Jenwa - that video is great! I'd forgotten how mad that whole moving tummy thing is. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I hope Naomi and all of you had a fantastic day today Myjob!

MM - How exciting. I don't know whether you're mad or not, but I do know from friends that other people's reactions can be a bit disappointing when you tell them you're expecting number 3.

A friend of mine has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and will need surgery and chemo. I have to say, all this horrible news really makes me count my blessings every day. We just don't know what's ahead, do we?

jenwa · 01/03/2009 20:38

Video funny, it is freaky though but I do miss it.

Will have a look at your pics in a bit honeymoon aubergenie Yeh, feeling better today, had some cheese rolls before and all good Your poor friend, what a shame, its awful and makes you realise how scary life can be.

csws had a little chuckle as just logge don to face book and your status popped up and I looked very quickly and did not think it said 'multiple wakings!' I thought for a minute your DH was going to be a very lucky man!!!

Quiet on here today!

jenwa · 01/03/2009 20:38

honeymoon that pic with Poppy on the bear is soooo sweet and fab!

Marthasmama · 01/03/2009 20:42

Oh, Aubergenie, , I don't know what to say. You're having so much bad news lately.

Marthasmama · 01/03/2009 20:44

Jenwa - ha ha ha re: CSWS's status!

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/03/2009 21:09

norty norty Jenwa!

Does anyone else get frustrated trying to load video to fb? It's sooooo slow, and there seems to be no way to check that it's actually doing something and hasn't fallen over. Think I'll give up and go to bed and leave laptop on. Will have to watch yours tomorrow jenwa.

for your friend aubergenie.

Honeymoonmummy · 01/03/2009 21:48

I'm sorry to hear about your friend Aubergenie.

Sorry Jenwa, I meant new pics on faceboook, but yes, the polar bear is one of my faves! I've got a great series of quick shutter pics of her falling off that and me catching her!

Yes CSWS, vid is a PITA on FB isn't it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/03/2009 06:21

how was your night hmm? We've been up over an hour already. Ds is contentedly blowing raspberries next to me in bed.

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 02/03/2009 06:34

Morning CSWS. I've been up since five but M has gone back to sleep now. I'm not sure if there's any point going back to sleep now as DS will be up soon. Did you have another disturbed night? Oooo, there's DS now.....

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/03/2009 07:18

Ds still up, sitting playing in his chair, whilst dd watches Peppa Pig and we eat breakfast. Yes to disturbed night. I don't think I was up at 1-anything, but saw every other hour. Glad I went to bed early!

OP posts:
aubergenie · 02/03/2009 07:40

Sounds a bit like my night CSWS. I KNEW telling you that I had a couple of good nights would jinx it. It's been rubbish ever since.

I can't get ds to settle in the Amby so I bring him in with me because it's easier and I want some sleep, but I'm sure that he feeds more next to me becuase he can smell the milk and it's killing my back.

Just curious, those of you who are breast feeding and whose dhs are working, does dh get involved in any of the night stuff on a work night, or is that your job?

Marthasmama · 02/03/2009 08:20

I am very lucky as my DH gets out of bed to pick M up when she cries. He will also change her nappy if it needs doing (very rare these days, she has stopped night pooing). He will sit up with me while I feed her too. In the early days he would try to get her off to sleep and send me to the spare room to get some sleep. I do return the favour though. I often make sure I get to M before she starts getting too noisy so he can sleep through or I give him a lie-in at the weekend. None of my friend's husbands/partners do this. Only one of my friends is still breast feeding and her bloke is shockingly bad. She essentially a single mum blese her.

star6 · 02/03/2009 08:32

Both DH and I are working, but night soothing still seems to be my job... He's a good guy, helps out a lot... but often sleeps in the living room lately (not so cozy, but he's sleeping through!)

jenwa · 02/03/2009 08:42

Been poorly again! Think its gastritis. Been sick this morning, went to bed feeling sick and thought it would pass

MM You have a fab DH, send him here please!!!! My DH has got better, he was not great in the beginning. he said he had forgot what to do funny that as I had NOT!! Or had no choice!!!

Marthasmama · 02/03/2009 08:48

I know Jenwa, he's a poppet. I keep telling him that I am very lucky. Sorry to hear you're still feeling ill. Gastritis is horrible I had it from drinking too much and it was agony! Pepto sorted me right out if it is the same thing.
I keep telling my friend that we should swap DHs a) so she can have a break and b) so he can see that his DW is an angel. She gets up in the night with her DS, then gets up to make DH breakfast and make his lunch. She does EVERYTHING and her DH just goes out drinking.

heather1980 · 02/03/2009 09:50

well, dh and i had this very arguement yesterday. when dd was born he did loads but with ds he does very little.
alex was crying yesterday and he couldn't console him and i shouted at him for not spending time with him and he didn't know him really bad i know but i am tired of doing everything.
bad night here too, i'm trying to get alex in his cot and out of my bed. after an hour i gave in and he fell straight to sleep. this was at 2am so i am very tired today.
i have no idea how to wim this battle. i even threatened to quit bf and switch to ff i wont but the sleeplessness is getting to me

hedgepig · 02/03/2009 10:27

morning, it sounds like the Oct babies really thought 5:30 was a good time to play this morning yawn isn't it so cute the way they lie there kicking away and grinning at you

We had a good night 2 nights ago and then it has been particularly bad for the last 2, I think it is his teeth, they have been grumbling for what seems like 2 months now, when will they ever come through! My DH tries to help at night but is just so dozzy he can't function. I think that he has to go to work and I'm on maternity leave so it's best if I get up, but I certainly don't make his breakfast !

Hi all,

Not great night CSWS. My back's aching and I'm knackered. I'm going to see the osteopath for myself next week, he said he should be able to help. He wants me ideally in bra and pants for first consultation tho and it's weird cos he's not a stranger anymore and I have a jelly belly, getting nervous just thinking about it, is that weird after I've had a baby?????

MyJob, Naomi looks gorgeous!

DH does bathtime every night and cooks tea every night. He has to work loads of hours on marking and writing assignments as he works in a college so he doesn't have as much time to help as I'd like, esp recently

heather Switiching to formula may not mean DH will help....trust me DH still slept through and when he did get the hinnt would go get a bottle and then give to me whilst he suddenly needed the loo strange that if he needed it he never woke up to go!

honeymoon you are very lucky, not many men would do that every night, I know DH would not entertain that!

MY Dh took both kids to McDonalds to meet his parents and his bro SIL and Nephews. Basically he said he would take both then just got dd1 ready, when I asked him about dd2 he said "oh you never gave me any promts you wanted me to take her when I said it" Doh, saying it just means it surely anyway, he took them both and never had to do anything with his parnets there then let dd1 go to his parents all day like he did sat too! He gets stressed and I wonder why as he does not have to do anything!
I did get dd1 back and made her a sandwich and MIL said there was no need as she had eaten 5-6 slices of ham and had a yoghurt and some chocolate so would not need anything else as had eaten loads there I said she needed a sandwich/bread! dd1 has now had loose poo's today as a result of an overload of ham again! Am I being stupid to think ham and yoghurt is not a good meal??? MIL says she ate lots and always says that but they obv dont give her the right stuff. They said she ate well last week 4-5 coctail sausages and a piece of bread....aghhhh!!! WTF!!!!

Bit of a rant there, sorry, just got back from dd2 having injections and she sad, DD1 asking for the moon on a stick and me feelin pants with not even a call/txt from DH to see if ok
blah!

jenwa · 02/03/2009 14:57

honeymoon Yeh, sorry,I know how you feel re wobbly bits! like myjob suggested shorts and vest top maybe? Surely he wont expect sexy undies

Honeymoonmummy · 02/03/2009 15:34

Oh Jenwa I'm sorry to hear you're having such a hard time, that isn't a proper meal at all IMO, I know I'm v lucky woith DH but would judt like a bit of a break sometimes if he had more time to take heer for a walk, esp with my achiness and not sleeping, he only in college and only paid for 3 days a week but he working 7 at the moment

Am I wrong to automativally feed when Poppy wakes in thje night? Should I be trying to rock back to sleep more often? Self- soothing doesn't happen
