Morning all.

Especially LG&T and India.

I will be requiring lengthy cuddles.

I shall be singing Hush Little Baby for the duration.

OP posts:

Poor you MKG that doesnt sound nice at all. The end is in sight for you m'dear, not long to go now.

MmeJaffaB · 18/02/2009 09:28

I have to agree though MKG, the end is so boring. BUT we all know it does come to an end eventually and it's all worth the wait. Use the time wisely. do a bungee jump or summit?

D&V here.......... Not nice! Next door passed it on kindly, H has it now but no doubt it'll sweep through the house. I am wearing a mask and rubber gloves all day, Saturday is my big show night NOTHING will get in the way.

largeginandtonic · 18/02/2009 10:34

Fook it all i say. We are having such fun in the G&T house atm.Things with the twins Dad are going from bad to worse. FB details.

The older kids all got off fine.

B is a nightmare of epic proportions, hitting, screaming and throwing.

Indie is sweet though, not too much trouble although i have realised at 4 weeks old she has never actually been put down I am always holding her, or someone is. She sleeps next to me in bed too. I am calling her a continuum baby, i really must stop though. I have too much to do and cant hold her forever. I think it is because she is my last, i am being a bit precious about her. Muppet.

I hope you are all ok.

JamInMyWellies · 18/02/2009 11:27

LG&T hope you are all ok.

MmeJaffaB · 18/02/2009 11:57

xxx lg&t

Put that baby down, will do her no good you know

AbbyLou · 18/02/2009 12:35

LGT sounds as though things are not good for you at the mo. Hope things sort themselves out soon. Was it you who said you'd had the police round? Sounds scary whoever it was.
MrsJB sorry to hear H is not well. Can you keep him in isolvation until he's better? . You have to do that show, you've been looking forward to it for so long!
MKG, hope the end is nigh for you. I never got to the end with either of mine but I was still fed up.
Scoot, good to hear from you. You sound a lot more upbeat and certainly sound as though you are feeling better - taking on MPs and all that!!
Catchastar, good to hear from you. Well done you for restarting your degree, the easy thing to do would have been to give up. It must be very hard with a lo as well.
Hi to everyone else - especially Charley who never forgets me!!!
I've got a day on my own today as dh is at work and dils have taken the kids out. I am supposed to be blitzing the house and doing my school work but I'm finding it hard to get motivated. I think I just want to enjoy a bit of me time!

MKG · 18/02/2009 13:50

Oh LG&T-- I hope you are doing ok.

Deffo agree that you need to put that girl down. If you don't you will not be allowed in the mean mommy bridgade anymore.

SKYTVADDICT · 18/02/2009 15:37

Oh dear LG&T, hope things get better soon.

Just found out the weekend away in blackpool is going to be two themed nights out - and one is burlesque! Errr - can I wear a cardi with that? (March in Blackpool!) Luckily a couple of the other girls are quite big too (although not as big as me!) so they have found a generous and not too indecent dress. The other night is all black with pink curly wigs which I can just about manage. They were going to do "old ladies" which would have suited me much better (and would have been cheaper!) but one of the girls wants to be glamorous! We are all in relationships and will not be on the pull, just going for a laugh.

Themasterandmargaritas · 18/02/2009 15:55

LG&T it all sounds dreadful.Vent all on here with us. Don't put that baby down, ever. Cherish her chubby cheeks and baby smell. And that is from the meanest of mums.

Uh oh, Jasper's just pooped in the bath, on dh's watch. It is sweet revenge for the fact he is going away for 10 days on a boys hiking trip and has misplaced the 800 dollars spending money he had taken out. I didn't react,I took up my new Zen like calm posture and let it go over my head, are you impressed?

MKG, I suggest you man up. You didn't hear LG&T moaning at all during her last few weeks days did you?

Oooooo burlesque in Blackpool sounds fun Sky, a bit more risque than my yoga weekend to be, in muslim Lamu.

Catchastar, welcome back, don't go away this time. Well done on the studying, that takes dedication. Sorry C is sick again, I hope it soon clears up, poor wee thing. Have you had more snow?

So Jam any more news on whether dh got the job?

Abby, you definitely shouldn't be feeling bad about some you time! Give yourself some more.

Chin up MrsJB, you've got a delightful outfit to look forward to wearing on Saturday.

JamInMyWellies · 18/02/2009 18:16

No nothing on the job as yet.

SKY gwad dreeeing up for a wkened would scare the bejaysus out of me good luck just have lotd of cocktails then you should be ok.

TMAM well done on staying zen like.

SKY & SCOOT if you are thinking about child minding they now have to be ofsted registered and follow EYFS if oyu go on the childmining topics there is lots aobut it.

TYG grr at your DH's DIY thankfully J is very handy around the house.

ABBY go for the me time. SOd the planning and housework.

Now girls need your medical help re Archie

JamInMyWellies · 18/02/2009 18:17

Apologies for dodgy typos am feeding and rubbish at one handed typing

MKG · 18/02/2009 18:36

I know I should really man up. I will be more like LG&T who never said a word to complain. I know, I'll Master my husband so she can feed him to lions, and I'll fedex the boys over for Elizabeth to raise for me. Now that is a plan.

elkiedee · 19/02/2009 09:06

Morning all, just putting my head in to say hi. We've been on home leave from hospital paediatrics dept since Tuesday afternoon but having to travel backwards and forwards the 3 or 4 miles across the borough, hoping to be discharged to community midwives tomorrow, subject to C's weight. The gory details are posted somewhere else on mumsnet, most on my first April 2007 postnatal. Thanks to SOH and Mme Jaffa ad anyone else who has posted supportive messages on any threads that they've done.

Must go and have my bath as Conor is with dp, and will hopefully have a bit of a nap soon before community midwife comes to see me (this morning as well, threatened about 10 am). Danny is with his wonderful CM, so glad after the last few weeks that I'd already taken the decision that he should stay there (my maternity leave is with full pay for 28 weeks, we'll be skint when I'm on last 11 weeks on SMP and then back at work paying for two, but it's worth it for us all and D is really happy there, it's like a home from home with a CM and family who really seem to care about him, he's not just a money-earning thing).

JamInMyWellies · 19/02/2009 10:29

Elkie am so glad you are sort of home. I hope things continue to improve for you all. x

twelveyeargap · 19/02/2009 13:09

Sorry you haven't been supported as you would have liked to be Elkie. I hope C continues to get stronger and that you can reduce the top ups. I'm sure you've been told that it can be harder to establish breast feeding after a c-section. Do continue to ask for help where you think you need it. There is a breast feeding drop in near you on a Thursday from 10-12 at Woodlands Park Children's Centre, if you think it might help to attend a group. Email me if you need any other info. I generally don't venture off this thread so I'm afraid I missed your other messages.

TMAM, at your DH losing the $800. How did he manage that? Has it turned up?

I ran almost 4 miles last night at 9.5 minute/ mile pace. Did it with my trainer and even he was sweating when we got back and he was impressed with me. Yey! Then I had my weigh and measure and though I'd still lost cms, which is the main thing, I'd gained 2kgs. Oops. It's the booze. I have to knock it on the head midweek. I am becoming a lush.

Scoot, how are you doing?

AbbyLou · 19/02/2009 15:56

TYG you gog irl! That sounds an impressive rate to me, you'll be shedding the pounds in no time.
Elkie, what a time you've had! Glad to hear C is putting some weight on and that you're home at last.
We've had a 'babies growing up' day today. Dh turned R's cot into a bed this morning and after lunch she had her first nap in it. She was so excited but then not so sure when I left her. She didn't cry though. When I went up to wake her she was fast asleep sitting up but flat on her tummy if you know what I mean. Then I had to take C for his pre-school booster. He was very brave and just cried a little. He was very pleased with the certificate and stickers though.

TheGreatScootini · 19/02/2009 20:35

I wasnt making fun honestly MKG..I was trying to do you a cheer. Its just being the very english rose I am I wasnt very good at it.

Elkie-CAT me..I am always in your area and spend quite a bit of time at the Whittington..I might be good for lifts sometimes if needed?Glad to hear things going better..I feel the same re the girls cm..they are very much part of the family there.

I love Burlesque Sky.Burlesque in Blackpool will be fabulous!

8OO Dollars misplaced?!>>looks round furtively whilst stuffing dollar bills under hat

TheGreatScootini · 19/02/2009 20:38

Today a theif walked into one of my services and nicked a telly.I BEG OF YOU!!

JamInMyWellies · 19/02/2009 20:45

Scoot Brandon is now on my laminated list to be truly vulgar did you see the bulge in his tight trousers ooh I nearly fainted clean away.

A threw a 2 hour tantrum tonight because, I think I gave him the wrong plate for his dinner

Lachie had his first lot of injections today poor wee mite he is all toasty and not himself so have drugged him up hope he sleeps ok.

CatchaStar · 19/02/2009 21:46

DD is breaking me with her tantrums, seriously. I don't know what to do.

I can't even laugh about it anymore, patience is wearing very thin.

Find it hard to ignore her tanturms as she headbutts everything and hurts herself.

Scoot how on earth did they manage to do that?! I found a card today that I was supposed to post down to you months ago when work wasn't going well. Gawd knows how I didn't send it, it had somehow found it's way into the 'needs to be sorted out' pile when I moved. I do appologise for being crap, the thought was there though.

Jam hope L is ok after his jabs.

TheGreatScootini · 19/02/2009 22:02

I appreciate the thought lovey
As you know my angels are the masters of the tantrum.Ignoring is the best prescription IMO and where practical. However you are only human, (or are you dancer?hahaha-see I cant help it!),It would be impossible not to grind your teeth at the very least during the 5 thousandth tantrum of the day.I did read a leaflet I was sent by the HV the other day, (they sent it to everyone with a 3 year old not just me specially because they knew Lily ).It struck a chord with me.It said 'coping with tantrums is not about stopping your child being angry. It is about dealing with how angry it makes you feel'.Both of my girls can make my blood boil at times, I hate to admit it.But when I lose it the situation never gets better.Put it this way, there is alot of counting to ten and chanting of 'this too will pass, this too will pass' in our house.
Its horrid.I know.Very very hard work at times and exhausting-its like they just flip and you cant get them back for love nor money for however long they are at it for.But it does get better.Promise.(so im told )

I know re the trousers Jam.My Word!I am even loving his feathered epaullettes.(I imagine he wears them at ALL times, even when popping to the shop.He does tend to rather embrace his chosen look at any given time.I think it shows dedication.I wish he would embrace me whilst he was at it )

TheGreatScootini · 19/02/2009 22:04

They just strolled in off the street, unplugged it and walked back out again.I give in.The thing was MASSIVE.Did any of my staff notice?Nope!

twelveyeargap · 19/02/2009 23:36

Fair play to you Scoot. "This too will pass." would be a good day in this house. On bad days it's, "Jesus H. Christ! I'm losing my f*cking MIND! STOP WHINING!". To which A will reply, "Shouting." and nod her head sagely.

twelveyeargap · 19/02/2009 23:38

I am not proud of this, I should add...

AbbyLou · 20/02/2009 08:23

Scoot I am sooooo of The Killers. I have seen them once when I was pregnant with R and it was the most amazing night.
Well R did well in her bed but she fell out three times. The first time she never even woke up. I came in from a night out with bf and checked on her and she was fast asleep on the floor with her dummy still in. Thank goodness I put the cushions down. We have got a bed guard up in the loft that we bought for C and never used. Do youthink I should use it or does it just lull them into a false sense of security? When you remove it do they still fall out? I wonder whether it would be better in the long run to just let her get used to it but I hate the thought of her falling out and hurting herself.
