Yup, sick again. Doesn't feel particularly speedy pistachio, as she was first sick on Friday. At least need us all to be well for her party on Saturday!

OP posts:
heather1980 · 03/02/2009 20:58

my dd reacted to medised as well, but she has sort of 'grown' into it and it doesn't bother her anymore.
well i feel like a bad mummy, i have given alex a dummy i really didn't want to but he spends literally all evening on the boob and i wanted a break, i don't have sore nipples or anything but it was wearing me down. i think i will only use it when i need a break, i don't want him to get attached to it coz i hate the things.
star don't feel sad, have you considered therapy?

loulou33 · 03/02/2009 21:22

Couldn't work out why no one had posted on thread since 9 am this morning and then i realised - doh!!

my ds1 is another that can't take medised - when i have given it, he has been awake all night, literally - will not risk trying it with Joe.

Joe waking every 3 hours at night again and is absolutely starving each time. Will try to get him weighed tomorrow but may have to give him some solids - don't know if it will help him settle more at night but am at a loss as to how to get him back in to his routine. i can't maange on so little sleep - last night i had a max of 4 hours but broken up so feel like s**t. Hoping tomight will be better as both boys at home tomorrow

Star - i'm sorry that sex was so bad. i think it can take a while for your lady bits to get back to normal, moisture wise - sorry if tmi. this can make it very sore and you may well be anticiapting it being sore and tensing up a lot (not suprising considering the birth expereince you had) and the fact that sex was sore beforehand won't help. The flashbacks bit sounds horrible - no wonder you don't want to have sex again. I know the counsellor you saw was not up to it but have to pursued another therapist instead?? It may be worth talking to your gp again and asking for a referral to specialist in sexual health. You deserve the opportunity to have a sex life if you want one and there's no reason why you can't if you want to....oh and if dh loves you i'm sure he'll wait for a while, its only been a few months after all. Hope it works out for you sweetie.

Myjob - glad Naomi's better and more her usual self. Did you say your in-laws live in Devon?? We always go down for a week or two in the summer to take over my mum's house - its great having relatives with seaside homes!!

sorry for mammoth post - off to bed now

SexyLacyKnickersOnMaHead · 04/02/2009 00:57

Ah, another new thread, another 'promise' of me keeping up this time

Hope everyone is ok and hope all poorly babies get well soon.

Couple of updated pics on profile

pepperrabbit · 04/02/2009 09:48

Morning all,
star I definitley think you should find another counsellor, talking your birth experience through with someone can be a great help if you have been traumatised by it - then you may need a joint session so DH understands just how much it has affected you - I'm not sure he really knows from what you have said? He also needs to understand that this is normal and other couples go through it. We didn't have sex for a whole year after DS1 because I just couldn't face it. HTH.
On the subject of Medised - my DS's are fine but my niece (nearly 3) goes hyper and just bounces around like a duracell bunny! so it does seem to affect some children like that.
Had a very slippery walk to school this morning - luckily my mum stopped by and stayed in wih DS2 & DD - but not lloking forward to the trip to pre-school at lunchtime - do you think a sling or buggy would be safer?? I think buggy would be v diff to push through the snow and ice but if I fell with her in a sling she'd be hurt. Can't decide

Honeymoonmummy · 04/02/2009 09:48

Nice pics and I love the new name Sexy!!

Poppy and I are feeling better but still a bit sniffly. We were supposed to start a postnatal mother and baby yoga course this morning with the woman I did antenatal yoga with, but I don't think its fair to spread our germs. Gutted

Hope you're feeling better today Star.

How's it going MyJob?

Loulou, did you get more sleep last night?

Heather, were you really anti-dummies? Poppy just won't take to one, so I got me a thumb-sucker.

It's DH's birthday today and I've just realised I've got nothing from his little girl, doh! Anyone got any ideas? It's gonna have to be an argos or H Samuel job I think!

Hi All, haha found you I did go in to ante natel looking then realised we already did that bit!

star poor you, it will get better in time. It is so scary and the last thing you rememeber is what happened down there. Believe me, look at us on here, there is proof that you do get over it and have more , it just really does take time and I know its a horrible thought but the more you do actaully do it the worse it becomes. Just take time and without being TMI just maybe go back to basics without the full intercourse IYSWIM sorry, but it was helpful after dd1 and a 3rd degree tear, just getting used to things very slowley.

myjob your DC are soooooo lovely. They look so alike in the last pic and wow at Naomi's hair! Phoebe's is usually sticking up at the back and has a bold patch where she has been lying on it!
Yes it was me who had DD's injections, they are both fab now and again slept right through. had to wake DD2 at 8am Just very lucky to have good sleepers but prob bottle fed makes it easier?

been ebaying yesterday, got rid of lots of clothes, sad to see them go but dont think will have anymore. Cant keep incase as we said 2 was enough for us. If we have an accident then will have to deal with that but I am not planning it! Thinking about a coil, bit scared though!

have sore throat today and cant speak properly.

Have not been on MN for ages and was very surprised and confused with the new look! Managed to find you all though. Just back from Ireland and now I have done 4 flights with Sander I can confirm that even the threat of getting onto a plane causes some really BAAAD nappies. I now bring at least 3 changes of clothes for him and even some for me.

myjob I am shocked that Naomi is only just out of newborn clothes. Sander is 19weeks and is into some 6-9 mth things. I think he must be a real porker but he is very cute and cuddly

After planning to go back to work April time I just found out that my job has gone in a 'restructure'. How come that seems to happen when you are out of the office on maternity The glass half full view of this is at least I will be able to spend more time with my little angel. When he is not grizzling of course! Oh, and more time on MN!

Hope everyone is coping with the snow

heather1980 · 04/02/2009 15:51

honeymoon- yes i hate dummies, i can't see his beautiful face but he has been more settled with one, my dd is a thumb sucker, she was 30 minutes old the first time she did it!

lozza alex is in some 6-9 month stuff too, he's really long though, mainly sleep suits and vests.

we are planning a 3rd baby, prob not until alex is 2 i think and dd is in school, she's 3 in october and due to start pre school in sept, but not sure if i should send her, i've been taking alex to a baby yoga class and putting her in creche and she hates it, and gets really upset. so i might stop going i did the same class with dd and she loved it.

jenwa · 04/02/2009 17:52

myjob I am in worcester (midlands)
Did think would be fab to try all meet up around their 1st b'day if poss, would be great to see everyone. Would be good to see if they look alike too, although P would def be the porkier one abit like lozzas boy
lozzapoor you with work, does it mean the job has completely gone? They have to offer you something don't they?
heather DD1 started preschool last year. She was 2 in the Oct and went in the jan, she cried to begin with but loves it now. Have upped her hours now . Creche can be very different. The preschool DD goes to is run by a bunch of ladies who have always been there, sometimes creches have younger people who are there until something else/college break etc so not consistent enough. That is what people I know have generally said. Be good to get her used to something as School is such a sudden shock. Also a shame not to spend that time with alex alone and enjoy your baby yoga class.

Mum coming over tonight to help out DD's in bath as she not been over when P in bath and she splashes!!!! Mum will get wet

Also bit miffed as someone was meant to collect an item today at 4 and emailed at 5 to say could her mum collect between 7-8, its not a hassle but when I was hanging about waiting not knowing whether to start tea or do bottles etc it was!

Anyway, best go but lets think about a meeting in Oct hey we could book a spa and NO children allowed haha!

heather1980 · 04/02/2009 18:08

jenwa the creche is at the local surestart centre so it's the same staff all the time, they are all older ladies unlike the nursery at the centre which seems to be run by 15 year olds (or so it seems to me!)
i might try one more session and decide then

Lozza70 · 04/02/2009 18:27

jenwa unfortunately the job I left has gone completely. I could apply for a max of 2 new jobs but if I did not get either of them I would be made redundant. So I have decided to stay on maternity leave as long as I can (Oct time) and see what is around then. This way at least I get a bonus I was due to be paid in March. On the positive side I get to be around more in the summer and with, hopefully, better weather Sander and I can get out for loads of walks!

CherryChoc · 04/02/2009 18:49

Pepper, I always use the buggy because it feels if I slipped at least I'd have something to hold onto IYSWIM. If it was proper snow though (rather than ice/slush) I would probably use the sling - snow is quite grippy to walk on really.

I am in Warwick if anyone is local

Just been to get Ryan weighed today - he is 13lb 8oz now. His weight gain has slowed and looks really dramatic on the chart but I have got the breastfeeding chart from the kellymom website and have printed that out and been plotting his weight on there as well and it looks much less alarming! They want me to give him baby rice if he hasn't picked up next month, but I don't see the point, he is happy, alert, definitely not wasting away. I think this particular HV was a bit early weaning trigger-happy anyway because the other one was like "Oh, well, yes, maybe if he doesn't pick up next month we could consider it."

Did anyone watch that Girls and Boys Alone last night? Made me

Heather, Ryan sucked his fist in utero but has only just worked out how to get one thumb/finger in his mouth at once and now seems to prefer his dummy. I was a bit anti dummy to begin with but he just seemed to need one - he would never comfort suck at the breast and my poor fingers were getting raw!

Hugs to star, that sounds awful, please tell him how you feel. And it might be months or even years but I am sure you will have sex again. Second the suggestion of therapy too - maybe some kind of sex/couple therapy to help your DH understand if he's not very good at that? Ignore me if I am being too forward.

Myjob so glad N is feeling better! csws hope you are all feeling better soon.
