hello

although I'm probably talking to myself.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 24/01/2009 14:09

Afternoon! Jamlet's having a nap (she's done plenty of walking and the excitement of being at Granny & Grandad's has obviously worn her out because she didn't fight it) and my parents and DSis have gone to Tesco. (I've asked my DSis to pick me up a haggis for tomorrow ) So thought I'd sneak in a bit of MN.

Foxy that your DD had to have a canula. I've seen them being fitted in children in the past and it's not nice. I vividly remember a young boy (8 or 10?) who hadn't peed in 24 hours and we had to do a scan of him peeing but he just couldn't go. In the end we said he could have one last go before we'd have to get a canula fitted. He asked if he could have some privacy, so we left him in the room with me and 2 other technicians outside with ears against the door, listening to him go "ooooooooohhhh!!, ooooowwwww!!!!!!!, oooooooohhhh!!!!! ooooooooooowwwwwwww!!!!!!!" and finally "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" with a huge sigh of relief all round. Poor boy.

Glad potty training is generally progressing well Natty. no answers for the poo problem though. We haven't started that yet, beyond having a potty about the place for familiarisation. Jamlet likes to stand with one foot in it

Off out for a meal tonight with my DSis and our DCousin. Hope everyone else has a good rest of weekend.

HellHathNoFury · 24/01/2009 14:31

I feel like shit. I hate being PG.

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 24/01/2009 14:43

oh, yes fury, that morning afternoon evening all fecking day sickness.

I hope it passes quickly for you.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 14:48

Poor fury, you have my sympathies. Being pg is shit, I hate it, hence not having any more. Uh, I can still feel the retchy, watery mouth feeling even just thinking about it. Hope it passes quickly.

Daisy, fingers crossed you have turned a corner. Maybe you should see a counsellor anyway. It wouldn't hurt just to see if they can help.

I have just bought a new pushchair as a celebration of dp's new job and dd's school place!! Brillo!

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 24/01/2009 14:50

oooh, DP got a new job? That's fantastic holly

but lol at you buying another pram! what did you get? (from one pram hun to another )

LittleMissNorty · 24/01/2009 15:18

Good god no....no sex here ...elective CS booked for Monday week, so none of that sort of thing going on here....we're in separate beds due to my snoring

Good news about the job Holly.

My MS lasted much longer 2nd time....sorry fury!

Ohforfoxsake · 24/01/2009 15:22

Great news about DPs job Holly!

Sorry you are feeling shitty-shite Fury. How many weeks are you now?

Hello everyone else

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 15:38

Hi fox!

The job is a bit less money than he wanted, is a sales manager position, so a great opportunity. Gets him out of my hair as well!!

I sold my Petite Star as the handles were too short and it was pissing me off. I looked at all the various strollers with high handles and there were only 4 that fit the bill. The Maclaren XLR (too big), the Maclaren XT (dullsville) and the Silver Cross Pop and Dazzle. I went to a nursery store to look at the Silver Crosses the other day and as soon as I saw the Dazzle I fell in love [sad loser emoticon]. It is gorgeous and seriously stylish. I bought it from ebay in the end, I wanted blue, but got black as it was cheaper. Never mind, beggars can't be choosers. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 24/01/2009 16:04

It is very stylish holly, but I just saw this on Two Left Feet's website:

"The Dazzle is an entirely new concept in urban infant transportation".....wtf!!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 16:17

I know...it's a pushchair FFS! I was put off by the fact that Katie Price has one, but I don't have orange skin and (hopefully) am not a knob, so hopefully I can get away with it!

HellHathNoFury · 24/01/2009 17:35

Foxy... no idea how many weeks I am. 8 at a guess.

I never had any MS at all with DS. Now I feel constantly ill, faint, backache. as a result I am fixed to the sofa... as a result of that I weigh as much as a freight lorry.

Ohforfoxsake · 24/01/2009 17:38

If you are giving someone a large kitchen appliance you think they'd have the manners to come and get the farking thing, or reply to your stalking emails/texts/voicemails

Anyone want a tumble dryer? One careful lady owner.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 18:04

How rude foxy! Put it on ebay. I was going to freecycle my old fridge and freezer. I didn't really think anyone would want them, but I had a go on ebay and got £60! Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

Fury, you are having a girl!!! I was terribly sick with dd, to the point where I couldn't keep water down, kept fainting and had to go on medication. With ds I was sick every morning between 12 and 20 weeks, but that was it.

The website I have been writing for has stopped publishing, so I have been working on mine. Honest opinions please. I need to work on the colour, but CSS is outfoxing me atm, I need to do a bit more revision. Also I need to change the ads around a bit, it is a work in progress. The point of it is is that I will update it every day with the best bargains and new products and do reviews and stuff. I am doing another one with just reviews on to link in with it, so hopefully once I get it set up properly and up the Google list companies will start sending me stuff to test !

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 18:09

Grrr...ds has just had his dinner and he is sat on my lap lifting up my top and saying "boobie"! Just like his dad he is!

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 24/01/2009 18:17

Looks good holly...you are tres clever . I like the green colour; quite classy, but not the turquoise, but you say you're working on it so tell me to fark orf.
Your title is a bit small and indistinct as well. Also, can you sort it so that the links open in a new tab or a new window as they are navigating away from your site.

other than, lovely

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 24/01/2009 18:18

oh, and if you need any testers......

that last line should have read "other than that" obviously.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 18:27

Thanks daisy. Of course you can be one of my testers!! I am slowly going to add all the tests I've already done, but I think on the new site and just link to them from this one, otherwise it'll get a bit hectic!

Thanks for the colour tips, I have been trying to change the sodding background all day, but it is split in two and I can't find the coding for the top half! It's doing my head in! I was thinking of going for a soft yellow colour.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 18:41

Oh fuck, I broke my website!

Ohforfoxsake · 24/01/2009 19:16

I really, really like it Holly, and I would have used it heaps when I was PG. Like the colour, I think it looks classy.

Which is why I think you have to change your email address in the contacts - I think its erm, too, young. but your website doesn't look wicked cool, it looks classy and sophisticated IYSWIM. Can you have [email protected]? And from a business point of view I think it would be better for advertisers and suppliers.

Its not a criticism, it just struck me. I think its brill!

Is that OK?

LittleMissNorty · 24/01/2009 19:20

Snap. That was going to be my only comment....a more professional e-mail address.....perhaps an admin@, advertise@ etc to look like you are e-mailing different teams IYKWIM...otherwise it looks great .

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 19:27

Yes, I know about the email! I am trying to change it so I have 3 different ones for the different parts of the site, but I am having trouble working out how to do it through the site. The one I've got on there atm is just my generic one.

Thanks for looking at it everyone, I am still trying to get rid of the blue background, I don't like it with the green, but I am too scared to change it. I tried to do it just now and the whole thing crashed!!

I need to get it high up on Google now, how do I do that? Fury, Sputnik...??

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 24/01/2009 19:50
