Sorry girls no personals really today as just about to go tidy the front room (Hurricane Aaliyah attacked)

Just to say we're gonna try to MOT the car and if not we're getting a Mondeo.

Lilyloo · 15/03/2009 21:04

Evening all have read through but too exhausted to reply much.

Where does the time go???? Just popping back on and will try better this time...

Am feeling smug as downstairs is (relatively) tidy and I actually mowed the lawn today. DD took kids to Sainsburys in the bike trailer (the youngest 2 obviously, couldn't imagine a teen in there!) so had a bit of peace and quiet/

Amelie toddling along well now, this week she's actually walking more than she crawls, so won't be long before we're shoe-shopping too. She's still in her cruisers as her feet are only 3.5 and a lot of the Clarks styles start at 4. Will look at Start Rite as they are usually v cute (but v expensive)

Sold a load of baby stuff at the NCT sale last week - definitely no more for us!

AngeChica · 15/03/2009 21:23

Hope everyone is OK. People and their LOs up and down it seems.

Not keen on these 4 day weeks. I also have 2 meetings and a preview party to do with these party plan book selling I'm going to do. The attractive thing is I can make extra cash in evenings without having to pay for childcare!

Have taken a flexi day on Tues so I can spend the day spring cleaning while DS goes to CM - I've no chance of reducing the chaos otherwise, DH and I took turns to do bits over the weekend but DS is just too demanding.

Luckily DS's sleep has improved of late. He wakes early but didn't wake in the night at all for the last 7 days We make sure his days are nice and busy. We go out with the dog and plonk DS in the middle of the football field so he can run around like a mad thing

He is climbing now and can get up things but has no sense to get down safely so my heart is in my mouth half the time. Am I being a bit too PFB?? I have a paranoia about him falling down stairs even tho we have a stairgate.

In spite of better sleep he seems to be having a renewed phase of separation anxiety and often has a shit fit if I leave his sight. Is anyone else's LO this bad? Thankfully he's fine when we go to CMs but she is a very "motherly" type and he is the same with her when she takes him to toddlers etc.

Oh well realy for the next week's onslaught.

Gingeme · 16/03/2009 10:14

LaT forgive me please? It was a stupid question.
Hi housemum. Yey Amelie time to start your daughters love of shoes
Ange scary isn't it when they climb? George loves to climb on eveything and yes it can be very scary.
Well we were supposed to be putting the cot into the big boys room today but George woke at 5am and didn't realy go back to sleep and I'm not having 3 boys up at 5 Going to see how the next few nights go and see what we can do.
Right off to do some housework after the busy weekend with all the boys.
Enjoy the sunshine ladies

simpson · 16/03/2009 12:06

Hi all

How is everyone today?

LaT - any sign of AF yet? If still no sign in a couple of days might be worth going back to docs...

Madmouse - hope you and Nathan feeling better...

Gingeme - Are we still up for 23rd??

Hi to everyone else..

DD having a high maintenance day again

LaTrucha · 16/03/2009 15:26

No, it wasn't Gingeme - it did actually make me think about it. TBH, the thing that is getting me down the most is MIL being in a constantly bad mood. At least DH and I agree on it. We've even thought about coming home early, which we might and we've cancelled Sabela's baptism today (which we waited for coming here to do) as she's always complaining about how much she has to do. Natch, we haven't told her the reason! TBH, even if we were all angels, she'd find something to complain about, she's in that sort of mood. Very uncomfortable being in someone else's house under the circumstances. And I hate having someone cooking and cleaning for me, and asking me why I'm doing, or not doing, this or that. I'm not a teenager but I'm beginning to sympathise with them a lot! It's not that she doesn't want us here: I think she is clinically depressed. She's not even looking forward to her daughter's wedding!

Simpson - hope you're surviving the worst! We've got one here too! No sign of AF, no. Wish it woulkd hurry up. Think my hormones are all akimbo!

Lilyloo- any less tired today? Hope so!

Hi housemum - any recent pics of Amelie?

Ange - Sabela's still very clingy but I'm not sure if it the circumstances still. She's got no real area to play on her own so she's in our arms most of the time of necessity.

Angechica -

Gingeme · 16/03/2009 15:58

Yes Simpson definately up for 23rd
LaT I kind of know where youe coming from. Ex mil used to do similur when we lived with her for a while. She never used to actualy speak directly to me she used to talk through ex p I worked in the same place as her for a while so wore the same uniform and they had to be washed every day and she would say to ex ' has gingeme got any washing she wants doing?' and I was sitting next to him stuff like that. I never knew what hate was till I met her
Anyway just had to do some emergancy baby sitting for my RL friend. Her baby was having her nap and her other daughter had been taken ill at scholl so she had to collect her. She has a lovely colli dog and he sat with me the whole time he is such a sweety.
Well back to just 3 boys again now. ss just gone home. Ah back to normal again.

JustKeepSwimming · 16/03/2009 20:10

right well have got left behind a bit after not posting for a couple of days, will try and catch up!

Madmouse - hope N is feeling better and you are too. if it helps, i think we all feel like that sometimes..probably doesn't!
Sure it is teething, once they're out and it's calmed down you'll forget
You could be right about H, think his cold is easing now.
He slept through last night so less cold & no sleeping bag so who knows which one (or something else!) solved it.
Have also offered him water last thing, after milk.

G - hope George settles again with sleep so you can move him soon! he probably reads yours posts, lol
sorry you lost one baby how far gone were you? a friend of my colleague has 8 and she's only 27 2 sets of twins. plenty more years left in her yet, pmsl!!
How did David do with no stabilisers?
I am happy as have managed to get a 2nd hand balance bike off eBay for T's birthday. only cost me 54 and i got 90 for selling the Svan highchair. lots more money to keep spending, yey! (have already got too much for his birthday and it's not till May!)

Ange - I had that re calpol night at asda (and she told me it will probably rise to 12!) but dh got some no questions asked at our local chemist....
no you're not being pfb, just human!

LaT - all sounds v stressful for you & dh & S atm of no +ve and no af anytime soon i would guess that the stress is putting off af.

Lily - well done on finishing the decorating! how are things sleep-wise???

Housemum - how are your 2 younger ones in the trailer? we've only tried both the boys once and they both screamed not sure it was such a great investment now.... the shoes we got are Clarks cruisers, a ripoff really but wanted something to put on his feet for going in the garden. and they are v cute
I do look forward to being able to get rid of baby stuff (if anyone will buy it once we've finished with it!) and not just keeping everything.

Simps - how is dd today?

We had a fab day yesterday in the garden, picnic lunch and all T loved it. H wasn't so bothered as long as had food he was fine. DH & T cut the grass, i read my book
Work today (T up at 5.30, yawn) which was fine, got most stuff done. boys knackered once we got home, poor H doesn't sleep much at nursery so is zonked by 5pm.
Hi and sorry if i've missed you out

Lilyloo · 16/03/2009 20:10

Evening all!!
Managed to catch up with all normal housework today phew!!
Funny but being away from here more and the sunshine means i get things done

LaT oh dear sounds tough. What you going to do about christening ?

Housemum i know time really does fly! I love the cruiser shoes , nearly thought i wouldn't be able to get M a pair due to her big feet.

Ange i know what you mean they are really heart in your mouth time. The near misses are more plentiful than i care to admit! You sound really busy. Can you cut work hours down when you build up books ?

Gingeme i having same dilemma with M! The room ready but her sleep still so hit and miss! George had been doing really well to hadn't he!

Simps you ok ??? You sound really down lately. Can't help having a tough time with dd when ds is playing up too!!

Evening to everyone else ??
Guess the sunshine keeping everyone busy!

Any ideas for ds fancy dress day at school ? He nees a garden themed outfit ???

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 16/03/2009 20:13

all in green = blade of grass?

brown trousers & green top = tree?

too basic??

LaTrucha · 16/03/2009 20:14

DH and I both had a bit of a freak out today, fortunately not an angry one and fortunately outside. Basically, leaving in May is a serious option. DH spoke to mum and she says just ignore her, she's peed off at other things. We know waht they are and sympathise, but it doesn't mean you can go around snapping at ohters all the time.

Lily - Have no idea about the christening. She might have to be a Quaker like me (ish)!

JKS - sounds liek a lovely day.

Glad you've all got sunshine too!

simpson · 16/03/2009 20:21

LaT - I was brought up Quaker too!! My 2 bros went to a Quaker school in Reading.

Lilyloo - Am okish, have been feeling a bit down lately but mentally trying to shake myself out of it... Went for a nice walk this evening without Dcs which helped!!

Well done on the decorating!!

Gingeme - glad 23rd is on...still not sure weather I am bringing DD yet...

JKS - T will be 3 won't he?? J got balance bike for his 3rd birthday and he loves it. For weeks after his birthday it was propped up in his room at night so he could still see it

I warn you though, they go really fast!!

Am LOLing at your fancy dress ideas...very good!! I am pants at that sort of thing!!

Lilyloo · 16/03/2009 21:00

JKS i completely agree with your 'simple' ideas ! However think H expecting me to coe up with wonder outfit

Simps you really don't seem yourself at all! Is it just normal dc stuff ??

LaT will dh be finished with his writing then ??

Oh and why has MMama not been back to tell us about her workout ?????

OP posts:
simpson · 16/03/2009 21:07

Lilyloo - this is when we miss woolworths as they were always good for fancy dress!!

Things ok and yes is just general DC stuff really all good with DH ATM

LaT - think you have the patience of a saint to put up with MIL for as long as you have BTW.

Gingeme · 16/03/2009 21:32

eVENING LADIES [SMILE]
Lillyloo try Ebay for fancy dress stuff. I got a Superman outfit, a pirate outfit and a 4arms (Ben10 charecter) all about half shop price. Yeah George was doing well re sleeping but he decided to cut another tooth and get all snotty again so I'm going to give it a bit longer.
JKS I was about 8 weeks when I lost my baby but hey look at the smashers I have got eh ? David hasn't tried without stabilisers yet. We will probably go to the park after school and have a try tommorrow.
We are going to take Edward to the docs Thursday. We want to find out why he is constantly dribbling! From morning to night he is soaked. I counted his teeth tonight when I brushed them and he has all 20 so I don't think its down to that. I will let you know.

Housemum · 16/03/2009 21:57

LaT - I'll try to stick some pics on when I get around to it! Or I could just wait till M&S put some more on their website

Lily - garden theme - a scarecrow? Or yellow top, black stripes (sew on strips or use fabric paint) with black trousers - a bee or wasp? Or could just cover him in slime and call him a slug...

JKS - mine were fine in the trailer, but only just fit and won't after this summer! DD2 is a big 5 (more like nearly 7 than nearly 6) so I think Amelie had no choice but to stay put. I haven't tried using it yet, I just like watching DH exhaust himself riding uphill to our house. Heehee!

LuckySalem · 16/03/2009 22:23

Hey everyone.

Sorry for not doing personals and being all me, me me again but I just can't keep up today I've been run off my feet.
Have done some tidying and spent the day at my mums. DD isn't well I think its actually teeth FINALLY. She's had a really bad nappy this morning (chucked in the sink bad) and been grumbling most of the day.

Good news is Passport has arrived Also she's now going to bed without the need for a bottle. She just has a cup of warm milk before bed and settles herself I'm so pleased about that.

Oh I powerwashed my yard yesterday and it looks BRAND NEW. Just wish I had the money to knock out the crappy concrete that was laid god knows when and replace it as its falling apart (as I proved when I powerwashed loads of holes into it )

Anyways - reading through it seems as though you're all ok and I really do hope you are. Only Madmouse is missing again - hope she's ok.

LuckySalem · 16/03/2009 22:32

Just wanted to ask you all a quick question as well - Sorry I know really selfish today.

Have any of you tried those trailers that you attach to bikes? Mum and dad are thinking of buying me one as I expressed some interest in one of those seats that you put on the bike.
I personally think they look abit dangerous but am willing to be persuaded otherwise if you think so.

Housemum · 17/03/2009 00:14

Kids are supposed to be over 18mths to go in trailer - I wouldn't put DD3 in without DD2 as well, even over that age, as I'd be constantly worried that she'd worked out how to escape!!. I don't like them on roads but where we live we can go on cycle paths or quiet roads to Sainsburys and the swings. But need to go the long way round sometimes as a lot of cycle paths have those gate things to negotiate to stop people driving down them - fine with a bike but not with a trailer as well. Grrrr.

LuckySalem · 17/03/2009 00:52

Ahh I didn't know that. Thanks HM am sticking with my original thought then.

JustKeepSwimming · 17/03/2009 06:24

Morning
Up at 5.40 with T. no night-time disturbances from them thank god but i woke at 4 from a bad dream - can't remember it now...

the day before i dreamt about being pg again and having bad spd, the baby came out but not the placenta & i had to walk to a different hospital...after popping into the pub to see dh and show him the baby
weirdly though i ache since then where my spd used to hurt! (right in the middle front of my pubic bone). strange.....

Lily - do you have an asda nearby? they have cheapish dressing up stuff.
Maybe Mixedm is knackered, lol

LaT - sorry you and dh are struggling maybe MIL knowing that will sort her out?

Simpson - glad dh is ok. hope you feel more on the up soon.
Yes T will be 3. think he will love the bike! bit worried about the fast bit....does J wear a helmet when he's on it?

G - how sad remember now you saying things that your mum said about it (was your mum i think?)
how are your parents getting on?
could E have an infected saliva gland?
good luck at the park!

Housemum - would love to see some more M&S pics, they are always gorgeous!
are you still doing many photo shoots with A?
really my 2 should fit fine then! but H was tired the time we tried so not good timing. we have a seat on the back too. so one can go in each....once i've got a bike. need one soon, have been looking on eBay but no luck so far.

Lucky - yey re passport!!! i jetwashed the patio last year and loved seeing it all clean. but yes i washed some bits of mortar out too! they don't look that bad this year. want to finish the driveway this year.
i fancy hiring myself out actually as i love doing it

Madmouse - u ok?

Happy St Patricks Day to all
(i'm Irish btw)

simpson · 17/03/2009 08:57

Morning all

A good night had here

Molly is refusing to feed herself her bottle in the morning and keeps dropping it then screaming for it back. Grrr...Think its because she likes to see me run over to give it back

So this morning have resorted to giving it to her on floor instead of highchair then she can drop it and pick it up as many times as she wants

JKS - J dorsn't have a helmet though maybe he should...I don't let him ride it downhill though as I am afraid he wouldn't be able to stop!!

Mixed mama - where are you?

Madmouse - How are you today?

Lilyloo - when are you swapping rooms for Dcs?

Gingeme - Hope George was ok last night...

LaT - Hope MIL behaving...When will you go back to England if you go earlier?

Lucky - am thinking of getting seat for back of bike too...

Housemum - want to see pics!!

madmouse · 17/03/2009 09:12

Morning all

What a night

Had a really difficult day yesterday - anxiety issues getting out of hand now . Have made an appointment with the GP for next week and have contacted the Birth Trauma Association for advice too.

So last night I thought I have an early night 10pm took two paracetamol as I felt like I was coming down with something. As soon as I came upstairs Nathan woke crying and kept that up for two hours. Inconsolable. He had a big dose of ibuprofen before bed and we gave him a small dose of calpol on top but to no avail! . In the end at 12.15 having tried everything I went downstairs and fetched him a righ teabiscuit reasoning either he could be hungry if he is feeling better or he needs something to gnaw for his teeth. Cue first dh and then me sitting with smiling eating baby on our lap at way past midnight!! After the biscuit he went to bed and slept with one short interruption until 8.15.

Unlike me. as soon as I got into bed i got a bad case of the shivers Soooo cold but dh said I was warm. Put extra clothes on fgs. Did manage to sleep and this morning not feeling too bad. Swollen lymph glands in my neck and a slight temperature and some muscle ache. Just what I needed. At least Nathas eaten some breakfast and is currently self feeding himself milk from his tippee cup.

Sorry for the rant. Will catch up later.

Simpson thank you, also for the chat last night

Gingeme · 17/03/2009 11:48

madmouse. Sounds like you need a holiday.
Yes JKS it was my Mum who suggested the baby I lost 'would have been my girl'
Well my Dad went home on Sunday and I think they are talking things over so will wait for a phone call about meeting up with my sister and them soon.
Not sure about the infected gland as I checked his mouth out last night as I said and all seemed well. No redness or anything untoward. My friend suggested he drink through a straw to strengthen his cheek muscles. Worth a try I guess.
Simpson George woke about midnight coughing sounding very dry. I gave him a bottle of milk witha spoon of Medised in. He slept till 7.15 . Good idea about the bottle. George drops things on purpose. We are wise to him though.

Mixedmamma heloooooooooooo!!!
