Gingeme · 30/03/2009 12:04

Morning ladies.
A lay in here todat too. Not sure what time the boys woke up but I didn't hear them till 7.50 so why do I still feel tired?
Never hold wee mid flow. Can lead to alsorts of bladder and urine problems
Just took 3 black bags to charity shop. Took the bin and washing basket down to the shed. We can walk up the hall without banging into stuff now.
Someone asked how Mums flat hunting is going. Well its a total change of plan now. Dad is moving back to London. He is moving into a studio flat rented by The Housing association. Basicaly its housing for the over 60's but not warden run iyswim? Its ideal for him and just up the road from us and his brother. Mum is staying in the house in Kent till the housing market is a abit better then selling it and moving up here also. Phew!
Still trying to choose these photos to see which ones we want printed up. I want all of them !
Right better get some lunch DH off to work soon.

LaTrucha · 30/03/2009 12:09

I'd heard thT ABOUT HOLDING MID-FLOW TOO. i THINK YOU JUST DO IT TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLES Are.

Sorry for capitals!

simpson · 30/03/2009 17:47

Hi all

DD is in bed already She slept for a grand total of 20 mins all day, so was knackered!!

Bad mummy gave her some chips today as I went to KFC [ grin]

Molly has her MMR tomorrow at 10.30 then got toddler group in the afternoon if she is up for it....

JustKeepSwimming · 30/03/2009 18:46

H in bed early too.

mmm, i fancy KFC now!

will settle for the other half on sat night's takeaway (do you think it will be ok if i give it a good blast in the microwave?)

will try and catch up properly later, T just watching some Charlie & Lola before bed. we've been playing 'camping' which mostly involved lying on the floor pretending to sleep so think he's tired!

simpson · 30/03/2009 18:57

JKS - am sure takeaway will be fine if it is nice and hot from micro

I usually eat the left overs too!!

JustKeepSwimmingInBunnyPoo · 30/03/2009 19:06

Oh good! am looking forward to it now

T not looking too tired yet...mucked about for ages last night so am waiting a bit longer tonight....

simpson · 30/03/2009 19:17

LOL at your Easter name

Gingeme · 30/03/2009 19:48

Evening.
Just had a bad bed time. Usualt I'll sit George on my lap and he'll drink his bottle while we sit on Edwards bed and read the story. I chose a Peppa Pig one which makes noises so every time it did George looked round and tried to press the book. Got through it as quickly as possible and put them to bed. George wacked his lip on the headboard of Edwards bed and there was blood everywhere. Put cold flannel on it and settled him. Could hear his music thing on at full blast. Went in to find Edward in the cot woth his big floor pillow jumping up and down on it ! Took him out and told him off. Settled George again. George crying. Went in and found the legs of their little chair and a doctors case in the cot. Bought Edward out and settled George again. Gave him 5 mins to settle and told Edward off again. Put him back to bed and now dare I say it all is quiet. I guess it was only a matter of time.

simpson · 30/03/2009 19:55

Oh no gingeme just what you didn't want....

Am going to have both DCs in the same room end of April as MIL over for a week and she will have DD's room.

Dreading it TBH....

Gingeme · 30/03/2009 19:58

Oh no poor you I remember you saying. I think it was my choice of bok that did it actualy I'll definately learn by this mistake

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 30/03/2009 20:35

Was only temporary, prefer this one

G - bad luck, Dh has done similar with bad choice of book that winds them up more than sends them to sleep!

Simps - yuk re MIL visiting, maybe she'll cancel

sorry not going to get round to proper catch up as tired and off to bed soon, sorry!

Big news here....8 13

simpson · 30/03/2009 20:36

JKS - chocoalte much better than the other brown stuff!!

Well done on weight {grin]

nicky6 · 30/03/2009 21:36

Hi all

Had day off and went to see my mum and step dad great day as charlie managed to say nanny and grandad whilst we were there.

My pelvic floor is rubbish but more the bum side than the other and trust me as i suffer from ibs anyway that can lead to some pretty worrying situations at times particularly as now pregnant breach baby seems to keep kickking.

On the trying to tell them off front I do a very firm NO with pointing finger and try to hold her by her arms and look at me so that she can see that I am cross - occasionally makes her cry ( then I feel mean) but she is doing the naughty things less - biggest one is we have open gas fires with the pebbles in which are perfect pull yourself to standing height but not such great fun if the fire is on so am trying to make her not do it even when they are off as bad habits etc. I also try distraction but other things I want her to start getting the idea that they are naughty and I think she does as before she puts my mobie phone wire in her mouth she now at least pauses turns round to me and smiles before doing it - so now she knows its naughty but continues to do it anyway much to my constant heart attack if the wire isnt up high enough

Hope you are all well. 8st 13 oh how to depress me am back up to nearly 11 st 7 and 3 months to go!!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 30/03/2009 22:13

evening ladies,

Lily - that i so exciting. definitely IMO give it a go and see how it goes, def better to have had the opportunity. And well doen to a very talented H for being spotted.

Lucky - agree maybe the lady is having a hard time, not nice for her DS tho. I have to confess I had a meltdown with DS1 last night and ended up being a little harsher than i intended. He had been so naughty not listening all day and he is old enough to understand and ended up waking DS2 so sort of push him back down to sleep (DS1 that is)... immediately felt disgusting and saw his little face that was in shock and he was rubbing his eyes and trying not to cry so i ended up crying and he gave me a massive hug and said he was sorry and i shouldnt cry. it is very very rare that i snap but i felt like the scum of the earth and even cried when i told dh about it later on. in the most embarrassed way.

DS2 on the other hand i dont think he really understands and usuaally tone of voice ismore than enough and have introduced naughty chair/time out with DS1 now which works sporadically.

JKS love the new name and well done on the weight.

Having my central heating system replaced this week so DS2 going ILs tomorrow so i can go to the gym then get house ready as we have loads of stuff in front of everything.

Housemum · 30/03/2009 23:14

Wow how much goes on here - just checking in again to keep thread active. Matchsticks keeping eyes open as Amelie waking at 3 and taking an hour or so to settle. So not used to that - once the other 2 slept through that was it ecept when ill. Think it's her teeth, lots of dribbling, red cheeks. Have given half tsp of Medised tonight (bad mother, call SS now...)

Actually, I'm a totally crap mother if you believe some of the threads - Lily I felt for you on the nappy AIBU thread! DD3 has food in jars sometimes. I have fed her jars (whisper) in public!!! Hipp Organic jars!!! Has this woman no shame!!! She will grow up with a stack of ASBOs particularly as today she ate a couple of DD1's crisps. OK, so some things make me cringe but only the stuff that is genuinely not good for kids eg juice in bottles, dipping dummies in sugar, feeding just fatty junk food. But a sensible mix of home-made and convenience never did anyone any harm. I'm reading a childcare manual from the 70's at the moment and it's a wonder any of us (speaking for the older ones on the thread!) survived - have just got to weaning chapter where it's talking about adding sugar to formula, and a few babies having solids from 3 weeks!

Amelie has only 2 words in her vocabulary - a sort of hybrid Heyyo/Hiya with a wave, and an emphatic Nah with the hand pushing away. Usually said at every mealtime - she eats about four handfuls then gets fed up. And I have no chance getting a spoon near her mouth unless it's cereal or yoghurt. Fooled her for 3 mouthfuls with some cream cheese today, desperate for her to eat something other than toast and grapes for lunch!

Lilyloo · 31/03/2009 13:03

afternnon all

MM, you should know us all better than that ! Def no perfect mothers on here lol!! Don't beat yourself up about it and bless him comforting you!! Hope the central heating doesn't cause too much chaos!!

JKS well done Cannot imagine there will be much of you left if you get down to 8,7!!

Housemum M loves grapes here too! She would eat loads if i let her , i tend to cut them in half so she thinks she has more My mil says she still recoils that she was told an did give dp brother almost raw eggs

Gingeme , oh dear r/e bedtime! Was it the noise of the book ???

Simps lol at M having kfc are you going to start a suicide thread

Nicky , wow clever girl saying nanna and grandad. M doind about the same as Amelie , hiya , bye bye and Harry and Lily!

LaT do you think you turning a corner r/e sleep ?? We have stopped bf this last month (she self weaned ) and i have to say her sleeping is improving! Last night she went down at 7 , brief wake at 2ish just gave her dummy and slept until 7 am She has been improving for last couple of weeks and i feel much better for it!

Mmouse you ok ????

Hope everyone else ok having lazy aft today. Had manic day yesterday so just sorting things out for H birthday on Sat! He is having 8 friends round for pizza , cake and then we taking them to the pics to see monsters v aliens! Not sure whether to bother with party bags as was going to do bag with sweets , popcorn and drink for cinema. What do you think ???

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 31/03/2009 13:14

Flying visit to say NO to party bags!

& don't be silly to Mixedm

Ok here, tired, feeling 'off' today, cough, sore throat, swollen glands & slightly dodgy tummy too, fun.

Friends coming round in a bit, need to prepare myself for the tantrums...their dd not my boys!

Housemum · 31/03/2009 14:09

Lily if going to cinema no need for party bags, as they will have snacks there as you say.

Housemum · 31/03/2009 15:55

Yes! I've finally started a thread that hasn't fizzled out after half a dozen posts!! What do you think is an OK word for 5 year olds to use for farting?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 31/03/2009 16:05

is farting not an acceptable word? i just use farting tbh

thx JKS and Lily. Am over it now.

DS1 has just fallen asleep on the sofa after a heavy day at nursery, but am thinking 4pm is not the best time.

Our sleep routine is fully established now. They both go into bed and DS2 creates a bit of fusswhilst i am still in the room but as soon as i leave is fine. Very pleased as now almost always have the evening free after 7.30 for sure...

Gingeme · 31/03/2009 16:06

Link please housemum
No partybags needed lilyloo hope it goes well
Had a fun morning at playgroup came back with two tired boys. Put Edward to bed with his dadum and drink. 10 mins put George down. Ah peace had lunch and DH went to work. Got my book, feet up on the sofa lovely. 10 mins the bloody drilling started next door I went to my room and layed on my bed with my book. Drilling again queue George waking and crying . Got him up and had a cuddle on my bed a rare thing from a very non cuddly boy. More drilling queue Edward waking up its been a looooong afternoon.

Gingeme · 31/03/2009 16:07
