Madmouse - why did you think we would be disappointed??

You are a fab writer...I found it really interesting and TBH didn't think I would

How did sermon go when you gave it??

JustKeepSwimming · 06/03/2009 20:13

Brilliant Madmouse

makes me think, how many bags would i say i carry...?

  • the mum one
  • the working (if only 1 day a week) one
  • the wife of my DH one
could even be;
  • the drinking, partying student one (admittedly doesn't come out often but knocks on the inside of the cupboard door every now and then, lol)
  • the travelling, out in the bush in Africa one (never gets out these days, is in cold storage for the day when DCs are old enough to come too, or stay behind with GPs)
etc.etc. and where does the Big Man feature in any of this?? hmm. will ponder some more. So well done MM - from a not terrribly religious JKS

DH had a rough day at work, team not happy, he feels he's not helping me out enough. i feel bad about all the times i give him a hard time about not being at home.
jolly.

no dinner yet either, he wanted a takeaway but i said no cos of diet, now thinking i'll be lucky to get toast, lol

sorry, missing out all personals...back on course tomorrow.

AngeChica · 06/03/2009 20:22

I thought it was great, too. I do exactly the same with my bags... A mum bag and a me bag!!!

Whatever faith you have, or whether you have faith or not, I agree we can all relate to it in some way - that striving to live our lives by our own values and principles is not easy.

No skipping til tomorrow here, just having a nice glass of red. DS gone to bed with calpol, having developed a temperature at tea time. He can now climb up on things eg the sofa so I cannot leave him unattended anywhere because he doesn't know how to get down safely!

I found out somthing very sad today that a PG friend's baby has been confirmed as having Edward's syndrome. If you don't know what this means I will leave it to you to look up or not. I don't want to be insensitive or upset people unneccesarily .

MrsMcJnr · 06/03/2009 20:51

Hey ladies LaT came looking for me sorry I haven't been on this thread for a while. To be honest, I began to feel a bit isolated because I couldn't meet any of you and also because there was so much chat about FB. Nothing against any of you though

Hope all the toddlers are well. I just can't believe the changes in Xavier over the last few weeks. He walks alone all the time and as of yesterday can get back on his feet again from being down without pulling himself up on anything, he is playing with cars and trains and putting shapes into the sorter etc - so many new things!

LaT - fingers crossed for you hin

Lilyloo · 06/03/2009 20:54

Ange how one of my childhood friends second dc had this. He was born a few weeks early as she chose to continue with the pg. I think this is a very brave decision considering the outcome. Your poor friend

How is A doing M seems fine after the first bad night just lots of iffy nappies!
Hope the new kitchen settling in well

LaT lol at you spilling secret i hope it is a bfp!!!
Poor Sabela although guess it yesterday news for her now!

MM well done on the sermon. Where is your blog ? (feels stupid as obv everyone else knows) it sounded really interesting when you talked about it at the weekend!
So glad you had the time to talk with dh and the baby planning It is just so hard to find the time to clear the air.

JKS yawwwwn poor you. I have to say i massively sympathise H was and still is an early waker. It killed me tbh and only got better when he could play upstairs / come downstairs by himself as he got older. Our neighbours lo is the same. He is 2 and she sees H get up and switch the light on at 5.30/6! I dont know how he does it and he still up now we let him have one late night on Fri. He has to go to bed early to cope for school etc normally. Still in bed at 7 ish now!

Simps am sure Molly will get used to it. She reminds me very much of my sis lo. She has got better with each creche / nursery session but it has taken a fair bit of time.
So lovely to see her move on with her eating and fab weight considering her special dietary requirements , must be all your fab cooking I think £40 is fine , in fact a pretty good bargain! The mot was ok cost just over £100.

Mmama well done you wow bet your really happy with that! Was it really hard ? You have been doing lots of walking though haven't you ?

Lucky i with you on the bank thing but hey ho little you can do about it! Bless A everything seems such a struggle for them doesn't it and when they get there the little grin on there face speaks a million words!

Gingeme hope the funeral wasn't too hard today

Well have got M some shoes and we held fingers and walked into pre school today she was very pleased with herself
She had much better night last night too. I really do have to limit her sleep in the day.
Been at my poor dads today. The empty flat above his had a leak last night it had been pouring in my dads all night and he couldn't get hold of anyone. He had to leave it this am to go to work as they were having redundancy meeting so i went down to try and sort it.
Managed to get hold of caretaker who turned water off.
But damage very bad , basically every room nedds replastering and carpets replacing etc!
The worst room , the store cupboard had all his photos in and his wedding album i did my best to try and dry them out before he came home.
He was absolutely devestated
So have just vaxed all his floors for him and am now having a glass of vino with an aching back!!!!

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 06/03/2009 21:18

hey MrsMc - good to see you back on here
Sounds like X is really coming along. H could walk if he wanted to/felt confident enough. he stands there not holding on, dancing, etc. but won't walk. come on mate!!!

Ange - that's sooo sad is it definite? or possible from tests? i know a mum now who was told possibly Edwards during pg (i didn't know her then) and her little boy is now fine... anyway awful x lots

Lily - your poor dad hope the photos dry out ok. and he's insured well enough to get it all back into a good state soon.

ho hum, dh gone to bed, i'm going too. best try and cheer him up - and no i don't mean that mooncup just being shelved (still think it's fab btw) and neither of us have the energy!
sometimes i wonder about ttcing no3 at all. what if we get ds1 sleeping later (fingers crossed) then get another one like him....!

Lilyloo · 06/03/2009 21:21

JKS following H i got L who sleeps 14+ hours a night wakes about 8 ish and even M stays in bed until 7.30 ish!
Have faith lol!!!

I know the photos of my mum are the main thing am just looking into photo restoration sites now.

OP posts:
simpson · 06/03/2009 21:46

Lilyloo - what awful news about the pics and the rest of your dad's flat obviously

Ange - what awful news for your friend

Mrs Mcjnr - good to see you back sounds like X coming on well!!

Molly had her first taste of chocolate and it was a huge hit!!

She fed herself her tea then I put her in bumbo in front of TV (only way I can spoon feed her and even then it depends on mood and she has to have fed herself her tea beforehand iyswim!!) She saw the pot being opened and kept saying "fruit pot!!"

Chocolate went everywhere except the carpet thank God!! Was in her hair, ears etc!!

But was a big hit (thank God as not cheap!!) Have got vanilla flavoured ones too for her to try tomorrow...

mixedmamameansbusiness · 07/03/2009 15:23

Afternoon all,

Ange - for your friend, cannot even begin to imagine how she muist feel or even as a friend how you deal with that.

Lily - yep lots of walking and went for a walk/small run today and joint our local leisure centre. Bargain as well as because we get about £15 per month of working tax credit which i had thought was a waste of time we get it COMPLETELY FREE... turns out there are benefits attached. The kids have joint as well so we can go swimming etc.

MrsMc - helloooo. Sorry you felt that way, will try harder

mixedmamameansbusiness · 07/03/2009 15:25

lily - meant to say about your dads pics aswell. my GP had a flat that my uncle lived in where all their pics were kept and he is a little estranged from us all and he didnt tell anyone the council were evicting him and we only found out cos his daughter (who lives two doors down) was passing by when the bailliffs were taking everything... all the pics we used to look at when we were growing up all of our grandparents possessions everything gone... it is awful when you have memories taken away like that.

JustKeepSwimming · 07/03/2009 16:19

Well we had such a crap night!
H up at 11.30 (first night in a few that i've not given the calpol at bedtime, big mistake!). told dh where the medicine was & the spoon, he faffed, H cried....12 minutes later i asked him what he was doing 'giving him some medicine'
about 30secs later H is quiet in bed.
why????
why not give him the medicine straight away????
he said he went to get him a drink first, turned on some lights, etc.....
by this time i was wide awake so took me ages to get back to sleep. was still awake at 12.30 last time i checked.

then 3am, T up. brought him into bed but he was too fidgety and i was getting cross. put him back in his bed. he got straight up again and was doing something. by the time i get to landing he has dragged laundry basket out of bedroom as he wants his socks on
find some socks and he goes back to sleep.
weird kid.
then everyone up at 6.30. which wasn't too bad i suppose.
everyone knackered today. H sleeping lots, not well.
i've been on the day nurse and feel crappy too.
dh in bed as he was out with T this morning.
T the only one who is full of beans (if grumpy).

mixedm - that's fab about the gym
but awful about your GP's stuff

we are both out later, sod's law. will hopefully get a better night tonight - guess who won't forget calpol?!

LaTrucha · 07/03/2009 18:50

Sorry not to catch up properly - DH back and visitors here.

Mixed and confusing news on the test front. I did one which said I was. Then one of another kind which says I wasn't. A few more days I guess... [impatient emoticon]

Just time to say, I'm going to read the sermon later and HI MRSMC - good to have you back.....

JustKeepSwimming · 07/03/2009 18:55

LaT - have you not read these threads on here before??? the first one said +ve.
no such thing as a false +ve (barring weird fertility treatment).
The second one, your wee would have been weaker/the hormone level lower so it said -ve.

I would like to offer (early days) congratulations

simpson · 07/03/2009 18:58

LaT - agree with JKS

When pg with DS had the same thing as your having now...+ ive then neg etc...

Tentative congrats

Do a test tomorrow with first morning wee!!

LaTrucha · 07/03/2009 19:37

I can't! I haven't got one, and Sunday means Sunday in Spain - no shops open. I tried to get on ein the supermarket, but they're very strict abou thtese things too. Medical things are for the pharmacy only. So, Monday to buy on, Tuesday to test. Sorry ladies!

I'm thinking along the same lines. I was gobsmacked this morning when it came negative. Especially as I had already told DH. He was very

Right, off to read your other posts!

LaTrucha · 07/03/2009 19:52

Ange - I don't know about the syndrome, but I'm guessing it's pretty dreadful. So sorry.

Madmouse - sounds like you're having lots of fun with NAthan lately. . I haven't had a chance with the sermon yet.

Mixedmama - have fun at the leisure centre! HAve they got soft play?

MrsMc- How are you finding having such an active toddler and being pg? Have the headaches all gone?

Gingeme - where are you? Off having fun again?

Lilyloo- that's horrible abou tthe photos. I hope you can get them restored. I know jessps did a pretty good job on some crumpled and torn ones of my mum's but I don't know about wet.

JKS - how on earth do you keep your temper when your LO wakes you up looking for socks? Especially when you've already been up, and down, and up! What on earth have I got to look forward to! LOl at Lo dancing but not walking.

Simpson - Fun withthe chocolate! I was being very superior for no good reason as the first time I gave Sabela a bit of chocolatem, she hated it. I did slip her a bit of the chocolate MAdmouse sent me, and she adored it. I have never seen her eyes go so wide.

She's off teething again, cutting molar number 4, I believe. SHe bit me while feeding today. She was really upset as I had to unlatch and put her down and she thought she'd done something terrible and I was pushing her away. She was sobbing!

She's definitely cruising now, but from hand to hand rather than on furniture - although she does it a bit.

She's had a whale of a time today with lots of people in the house but still had a few private cuddles for mummy bless her!

simpson · 07/03/2009 20:29

LaT - just keep yourself busy and time will fly by before you know it, it will be tuesday

Was it Sabela who loved spaghetti??

Molly just the same today shovelling spaghetti & pesto in at an alarming rate..this child will give me a heart attack some day I swear

Lilyloo · 07/03/2009 20:35

Simps was that the new stuff ordered from net ???

LaT tentative congrats you cannot have false positive but can have false negative!!
I only had one bite up to now! Are you going to self wean ??? I not really thought about it and we are going on much longer than i had anticipated.

JKS poor you i imagine you gone to bed already!!

MMama great news about the gym would love to join one with a creche for the dc

The photos are drying out now and he has got a loss adjustor coming round next week. I am going to get him a dehumidifier next week too. He keeps saying it might dry out and the carpet looks ok etc I have told him to get everything replaced !!

OP posts:
simpson · 07/03/2009 20:53

Lilyloo - fingers X over the photos...

Yep was from dietary needs direct. The pesto looked quite nice actually, would est it myself

Forgot to say, we went to Odds Farm today and DS was very proud of himself as he fed a goat

DD went on the swings and played in sand pit, so a good time had by all!!

madmouse · 07/03/2009 21:03

LaT yep, false negatives are common false positives are rare! But I will postpone my congrats to Tue. Shame I can't send you another one by tomorrow

Not much fun with Nathan today winge winge winge double sided extra strong velcro baby and still not eating much. He is coughing a lot less so I guess it is the teeth now. Can't wait for him to attack his food again.

At least we are done with the eye drops .

Am feeling pretty grotty myself. Should have known when my voice went last night I have COPD but have not been anywhere near an inhaler since before I got pregnant, so none in the house. i needed a very hot shower to get going and was breathless pushing the pushchair this morning.

Better now and just polished bathroom to a shimmer

uhoh best see why babe is crying

Lilyloo · 07/03/2009 21:14

ooh MM M must be talking to N she up crying now too.
Have tried bottle / bf and calpol still whimpering.
Her face seems little puffy though which nurse said could happen up to two weeks after mmr with the mumps part

OP posts:
simpson · 07/03/2009 21:17

Another baby awake here too

Are they all on babynet talking about their mummies

Molly is quite happy though, singing away
