Morning all.

Especially LG&T and India.

I will be requiring lengthy cuddles.

I shall be singing Hush Little Baby for the duration.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SKYTVADDICT · 20/02/2009 09:14

Abby - i've never used a bed guard as I believed it would lull them into a false sense of security like you say.

Jam - hope you didn't have too bad a night with L.

DD2 was my worst for tantrums (so far) and we also did a lot of ignoring and couting to 10. Unfortunately at nearly 9 she still has the occasional one. I am hoping they won't rub off on Callum who is only just starting to think about it - he can scream and throw little ones but after DD2 they are insignificant (so far!) .

I am a bit old for the killers - sadly - and he did nothing for me on the brits!

The burlesque outfit did actually fit - more saloon girl really - I think I looked like a blue blob though. Need to get some fishnets now.

AbbyLou · 20/02/2009 09:33

C has only had a handful of tantrums in 4 years but R is the queen of them. I've thought of every reason under the sun - girl thing, 2nd child etc but I really think it's just because she is a feisty little madam. To say she was a big shock after C is an understatement. We tend to ignore her but sometimes C winds her up and then we end up with both of them yelling and us too!!
I'm hoping she'll get it all out of her system before she is 2 and then that'll be it.

largeginandtonic · 20/02/2009 09:58

Aw you are all lovely

Tantrums are fab, he too headbutts random objects or repeately hits himself for added sympathy. I have no idea why, it isn't as if he actually gets any.

He pinches and scratches Indie, a craft boot in the head too if he can reach her. No love there...

We are putting him on the stair, he troops off but sits screaming anyhoo. Not bothered really. I am reading the books but tbhi just have afeeling he will have to work through it.

Jam hope the job hunt is going well.

TYG pmsl at you and A Come and see me whenever you are free. I am busy Weds and Tues next week but thats it. You too AM. Thank you for the lovely phone message

DH joins the ship on Monday, he will be gone all week. In fact he will be away on and off now till his big deployment for 6 months. Joy.

We have had the carpets fitted this week, new kitchen and bathroom lino too! Chaos though,at least the big kids are awaythis week.

Scoot dont want to post details in case fuckwit is snooping. Email me or TYG, she knows what is going on. I am a bit crap with keeping up atm.

Elkie is Conor putting on now? Hope he is ok and you too.

No bugs here MmeJ i really couldn't handle it. The sick and poobuge are the worst.

We went to Frankie and Bernnys last night as the kitchen is out of action, B is still in his clothes from yesterdayas he fell asleep in the car on the way home! In my defence the girl has been wide awake and roaring since 7 and i had to clear dishwasher and tumble dryer for them to lay the lino on top of the nast copydex smelling compound stuff by 830 this morning.

Hoping they are finished by lunchtime and order can be restored.

I collect the big ones tomorrow so further choas will resume. Plus i will become a shoe nazi They will be so pleased.

largeginandtonic · 20/02/2009 10:00

Apols for crappo typing, have new acer notepad and i keep missing spaces! Am also fielding B and rocking Indie

AbbyLou · 20/02/2009 11:42

I can't believe it's the last proper day of the holidays!
I've really enjoyed spending time with the kids this week, we've had some good fun and they are really starting to play very nicely together - some of the time! R has been asleep since 10.30 which is unheard of fo her. She normally sleeps after lunch. I think falling out of bed so many times must have disturbed her sleep bless her.
Tonight they are both staying at the in-laws. Dh and I going out together for a meal, on our own, for the first time in ages. We didn't really celebrate when he got on his course as we were skint so it is that and Valentine's Day as we were away with friends for that.
He is in the process of trying to sell his business at the moment but is having trouble with the franchise company, he thinks they might be trying to rip him off. he's got to keep his wits about him. We klnow the company is not worth much and he only really works at it one day a week now but we need to get a fair price for it in order to subsidise his unqualified teacher salary next year. The probelm is neither of us really have any idea how to work out how much to ask for a company.

AprilMeadow · 20/02/2009 12:03

Abby, when we sold our company last year that selling price was based on 10 x gross profit. I hope that helps

TheGreatScootini · 20/02/2009 17:26

Whats your email gin?

Oh dear.I hope it is nothing too dreadful. You deserve a bit of peace. We might come down for a visit one Tues or Fri if you'll have us..Would be lovely to see you and meet India..

[Grin] TYG..Did I omit details of my regular practice of hiding behind the bathroom door and mouthing 'piss off, piss off, piss off 'at the girls over and over To be seen in a parenting manual near you soon.

Ask for 5 MILLION POUNDS Abby.If you dont ask you dont get

You are never too old for the Killers SKY.When I saw them at Leeds last year I was standing nect to a 50 year old (he told me!)who was loving it!Get thee into your burlesque costume and post a pic

I have made cake oday. And it didnt collapse!I am so proud of self as tbh I am not a good baker.
Ah.Is it after 5?I think it may be time for a little gin..The girls have been bikcering since 2 o clock..needs must.I have no lemons except frozen.Still this is no time to be princessy about gin acoutrements

twelveyeargap · 20/02/2009 17:28

You could have frozen lemon and dispense with the ice. I had 4 gins last night and then went for a run at 6.15 this morning. I did NOT feel good. Bleugh.

Themasterandmargaritas · 20/02/2009 17:48

Jeeeeez TYG you are turning into a sport billy Well done on the running, I managed 8 miles this morning in 75 minutes and was very proud. Brandon accompanied me, sadly without his bulging pants. Not that it's a competition or anything And remember muscles weigh more than fat.

Lemons Scoot????? You are being way too precious. Shove it down yer neck the way it is. I wish I could go to see the Killers with you. The closest I get is an option to see the former lead singer of UB40, without UB40

I have been boozing it up all day in true expat fashion

Excellent parenting techniques from you both. I am learning fast. Pmsl at A nodding sagely. All my mean mummy training is slipping away fast as, frankly, I can't be bothered with J's tantrums, and I just give in. . 'Oh you want cake do you darling? Here have some. So you want to sip mummy's wine, well why the hell not if it stops you kicking up a fuss at the dinner table'. He is really very easy going.

Abby how do you go about actually selling a company? Where do you advertise for example? I hope you both have a lovely time tonight.

Errrm, I'm not totally sure I know what burlesque is. So I think a photo is needed Sky. Is it something that you need mahoosive ample bosoms for? If that is the case I may look better in MrsJB's line dancing outfit.

LG&T can I come and visit too?

SKYTVADDICT · 20/02/2009 17:52

Scoot - I stick two fingers up quite often (behind the DDs backs of course!! - and not at the boys)

It feels good to share such things!

MmeJaffaB · 20/02/2009 18:49

I'm sooooooooooooooooo excited it's unreal. Although very slightly nervous, I feel like a five year old about to play Mary in the Nativity. I beg of you! I LOVE my costume, I have the ceinture with frills and a hat now.....woo hoooo!

5 million Abby, I'm with Scoot!

Ohhhhhh you have NO idea what I do behind Maddies back, good god that child!!!!! She's free to cupboard somewhere, on second thoughts I wouldn't put any of you through it with her, I'll ride it on out here, maybe just lose the key for a while or something.

catch you later partners!

AprilMeadow · 20/02/2009 18:53

elkiedee · 21/02/2009 00:20

Thanks for messages and for the lift offer Scoot.

C had a great weight gain today after feeding practically all night and refusing to allow me to put him down - he only went to sleep at 7.30 am. Yawn. We still have to take him in to be weighed again on Monday but have been offered a lift with a neighbour a few streets away.

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/02/2009 05:54

Elkie that is great news. I hope from now on you both go from strength to strength. Have you managed to keep on bf?

Have fun tonight MrsJB.

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/02/2009 09:42

AprilMeadow · 21/02/2009 11:08

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/02/2009 14:19

DH is out on a bike ride and has just phoned to say that one of his friends he was with has had a heart attack and died . I am sitting here shaking. He was such a lovely man and only 42. His poor wife and dc's

AprilMeadow · 21/02/2009 14:36

OMG! That's awful. Your poor friends and also poor dh
Thinking of you all at this very sad time xxx

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/02/2009 14:54

Thanks AM. Just spoke to dh - he is taking his friend's car and personal stuff to the hospital where they have taken him. He's just been crying on the phone Its just such a shock for everyone. I really feel I should be doing something but I don't want to call his wife because I don't even know whether the police will have told her yet.

Anyway - sorry for rambling

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/02/2009 15:03

Jesus Christ, Tilly that is awful. So sad for their family And how difficult for your poor dp to have to deal with. So sorry. I'm sure there will be plenty for you to help with in the near future Tilly, probably just by being there.

MmeJaffaB · 21/02/2009 16:38

Tilly, I'm so sorry, that is just tragic. You must all be in shock. Thinking of you all. xxx

JamInMyWellies · 21/02/2009 17:35

Tilly how awful

MKG · 21/02/2009 23:37

Oh Tilly- I don't really know what to say. But I'm sorry you and your dh have to go through this. Your poor dh.

largeginandtonic · 22/02/2009 12:08

Oh God Tilly that is dreadful Your poor dh, what a shock. I just can't believe it, things like this make you realise how precious life is.
