Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Aaaarrrrrgh - my dad (who we may need to look after D while I'm in hospital and dp is with me) - just rang for the 2nd time today to check whether there's any news. Now, I know he wants to know but there's nothing I can tell him, if I could I would. I'm not expecting a short labour anyway, even second time around - he's not got to come 200 miles like my mum. I don't expect to go into hospital until several hours after I go into labour if that's what happens, so it should be possible to give him plenty of warning.

I know I'm probably being an ungrateful bitch, I'm sure everyone would tell me I was being deeply unreasonable if I started such a thread, but I'm sooooooo fed up now.

Northernlurker · 29/01/2009 18:37

My dad used to do that too - I would snarl - 'oh yes we had the baby last week but couldn't be bothered to tell you!' That soon shut him up. Just don't answer the phone - put the answerphone on.

Eddas · 29/01/2009 18:46

elkie, you're not being a bitch, I have alot of experience in going overdue and the endless 'so you haven't had it' crap was more annyoing than the going overdue. Many sympathies from me{{{hugs}}}

and I agree with NL, in the extremely unlikely event that I ever have another baby I would refuse induction until I really had to.

CaptainDippy · 29/01/2009 19:02

Ditto here, would definitely refuse induction until it was medically neccesary (or you've got the the "get this bloody thing out of me" stage I was induced with DD2 (medical reasons) and it was not nice. (Putting it politely )

Go fitness regime Eddas

Northernlurker · 29/01/2009 19:05

Eddas - what's your total extra time served ? I've notched up 4 weeks and two days (not that I'm bitter or anything ) I havent't at all brooded on the fact that my friend who also has three kids - two early and one about a day late - has therefore been pregnant for 10 weeks less than me!!! Oh no, I'm not bitter at all.............

CaptainDippy · 29/01/2009 19:08

Think I might be even less than your friend, NL - DDs 1 and 3 both four days over, but DD2 four weeks early!

StealthPo09IsHere · 29/01/2009 19:16

oh elkie you sound a bit down. Surely one previous birth can't set a pattern - this one may be very quick
We're up to 157 messages - I think that by the time we hit 300 you'll be in labour (so about Sunday at this rate)

StealthPo09IsHere · 29/01/2009 19:17

[insane grinning]

Doobydoo · 29/01/2009 19:24

Fingers crossed elkie.Sorry you are feeling low.
Sorry about the job situ Liath.
CAZ...Really hope your sons are doing ok now.
xx
SOl hope your mum is also coping with her shemo and that you are ok.
Thanks all for good wishes re move
I will keep you posted. We are a nightmare of indecision.xx

Doobydoo · 29/01/2009 19:25

[sigh]sorry for typos.Keyboard tricky to see,as in semo darkness...honest

CaptainDippy · 29/01/2009 19:47

Too true Polar - this one might be A LOT quicker ... my 1st birth was 72 hours, 2nd bith doesn't count, but third birth was about 6 hours - start to finish!!

leakyR · 29/01/2009 21:11

Oooh worried now was only in labour 4 and a bit hours with G.

Might not be able to fill the birth pool in time(assuming dh relents and agrees to hb)

leakyR · 29/01/2009 21:19

Quick dh update.

DH has done some reading while in London for work and had a long chat with his sister about her birth experience.
She was very supportive of my hopes for a hwb and he seems to be coming round to the idea. It galls me slightly that this positive attitude seems to come from talking to SIL not me, but I'll take all the help I can get

Have arranged for him to chat to a couple of dps of women who have had hb. Feeling hopeful.

liath · 29/01/2009 21:32

That's sounding hopeful, Leaky

Sexonlegs · 29/01/2009 22:12

Evening

Oooggs, lovely to see you, but sorry to hear of your pain xx

Elkie, not being unreasonable at all my dear It is the most frustrating thing on earth; had the same with B as she was a week over due. Keep the answer machine on. Hope you are ok xx

Ooh Dooby, how exciting that you might be coming to the UK! It is fab here Lincolnshire is lovely imo; we styed with friends near Boston and went to see some lovely seals on the coast.

Hi Liath; where are all the other Scottish gals? Good luck with the job hunting.

Leaky, really pleased your dh is feeling a bit more up for the whb. I had an unplanned hb and it was the most amazing experience of my life. x

Eddas, sounds like you are rushed off your feet. Is dd still enjoying school?

Caz, glad your brood are well. Has M recovered fully?

SPB, how are you doing oh pregnant one?

NL, how are you doing? lol at your orders of sex for Elkie!

Any sign of Pesha and POTC??

All ok here; just really busy. Off to Madrid tomorrow for the weekend with dh and NO DD's! The in-laws are coming down to look after them which is very kind. I am sightly apprehensive as they seem to be getting stressed about it. They phoned tonight to ask a load of stuff, even though we are going to see them tomorrow. I know I shouldn't complain, but I just lack confidence in them
Mum is doing well still which is such good news. She has been taking some tablets this week and then I think she has a break before starting up on the intravenous chemo again.

Anyway, need to get to bed, so see you all on Sunday xx

elkiedee · 29/01/2009 22:29

SOL, hope you enjoy your weekend away and that your ILs cope with your DDs ok.

Don't think I'm likely to get much joy on the sex front even if I felt like it - he just got really cross with me because I said I'd sooner he didn't reboot the PC to try and get a wifi internet connection for his laptop. I said "I'd sooner you didn't" in a perfectly calm tone of voice, response was a tantrum.

Had some twinges earlier but I think baby's teasing.

geordieminx · 30/01/2009 08:10
