Fantastic news about the weight gain Elkie!!! Let's hope that this is the start of things turning around for you and you getting OUT of the clutches of the doctors and on with being a mum to your two lovely boys! I would be so interested to know whether that first dramatic weight loss was actually real, or just a product of bad weighing / different scales etc.

Oooggs - glad that the mixed feeding is working and that things are settling down.

Eddas - sounds like you had a good night last night

SOL - glad you had a good holiday

GM - hope you're feeling better

Caz - Hope M is feeling better

Hi SPB & Leaky!

Right, we are off to visit friends in Cambridge today so I must go and get sorted!

Where is everyone???

Dooby, you poor love. Hope you start to feel better soon. Fingers crossed for M too xx

SPB, hope you are feeling better too.

Had a fab day today. We went to the beach this afternoon and had such a lovely and fun time.

Got Mum and Dad coming over for lunch tomorrow, so should be another good day. Mum is doing so well with the chemo (thanks for asking Dooby

Having a real nightmare with K at bath time. She has taken a sudden dislike to it and screams and tries to climb out. She bit dh so hard tonight in her rage that it cut him - and through his top

I seem to recall B going through this, but not sure at what age, or for how long. Anyone else had this?? It is so awful to see her ike this.

elkiedee · 21/02/2009 21:29

Evening all

C is seeking continuous feeding again, hope it's a sign that he's going to continue to put on weight.

We went for our first outing as the 4 of us plus my dad today, just to the local park and cafe 5 minutes walk away, but it was nice, a really sunny winter afternoon. We bumped into a family who have been really good park friends to us - a Polish couple with a son just a few weeks younger than D - but we haven't seen so much of each other during the winter (short days, dark nights and cold weather make it harder to get there) and of course not at all recently. I've finally got a phone number for them - they live just the other side of the park and I thought it would be nice to be able to find out if each other were going there, or to meet for a cup of tea or something.

My dad suggested he and dp take D out further afield, and leave us at home but I was keen to go out somewhere other than the hospital for once, and fortunately dp was in agreement.

elkiedee · 21/02/2009 21:38

Hope POTC is having/has had a good birthday.

CaptainDippy · 22/02/2009 07:58

Hi everyone

leakyR · 22/02/2009 19:38

Evening everyone

I'm home alone overnight for the next 2 nights. G is in Northumberland with dh until Tuesday. It feels odd. Have been away from G with dh and dh has been away for work loads, but I haven't been alone for 2 years Too knackered and pg to do anything more exciting than veg out in pjs and and eat icecream.

Had a pleasant week with ILs which MIL has now tarnished with something thoughtless and tactless she said to dh last night. I cried for 45 mins this morning (on the top deck of a bloody bus of all places) when he told me. On top the knackered, hormonal pg thing I'm just a bit fragile atm with all the shit stuff going on with my parents. Just when I think ILs have finally "caught some empathy" they prove themselves to be spectacularly insensitive.

I appreciate I'm being vague but it's long and boring and possibly insignificant so I won't go into detail.

Elkie - I'm so pleased things are looking up and congratulations on your new niece

CaptainDippy · 22/02/2009 19:56

Enjoy the time out though, I am soooo !!! xx

elmajo · 22/02/2009 20:45

Thank you for the birthday wishes

Unfortunately it has led to a certain unwelcome lurker sending me bitchy texts but I'm passed worrying about that anymore, just feel quite sorry for her.

It didn't go to plan, J is really not well still so I didn't get my weekend away, but I did get to see an MN friend performing in a play which was absolutely hilarious, and enjoyed the cast party

Haven't caught up, and have lots I'd like to post that I'm not going to because it's none of her fucking business, but rest assured I am always here reading and don't want to be forgotten

elkiedee · 22/02/2009 20:50

As if we could forget you elmajo

Sexonlegs · 22/02/2009 20:56

Evening all.

Elmajo, sorry your birthday didn't go to plan What's up with poor J? Sorry you are having problems with someone.

Leaky, hope you re ok. You sound down. Hope you can enjoy your free time. Ikwym about stupid comments from in-laws. My mil is queen of those - they may seem minor but they really bug me.

How is everyone else?

The day started off a nightmare. Unbeknown to me, K had turned the tap on in the bathroom basin and put the plug in. It must have been going for about 10 minutes and when I went in the floor was under an inch of water. Even worse was that it was soaking in to the kitchen ceiling and water was pouring out of one of the lights!! Dh was out at the time too, so whilst I was supposed to be cooking lunch, I was bailing out water! Anyway, the day got better and we had a lovely time with my Mum and Dad

StealthPolarBear · 22/02/2009 21:10

Oh no SOL! How bad is the damage? If that's not a stupid question...water pouring out of the lights doesn't sounds good!
leaky, sorry your MIL upset you
Still feeling dreadful, but slightly less dreadful than I did during the week.

CaptainDippy · 23/02/2009 11:04

Oh no SOL Hope it is not too bad xx

Oooooh, bit of info for our pregnant ladies on the thread ......Just got this email through work .....

£190 for every mother

There is a new Health in Pregnancy Grant avialable to mothers whose EDD is on or after 1 April 2009. It is £190 to spend aas they wish. I am working to get this news out on the website, Update etc. Here is the link to the HMRC site explaining the grant:

www.hmrc.gov.uk/hipg/what-is-it.htm

If you encounter parents who are worried about money, make sure they are aware of this grant.

I am so - perhaps I'll get PG just to get the spondoodles!!

Hi all.....

oh dear at your disaster SOL ......

everything ok here, but I hate the kids going back to school

CaptainDippy · 23/02/2009 11:44

Bless you Caz I am quite glad of getting back into routine, DD2 much prefers it!

OP posts:
cazboldy · 23/02/2009 12:43

maybe thats the problem... I don't really do routines.....

leakyR · 23/02/2009 19:30

Hi everyone

CD - My midwife talked to me about the HIP grant last appointment. Might use mine to hire/buy a birth pool.

Elmajo - sorry you didn't get the weekend you planned. We could never forget you, you are missed.

SOL - hope the damage is minimal. We had a flood in our bathroom in Leeds when the boiler in the flat upstairs was leaking water through our ceiling for days. But amazingly it was days before any lasting damage was done.

Dh has found the balls to tell MIL that she has upset me. However (typically) her apology/justification has left me feeling just as bad. Odd,odd woman. I'm so looking forward to the "family holiday" in September

Sexonlegs · 23/02/2009 21:34

Evening

Caz, bless you for not wanting the dc to go back to school! I personally couldn't wait!!!

Actually, that's not true; I just hate getting up so early in the morning to do the school run!

Leaky, grrrr to mil.

Hope everyone else is well.

The damage luckily is minimal. We have lino in our en-suite and that seems to of acted as quite a good barrier!!

Anyway, a cuppa and some chocolate beckon, so see you tomorrow xx

CaptainDippy · 24/02/2009 07:20

Morning!

So glad damage is not too bad SOL!

Hi all

Our internet access got cut off for most of yesterday morning and I didn't get much time once we were home and it was restored to get online.

C was back above his birthweight, doctor was pretty happy with him and we don't have to go back until Thursday, when we already had appointments to be there anyway.
