Ooooggs, I so know the place you are in right now. Sod the house. Sod the washing. Sod everything. Wait until Big J is at school and book twins into nursery and take Mini L out for a walk, a bloody good shop and go to a cafe and have a HUGE hot choc and perhaps invite a good friend along (unless you want to be alone). Don't be afraid to ask for help and don't feel guilty about the way you are feeling. It is perfectly natural and normal. You are a good mother and you are doing your best. You have a lot on your plate right now and you are not Super Woman.

Make that a HUGE hot choc with cream, marshmallows and choc sprinkles!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs and Love from DippyLand who wishes she lived a lot closer. xxxxxxxx

Ditto to everything that CD said so eloquently.
Oooggs, try not to be so hard on yourself, you are in a very tough place just now. I struggle with two children so can only barely imagine what life is like with double that amount. Life with young children can be really hard going, and life with 4 young children would test the patience of a saint. You are doing a grand job xxx

SOL, hope the dodgy tum is improving

Snow all but gone here now although our snowman is surviving so far! More forecast overnight though so crossing fingers it doesn't arrive - have got a 20 mile journey to get to work by 8am tomorrow morning.

We still have lots of snow - I've put a couple of pics on my profile - hence the school being closed again. I'm half wondering whether there will be any school this week.

I'm supposed to be in Sussex again tomorrow but I just have to wait and see I guess (I didn't go yesterday). To top it all off - O has had D & V on and off since Sunday, although nothing since yesterday lunchtime, so I'm hoping she'll be okay for the CM tomorrow. A tricky week . . . !

Hi all just posting to express congratualtions to Elkie - wow 10lbs! Well done and hope you recover quickly so you can get home.

Ditto what others have said to oooggs - you are an inspiration with having 4 so young and especially with the twins not yet 2. It's hard work at the best of times so don't be too hard on yourself. Actually I quite fancy that hot choc Dippy mentioned...

Things are more settled here. DS1 completely recovered from his op - as if it never happened. DH coming to terms about his redundancy and keeping himself busy. Also his mother has backed off a little with all the gory details of the issues with his father. Our latest stress is the bloody cat who has decided that DS1's bed is his toilet. . Hey ho.

Have told my work now that DC3 is in it's way. All fine - not really much they can do anyway .

Keep warm all x

Evening

Hope all poorly people are feeling better. DH is much improved but still feels pretty yucky. I have been sick only twice today, but think a sandwich (the most I have eaten in 2 days)at lunchtime has kicked off my IBS. I could fart any one of you into oblivion this evening and dh has sent me upstairs with the laptop because "My goodness the smell!" TMI sorry

Oooggs just wanted to say that I think you do a wonderful job. Trying to imagine coping with Gx2 a newborn and an older child makes my head spin, but it's reality for you everyday. Once the loft is done you'll feel more in control and agree with "the sod the house - focus on you and the dcs" advice.

leakyR · 05/02/2009 08:40

Oh dear I must have frightened you all off with my wind!

I was wrong. It wasn't IBS - I've been up all night with the d to go with the v in my d and v bug. Feel rubbish and the boy is being a clingy monster.

Need to to go to Tesco as the cupboards are bare. Not in the mood at all!

Snowing here, but not heavy. Usually like snow but bit concerned about going A over T in my current condition.

Hope you all have a good day.

Sorry you're ill leaky Although I did lol at your wind comments!

Bramshott hope O is better today.

Oooggs - I echo what everyone else has said, especially Dippy's hot chocolate comments!

Dylan being royal PITA today, possibly due to being awake since 5 this morning. He woke up saying 'stairs, choo choo', which means 'come downstairs with me and put Thomas on the telly'. Something dADDY MAY WELL HAVE DONE HAD HE BEEN HERE BUT ,oops, with Mummy there is no chance!!

Just had to look up what time he was born on the stats thread as I couldn't remember, is that really bad?!

He is trying to drag the laptop away from me now so think i best go!

DS coughed until he was sick last night Worst thing is I just thought he had woken up so after feeding I tried to put him back in his cot - not realising it was covered. It was only when I felt it was sticky that I realised.
I did have the loveliest cuddle though - stripped him off as he was soaked and then felt so sorry for him I said ahhhh and cuddled him. I then tried to stop as I wanted to get some clothes on him quickly, but he just kept clinging to my neck and going ahhhhh
He really hates anything being a mess - after I'd realised and put the light on he kept pointing to it and going "oh dear", looking really sad. He does that if he drops stuff too (doesn't stop him though!) Is that normal at this age, or am I giving him my neuroses?

Report
CaptainDippy · 05/02/2009 15:33

Normal ....and really cute!

P hates getting mess on her hands, even a tiny speck. She holds her little hand up to me saying: "wipe, wipe" .... Awwww! Whenever she drops something, gets something dirty or does something "pickle-y", it's "ut oh...." She is yummy cute!!

Need to have a whinge...

Going to York for the weekend tomorrow, without the boys, for the first time in about about 4years.

However, even though York is looking ok on the weather front, dh has gently reminded me that to get to York, we go through the Midlands, which has had a severe weather warning

Am looking at alternative routes, but in the meantime I'll have a shout at Mother Nature and ask her why she had to do this now

I'm off to Northants area on Saturday so expect the same problems. I think it will be fine
