CC Sorry your DH not being great, it does make you cross and totally agree with others that Dh would not get any sex if was like that! It does put you off, especially when they not helping and being grumpy when they not the ones doing anything and expect sex!

honeymoon we had a double when dd2 born but dont use anymore, was SIL but to be honest DD1 too heavy and would be too heavy one side as SS2 very light inthe otherside.
Dont like ones were baby is underneat, think its a shame not to see baby and close to floor etc, someones baby nearly slipped out once! The one we used was a side by side but not too big and folded umbrella style.

Off to ball pit with friend and DDs in mo. Feeling better today, no more sickness!

Honeymoonmummy · 03/03/2009 13:51

Aubergenie, I know exactly what u mean re Ikea, it's like some kind of Narnia-like place (only opposite)

I've had blood results, I have a borderline underactive thyroid so have to have another blood test in a month.

MyJob, good luck with the weigh-in, I'm sure it will be fine!

Dorset is too far, I'm "oop North" in Cheshire. Will have a look at that link tho, thanks.

Marthasmama · 03/03/2009 14:11

Oooo HMM, do you think you'll have another one soonish then? How exciting, maybe we'll be in the same ante-natal group too, that's if these five weeks on my own don't put me off.

Do your babies go into their cots for daytime naps? I still can't get M to do that and she will only sleep on me. I've trying to get lots of jobs done today but every time I think she'll go off in her cot she screams the house down. Now she's really grumpy and tired!

Ekka · 03/03/2009 15:02

MM - no luck with naps in cot, only in his bouncy chair or on me & never longer than about 30 mins at a time....

HMM - sorry to hear about the blood tests. We have a double ABC Zoom I love it, but you need a huge car for it!!!! Its no wider than a single but obviously quite long.... Its easy to push once you're used to the length & I love that you can have the seats in all sorts of combinations - I have ds in the carrycot facing me & dd in the seat behind him also facing me (unless she asks to sit forward facing). Its not the kind of buggy for public transport though!!!!

Myjob - I can sympathise re weight gain, ds was weighed today & he's 13lb 7oz, one oz less than he weighed 3 weeks ago & is feeding every 2 hrs for the last month or so . HV reckons we'll reassess in 2 weeks. Hopefully Naomi has done better than Matthew!

I didn't do very well so far with dairy free as dh brought me tea & porridge this am which I wolfed down before remembering I'm supposed to be off milk .

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/03/2009 15:35

Stick some oat milk in the fridge Ekka, and get him to make porridge with that tomorrow instead.

Have just added pic of ds sitting up by himself to fb group. He is it seems a week or so ahead of his sister .

No idea re doubles - dd didn't really use the pushchair much after about 18 months, and almost never since she turned 2.

Occasionally a short (25 mins) nap in cot, but at the moment is liking them on me, and still waking frequently during them, just like at night.

I never know what to do for holidays since having children. Wish that someone could just present me with a perfect solution.

Didn't have jabs this afternoon after all. I turned up for 2:40 appt to be told that they had it down as 9:40 this morn, and there's no nurse in this afternoon. Rescheduled for Monday.

Oh, forgot to say that I tried ds in his own room last night. He still woke just as much and I got bored of getting up to go to him, so brought him back in with me around 2 or 3am.

My stats, what do you need? Ryan was born at 7.35 am on 5 October after a 3 day labour. I had a lovely natural birth in hospital, though I had planned a home birth (the transfer must have jolted my body into action). He weighed 6lb 11oz.

I can't see a new thread, is there one?

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/03/2009 19:21

Not yet CC - will prob start it later tonight. If you get on before then, can you tell me when Ryan's due date was?

MM I've got an 18 month age gap in my head at the moment, but don't say anything on FB about that! This however means starting trying in 5 months which seems very soon!!!

Sorry to hear about your sleep again CSWS, I know you are counting the pennies but have you tried a cranial osteopath?

The car arrived, a new fiesta, it's lovely but the boot only just gets our M & P pliko in with v little spare room for shopping, we def wouldn't fit anything bigger in there so need to rethink. Altho from the sounds of it CSWS we may not need it if Poppy is 18 months? What about the rest of you with older kids? When did they stop using buggies?

CSWS where do u get oat milk from? They didn't have any in Tesco.

MM Poppy only sleeps in her cot if I put her there already asleep.

I've had a lovely afternoon with DH and Poppy, we went to Mothercare in Chester and Frankie and Benny's, Poppy LOVED it in there - she's been in a great mood today!!

What's TTC?

I also BFed in Frankie and Benny's. At the table [ridiculously proud of myself emoticon]

Honeymoonmummy · 03/03/2009 20:31

Oh my god MyJob yes!!! My friend who had her baby last week was only 3.5 months behind me, we went to preg yoga together and it seems like ages between the two births!!!

Honeymoonmummy · 03/03/2009 20:38

Trying to conceive? Just got it!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/03/2009 20:40

ttc = trying to conceive

He's seen a cranial osteopath hmm. And one of my good friends is a chiropractor specialising in pregnant women and babies. She had a 'fiddle' with him at new year, and checked him over again at the weekend, but said he seemed to be in tip top condition then . He has been sick quite a bit lately, so I've tried to give him some gaviscon tonight in case that is part of the problem, but he spat a fair bit of it back out. tbh I think that he's just forgotten how to resettle himself after his growth spurt. I haven't sussed a solution for that though!

I think that dd is the exception in giving up her buggy quite so young hmm. She was an early walker (before 11 months) and always very stroppy independent. Where we live also means that we have to drive everywhere, so there's no walking to town type trips to do.

Have you any plans for how long you want to bf hmm? Just thinking that if you want to be pregnant again when poppy is only 9 months, then you'll want your periods back by then, which doesn't always happen, esp if still bf.

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 03/03/2009 20:48

Have started the NEW THREAD ladies. See you there!

OP posts:
Ekka · 03/03/2009 20:57

Hmm, I think that it depends on the nature of your child as to whether you'll need a double. Dd was an early walker, but she likes running away and I do a lot of walking along a busy road so its tricky at the moment. But if you are confident about slings you could have the new baby in the sling for a few months then move it to the buggy and Poppy use a buggy board?

CSWS, funnily enough, my periods came back at 5 months last time, while dd was still fully bf, we'd not even started weaning then. I'm wondering if that is why Matthew's weight has stalled? Still, he was cheerful enough tonight and decided to chat to me after his nighttime feed. So I put him in his cot with the mobile on and he fell asleep by himself .

Now, the HV advised me to make sure he feeds every 2 hrs, which I'm ok with during the day, but do you reckon I should really wake him to feed at night? I have a feeling that this might be an academic question, given he tends not to sleep more than 2 hours at a stretch, but I'm not keen on actually waking him to feed (if I could) unless he was really lethargic/sleepy all the time and obviously starving....

aubergenie · 03/03/2009 21:01

OOh all this talk of TTC is making me broody too! I would like to pop another one out before I'm too old, but I want to carry on BFing for at least a year.

CSWS - I just watched your video of ds - it's so sweet! What a great laugh he's got.

Honeymoonmummy · 03/03/2009 21:30

Yeah I was thinking about that CSWS. I'd be happy giving up at 9 months I think, esp as I'll probably be going back to work around then. Altho it'll be really hard when it comes to it! I can't conceive how it will feel when she's rooting and I refuse her, it will BREAK my heart!!!

I would say not during the night Ekka.
