Hi guys,

Just popping by to say hello! From a brief scan it seems everyone is well and had a lovely time at the meet up. Am so glad all little ones are doing fabulously. Cerys is a joy - is it me or is 1-2 yrs old just the most exciting time ever?! Maybe we are sickeningly doting parents but we just find her such good company at the moment. She is racing about all over the place and trying out a few words - absolute favourite game is to stand behind a door and peekabo round it going "Hey-lo!" with a huge grin. We can all do that for 10 mins at a time without tiring it would seem.

Work is busy, Dad had 2 heart attacks just after her first birthday which was awful but he seems to be on the mend. DH well tho' too busy and we are going to a nice hotel for 4 days next week to just chill out.

Anyway sending all my love out to everyone and relying on someone to tell me if there is any major news I should know in the next couple of days.

barristermum · 02/03/2009 16:09

How exciting Lucky - Aaliyah Well done little treasure. Did you cry Lucky? I did when Cerys first did in front of me.

simpson · 02/03/2009 16:21

Lucky - well done A!!

Barristermum - sorry to hear about your dad but glad he is on the mend...

DS enjoying the sunny weather here and playing outside with boy from next door with their bikes.

I do predict melt down when I ask him to come in though

LuckySalem · 02/03/2009 17:01

Hi BM - Glad your back sorry to hear about your dad.
Yes I cried like a little baby!! lol - soppy cow!

Lilyloo · 02/03/2009 17:06

Phew, home from work. Friend wasn't in today so was quiet but meant i actually got stuff done! we chat too much

You're all very kind saying i don't need to diet but i know what weight i should be, and it's a good few pounds away yet. my BMI is in the healthy range so that's why i've slacked off recently but must get back on the wagon.

G - started a thread about the mooncup Q, some people do leak after a bath, some don't.
think i will just take it out for bathtime (or remember to empty it straight after). got the size for people who've had DC. doesn't leak at all the rest of the time so think it's in roughly the right place, lol.
glad boys feeling better today. handy having Il close by, wish i had anyone i could call on for school runs, especially.
That's so annoying with the money stuff, i get really frustrated with that kind of thing. Have you looked on the net for holidays? might be cheaper, ask Lucky where she found hers.

Ange - hope you are managing to stay sane with builders in. a friend of mine with 2 LOs has builders starting soon, any tips?!

Countess - hey there! your weight loss is going well is anyone on a good weight loss thread? i've been on a few but everybody gives up, lol.

Lucky - v cute pics
And hooray for A walking!!!

Mixedm - that sounds like real progress! wish my DH would think about being healthier. he needs to lose a fair bit of weight but has no self-control where food & drink is concerned.

LaT - i'm no help, i would've stayed at home rather than live with PIL with DH coming and going!
His work does sound interesting though. and by the next book S will be in school so you won't be able to go with him

Barristermum - hey there saw you on another thread the other day and meant to haul you back in here
sorry to hear about your dad, hope he recovers ok. next week sounds good, C going with you? can't think of major news......brain is a sieve

Mrsmc - you about anywhere???

Can we have a countdown of pg ladies?
MrsMc, Nicky & Rubysmom i think, but can't remember how far along they are. may hunt on AN threads later.

AIBU to give my DCs Greggs & fruit shoots once a year at an MN meetup, pmsl

LuckySalem · 02/03/2009 19:00

G - I got my holiday from highstreet. I went in and gave a budget and luckily they'd had a cancellation. May be worth doing that closer to the date you want as they'll have some cancellations that are dead cheap. Ours was £360 for all of us but should have been £360 each.

LaTrucha · 02/03/2009 19:57

Lucky - That's so exciting! What exactly happened?

JKS - I hadn't thought about that! ALthough we have sort of agreed that Sabela learning Spanish and knowing her Spanish family is important enough for us to take her out of school if necessary. Coming here was a close-run thing but I would have felt so selfish. And if I'm pg, I am terrified of getting hyperemesis again. It would be so hard without someone to look after Sabela.

Simpson - did he have a meltdown?

Barristermum - glad you're enjoying Serys so much. Hope your dad continues to improve.

Gingeme - how frustrating! Have you tried looking online. I used expedia for our honeymoon and it seemed ok to me.

Lilyloo - quiet today?

Mixedmama - LOL at Camden. Does he ever go south o fthe river?

Where's MAdmouse?

I just CATed MrsMc because she hasn't been around for a while. Is that stalkerish of me?

We had a nice day which seems always to involve spending money ATM. Sabela was absolutely precious all day, behaving really well and giving ou thugs and kisses. She even blew kisses. Cute

Lilyloo · 02/03/2009 20:19

Evening all

M seems to be eating a bit more now and has had a couple of 'happy' hours today.
Hope we seeing the back of this bug now.
However she has massively upped the bf and combined with the still poor sleeping i feel really shattered!

Still to get bunkbeds for H and L so M can go in her own room. Dp car still in garage trying to get MOT so we can get new car Wed.
Hoped it would be ready today so we could get bunks tom eve as dont want to be jamming them in new car!

LOL at being quiet its being car less so everything on the bus takes ages.
Pre school said dd1 very quiet today hope she not getting it!

LaT hope MrsM ok she is very quiet

Gingeme try OnTheBeach on internet they can do quite cheap ones.

LaTrucha · 02/03/2009 20:26

I know how it is when they get ill and all they want to do is bfeed. Can make you a bit and tired. My sympathy to you.

MrsMc has been on MN but not on here. I hope we didn't scare her off by chatting too much.

madmouse · 02/03/2009 20:42

I am here

Dh and I had rare blazing row last night, kept me up most of the night crying/lying awake so shattered. all sorted though

Tough day at work, including one of my staff going awol? HR is trying to find him. He phoned on Friday that he was not coming in as his 2 year old was in hospital so hope it is nothing serious. Almost prefer the other option which is him dodging the rather unpleasant meeting he was ue to have with me

And poor Nathan has conjunctivitis. His eyes are such a mess and he is not quite his chirpy self, not eating as much etc. It started on Saturday you can see it in some of the pics. I was keeping an eye on it but when dh picked him up from cm at 5.15 she felt it needed a doctor, she had cleaned it every hour. Our practice is good, dh took him straight there and was out again in five minutes, without even an appointment. so now he has antibiotic eye drops. And despite his size (someone on Saturday called him miniature lol) it takes both me and dh and a dose of willpower to get the drops in. Four times a day. For five days at least. Groan...

Lucky, she was walking on Saturday - just on her knees just kidding well done Aaliyah and proud mummy Lucky!

Lily I have visions of my slightly hyper tot after a fruitshoot. Does not bear thinking about

Nathan has jabs tomorrow. Anyone know whether the conjunctivitis will be a problem? I will ask nurse and if he is very miserable tomorrow I will cancel.

JustKeepSwimming · 02/03/2009 20:46

Just done some searching and found the following:
Rubysmom - due in May
MrsMc - due in June
Nicky6 - due in July

LaT - i see what you mean about the importance of spanish in S's life. You may feel different once she's in school. You can always go to Spain in school holidays instead - join DH when he''s there (assuming his future books will also involve him being in Spain?).
re the sickness, i guess that being over there will certainly be a good thing. how's that plan going btw???

H has started trying to blow kisses too copying Upsy Daisy, lol.

Lily - hope you can get the bunkbeds soon. do you know where you're getting them from?
Hope M drops some feeds as she ups her food intake for your sake.

Madmouse - sorry to hear about the row and poor N. they prob won't do jabs if his eyes are bad. o you think the hospital story could have been made up by the guy at work?

Off to bed soon. Hopefully to sleep.....was awake at 12, 2, 4, 5, then 5.45 with Tom last night....

LuckySalem · 02/03/2009 20:49

I wouldn't have thought conjunctivitus would stop the jabs unless he has a fever.
And he is miniature but definatly has a strong will
Sorry to hear about you and DH rowing - I hope all is ok now.

Right ok whole story (now I'm back home again)

Firstly you need to get the layout of mums house so you can understand just how far she walked. Front room (10ft across) joins straight into the kitchen (8ft across).

DD was sitting on mums knee on the far end of the living room and she said right I tell you what lets get your shoes and socks back on and we'll go for a walk outside. So she put DD down and said go get your shoes for me (expecting her to crawl) so she just went. Got about 1/2 way across the living room and plonked onto her knees to a chorus of clapping. So I picked her up again and off she went into the kitchen

Only video I have though is of the 2nd time where she only took about 3 steps so am a little ashamed I didn't have camera poised so DP could have "been there"

madmouse · 02/03/2009 20:49

JKS what BMI are you aiming for?

have bought a sports bra today. Going to start running again rather than wait until I am slim before doing so. Have my eye slightly madly on the Coventry half marathon at the end of October, at the same time hoping i will be pregnant by then

Hoping to raise some cash for SSNAP the charity that supports the SCBU where Nathan was.

Gingeme · 02/03/2009 20:59

Evening ladies.
No I wouldn't book a holiday on line. Like to have things down in black and white and someone to ring up or visit if theres a problem. Going to a couple of other travel agents tommorrow.
Madmouse George has some more jabs tommorrow too. DH taking him again. No wouldn't have thought they would do his jabs but you an only ask.
Hi Barristermum funny I was talking about you the other day to DH. Glad your well and Cerys sounds just lovely. Best wishes to your Dad xx
Lilly glad that M is on the mend your doing great still bf I am impressed to say the least. Hope it evens out a bit soon though for your sake
Just got some more Shoo Shoos for George. He still refuses to put proper shoes on. Still they are pretty hardy and can be washed so I'm not too worried.
Right time for a hot choc night night all xxx

JustKeepSwimming · 02/03/2009 21:01

Madmouse - not really aiming for a specific BMI, but a weight. 8,7/54kgs as that was my wedding/pre-pg1 weight

Also to be able to comfortably wear my original clothes. Esp the summer clothes i took to Bermuda last time, i want to wear them in Bermuda again in June

Go for it on the running, not my cup of tea though. I'm better at the sponsoring side of things, lol

lucky - that sounds great with the walking! H took his first few steps a while ago but no progress since. he's too lazy chilled

right, really off to bed now, night all

simpson · 02/03/2009 21:06

Lucky - A must have got the idea on Saturday being walked around by Lily

Does anyone else have a LO who is now refusing to be spoon fed at all??

DD will not eat when I feed her wants fingery food type meals now which is going to make it even harder to think of things to feed her. Grrr

May have to bite the bullet and give Molly the spoon and see if she will do it herself...

LuckySalem · 02/03/2009 21:08

Simps - A WILL NOT EAT FROM ME. I can't even give her a piece of food straight into her mouth. She has to take it in her hand. Never mind being spoon fed?!?!

If you look on FB you will see that she's getting the spoon thingie and it isn't as messy as you would have thought.

simpson · 02/03/2009 21:10

Ds was the total opposite and wanted me to feed him for ages...think he was nearly 2 before he started to use cutlery

If DD refuses to feed herself with a spoon then I am going to be really limited in what I can feed her

madmouse · 02/03/2009 21:42

JKS yes I cannot rule out that this guy may be making it up there is a bit of history. But I rather have a disciplinary on my hands than the thought of a baby so ill that daddy forgets to phone work. If he was making it up I would have expected him to phone in sick though..

Something funny just happened. I wrote in Lucky's chat box on facebook and her dp started typing back!! lol Lucky was off for some dinner . Told him he must be very proud of his dd and he said he was aaah

simpson · 02/03/2009 21:53

Awww bless Lucky's DP

Madmouse - hope guys LO at your work ok. If he is making it up then pretty low thing to do

LuckySalem · 02/03/2009 22:11

Simps - DP got abit panicked when I told him to just send a quick msg and then MM spoke to him. LMAO. What do I say he's going!! lol.

simpson · 02/03/2009 22:17

LoL

Can I ask you a quick question on this spoon feeding lark, did you just give A the spoon or did you have to show her what to do iyswim???

LuckySalem · 02/03/2009 22:36

Simps - I just gave her the spoon she seemed to know what to do. lol, I'd do it naked for abit till she gets the hang of it (unless you dont try it with beans lol)

I've uploaded a vid of aaliyah walking (its not her first set its her 2nd)
