Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Eddas · 22/01/2009 15:52

i just had a call from dd's teacher asking if dh had collected her. Apparently she just walked out when she went to get her coat and the teacher was worried she was lost Some of them mums said they'd seen dd with dh but dh hadn't answered his mobile when she tried to check so she called me. So I called dh and she was with him and then called the school back to let them know. I think a talk is required when I get in and I'd imagine the teacher will have word too! Not a great start to going fulltime.

cazboldy · 22/01/2009 19:33

Eddas

hope you're feeling better tody xxxxx

Dippy Oh dear

I have had a shit day

first of all my the front part of my exhaust blew

then Molly came over very poorly all of a sudden, was literally fine one minute, and ill the next, cue me panicking and rushing to the doctors. She has tonsillitis

then I get an electricity bill for £529 for 4 months

Northernlurker · 22/01/2009 19:48

Oh Caz that is grim!

And Dippy too - never mind - it will grow back and it's not your fault!

Eddas - I actually think that shows great confidence on the part of your dd - she knows where she's going alright!

I've had quite a tiring day at work but 22/01 is always a good day here as it's dd2's birthday. This time 8 years ago I was home with my new baby girl

Not an entirely wonderful day though - I could have done without the letter from nursery today saying the fees are going up by £2 a day. Ugh!

Doobydoo · 22/01/2009 20:35

Oh Caz how frightening re Molly...really hope antibs kick in soon[if she has 'em]
That sounds awful re elek bill do you think it is accurate?
We twice had hideous ones in 2 differnt places we rented it was night storage heaters and I had to pay back in installments they were so massive.Sorry about your car as wellI wish I could help.If I ever have money I bloody would!

Dippy,oh dear.It will be of no help but I will type it anyway.Ds1 spent about 5 days with half a shaved head when he was 3 as he would not let dp do other half[we shaved it due to nits as he wouldn't have it cut]

Dooby, bless you How is M? xx

Dippy, over dd1's hair!

Ange, lovely to see you

All ok here, although dh and I feel rough as sh** with head-colds.

elkiedee · 22/01/2009 21:22

Caz, sorry about Molly and eek at your electricity bill.

Getting very bored here. The most exciting point of the day was having the biggest front room radiator finally restored to proper working order for the first time in years(it's a big room with 3 of them). First over 2 years ago it didn't work, and the British Gas Service cover guy didn't actually mend it at all though claimed he had. Then, a while later, another one came and got it to work but not the thermostat, so it was only on at absolute full blast or not at all. One thing when it's this cold but another when it's just a cold spring day (I still think it played a part in Danny's dehydration/hospital admisssion at a week old and all that followed, as he was left sleeping in his pram right next to it for ages).

CD, your DD's hair will grow again.

CaptainDippy · 22/01/2009 22:19

Yey to working radiators!

Oh Caz, Hope Molly is better soon - have they given you anti-b's? I would give you the money if I had it too - no consolation, but the thought is there xx

I am shattered, has been a real "day if it", off to bed .....

zazas · 22/01/2009 22:23

Hello Ladies - just catching up and wanted to say a big congratulations to Oooggs on her wee boy, While I am here good luck to the other pregnant ones especially elkie - it will be you so soon. I have had a rush of babies born this week - family and friends - not mine and newborns are so delicious!

SOL - thinking of you and your Mother - wishing for the best.
Dippy - I bet that was a shock but luckily hair will grow back!!!
Northernlurker - I think we have 3 DC the same ages - 10 / 7 and 1 - your posts mirror my like often!
Just a big hello to al the others - brain too muddled.

All well here S is doing great, although she constantly is telling us that she "has done it" and we then spend the next 10 mins wondering what she has done as it usually involves the bin - which was funny the first fifty times but now....!!!!!

CaptainDippy · 22/01/2009 22:26

Hey zazas >

Right. Bed.

cazboldy · 23/01/2009 11:37

Where is everyone??

Zaza's lovely to see you. Glad S is doing well.

POTC, hope you have a lovely weekend. How is J?

SPB, how are you feeling?

Oooggs, hope all is going well with you and yours xx

No sign of Elkie today......

All ok here.

Northernlurker · 23/01/2009 18:47

I'm here - knackered after a hectic day at work. I had no time for lunch so just ate jelly babies - which was a mistake when a sugar high the size of Australia hit me when I was trying to concentrate on some forms.....

SOL - any further job news?

I've had to make a dentist appointment...I have toothache

Northernlurker · 23/01/2009 18:54

Just to be clear - the toothache and the jelly babies are not related.

The toothache is produced by a crack in a filling which has re-opened and allowed a nerve in my tooth/mouth to become very sensitive. Sometimes it doesn't hurt - sometimes it's agony!

cazboldy · 23/01/2009 19:02

oh poor you NL toothache is terrible.... when have you got an appt?

Northernlurker · 23/01/2009 19:25

Tuesday - it's not constant - which is how I think it's a sensitivity/nerve thing rather than an infection type thing - so for instance right now it doesn't hurt at all. But when it hurts it really, really hurts and I've waited a week for it to settle and it hasn't so I need to be brave.

Off for a bath now

Sexonlegs · 23/01/2009 20:19

Hi chaps.

No news on the job front. I have an application in, but the closing date is not until the 29th Jan, so I magine I will not hear anything until after then. I hope I get an interview, as the job is exactly what I do now.

Hope the toothache eases.

Caz, how is M?

Luce, don't know if you are lurking, but are you all settled now?

MJreturns · 23/01/2009 20:42

Hi all

SOL, glad your mums first chemo day went ok for her, long may it continue
Hope you get good news with the job interview. If you do the same sort of job already then you must meet all the criteria so you should get an interview I would think. Good luck with it, hope you get rid of your cold soon xxx

POTC, have a fab weekend with Pesha, hope J feels better soon

CD, at least her hair will grow back and there was no real harm done with the scissors. Don't feel guilty, it's happened to many a parent. One of the girls in ds's class chopped her hair off a while back and her mum was mortified but it soon grew back!

NL, ouch to toothache. I have a dental appointment the week after next. I went for a check up recently and have a tiny hole in one of my wisdom teeth which needs filling. Hopefully it can get done before the hole gets much bigger! I hate the dentist.

Caz, hope Molly is ok this evening. Tonsillitis is just horrible xxx

Oooggs, hope you are feeling ok today. Hormones can be really mean things. Be kind to yourself. Hope you have plenty of help just now, take care xxx

That's it, brain emptied, especially after just working two long days. We have a new unit opening in about a month so I went for a nose around it today and it is fab! I won't be working in it as I am staying well and truly put, but looking around it made me wonder whether pastures new might be an idea!

elkiedee · 23/01/2009 20:43

I'm here, no news. I'm already starting to think about the argument at my 41 week consultant's appointment.

SOL, good luck with the job application.

oooggs · 23/01/2009 21:02

Bloody hell this is hard work!!!!

I LOVE the thread title and I have only just noticed

Luke is extremely easy but feeds most of the night but as I am still managing to bf I just let him get on with it.

The children are all smitten, not sure how long that will last with dts though

Just about to try and do birth thingy and upload a photo so I will be back.

Sorry for lack of personals

oooggs · 23/01/2009 21:10

managed the photo but ds3 (that seems really weird) wants my attention

Sexonlegs · 23/01/2009 21:14

Gorgeous pic Oooggs! Lovely to see you. xx

MJ, lovely to see you too. How are you coping with your dh on nights?

Off to bed soon - how sad am I!!! Feel pants still.
