FFS DS having huge tantrum because I came down the stairs first so he is not the winner

He is driving me up the wall, currently kicking kitchen door really hard...

DD is teething so I cannot leave her side, miss velcro baby today.

Going to be a loooong day methinks...

Madmouse - will chat to you anytime

Also got nasty burn on finger this morning from toaster, not my day!!

LaTrucha · 17/03/2009 14:21

This is going to be random as I'm bf, with DH and being kicked!

Madmouse - ugh. that's all I can say.

Lucky - you could take that concrete up firly easily - or DH could. We did it last year, remember. We now have lawn! Will go into more detail if you're interested.

Glad JKS and Simpson having good nights.

MIL looked better today until DH woke up. She has been ordering him around and telling him he works too much since then . He's sitting looking defeated now. She just wants everything exactly her own way. It's wearing.

Got to go - bf over!

LuckySalem · 17/03/2009 21:29

Hi all,

MM - I dont know what else to say but {{hugs}} you know where I am if you need me and I hope you feel better soon.

LaT - You'r MIL does sound like a nightmare. I hope you manage to get along for the rest of your time there. Thanks for the tips about replacing the concrete. Thing is - we're not sure whether it will take value off the house as we use the backyard as a "carpark"

Well we went to a beach type swimming pool today (has a sloped entrance rather than a stepped) and it was a total hit.
I've not been swimming since she started walking so I don't know if it was the pool or the walking but she LOVED it.

They put the wave machine on and she stood in the shallowest part (barely over her feet) and laughed everytime the "wave" got her
We also went down the HUGE slide a couple of times again with her giggling away.

The best thing though was that they have a small area that's kinda cordoned off from the rest - protected from the rest by a medium slide (not for adults ) and she played in there for about an hour, falling over and getting back up and only clung to me once when she had to be fished out the water as she didn't come up quick enough for the worrier in me. I'm pretty sure it was cos I was a little panicked though.

I really should get her some armbands or something as I think she would be better on her own in them and I'd stop panicking as much too.

Hope everyone is ok, sorry if I've missed you out but I am trying to get better.

Lilyloo · 17/03/2009 21:51

Evening all

MM sorry you having such a tough time!!

Simps hope the day didn't turn out too badly , it is really hard dealing with both of them when they are playing up together. Hope the finger not too bad!
H and L have swapped. L in the top bunk in her room and dp has gone in bottom tonight! not really how i had planned it tbh!

Lucky i love powerwashing too! but i broke ours last year! Our conservatory really needs cleaning too. The swimming baths sounds great fun!

JKS HAPPY SAINT PATS DAY !!

Gingeme wonder what that is with Edward. How old is he ?

Housemum how much modelling doe Amelie do now ?

Still on decorating frenzy here Have got loads of wallpaper swatches stuck on my front room wall undecided. Have never done wallpaper before but fancy change.
DS wants to go as bumble bee. Now got to plan how to do it! Just ordered some face paints and bumble bee headband with googly balls on from ebay!
Had awful night with M again. Can't see her being able to go in with L anytime soon!!
Off to bed now got toddler group tom!

Lily - Shame your not closer, I used to face paint for the ferry crossing between Holyhead and Dun Laoghaire (just had to look that spelling up ) was really good when the 3 months were up.

LuckySalem · 17/03/2009 22:29

I may be about to be thrown off MN but I couldn't ignore anymore

mixedmamameansbusiness · 17/03/2009 23:20

Hi All,

Sorry been gyming it and had an issue with work over taking a day off cos DS was sick (I mean vommitting) and wouldnt have made it to MIL without another bout. Apparently they will need to consider if they can deal with me as and I quote the first thing said to me on Monday morning was "your children are becominga problem". I see their point as due to CP i have had 8 working days off in a small period of time, but equally DC have been ill outside of these times and I have sent them to MIL and not taken time off. The way it was approached just made me so I know they are running a business but honestly if the ILs had all had CP I wouldnt have taken any time off.

To top it off... BIL is being a right PITA again. SIL called tonight to tell DH that apparently he has bought the new flat for her and her husband and child and that tonight he told them that he had to move in there as DH was kicking him out. This is the sole reason I am up at this hour as I cannot sleep. FUMING. DH has said he will talk to BIL but we had started making plans for decorating the boys new bigger than a shoe box room and were looking forward to starting our family life. I know DH was too... BIL has started eating the last bread and eggs etc regularly and whilst I normally wouldnt care t drives me round the bend since we buy food based on how much we need to feed the four of us and the boys have toast with their cereal in the mornings... so petty I know, btu just cannot believe the moving out plan may be falling thru and DH is now goign to have all his family on his back about it. What I wonder is what kind of family dont talk so that they know this kind of thing in the first place. I actually cannot sleep thru fury.

Sorry began all me me me as usual.

Madmouse - hope you are getting the support you need right no, hope you will be feeling better soon. Thinking of you.

Simps - we are having tantrum probs with DS2 whenever we are out h just screams and screams and screams. Nothing seems to placate him and there doesnt seem to be much clear reason for it. Mostly he seems to just want to be held but when we are walking somewhere he needs to be int he pushchair. Am at a loss.

LaT- ahhh the MIL issues... difficut. Hope it all pans out well for everyone involved.

Lucky - had loads to say about all the stuff you posted but has all gone out of my head so sure it wasnt very interesting. Did find that Godwins law thing interesting... never knew that.

Everyone big his and sorry if i have not said anything in reply... thanx for all wondering where i have gone.

Didnt have my training as the trainers father passed away but went to the gym but DS2 wasnt enamoured with the creche so came out early. Have been going fairly frequently and doing running and lots of wlking...unfort not eating so good so need to be a bit better with that.

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 06:51

((hugs)) and supportive pats on the back to everyone who needs them.

tbh, i felt like legging it this morning, to somewhere far away, quiet & peaceful - a padded cell would be comfy i think

T up at midnight - no reason
me up at 4.55 - sodding birds, grr
both boys up at 5.40 (H with a massive nasty poo)

and DH last night saying let's go out for dinner when i get back wed night - at 9.30, yeah right.
he has no idea.
i need to be in bed and asleep by 9.30 not organising the babysitter to come round late and then eat (by the time it arrives at the table) at 9.45.....

sorry, rant over.....

and now that H has woken too early for him, he will crash out before 9 when i will have to wake him up again to take T to pre-sch. hate waking him up. wish i had a handy mother/mil to come and sit in the house while i drop T off.....

sorry, off for a cup of tea and some happy pills

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 06:52

oh and can someone please tell me which way the clocks are going, is it this weekend??

when i wake at 5am on sun morning, will it be 4am or 6am?

madmouse · 18/03/2009 07:03

morning JKS sorry for the rubbish night - again

clocks, hmm, let me count on my fingers. it needs to be lighter in the evening so 7pm will become 6pm, meaning that 6am will become 5am

ooops

wish i had not done it now

sorry!

you so did not need that

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 07:42

b*llocks!

madmouse · 18/03/2009 08:51

oh dear

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 08:54

I dunno madmouse - this site seems to think we'll go to 2am when its 1am?

simpson · 18/03/2009 09:42

Hi all

JKS - I got woken up by sodding birds at 5am too

DD was up at 4am, teething poor thing so nurofened up etc...

Then started the day at 8am, which isn't too bad I suppose....

Mixed mama - hope DH stands firm. MY MIL is coming over for a visit end of April and I am dreading it already.

Madmouse - how are you today?

LaT - hope you are ok?

Lucky - don't blame you for wading in, some comments were getting a bit Am with DH as his attitude to dogs has made DS fear them.

Lilyloo - hope M behaved herself last night. Well done on the decorating..

Gingeme - Hope Edward a bit better today. Has he been to docs?

DD has learnt to do this awful shrieking, high pitched etc...driving me up the wall.

Think the reason DS was so bad yesterday was the previous evening he had played outside with the neighbours little boy for 45mins when we got back from school. So may have to put a stop to that although I know I will feel bad when the other kids are out there in the sunshine.

Maybe just let him play on Fridays. All the other kids are 5/6 so DS is the youngest by quite a bit...

madmouse · 18/03/2009 09:42

confused now

very

good news is according to the same site it is not until next week

madmouse · 18/03/2009 11:54

yes, clocks go forward. 5am will become 6am. I had the right idea but the wrong reasoning. sorry JKS for making your morning worse

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 14:04

no probs madmouse, was only kidding!

though i am happy that it will be later. will try and remember that it's NOT this weekend!

JustKeepSwimming · 18/03/2009 14:08

hey simps - hope both dcs happier today?

ds2 has his clingy screamy moments which drive me crazy, so you have my sympathies as dd sounds worse than that!

do you ever think 'oh no, x can't do that, far too difficult for them' then turn your back and they do it?

left H's mini milk on the table in front of him while i did something else, turn round and he's holding it properly eating it properly

i've been sat there like a mug holding for him.......

simpson · 18/03/2009 14:45

JKS - LOL at H

DD seems to be refusing to hold her bottle ATM and want me to do it lazy madam!!

Yep DD back to normal whingey self!! Had 2 wks when she was fine but seems to have reverted back

Although TBH think its DS that winds her up and wants what ever she has. Although DS been better today. Don't know if its because I won't panda to it or because he didn't play out yesterday when back from school....

Molly just done the most enormous burp I thought she had been sick

madmouse · 18/03/2009 14:57

Bless

Feeling quite down today. But when I got back from work dh and ds were just coming from the shops across the road. I asked what they had been up to and dh refused to say at first. then he said he had tried to buy me a red rose to say he loves me

Was very irritable last night and decided to shout at him in my usual reasonable mood pointing out to him that the only time i get for myself is when Nathan is in bed and I have tidied up the mess. I think he got the hint. Plus he saw the email that i wrote to the Birth Trauma Association and it made him cry bless. So now he feels like a bad husband, which he is not.

Thought he was really sweet.

Gingeme · 18/03/2009 15:49

Afternoon ladies.
JKS
remeber the clocks as spring forward and fall back Sorry the boys are being so pants at sleeping again as for DH they just don't get it do they?
I have discovered another tooth in Georges mouth. Bottom right canine thats 13 now. Explains his couple of disturbed nights. Last night he was awake from 4am-5am.
Edward off to the docs tommorrow Simpson. I just hope they can help his dribbling. I have cought some fleece back bibs off Ebay which a friend recomended. They look more like bandanas and are realy cool designs. He refuses to keep an ordinary bib on
Mixedmamma you amaze me with all your energy. I would love to go go to a gym or something but I would probably fall asleep on the tread mill
We went shopping this afternoon at Tesco and tried to buy a bottle of Medised. They wouldn't sell it to us as the age was 4 years and up. They said this will soon change to 6 years bloody annoying if you ask me. I asked if it wwas the same for Calpol night time. Yep
We have our family portrait tomm at 4pm. Can't wait

simpson · 18/03/2009 16:01

Madmouse - bless your DH

When is your appt with GP?

Gingeme - think tooth no.2 is on its way which may be why DD is a velcro baby today.

She has discovered kitchen cupboards and keeps emptying them. She loves anything metal that makes a load noise!!

LaT - how are you today??

Gingeme · 18/03/2009 19:30

Ah yes Simpson that is likely then. They always seem more clingy when they are teething.
Poor George hasn't had a very good afternoon. The flat opposite, as in adjoining on to our flat not opposite the landing iyswim, have been doing some what sounds like ripping out. Kitchen me thinks. Every time the drill went he jumped out of his skin and cried and cried DH took him for a little drive for a bit and I took him to pick David up to get him out the flat. Fortuately it all stopped about 4.
Oh and I also forgot to mention George is now into 18-24 month clothes . I have passed most of his 12-18 to my friends baby boy. Just can't believe it.
I went to Clown Town with my RL friend this morning. She has a little girl of 18 months and had ivf to get pregnant after many tries to concieve naturaly. Anyway she was saying she would like another one and is going to start trying in the summer. We got onto the subject of surrogate mothers and could we do it? I said I might if it was my sister or a close friend. She asked if I would consider doing it for her I wasn't sure what to answer realy. Just said I'd think about it.
Would any of you do it?

LuckySalem · 18/03/2009 19:45

I think I may do it but not until I've had all my children. Although I do think it's a really hard question.

simpson · 18/03/2009 19:48

Gingeme - don't think I could be so selfless as to be a surrogate

After DCs bath this evening I was making DD laugh and had a quick look in her mouth and there are 3 other teeth very nearly through No wonder she hasn't been herself!!

They are all at the top though, so she will have the front 4 upper teeth and no lower ones

DD has also decided she wants to feed herself with a fork When she was having tea she suddenly started screaming and pointing and I twigged she wanted to do the same as DS. I have to put food on fork then she puts it in mouth with one hand and the other hand is shovelling food in too

But major news of the day is DD is trying to stand She is nowhere near doing it yet, she is in crawling position then gets onto toes with bum sticking out and tries to push up with her hands iyswim. She is practicing loads and at least it keeps her occupied!!
