hello

although I'm probably talking to myself.

FestiveFairyFay · 10/01/2009 20:51

And Daisy, don't worry about missing the 'cheese', I've certainly done the same.

FestiveFairyFay · 10/01/2009 20:53

Quick question - do any of the June babies have pillows yet? We have given DS one today, in desperation to try and persuade him to use his quilt. I can't for the life of me remember when we gave DD hers.

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 10/01/2009 21:00

No pillows here yet. Will he wear a fleecy all-in-one? That's what we have DD in, and we cover her up when we go to bed.

Daisy, DD used to get like that in her neck. It was so hard to dry. That's not neglect woman! But I know these things just make you feel awful when you notice them.

FestiveFairyFay · 10/01/2009 21:03

He already wears one of those fleecy things over his pjs and a vest. We can't cover him when we go to bed as he wakes up if we go in. Despite having the heating on low overnight (I quake at the thought of our next gas bill) he is still waking up and often seems cold. My Mum has, tonight, lent us an electric fan heater with a thermostat - so I will try that tomorrow night. Of course, he may not be cold at all, but it's the only explanation I can come up with.

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 10/01/2009 21:06

Is it just since the move Fairy? Could it be related to that? What do you do when he wakes up? DD goes through phases and if we have gotten her up a few times she seems to catch on and it becomes habitual. We usually have to go through a night of tough love to get past it stressful though.

FestiveFairyFay · 10/01/2009 21:09

Unfortunately it's been going on for a couple of months now off and on. I think getting up for a cuddle had become a nice habit for him, although not so great for us. We did keep 'giving in' though as we knew that getting him up for a bit would mean he'd go back to sleep/ That has to stop and we're on our third night of 'tough love', so fingers crossed for tonight.

FestiveFairyFay · 10/01/2009 21:10

I think it's the fact that he sobs 'mama mama' that really gets to me the most. He always wakes up happy in the morning though so is hopefully not too traumatised by the whole experience

On which note, I'm going to go to bed, and cross my fingers for a good sleep. Good night Bumper, and any lurkers

BumpermightsuetheSindie · 10/01/2009 21:22

Good night, and good luck!

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/01/2009 21:37

anyone still about?

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/01/2009 21:40

daisy the hospital take ur bloods at begining and they have the results by the time ur scan is over.. i was well impressed.
they measured the nose bone, fluid at neck, heart valve and some blood vessel in the stomach. combined that with the bloods and voila!
i was glad they did so many mmeasurements because my bloods came back at 1:100 which is scary, but the woman said that no way would a baby with a nuchal of 1.9 be downs, that it must be something else non baby related buggering up the bloods. anyway for all the 4 scan things to be present and low risk the bloods can be thrown out.
i was very impressed and i am so glad to insist i had this baby at kings instead of lewisham.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/01/2009 21:42

fairy i am getting that atm, driving me nuts she wakes 3-4 times a night with the "mummmmmyyy" cry.
she has a duvet and a pillow, tho she tends to use the pillow to cuddle as we used it to prise her out of our bed at 13 months lol, she normally has an arm round my neck!

LittleMissNorty · 10/01/2009 22:55

Evening all

I bought DD a pillow and duvet for her cot.....and neither is used. She will not go near her pillow and instead shifts herself down the co and uses her blanket to lie on....and she's still in her sleeping bags....I really am in a quandary over whether to get the next size up 18m - 3years or to ditch them and use the duvet.

Good nuchal results Natty

Hope Baggins and baby Foxy are feeling a bit better....trust your instincts Ria and take him back to the docs if you need to.

Found the wash bag so everything now packed for hospital visit! Gave up looking for the head-hugger so bought one off e-bay.....everyone will know that I'm a tight cow in hospital as I'll be the one with the car seat with covers that I couldn't remember how to get back quite right, and a non-matching head hugger . Its amazing how many dads you see walking upto the PN wards with brand new car seats with matching everything, and labels still hanging off. I was one of those parents 18 months ago.....and now I am a "cobble it together" parent!

Daisy....if you wish to divest yourself of the Maclaren.....please let me know

DH now on beer rationing and in the spare room...reality is dawning....

happynewRia · 10/01/2009 23:05

LOL norty at beer rationing. I have always been a cobble it together parent.

baggins is sleeping, he has been on and off since about 5.30, no tea and no milk. he seems peaceful enough and not hot, but the spots have got bigger and blotchier and joined together. Wish DM was here though cos she would recognise measles if she saw it (am tempted to email photo). DH off work tomorrow so we can always do another trip to the hospital if necessary (without me having to cry because I have to drive myself) Have done a lot od crying and screaming at the kids (including baggins when he tried to rip my hair out) today. Feel a bit like I've been attached to someones dart board iyswim.

LittleMissNorty · 10/01/2009 23:11

Aww Ria .....you're obviously worried about him and its stressing you out. You should e-mail your mum a pic...I would....

Hope he sleeps well....and you do too.

I'm off to bed as well now....(kingsize all to myself).

Night x

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 10/01/2009 23:21

LackaDAISYcal · 11/01/2009 00:09

it's getting beyond a joke natty....but at least he is just cooing and laughing tonight and not screaming!

how is it possible for him to be awake this long?

he is currently trying to eat his blanket.

OP posts:
NattyPlus2andAHalf · 11/01/2009 00:23

lol bless him, ellen was a wakey baby.
feel for you.

keep whipping out the norks!! milk him to sleep

LackaDAISYcal · 11/01/2009 00:31

lol at milk him to sleep.

If I could I would, but he is very emphatic whem he doesn't want it.

He has just gone off to sleep and is in his chair. Have tried him in the iCandy carrycot and he hates it, and I daren't try and get him in his cot.

We usually co-sleep but I promised DH he could have the bed tonight!

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 11/01/2009 00:33

LackaDAISYcal · 11/01/2009 00:36
