That's good news Elkie

Bramshott · 24/02/2009 09:26

That's great news Elkie!!

N had an inset day yesterday so she wasn't back to school until this morning. Unusually for me, I did feel quite sad as she has been so lovely over this half term. She was very cuddly this morning - came into the shower with me, and then wanted a big cuddle as I was strapping her into her taxi. She will be fine as soon as she hits the playground though - running, shouting, choreographing dances routines to Abba songs etc!

Hope you have good news from M's appointment Dooby. Remind me what the problem is? (sorry!)

Since the new Mumsnet, does anyone else find it's really slow to post? I type stuff, and it doesn't appear for 10 seconds or so, which makes it very difficult to correct my spelling mistakes!

MJreturns · 24/02/2009 13:00

Fab news Elkie! You are doing a great job with the feeding, glad things seem to have settled down for you all

SOL, nightmare about the bathroom. Hope it has all dried up now! Lovely to hear that your mum is doing well, she must be one strong lady xxx

POTC, I hoped that the lurker had long since departed, but obviously not. Hope you are ok. How is J doing today? Hope he is getting better now. Shame you missed your weekend away but maybe you could arrange it for later in the year instead?

Caz, I know what you mean about the children going back to school. Ds went back today (had hearing assessment yesterday so missed the day). He has been so lovely this half term and I can honestly say I have loved having him at home with me.

Apologies if I have forgotten anyone, hope everyone is well xxx

MJreturns · 24/02/2009 13:00

Oh Dooby, hope M's appt goes well today xxx

Evening all

Elkie, so pleased that C is doing well. You must be so relieved and pleased. Well done

Dooby, fab news re M!!! Are you supposed to be moving this weekend??

Hi MJ; long time no see. Glad half term was good for you all.

How is everyone else?

All ok here. And............

I have been offered a new job - the job I had the interview for yesterday!!!

I am delighted, but also feel very sad that I will be leaving my current job, as I love it. Keep crying

Anyway, bed beckons; K was awake at 3.00 with teeth issues, and I a bloody knackered.

See you lovelies tomorrow.

elkiedee · 24/02/2009 22:12

Congratulations on the new job SOL - how many days a week will it be?

liath · 25/02/2009 07:58

Congratulations, SOL. When do you start?

Good news about M, Dooby .

Elkie, I'm so glad things are improving for you & hope now health professionals are less on your back you can get on with enjoying being a mum to your ds's.

GM, how's the jaw?

Nothing interesting going on here. Ds is getting so grown up and a few of my friends are going for Number 3. I'm a bit jealous of them but DH is really anti another baby . Oh well.....I kind of know he's right but I get so broody sometimes!

Sexonlegs · 25/02/2009 08:04

It is 22.5 hours a week and I will do it over 4 days so I can still drop off and pick up B from school on 3 days with dh doing the other day.

It is a bit more than I would like, but beggers can't be choosers as they say, and the job is fab.Need to run; back later xx

cazboldy · 25/02/2009 09:54

Great news about M Dooby

Congrats on the new job SOL

I have got to take Harry to the dentist later, to have a tooth removed where he keeps getting his abscess not looking forward to it....

MJreturns · 25/02/2009 10:38

Great news about the job SOL, congratulations! 22.5 hours is not so bad (it's what I do), and the fact that you can fit it around school is a bonus. Lots of luck xxx

Caz, good luck with the tooth, I don't envy you that job today. Hope he is ok xxx

Dooby, so pleased that all is well with M. At least you can move over here now without needing to worry about him

Need to pop into work later to visit the occupational health department. I need a booster injection (joy) so am getting it done today when my mum is around to have the dc's for me. She is off this week so will have F and pick up E from school too. The logical thing to do would be to get it done on a day I am in work, but I have tried that before and never get away and so miss my appointment!

CaptainDippy · 25/02/2009 10:56

I have just heard about David and Sarah Cameron's oldest son, Ivan's sad death Praying for David, Sarah, Nancy and Arthur at this sad time. They have experience so much as a couple and I for one have so much admiration for them both. xx

StealthPolarBear · 25/02/2009 17:19

hi everyone
fantastic news dooby!
well done on new job sol
yes, i heard that on the news dippy, so sad

Bramshott · 25/02/2009 18:50

Great news about M Dooby!!

And great job news SOL!

DH was told yesterday that there will be redundancies where he works. Very unlikely to be him, and I bet many, many companies are in the same position, but still, a really horrible feeling, especially as we are so dependent on his income. SOL's story has re-assured me that there are still people recruiting out there!

Tell me ladies - who still has their stairgate up?! I am thinking of taking ours down as we rarely close it, and it's an annoying trip hazard at the top of the stairs. But would I be being a negligent parent? Is O still too small yet? But then if I was being a good parent, I'd be closing it wouldn't I!!

StealthPolarBear · 25/02/2009 19:11

urgh i feel dreadful

Doobydoo · 25/02/2009 19:49

Congrats to job SOL
Bramshott really hope,as you said,dh keeps job.
SPB What is up?Do you think it pregnancy related?
Thankyou all for being happy for M
We were trying to watch Bear on video, but not very good picture.I investigated and discovered tea strainer, part of light sabre and forkWorks fine now
Dp has interview in UK next Fri.
We are moving end of March now,has taken a while to find house etc....found one that seems ok
Ds1 will be going to school.I cannot believe he will be in secondary in a year and a half.I t would be 2 and a half years here. They still do 11+ in Lincolnshire[this sept!]
Hope tooth extraction went ok Caz?
GM,How is your jaw?
Very sad about Ivan Cameron.
I worked for a year in a Childrens Hospice...and I can tell you [unsentimentally]that I met totally amazing parents and children.xxxxxxxxx
Hello to all I haven't mentioned.xxxx

CaptainDippy · 26/02/2009 07:14

Ooooh, can you show us a link for your house Dooby

Bramshott - we've never had stairgates with DD2 or DD3. DD3 has been proficiently climbing up & downstairs for probably over a year!!

oooh we still have a stair gate, and we shut it! DS is capable of going up and down the stairs but not capable of stopping himself hurtling over the top when he's running round like a mad thing, I think!
Although leaving it open is no longer crime of the century, as it used to be.
I just feel ill, cough and cold cough is giving me a headache, sore throat and sicknss. no energy and tired all the time. Thanks for asking as it gave me a chance to have a little winge - feel much better
