Gingeme glad you had a great time and can't wait to see the pics of you looking glam .

LaT I am feeling all for you. Such a confusing few days and then without happy outcome too!

Lily - busy gal, bet it looks lovely

Lucky, nice to have some extra time with dp and good for you on getting some advice. Shame dp did not like it, but you do most of the parenting so...

Simpson sounds like J was a bit of a handful there. Hope you are ok, you are a bit quiet is dh ok?

Thanks guys I am feeling ok. The painful bit of the laryngitis is over now, and can talk ok but still not sing. And my throat feels strange, but it is on its way out.

Busy weekend coming up. Meeting a friend in the morning, she is having her baby by csection on Monday. In the afternoon Nathan and I are going to Oxford back to theological college for a meeting with the wives who are leaving this year so we can spill the beans on what it is like to be a vicar's wife. Great to see old friends , then on Sunday church, friends for lunch then in the evening a tea to meet the candidates for the job of vicar of our smaller church, and crucially - my future partners in crime their wives

Gingeme · 13/03/2009 14:01

Ok just a curious question realy. If you are booked for a Cseection say on a Monday and you go into spontanious labour on the Friday before do they still give you the Csection?
Anyone?

madmouse · 13/03/2009 14:08

depends on why you have been booked for section. she's had two sections already and baby is very small for dates so if she went now she'd have an emergency section

JustKeepSwimming · 13/03/2009 14:11

If breech - section
If low-lying placenta in the way - section

If a planned c-s because of bad birth experiences last time, they might ask you if you want to go for it or not.

why, is she?

LaTrucha · 13/03/2009 15:04

Madmouse -oo exciting - baby on Monday.

Lilyloo- sound slike a torture painting that room! How much are you looking forward to it all done?

Lucky - sounds like sensible advice. Sabela just seems to have tantrums WHEN I leave her, so I'm not sure what I shoud try

Gingeme - PICS! PICS! PICS! PICS! PICS! PICS! Glad you had a good time!

JKS - I'm always very curious about when we conceived Sabela as I'm sure we only had sex on the first 10 or so days of the month. I'm not sure how to start counting next time, or even if I will. Just impatient for AF to come!

Simpson - Still quiet. Whassup?

Well, TBH am a bit fed up this afternoon and was impatient with Sabela . I don't think I'll ever do another pg test, I'm so fed up about having had the positive result. And I thought I was beign so disciplined about waiting until AF was missed. Just want AF to come now.

It's a really beautiful day here though, so I may go and spend too much money at the shops to cheer me up. I've been holding fire as I thought I was pregnant but now I can go for it as I'll definitely have a few months of warm weather for summer clothes now. Have also decided to try and lose a few kilos. May as well. Spanish eating habits make it easier (big lunch, afternoon snack, small tea)

I hereby offically draw a line under the last few days! Thanks for listening!

LuckySalem · 13/03/2009 16:48

LaT - sorry you've not had what you wanted

Am officially dissapointed with my town today and the things I've seen/heard today about it.

1 - Was sitting in McD's for lunch and there was a group of 3 girls/ladies with 1 boy having lunch on the table next to me. The sheer amount of swearing coming from it was bad enough but then one of them announced to the others that she'd had to see the social worker again and didn't understand why she was still on the watch list when all she'd done was discipline her child. I heard that and thought ok yeh if she's just smacked the child then its not really the end of the world but then she said. "I mean its my choice how I discipline her and if I decide that she deserves a slap then that's my decision" one of the other ladies asked her why she'd slapped her (with HUGE grin on her face) and she replied "Cos she'd used my BEST lipstick"

2 - Same group of ladies but different lady says have to go and sign on I'm so skint that I can't afford to get DS's fave sweets - Friend then says oh no, you're still getting your spray tan though aren't you? Oh yeh of course...

3 - According to the front page of our local paper we're one of the fattest towns in the UK.

4 - Apparently today (saw police cordoned off the area) a bus shut its doors on someones jacket as they departed bus and dragged him down the street. Driver then (again apparently) got out and told the lad off as he was going to have to file a report and be late home now. Lad is in hospital now with possible broken bone.

5 - Saw about 30 people pushing prams with fags hanging out of their mouths.

Sorry am soo judgey but really got to me today. Came home in a stinker of a mood.

JustKeepSwimming · 13/03/2009 19:58

Lucky - i know i know it's judgey but true &

LaT - have you ever tried the fertilityfriend website? i find it v useful even when not ttc-ing to keep track of things.

hard afternoon - friend's dd is just getting to be too much. i like the mum but feels she panders to her dd and the dd is getting to be no fun to have round.
find myself 'not liking' the little girl (2.5) very much and wishing they are busy when i offer to invite them round.

this isn't too judgey i don't think (hope) but 3 friends were here with their LOs, all playing nicely, then this girl, let's call her Annie, arrives. all hell breaks loose. Annie spends the next hour or so screaming/crying/wailing/complaining/etc.
by the time she leaves my ears are ringing and my head hurts. i was shattered.
find it hard to deal with

Gingeme · 13/03/2009 20:08

LaTrucha the pics will be ready in about 2 weeks. Can believe it by how extremely busy they were.Sorry about your baby news better luck next time eh?
Oh lucky I can see why you were in a fowl mood after over hearing that kind of conversation. Poor poor kids
Well its testostarone city here. I definately feel in the minority here this weekend
Well off for a shower then watching Red Nose.
Night all xxxx

LuckySalem · 13/03/2009 21:07

JKS - How horrid. I know a little boy at babyclub like that and I normally come home on a friday morning with a headache. Don't know how his mum copes but the difference is she's really strict with him.

LuckySalem · 13/03/2009 21:09

Will see if I can find Simpson as this quiet is not like her. Getting little worried and hope everything is ok.

madmouse · 13/03/2009 21:21

talking to her right now!

LuckySalem · 13/03/2009 21:22

yeh me too ;) lol

Lilyloo · 13/03/2009 21:47

Is Simps ok ? (please don't make me do facebook )

JKS tough one that. Is she a friend or are you friends via dc ? If the latter i would probably ease off the invites. If the former could you do play dates at another venue where you can get distracted with the boys ?

MMouse glad the throat feeling a little better. Wow busy weekend hope you don't overdo it if you just feeling little better!

Gingeme sounds like you had lovely day! Hope you going to put some piccies on here! M has red hair but it seems to be getting blonder. L had red hair as baby but it white blonde now! I love red hair!

Lucky the snapshot of your town today. But it does take all sorts of people to make the world go round i guess

LaT so sorry the news wasn't as you hoped. Sounds like something amiss though especially if still no af! How long do you wait before seeing gp ?

Well rooms finished am shattered. 4 coats to do L room. Haven't put M in yet lucky given she screaming as i type !
Will get some piccies tom and post them up!
Also got some laminate for the hall today as sick of dc traipsing in mud on the carpet and having to vax it every week.
But that one for dp to do!

LuckySalem · 13/03/2009 21:54

Lily its ok, humanity was given a break at McD's when the table cleaning guy (i'm sure they have a proper title) called me Maam and said he'd watch my pram while I changed aaliyah.
Although gave a woman a FILTHY look on the way back to car as went past Claires where a little girl was being held down to get her ears pierced she was maybe 5 (although really small)

Anyways good news now.
Aaliyah had 4 meals last night and 4 meals tonight and no bottle for bed and went to sleep almost straight away (there was a little singing but no crying) I'm not counting my chickens yet but it may be working. We gave her a cup of warmed milk but she didn't drink it - probably cos there was no bottle. lol.
She only had an hour whilst in town in the pram so I think that may have helped abit.

Bad news is the tantrum advice either not working or she's ignoring it!! lol

LuckySalem · 13/03/2009 21:57

Oh sorry and simps is fine just very tired at the mo and not able to catch up I think.

simpson · 13/03/2009 22:05

Hi guys

Sorry been a bit pants at posting but have had a few migraines (stress!!)and have found DS very tough to deal with.

Anyone who has more than 2 DCs I take my hat off to you!!

DS will not come in house (on way back from school), eat, take shoes off, get clothes off, get in bath, then get out again...

Everything is a battle Driving me round the bend!!

but he will go to bed ok

M on the other hand is being an absolute delight got first tooth (finally)today but not one of the normal first teeth, is the pointy one on top gum

Her talking really coming on and will ask for fruit pot if hungry although comes out poo pot LOL. Dunno why she bothers though as she won't let me spoon feed her

Sorry no personals, will do better tomorrow, promise!!

madmouse · 13/03/2009 22:12

dh just came home all upset from streetcare ministry, where they chat to and pray with the young people that hang around on the streets on Fridays.

He witnessed a bout of that horrible violence you see on tv. A group of youngsters exchanging punches, then one going down and everyone on top of him kicking him in the head etc. it all went very fast. I am very relieved dh did not intervene (it is in his nature to do so) as they probably would have turned on him.

Dh and his group stayed until the ambulance arrived. The lad was still talking but bleeding from his ears.

poor dh and oh my dear town

Lilyloo · 13/03/2009 22:40

MM what a dilemma for dh but glad he chose not to intervene!

Simps glad you ok! I really know where your coming from. My toughest time with H was the year before school. I even asked at nursery how he would cope at school etc. I was really worried esp when the nursery nurse said he had been cheeky to her but within 6 mths of school everything seemed to click with him.
I hope J does too. I think it's a tough age for little boys.

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 14/03/2009 11:11

Madmouse - horrible experience. Sorry for Dh.

Simpson - nice to hear from you. Sorry I have no advice to offer on DS. I'm just thinking what fun I have ahead of me . Are you feeling any better today?

Lucky - I see you as a kind of moral beacon walking round Wrexham at the moment. You flash blue when someone does something nice and red when someone does something obnoxious. LOL I'll never forget when I was in hospital with Sabela there was a woman in the ward who had a liver complaint and kept nipping out with her drip for a fag. I must say, I was gobsmacked.

JKS - I have signed up for their emails but I've only scanned them. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to get that thermometer here, TBH as things like that are very uncommon over here (you have to buy pregnancy tests from under the counter at the pharmacists FGS). I also find the prospect a bit depressing. I don't know why. With my reasoning head on I think it's a very good idea and very interesting too.

Lily - I want to know exactly how big the parcel was

Gingeme - Lol a the short photographer. I'm glad they mad eyou feel all nice though. Well done.

Mixedmama- where are you, love?

Sabela gave me a break last night, and I had no caffeine after 4.30 pm so we both slept through until 5.45. .... I actually still can't quite believe that this is a luxury She took her first tumble with DH today, and smacked her head on the floor. DH was really upset. I was nice to him but also secretly a bit pleased that it had happened to him because he thought he was super careful and infallible. (and I, of course, the reverse).

Beautiful day here and DH giving me the afternoon off to go clothes shopping (bought nothing yesterday and had to give Sabela 3 biscuits to let me go to three shops. Lord! How my standards have fallen!)

LuckySalem · 14/03/2009 17:49

MM - How horrible for the poor boy. I do hope they haven't done much damage to him. Horrible thing for your DH to witness too.

Simps - Sorry but I have no ideas but I just hope I haven't got this to come.

LaT - thats ridiculous that, buying pregnancy tests under the counter.

simpson · 14/03/2009 19:12

Madmouse - sounds awful

Was LOLing at Nathan on FB earlier, noodle part 2!!

All good here Had afternoon away from Dcs and went to footie with my dad. Was good especially as we won

Left DH with kids and he was fine but DD didn't sleep all day so ATM is currently battling settling herself!!

JustKeepSwimming · 14/03/2009 19:46

Well so far i've had:

  • need a drink (water on end of bed)
  • found it mummy
  • my socks are off (yes you took them off)
  • my toes are wet (because he bites his toenails)
  • my covers are on the floor (because you put them there)
... what will ds1 come up with next??? &

all because he fell asleep on the way back from Mothercare World....

Went to measure H's feet - 3, how cute!
had to rush out there (the town Clarks is shut for refurb) after lunch knowing the we wouldn't have long before H wanted to sleep.
as we are waiting for the lady he is signing sleep! so he went into full meltdown when she put shoes on his feet! bought them anyway and hope they are ok when he needs them.
Got T measured as well, he could go up a half-size but didn't need to so we didn't bother for now.

Madm -

LaT - that's mad! anyway, you don't need to have a thermometer really. i just put in AF & any CM (cervical mucus!) and just compare my cycles. means i have an idea when to expect AF.
I've also realised that my ahem, libido increases around ov time. need to watch out for that when im not actually ttc-ing!!!

um, brain is mush, both boys up last night at different times. then dh up with T at 5.30
my turn tomorrow as dh out tonight, yuk.

went to get more calpol night today (not really agreeing with the nonsense over 2 rule) to find that it's now over 6
think it's ridiculous frankly.

DH went out later and got some and they didn't ask him

Lilyloo · 14/03/2009 20:29

JKS ahh size 3 am still M is a 4.5!!

OP posts:
simpson · 14/03/2009 20:49

What is calpol night then?

Is it stronger than normal calpol?

Agree aged 6 a bit ridiculous

M has a pair of soft velcro boots from tescos (9-12mths) which are too big and just fall straight off.

Lilyloo · 14/03/2009 21:49

Just found this post ........................................

''ooooh...think of that scrummy-sticky-out-bum-stretch that they do.
