original - the traditional 'bubbles' smell

chipkid · 21/01/2009 12:23

pillock of the community-my dd was diagnosed with a hernia in November-she is booked in for surgery early february-think you should make some calls 8 months seems a long time to wait.

chipkid · 21/01/2009 12:24

sorry for the hijack-congratulations-love the name. (I have a Luke too)

CaptainDippy · 21/01/2009 13:22

Hello all - have had a text from oooggs today,, she says Luke is very sleeping, but she is determined and BFing is going well

StealthPo09IsHere · 21/01/2009 13:27

She's home, I think ....

Eddas · 21/01/2009 16:24

glad he's doing well oooggs

DD made me pmsl today, we were in Tesco and she spotted a girl with 'her' school uniform on, a bigger girl and one she didn't know. She unzipped her coat quick sharp, puffed out her chest and revealed her school jumper as if it were a badge of honor or something she was so excited that she'd seen someone from her school the other little girl just looked bemused!! I told the mother that dd'd just started and was rather excited by it all!!!!!!

I spoke to her teacher today and dd was thrilled at being told shecan try going fulltime tomorrow, she's had her packed lunch planned out since monday(she was starting fulltime on monday but it's been brought forward!) am very of dh who will be at home tomorrow to reep the non-chattering rewards of dd being at school all day though he may well get a tired stroppy madam at home after school! I'm not sure which is worse

Sexonlegs · 21/01/2009 17:29

runnyhabbit · 21/01/2009 17:57

evening all

Wonderful news about oooggs. does make me feel kind of nostalgic

Have been feeling rather crappy lately, but put down to extra hours/not enough sleep. Turns out I have a water infection. Nice. Sorry if tmi

Not much else to report here. Builders start work here in 2 weeks, just after mine and dh weekend away (which I am very much looking forward too)

StealthPo09IsHere · 21/01/2009 18:14

oh eddas that's lovely - nice that she is enjoying it!
runny, sorry about your infection, hope you're feeling better soon

CaptainDippy · 21/01/2009 18:46

Awww, Eddas - gotta love your DD

leakyR · 21/01/2009 20:28

How cute of dd Eddas. It's great when they're little and love BIG school. I speak not from parenting viewpoint, but as a jaded ex-teacher.

Slightly better night - G woke at 4am yelled and created until we brought him in with us about 4.40. Then just messed about giving kisses and standing up in bed. Dh put him back in his cot at about 5.10 and he eventually went over at 5.45. 15 mins before dh's alarm goes off He then slept until 7.30. I hope this isn't a long term thing and only lasts as long as his cold.

My back is sore as I've been shopping and to playgroup today. Tried to sort out house as NCT coffee is here tomorrow. Eeeek! It's my first one. I can already hear George shouting "nononono, minemineminemine" whenever anyone goes near his toys

CaptainDippy · 21/01/2009 20:38

Hey! Hey! Leaky! enjoy your NCT coffee tomorrow, you are very brave!! Hope you don't have another rude awakening tomorrow morning - those are yuk!!

oooggs · 21/01/2009 21:20

evening all home now and still shattered!!!!

thanks for all the congrats

just bookmarking really and will post properly tomorrow when I am not so tired

we arrived home about 6.30pm this evening - I am in state of shock - and wondering how in the world I am going to cope - hormones kicking in as I feel really tearful

AngeG · 21/01/2009 21:28

Hi Oooggs Congratulations again!

Bless you. May I send you a {{{hug}}}? Has your DH got some time off or is your Mum around? It's times like this I wish we lived closer so I could come round and give you a hug...and cuddle baby D of course. xx

Sexonlegs · 21/01/2009 21:32

Oooggs So pleased for you flower xx
Welcome home and back to MN!

Eddas, your dd sounds so like B! Really glad she is having such a wonderful experience of school.

Leaky, good luck tomorrow!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Exhausted here. Stress of the job situ, and the fact that Mum started her chemo today. She phoned a little while ago to let me know how she got on bless her heart, and so far so good.

Anyway, sorry for the total lack of personals, and will vow to do better xx

AngeG · 21/01/2009 21:38

Hi SOL

Sorry about your job situation. Any luck looking for something new? How lovely of your Mum to phone. Thinking of you xx

AngeG · 21/01/2009 21:39

Typical that there's hardly anyone here when I'm on my own and spending the evening on MN!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 21/01/2009 22:16

I'm here now

J not well, bloody nightmare.

Northernlurker · 22/01/2009 09:27

just at work so got to be quick -

oooggs - this is your hormones talking - you will cope fine. I had horrid baby blues when B was about five dyas old - cried all day and thought I'd ruined everything and would never manage. It passes!

CaptainDippy · 22/01/2009 10:00

You have ever right to feel the way you do; and trust me - you will feel heaps better in a few days once things have settled down a little. Take as much rest as you can my sweet. xx

Glad all's gone well so far with your mum, SOL. xx

I am very very this am as my DD1 has no hair. She's hacked it off off with scissors. DD2's hair is not so bad, quite lop-sdided, but passable. DD1 looks just awful. Awful. I feel so guilty.

Eddas · 22/01/2009 13:46

{{{{{{{{{oooggs}}}}}}}}} hope you are able to get some rest

Cd omg did she do her's and dd2's? i'd be very sad if dd did that to her hair too. make her wear a badge telling everyone she did it to herself. Is there much left? I'm guessing from your fb status that there isn't

sol, hope you are ok keep strong.

I wonder if dd's enjoying her lunch at school? Actually, she'd have finished it by now. The teacher said to let her know in the mornign if dd was staying for lunch, i'm working though so told dh to just have a quick word and let them know. I called him just after 9 and he said he didn't bother as dd ran straight over to her teacher and showed her the lunchbox and told her she was staying for lunch!!!! my child is not shy that's for sure

StealthPo09IsHere · 22/01/2009 13:48

oooggs, welcome home, sorry you're feeling tearful, but hope it will pass soon.
Dippy to hair

2HotCrossBunsAnd1InTheOven · 22/01/2009 13:57

oooggs welcome home! As others have said I'm sure the "overwhelmed" feeling will pass soon. Hope you have some help for the next few days!

CD - at the hair! I played "hairdressers" with my brother when I was 4 ish and him 2 ish and chopped his long straight blond hair to above the ear - on 1 side only! My mum still has the photos and we still laugh about it.

I had my scan today. All fine and I've been re-dated to 28 July from 8 August. Good news!!
