Runny - Bettys is wonderful isn't it? I love Cath Kidston too So glad you had a good time. Your hotel was about 10 minutes walk away from where we used to live! I love that street - full of fab houses - real property porn!

The minster is amazing isn't it - I love the way it looks at pretty much any time of day and year - but it's particularly special for me in spring time. The stone is so beautiful and warm. It's just amazing to stand there (or cycle past as I more often do tbh) and think that people have been looking at that building for the best part of a thousand yesrs (ok I think it's more like 800 but who wants to be exact!) And before that the Vikings and before that the Romans were standing in those streets thinking should they go to Roman Cath Kidston or pop into Roman Bettyracum I have to say it - this is a brilliant place to live

geordieminx · 11/02/2009 21:51

Hey ladies

Great news re Elkie, hopefully things will get better every day.. are they still in hospital?

Runny - pleased you had a fab time in York, its a fav of mine - some lovely shoe shops

I have a wee bit of news.. dp and I have finally booked our wedding - 3rd Oct, at the Malmaison in Glasgow

Sexonlegs · 11/02/2009 21:57

Evening all

Elkie, glad things are going well xx

Runny, sounds like you had a wonderful break. Were the boys pleased to see you??

NL, hope the driving lesson went well.

Hi Dooby, how's the house hunting going?

Dippy, you sound rushed off your feet. Hope you are ok.

All ok here. Nurofen lasted until about 5, and up until then K was lovely. Gave her some more as her temp had gone up again, and am expecting a broken night. Picked up B from school and she was complaining of tummy ache and achy legs, but she managed to eat pizza and then wanted a biscuit later on! Can't be too bad. Just glad it is half term next week

Right, off to bed,so see you lovelies tomorrow. xx

Sexonlegs · 11/02/2009 21:59

Fab news GM. Malmaison, Glasgow is gorgeous (as of course you know!)

Bramshott · 12/02/2009 09:19

Thanks for the update from Elkie Runny. Glad that she's hanging in there and really hope she's getting the support she needs. It does make me so angry though, that she's going through this again, and while I'm sure that Elkie is strong enough and informed enough by Mumsent to fight for the support and help she and C need, how many other mums would just say "oh I can't make enough milk" and give up .

Great news about the wedding date GM!!!!!!!!!

Dippy & Eddas - if you're on today, REALLY looking forward to meeting later on. I am at the Opera House in the centre of town (which most of the year is a pub, but this week is an Opera House again!) which is next door to Prezzo, so that might be a good place to meet for a plate of pasta? Then I can keep popping back next door to see if they need me! I'll text you both a bit later this morning.

CaptainDippy · 12/02/2009 09:38

Go Elkie - perservere!! xx

Yey for Wedding date GM

of all this talk of York - my fave UK city. Sigh.

Right, off to Fostering Panel now, so "see" you later ladies

LOL @ "Property Porn" NL - there 's a part of Eastbourne called "Meads" ... >

Hi everyone
Fostering panel Dippy? Have I missed some news?

Bramshott · 13/02/2009 14:17

Lovely to meet up with Eddas last night! Sorry I was a bit 'scatty'!!

Northernlurker · 13/02/2009 15:32

Hi all

Congratulations GM! Good luck with the dress hunt!

Oooggs - what sort of mess - is it bleeding or sore - or both? Could you have a blocked duct or might there be something about his positioning on that side which is causing a problem? If you don't feed with a pillow you could try using one to support him and see if that helps - or try the rugby ball hold - I used that with B when I had mastitis and it helped.

SPB - I think Dippy is sitting on a fsostering panel not applying for foster children herself! Correct me if I'm wrong though Dippy

Luce - love that set - I did a baking party a couple of weeks ago for dd2 (8) and gave them all a little wooden spoon and rolling pin in lieu of a party bag - they were thrilled! Your dd will absolutely love that!

Well the plumber has been today and fixed our heat HURRAH!!! The girls and I went out this morning to toddler group too so that was nice (Big girls have training day so I've got today off work) We had a quite a bit of snow here yesterday - really struggled cycling/walking home. It was freezing and so slippy but today it's just about all melted so getting out etc was ok.

No more news from Elkie? Hope she and Connor are getting on ok.

runnyhabbit · 13/02/2009 15:55

I have d&v

Hoping that it's just a 24 hr thing. Have got the builders in on Monday, and need to pack stuff away, birthday party tomorrow, dh is oncall this weekend and mbut most importantly, I really don't want anyone in the house getting it

Anyway.....Elkie has text me a pic of Conor. He's sleeping and looks very contented. nearly makes me feel broody

NL - hurray for heat. We've had our gas bill 252quid for the last quarter. Have to say, I thought it was going to be quite a bit more than that. Although its estimated, so might have to take a deep breath and check the meter (gulp)

GM - great news about wedding. Had a little peak at their website - it looks stunning. And trying on dresses is soooo exciting. I choose mine in one day. And only tried it on because my mum begged me too. I didn;t like it on the hanger, but fell in love with it when it was on.

Oooggs - have you tried using a pump to relieve the pressure (if its mastitis/blocked duct) Still hurt but i could feel the pressure die down, and felt better because I could control the suction iyswim.

Sol - the boys were so excited to see us and then got even more excited when they saw they presents. J has told me that he wants to stay in a posh hotel with mummy, and daddy and bruva can stay at home this is coming from a proper daddys boy lol

StealthPolarBear · 13/02/2009 16:05

oh no runny hope it's over soon
Thanks for clearing up the fostering thig NL, I didn't know that.
Gm - did I say congratulations, or did I mean to but struggle with technology?! definitely remember writing it but had some problems posting over the last day or so...

runnyhabbit · 13/02/2009 16:59

Feeling a bit better, esp since J has come home with a Pupil Of The Week award for

"Chwarae yn hyfryd gyda'r plant eriall"

which means plays plesantly in a group of other children.
