13:59

I have no idea Foxy but I bet you I'm not .........is it quarter final time? Bet your DS is made up? Is it just him, or all the (male members of the) family that are supporters?

When DH is 40 in a couple of years, I shall take him for a hospitality weekend and match etc. Nearer the time I shall have to find out who the shit teams are though and make sure we go then, as he really sulks when they lose ...god only knows why he supports Scotland then as they appear to be shit at footie and rugby .

Ohforfoxsake · 25/03/2009 14:10

Man City. My first footy match and am very excited DS2 is the fan (and DH). DS1 has more sense and supports a team that actually wins matches.

Am very depressed about the 'tena' situation. It seems to have started when I had the coil fitted.

makes me feel decrepid [sp?]

oh well, off to school parents meetings to find out how wonderful my kids are at school. if only they were as wonderful at home!

LittleMissNorty · 25/03/2009 14:19

It will be good fun Foxy (as long as they win)....the atmosphere is great.

In my younger days when I worked at St Thomas', I used to go to Highbury with a mate on a Saturday afternoon....in the days when you stood up (and I could hardly see anything as I'm only 5 ft!!).

Fingers crossed they win otherwise you'll have them coming out in tears!

My DH has never been to a match either, which I find amazing for a complete sports nut.

I tried to persuade him to go to the open a couple of years ago when it was at Sandwich but he didn't.....and when I saw the queues of traffic, I realised why!

But I'm definately going to the olympics! Cycling if I can

LittleMissNorty · 25/03/2009 14:29

I was going to book an appointment about the coil....you're really putting me off Foxy.....

how was it when you had it fitted? Did it hurt?
