Hello all! Lots of snow here and DD's school closed so we are just hunkering down for the day. DH has had to go to Stratford on Avon for a meeting, so I hope he gets back okay. I have to go to Sussex tomorrow which is a bugger, but at least no plans for today. I just wish I had been efficient enough to get a sledge! The snow isn't really sticky enough to do a snowman . . .

Some snow here but not arctic conditions like you southern lot School and nursery open so I'm at work ok. We went down to Lincolnshire alright yesterday but had a hairy journey back. On one high up bit of the A1 the snow was falling so hard that the tracks of the car in front of us were obliterated in front of our eyes! We got home ok though - dh and I were very, very pleased to see our house!

StealthPo09IsHere · 02/02/2009 15:22

OOOH GLAD YOU GOT BACK ok nl!
Sorry
Arctic conditions here, not gone to my course this afternoon and off tomrorow as well. DS has had me up (ish) since 2.30, I only dozed a bit between then and 7. He'd better sleep well tongiht

StealthPo09IsHere · 02/02/2009 15:23

SNOW

Sexonlegs · 02/02/2009 16:46

Afternoon ladies

Ellie, how is J?

Elkie, sorry you and dp are having a spot of bother Hope you are ok. How was the appointment?

Hope everyone is ok.

Had a fab time in Madrid, although it started snowing on Sunday and our flight was delayed by 3 hours! Got home at 7.15 and put the girls to bed. Inlaws were great and had even cooked us roast chicken for dinner!!!

Tonnes of snow here today. B's school was about the only one open which she was not pleased about. Got in to work ok, but the roads were pretty slippy.

elkiedee · 02/02/2009 17:21

Well, my appointment was a little more exciting than I expected. The consultant reckoned there's no need for the induction discussion when he examined me and found I'm already dilating. He sent me down to the Maternity Day Unit for monitoring because the heartbeat and blood pressure were a bit strange - and that was fine, only, "you're having quite a lot of contractions". I'm glad it wasn't just me who thought I was finally getting to feel real contractions!

I've finished packing my case, I think, my dad is on his way round to look after ds. I want to say hi to ds whom dp will pick up from his childminder about 5.30 pm, and I've rung the labour ward to warn them to expect me at some point this evening.

If anyone wants to send me a phone no on Facebook, I'll try and text or get news texted out when there is any. I've had to replace my phone so don't currently have any MN phone numbers on it.

Ooh Elkie, good luck!! xx

Hi Caz, SPB and Runny

Northernlurker · 02/02/2009 18:29

Oh thats great news Elkie! Good Luck - keep moving, bounce on balls and look at the snow.

Northernlurker · 02/02/2009 18:31

Oh and do you know what - thinking about you and your little one coming into the world has made my day. Heard at work that a patient had died today and it's quite hard because you get to know them really well. I came home feeling sad but thinking about baby Elkie reminds me what an amzing special force love and life has in our lives - and I'm ok now.

cazboldy · 02/02/2009 18:46

SOL, glad you had a good time in Madrid

Very little snow here so far but it is forecast for overnight so we shall see. Always seems to bypass me for some reason.
We got a letter home from school warning us that if the forecast is correct then school will be closed tomorrow. Part of me hopes it snows, then I don't have to get up and dressed so early, I love my pj's!

Doobydoo · 02/02/2009 20:32

SOL..Glad you had a good time
NL..How lovely[well put]
GO Baby Elkie we are rooting for you

Sexonlegs · 02/02/2009 20:37

Ahhh NL, how lovely

It is exciting isn't it? Feel sad that I won't be doing that again, but the thought of more than 2 children to deal with doesn't appeal!

Dooby, have you got a move date? How is the sewage issue?
