OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I do hope so,

Its just from the way some of the other mums were talking about it, it sounds like they're going to have to take "action" and I'm worried the action will be excluding her from the clubs which is not the action she needs.

simpson · 03/04/2009 17:50

Might just be the other mothers gossiping though

Tempers, tantrums & toddling?

DH & I have a joint account & we each have a credit card that has the same bill. For online shopping & emergencies. (mostly online shopping in my case, random stuff in his case!)
I have my own account that my pay goes into & CB goes into & DH occasionally bungs some into.
I pay for any supermarket shopping (unless it's online!), most of the kids clothes, my own stuff obv, and random other things i can't think.
He sorts bills, mortgage, car stuff, etc.
it's not 'written down' or anything but that's how things have worked themselves out.
He's an ex-banker so understands lots of accounts, i just have the one

Simps - hope upping the carbs 'solidifies' things
Don't know re the nappies thing, sure i have read to wait until it was dry in the morning. you could try pants & 'lifting' but i'm not personally keen on lifting myself.

Mixed - glad the heating's sorted! grr re your DH, silly man!

G - did the other 2 sleep through G's 2am wake-up?

Madmouse - that doesn't seem right to me, when on Mat Leave, you are OFF work & OFF training too surely? on your behalf and that it's upset you.

Lucky - the HVs are going round? or the mum is? either way not great i don't think.

Yey, weekend is here, got lots of plans mostly garden-oriented so depends on weather....
have new trampoline to assemble & second hand climbing frame to try and piece together!

LuckySalem · 03/04/2009 18:00

JKS I LOVE the title. Sounds perfect.

The HV's have been asking the other mum's whether they saw it and how it made them feel.

simpson · 03/04/2009 19:23

Think I might be in for a bad night with DD

She went down at 6 ok as usual although is starting to refuse her bedtime bottle now....

I have been up with her twice already

She feels a bit hot probably due to jabs on Tues...

Have given her as much calpol/nurofen as I dare!! And she has drunk loads of water....

Guess I had better to go bed early myself just in case I am up lots....

LaTrucha · 03/04/2009 19:23

Well, for once in my life I have three people trying to take Sabela! She only wants to be with me though

Madmouse - yay for the developmental advisor. I can understand why you want Nathan ot be the same everyday. I find it trying that as soon as I think I knwo what's going on Sabela changes. It's a bit different for me though, I know. Lousy about the professional devlopment. I always think those things suck completely anyway. I'm sure you're far too valuable to suspend though.

Mixedmama - how's the new central heating? As to accounts, DH and I each have our own account and we have a joint one. He puts a certain amount into the joint account for bills and food, something into mine for my maintenance and keeps some for himself. The money for him and for me is precious little!

JKS - I always find curry fatal to diets!

Simpson -any luck with the carbs?

Lilyloo - any solution to the mystery spots? ANy other symptoms?

Gingeme - I wonder how tall all your boys are end to end?

Lucky - although I don't trust HV to be tactful or well-informed I think you did the right thing. Sorry about money troubles. It's an absolutely miserable feeling. A doesn't feel miserable though, does she? She has everything she wants in you.

Well, we're doing ok here. MIL is having one of her days and DH is up in arms but I think it's a one-of. We're waitng for SIL to arrive and it alwyas makes here incredibly tense and unhappy. Not sure why.

I don't think I've got anymore time. Sabela up in arms too! Sleeping is ATROCIOUS at th emoment. I sometimes think I've had enough. but what's a girl to do? She's very funny and affectionate at the moment though.

Housemum · 03/04/2009 19:45

Simpson - with DDs 1 and 2 they were v slow to train (nearly 3) then dry at night v quickly after. I waited until the morning nappies were dry - I think I also got the nappy off and let them try to wee straight away when they woke up, so that I could be sure that if nappy was wet it was from overnight not from laziness first thing.

Lucky - you definitely did the right thing. Hopefully HVs are just watching out, and they won't leap in with hob-nailed boots! But there may be a lot more than you've seen so you've nothing to feel guilty about.

Madmouse - would they consider an extenison in the circumstances? After all your mat leave hasn't exactly been "normal" in view of extra time at hospitals etc? How many hours CPD do you need to catch up on?

madmouse · 03/04/2009 20:32

Housemum - I tried to check how many hours I have left but the website where they keep my records is 'temporarily unavailable please check back later'

Somebody suggested me being too valuable to suspend? Very sweet thought, but this is the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner who oversees all immigration law practitioners and who simply has the right to stop me from practising if they want to (if i break one of their precious 'codes'). They are totally useless and unhelpful as an organisation, but have a lot of power.

And I do have an extension, i have been given until the end of June, but as a part timer it is impossible to do a lot of training at work (I get little enough done as it is) and I already have to do this year's training when Nathan is asleep. Sorry this is turning into an extended moan. But the most bothersome symptoms of PTSD at the moment are:
feeling low and sad
sleeping badly
struggling to concentrate
being irritable and angry
having intrusive memories
just not managing to do anything in the evening except sit here.

So extra work in the evenings is the last thing i can use.

Sorry for moaning.Shall I start a new thread to make up for it?

LuckySalem · 03/04/2009 20:41

Yes MM I insist you make a new thread you naughty lady I do hope that you can sort this out but it sucks that your having to work in the evenings as well now. You'd think they'd have some wiggle room in these things wouldn't you?

Gingeme · 03/04/2009 20:47

Simpson I waited till they were dry at night. I used to put a bit of kitchen towel in the nappy and if it was dry in the morning for a week I left the nappy off and apart from one or two accidents they were dry. They were all roughly 3 years old by then hth.
Yes JKS the other two did sleep through Georges awakening thank goodness
Oh thats just pants madmouse as the others said can you appeal perhaps?
Lol Lat wouldn't like to hazzard a guess to that one .
I have a seperate account for the child benefit to go in. I use this for dinner money, shoes, school uniform etc the tv licence money comes out of it too. We have a joint acct too which basicaly everything else comes out of.
George has been mr velcro this afternoon. He woke from his nap a bit warm. Gave him Calpol. Doesn't seem to have affected his appetite though. A waffle, 2 fish cakes and a whole load of beans and 2 little star fromage frais for afters I always think of your dd when I give them waffles simpson
Weve got our first bbq of the year tommorrow afternoon. Lets hope the rain holds off xx
