I'm putting them on FB - just requested to be your friend (thought I already was) lol.

Hi again Countess

countesscaloriecounter · 01/03/2009 22:11

Because I'm never here and never keep up.

Toby is walking by the way, and chattering his head off. None of it makes any sense but cute anyway. I hope you are all well. We've had the dreaded vomiting bug here last week. Vile and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Still dieting as you can tell from my name change.Haha. Not very successful this weekend although have lost 15 lbs since start of the year.

Lilyloo · 01/03/2009 22:15

David went to school and Edward had his cereal and a banana
Will pop over to fb soon to look at the pics.
Going to book our holiday today
Hi countess. Well done on the weight loss. Wish I could be that motivated.
Have a good day all xx

mixedmamameansbusiness · 02/03/2009 11:38

Morning all...

Feeling very good today after DH and I went for a run (and some walking). He has decided to lose some weight and get healthier, so has asked me to put together a plan for us all as a family, witht he kids gettign less TV time (yes Madmouse this came form DH mouth was )and more outside getting active time and we get exercise and also as long as he can eat at his mums twice a week to get his curry fixes he is willing to embrace the low fat healthy meals that I have been trying to get him to eat... breakthrough.

Lovely pics and it was a lovely day.

LaTrucha · 02/03/2009 12:08

Ooo well done, Mixedmama! How did you manage that? Sounds good. We have to do something like that once DHs book is finished.

Gingeme- So glad things got better not worse your end. You could do witha break. When I lived in London, I though I could never leave either, but I didn't want to have children in London. I was bought up in London and the Essex countryside and I loved the freedom of the countryside (I loved London too) and I wanted that for my children. So, I didn't have much choise. I was very at first about Aberystwyth but now I like it a lot, especially with small children. I'm REALLY looking forward to taking Sabela up to London when she's older. We had such fun there as kids.

Lovely pictures of you all. It's fun putting names to faces!

We're having another ok day here. I am struggling with myself because I know there are half a dozen good reasons for us being here but I am constantly hankering after home. For example, at home if we have a bad night, I've got a day full of things to do to get me through (groups, friends, swimming, soft play, even housework and food shopping). Here, it's me playing with the baby all day, which I find very difficult sometimes. So if I have a bad night, (and we are having a fair few, I'm not sure why) I really want to go home. But I have to focus on: Dh writing his book, me learning Spanish, getting pg , having someone to look after Sabela if I get pg AND ill, DH learning to drive, getting to know PILs better etc..

mixedmamameansbusiness · 02/03/2009 13:12

I love London and appreciate what it is in terms of its diversity etc but I do want to move further afield as I would prefer to bring up the kids outside a little. TBH as much as I love London and England for all the great benefits we have like NHS etc I would leave tomorrow as I enjoy the thought of living somewhere else. I would go to Turkey in a heartbeat and tbh would consider anywhere I dont really have that emotion attached to living here. MY cousin is immigrating to Oz with his wife (who is from there) and their daughter next month as when he describes the sort of life they are going to have it is incredibly appealing. DH however, is a real London boy and thinks that Camden is a bit far out as he was brought up behind Euston Station.

LaT - Dh came up with it all by himself. Glad though as he is more likely to stick with it this way rather than me nagging him.

What is your DH writing and why does he have to be in Spain to do it... sorry if you have explained and I have either forgotten or not read it. Very exciting and yes try to focus on the other things altho it is easy to say that isnt it.

LaTrucha · 02/03/2009 14:00

I probably haven't explained. DH is a lecturer and he has to write a book every 5 years or so! (although this is his first). The papers he needs are in the National library in Mdrid and some other archives dotted around Spain.

Gingeme · 02/03/2009 14:40

Yes things are much better here health wise thank goodness.
Wow thats great about your DH mm I was thinking of secretly ringing DH's gp and seeing if his dietician would get him to make an appt. He had one last year and was told his cholestarol was quite high so we went on a low fat diet. Was great for about a month but have sloped back into our old ways . If I tell him off for eating something fatty he just tells me to shut up moaning at him . Trouble is he has a different practice so me and I'm not sure what they would say due to patients confidentiaility etc.
What a muck up this morning was re holiday. I have some money in a saving account what was left to me by my grandad. I have to transfer this to my normal account to use the card iyswim? Couldn't do this as all the computers were off line so we went to the travel agent anyway to get some qoutes. We know where we want to go and how much roughly we want to spend. The lady told us there was only one place. Totted it up and it seemed a bit expensive to me. Anyway left there and went to a different branch of my bank. Can't transfer the amount I wanted to without any id . What a waste of a morning
Going to try again tommorrow and go to a different travel agent to see if they have anything a bit cheaper.
Ah well these things are sent to try us eh?
Both boys are sleeping now so Ive asked MIL to pop by while I get David from school. Its handy sometimes having her just up the road
Oh and George has now discovered there is a hole in his nose which he can stick his finger up lovely in the middle of the travel agent....

Gingeme · 02/03/2009 14:41

Ooh that was a long thread wasn't it?
