Gingeme · 11/03/2009 11:41

that is just awful.

JustKeepSwimming · 11/03/2009 11:52

I know

was thinking about leaving flowers but i hate seeing them all piled up by the side of the road.
anyway, don't really want to introduce the boys to the concept just yet....

It's 'extra' awful because so preventable. apparently it's a new kind of 'joy ride' to drive really fast at people then brake at the last minute 'joy'???
Whatever he was doing the driver was being an idiot and now has this to live with for the rest of his life.

When it's your local area i think you hear more 'tidbits' about a person's life so they become more real to you.
she was head girl at the primary school my orchestra rehearses at for eg. we were looking at her name on the board last night

must take a deep breath and go and fetch T from pre-school. will get out in the garden after lunch - think the sunshine will help

simpson · 11/03/2009 12:04

JKS - how tragic

LaTrucha · 11/03/2009 18:17
Sad
JustKeepSwimming · 11/03/2009 18:26

Right, have given myself a good shake & talking to and whilst i'm sad about the girl dying i'm sorry to have brought the thread down today - so to brighten us up will tell you a 'something funny that Tom said today' story

He's v imaginative and always off on some story or other.
Says Pays (his made up name for his beloved monkey) is lost down a hole.
OK, i say, we best rescue him.
I'm going to drive in my car.
But you can't drive your car down a hole, you might get stuck in the mud.
It's OK Mummy, it's a clean hole

I thought it was cute anyway
then we had to get fishing rods to fish him out, fill the hole with rocks & mud so no-one else could fall in and nail a lid on top....

I never know what we'll be talking about next

mixedmamameansbusiness · 11/03/2009 19:41

JKS hilarious. They do say the funniest things dont they.

Lilyloo · 11/03/2009 19:47

JKS how poor girl

My lego arrived today super fast so thats H birthday sorted!

Have finsihed H room and moved everything from the wardrobes around.

On to L room tom, the sooner the better as M had bad night and L woke H up at 5

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 11/03/2009 19:47

They do!

He told me today to 'don't panic Mummy' as he had something or other in his 'airship' (sportacus-inspired)...
Used to be 'don't worry' we moved on, lol

Boys in bed (after lots of running around by T, but ignored him and i think he's in bed now) and DH on way home. but he won't be back until 8.45 at the earliest. so i said i would eat first and now he's huffing but i don't want to wait that long to eat...

anyway, 9,2 on Wii tonight, yey

madmouse · 11/03/2009 19:48

JKS that is so funny, just read it to dh too

Slowly finding my sanity again. Nathan seems to have turned a corner. His physio too says his cough sounds nice and lose so the infection seems to be clearing. He has not eaten much but more that the last few days and with more gusto. He was so tired that he cried until i put him in his cot. he did not want to be held, just sleep, which I guess is good.

So I am kind of back now, sorry when Nathan is ill I still freak out and get lots of painful memories. but i get bored with myself at times like that and don't want to write about it again, but then i can't think of anything else

very tired though.

LaT how are you?

JustKeepSwimming · 11/03/2009 19:48

wow Lily - that is fast!
well done on finishing one room, so is he sleeping in there tonight? where's L sleeping then?

Lilyloo · 11/03/2009 20:15

In there with him on put me up bed!! She not happy to be sleeping in a blue room bit tough as both rooms blue now

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 11/03/2009 21:21

LOL Lily

Another thing to cheer you up/well distract you at the least:

there's a guy a few doors down who is always washing various cars (not sure how many are his/whether he has other people's, only space for 2 on his drive).
the other day we walked past and he was hoovering the parcel shelf got T asking all sorts of questions about what he was doing!
yesterday, i went to get T from pre-school and he was jet washing, OK i thought, car washing, again...not quite, he was jet washing the inside of the rear window/door.

is he weird or what?

he really is always washing some car or other. maybe he has OCD.....

Gingeme · 11/03/2009 21:56

Was just about to suggest OCD. Where does he live? We'll bring our car round
Wow lillyloo you work fast. I hate that though when youve done a room up and it makes the rest of the place look shabby. I think we need to do a lick of paint in the boys room. DH put new book shelves up a little while ago and the place where the other were is a totaly different blue
JKS your little fella is so clever
Madmouse so glad Nathan is on the mend and you are feeling a bit happier now
Had the car serviced today. Had a bit more done to it than we thought had to be done. Ah well can't be doing without the car so needs be.
Got my pamper day tomm. Ive been trying on bras tonight, ss and DH at the pub, taking my holdy in knickers with me too. Bit apprehensive about it all and excited to. Shame I just going to come home after and be a Mum. Need somewhere glam to go onto
Ah well off to bed soon.
Have a good night all xxx

madmouse · 11/03/2009 22:37

I think our car would cure him for good

I don't understand people who wash cars. When ours gets too bad we take it to the lovely Kurdish lads up the road who get it all shiny and polished again for a fiver.

madmouse · 12/03/2009 09:05

JKS did dh get up with the boys? Rare for me to make it in before you, hope you had a good night

Nathan slept well (7.15-8 with two little squeaks in the evening)and has just eaten one weetabix with fruit and is now doing unspeakable things to a banana so i am a much happier mummy

Lucky where are you are you ok?

Have laryngitis bah, getting better though but still croaky and sore . Worst thing is it makes me snore like a navvy so spent most the night in the spare room again we both hate to be apart but dh needs some sleep!

Gingeme · 12/03/2009 10:24

Poor you Madmouse. Are you on anti robotics?
George sle[t from 7.30- 5.45 had a bottle then slept a bit more till about 7.
I'm off for my pamper day soon. Bit nervous to be honest. Have squashed 4 outfits in to a small pull along case and my one and only pair of heels.
DH gest to look after the kiddys till I get back
Well I hope you are all well.
Will pop by later.

JustKeepSwimming · 12/03/2009 11:39

Yes DH got up with H in the night (again) & then with T at 5.15 &
wish he would sleep later regularly....

Madm - glad N getting better, hope you do too soon.

G - enjoy the day agree bit of a bump back to earth when you get home!

friend at playgroup offered to come round & bring shepherd's pie with her for the kids tea, fab
she knows it's hard for me to get out with H sleeping all the time so we've kind of agreed to come here for now, then when he (hopefully) drops a nap we can go to hers more, when her baby should be sleeping more in a routine.
(fingers crossed anyway)

can't believe i'm wishing H would drop some sleeps but really some days it's ridiculous and we can't go anywhere!
esp with weather getting nicer would be fun to go to farms/picnics/etc. without H crashing after half an hour!

right, must get lunch sorted and then H can go to bed (has been nearly asleep at playgroup already).

LaTrucha · 12/03/2009 19:55

Hello Ladies,

Sorry I'm not about much at the moment. I usually mumsnet in nap time but now I'm frequently out at my course while she's napping so am missing you all!

JKS - lovely stories! And always nice when you can come to an arrangement like that with a friend

Lilyloo - Glad the lego arrived. When is DSs birthday again? Well done for doing the room.

Simpson - Quiet today. You ok?

Gingeme - I want to know all about your pamper day so I can dreeeaaaammmmm. Hope you had fun.

Madmouse - sorry about Laryingitis. You sound like you could do with a good holida, TBH. Any chance?

Sabela stood for 15 secinds twice today. It was incredible to watch. Even though everyone does it, it's a really heartstopping thing, I think. We're having lots of fun now. I'm really enjoying it now she can communicate more. She's added a nod to her shake so she can now say yes and no!

Definitve news on the test tomorrow. Had a blood test today. I've been feeling really tired, dizzy and at times nauseous so if I'm really not in the end I'll be amazed and i want to knwo what is wrong with me. Still no AF too....

LaTrucha · 12/03/2009 20:09

Oh1 and Sabela has just cut her fourth molar (so no sleep tonight, then). 10 teeth now!

Lilyloo · 12/03/2009 20:20

LaT surely you must be ? H birthday 4th April so fab timing!

Mmouse poor you hope you feel better soon.

JKS lol at your sleeper , tbh M would sleep a lot in the day if i let her. Then she wouldn't sleep at all at night
What is it with that guy ?
Did i mention we got our new car ? Used it tonight to get ds and 2 friends from footy with both dd's too! It's lovely

Gingeme hope you enjoyed the day!!!

Well half way through L room. Has been a buggar covering the blue with pink though!!!
Think H and L want their own space back though. JUst had murders as H likes the door shut but the lamp on and L likes the door open and the landing light on
Tough on M i guess
Just settling down with glass of rose (it nearly weekend) and bar of choc to watch Jade wedding, best get some tissues!

Hey everyone,

All good here - DP just had an extra couple of days off so been spending time with him.
A is crazy been so cute today coming up with the funniest little things.
Had HV around today to get some ideas on how to deal with little things like her tantrums and sleeping so now we have plans of action to work on.
Simps may help you with tantrums?
1 - If she starts to get naggy about something she can't have distract her,
2 - If it becomes a full on tantrum move away from her (assuming its safe to do so) and allow the tantrum to play out. If she's doing something dangerous move her to a position of safety
3 - As soon as she's stopped praise her and go back to distracting.
4 - While playing with her again explain to her what she did wrong and why you left her etc like "Mummy didn't like that behaviour so she ignored you but this is much better now, thank you" - apparently even though at the mo she doesn't understand what you're saying it's setting up for later when the "naughty step" may work.

As for sleeping we're to try giving her 4 "main" meals a day, breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper. She's suggested to either take the milk away completely or cut it down so she's just having 4oz, then 3 etc. We dont like that idea but we do agree that she shouldn't be falling asleep with a bottle in her mouth. So we're going to try giving her a cup of warm milk with her supper at night and see if that works.

Feeling more capable now even though DP didn't think we should get someone around to "tell us how to raise our child" but I dont care I needed someone to help a little.

LaT - I hope you get the news your looking for soon, I think the not knowing would drive me insane.

Simps - Sorry to hear DS gave you a hard time, He was probably VERY overtired and I'm sure he actually appreciated the sleep.

Madmouse - Sorry to hear Nathan wasn't well but its good to hear that he's doing better. Laringitus sounds horrid - I dont think I've had it and I dont want it.

Hope everyone is doing good and I'll try to keep up a little better

JustKeepSwimming · 13/03/2009 06:40

Morning all

LaT - surely you are then? all symptoms and no AF. anyway i really hope you get an answer today. (think i would have near-bankrupted myself with pg tests by now!). Hate to say but...the stress of moving & being over there, without DH lots may not have done your cycle any good. Hope that's not it though and LittleTrout2 is on its way
Congrats on more teeth S - hope she slept ok.

Lily - that guy seriously has ishoos! will see what mad thing he cleans next....
hope last night was ok with H & L sharing and you get on with covering the blue today
how was Jade's wedding? don't think i could bear to watch, would cry for sure seeing as how i cry at anything!

Lucky - if you are lucky with HV then they can do exactly that - help rather than tell you what to do. not all of us are so lucky sadly (had a bad one when T was a baby and officially complained about her - she's since 'retired' ).

Madm - you feeling better today? hope so.

G - enjoy yesterday??

H did wake again last night, but at 10 just as we were going to bed so not too bad, he went back to sleep after a drink.
then both up at 6am. could be worse.
think i got nearly 8hours

H trying to help me type so best go!

LaTrucha · 13/03/2009 12:38

Just popping in to say it's a no. I was so sure I was until two days ago, then symptoms disappeared. What withthis and the positive test followed by negative, I think it must have been a chemical pregnancy - though I don't know much about those. I think I had one just before Sabela too, so.....

I hate this TTC business. Chin up and all that. I feel ok really. Will catch up properly later.

JustKeepSwimming · 13/03/2009 12:42

Massive ((((hugs)))) for you LaT

guess you should watch out for an extra heavy AF soon.
but if you had it just before S, then maybe it helps get pg the next time?

Gingeme · 13/03/2009 12:56

Afternoon ladies.
I had a fab day thankyou. Felt realy glam and spent far too much on photos (thanks grandad). Considering I very very rarely wear make up it didn't feel too bad. They didn't do much to my hair though. Just kinda jooshed it up a bit at the back. The photos were fantastic though. My God I can't believe I scrub up so well The first thing Edward and David said when I got home was 'eyes!'. I even bought a bit of eye shadow and some eyebrow pencil stuff. There were a few gay stylists too. I was talking to the lady doing my make up about ginger hair and one of the gay guys had ginger hair and he was telling me about how he was bullied at school for having it.
The photographer was sweet too. He was French and quite short. I am 5.9" in bare feet and had high heels on so he was even shorter but did a great job.Anyway it was a realy lovely afternoon. Looking forward to our family portrait next week now.
Drum roll please....George has slept through till 6.18 for 3 nights now if he carrys on over the weekend he will go in his brothers room on Monday
My big boys are coming today too so gonna be another busy weekend.

LaT great news on lo standing. Yes it is great and you have every right to be proud

madmouse how are you today ?
Lilly doesn't blue and pink make purple? Did you have to white wash it first?

MrsMcJnr? Simpson?
Well if I don't pop back later have a great weekend all xxx
