hello

although I'm probably talking to myself.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HellHathNoFury · 23/01/2009 20:56

Daisy that makes sense!

I love him dearly.... but want to throttle him

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 23/01/2009 20:59

I'm like that with my older two most days fury...then they go to bed and DH and I sit talking about what they did that day that was cute and lovely!

bumper, what on earth was that deleted post on your nursery thread?.....the poster had another six messages deleted, all on nursery threads!!

Ohforfoxsake · 23/01/2009 21:08

Thanks for your kind words 3 weeks til the results. Canula was far worse than the scan, which they did while she had her afternoon nap. She's a bit battered and bruised, but over it all now I think.

Fury, you definately want them to be vile at home and not at their institutions. My childrens' teachers would not believe they are capable of being so horrible.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 23/01/2009 21:14

evening all
just a quick post to say that i wont be on tonight, been in bed all day with this flaming bug, my arm is killing me again, and DH being his usual rubbish non helpful self.

anyway! tom went to bed with a nappy on tho i had to hold him down and force it on him, im at a loss really but i think its one of those situations he just has to do as he is told.
another poo in pants this afternoon, little bugger, wonder when he will pass this stage

why is it with kids we are always waiting for one stage or another to "pass"? with me if its not one toddler tantruming its the other!
ho hum and im doing it all again [crazy emoticon]

Ohforfoxsake · 23/01/2009 21:16

Natty, that's really, really, really common. I have know answers, just wanted to reassure. There will be wisdom on MN about it I'm sure.

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 23/01/2009 21:17

glad DD is ok foxy, hospitals are horrid for kids (and us parents) arnt they? let us know the results wont you?

fury ellen is much the same at the mo, tantrums at home, and good as gold elsewhere.
perhaps its cos they think they can push us more?
kids eh?

Ohforfoxsake · 23/01/2009 21:17

That was a good post, wasn't it?

The waiting to poo is common. And I have no answers.

Its been a long day ...

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 23/01/2009 21:20

aw foxy know what u mean.
am feeling very sorry for myself as sick AGAIN and cant take anything.
i know i rely to heavily on medication to get me thru bugs (cos i have to kids to look after, i didnt both b4 kids) but i am really struggling to cope being sick all the time.

once we have pulled ourselves out of this mammouth debt we are in i would love to be able to send them to nursery once a week.

(wishful thinking)

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 23/01/2009 21:22

Natty, is your arm no better? Have you been to the doctors?

re the pooing; try not to make a big deal about it or it could make him do it more often. Other than that, it's early days so hopefully he'll get there. Can you try a sticker/reward chart?

when i was potty training DS, we had a kandoo toilet training passport with space for a photo pages where you could add stickers for whtever task he did....ask for the toilet, do a wee, do a poo, wipe own bum etc. He responded really well to it, although most of his training was done by his nursery staff!

Ohforfoxsake · 23/01/2009 21:23

Good idea Daisy. Sticker charts are great for potty training.

Ohforfoxsake · 24/01/2009 08:46

Did I actually manage to kill the thread?!

Morning.

DD did a poo in the potty yesterday - well more a case of DH catching it than any effort on her part. She is getting good at letting us know after she has pooed though. Last week she said to DH - 'Stinky.Change it!'
I was very impressed that she asked DH and not me for a nappy change. Don't think she's really ready for potty yet though so won't be pushing it.

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 24/01/2009 10:47

that's men for you butterfly

lol foxy...you killed it

I went to bed as I was knackered. Bumble slept from 8.30 (waking briefly at 10.30 but he settled back to sleep without a feed) until 5.45 this morning . The Trafford Centre has magical properties; I think I want to go and live there.

Bad news this morning is that I have really nasty tummy cramps and feel like I have been hit by a bus; am achey all over

TALLULAHBELLE · 24/01/2009 10:59

Woo Hoo -that's a long sleep Daisy. How many weeks is he now? (TB tries to work out how much longer she has to wait for a nice long sleep.) We did not to badly last night. DD1 down @ 7:30, DT's asleep in cot by 9pm, feed @ 11:30, feed @ 4am, DT1 awake @ 7:30 but settled with a cuddle until DT2 awake around 8:15. DD1 up @ 8:45. Now DH & DT2 back in bed, well he is so tired poor love

TALLULAHBELLE · 24/01/2009 11:01

That's too badly, obviously.

Got your e mail Daisy so will get that sorted today.

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 24/01/2009 11:06

he's 12 weeks today Tallulah....but only a week ago was still up half the night. The sleeping has only come together in the last week and he has built on it by an hour a night.

We were keeping him downstairs with us and he was waking at 10-11 ish, then feeding and taking a while to settle. Last night I think the fact the room was dark when he started stirring meant he didn't wake fully.

Your routine doesn't sound too bad, considering there are two of them. How is the BFing going? Is it easier this time around, or harder because there are two? And how is DD reacting to you BFing? Em was very interested until I squeezed some milk out and the look of horror on her face was a picture. She likes to help me with the breast pump though!

Did you get my message re account Nos?

TALLULAHBELLE · 24/01/2009 11:22

BF going pretty well, they are naturals, is much easier than with DD. Haven't got the hang of tandem yet tho, that would make it a whole lot easier time wise. They each get one bottle thru the night so DH can help out & I get some rest.

DD not too concerned by the feeding but likes to announce 'boobies' & 'nipples' in big loud voice whenever I start to feed. Doesn't bode well for public b/f.

Ohforfoxsake · 24/01/2009 11:26

Ah, Butterfly - made famous in the Talk Round-up

Clever LOs!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 13:06

Afternoon everyone, I am a bad MNer! I keep losing the thread because I haven't been on for so long, that is not normal!

Dp has a job, hurrah! He starts a week on Monday, so I may be able to find time after next week to actually get on here during the day without feeling judged!!

Also had an email at 11.59 last night (!) from the school admissions team saying that dd is in our first choice of school! I am so pleased! Foxy, do you get your letter soon?

Tallulah, well done for bfing, that is fab! I'm sure most people wouldn't even attempt it with twins, I hope you manage to master tandem feeding. Hope everything else is going well and you are adjusting to being a family of 5!

Fury, hope you are ok too. How are you feeling?

Norty, when are you due? I forget these things! Hope you aren't feeling rubbish and too tired.

Foxy, hope dd is ok, that is horrible, poor little thing xxxxkisses to her and you.

Hi everyone else if I've forgotten anything I'm sorry!

Right, ds is bfing and trying to walk away whilst attached, so I'll be back later xxx

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 24/01/2009 13:10

hi holly, good to hear from you.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 13:19

Hi daisy, he's successfully unattached now! It took some very forceful finger in mouth action! Is the bfing getting better? How's the rest of the daisy clan?

LittleMissNorty · 24/01/2009 13:24

Hi everyone

Good to see you Holly....saw you in M&B this month as well ....when's your edition Daisy?

Baby due Monday week Holly....sooner the better

Tallulah - sounds like you're doing really well.....hope I'm going to manage half as well with one!

DD currently eating chocolate angel delight off the table so I should probably go and supervise.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 24/01/2009 13:28

Hi norty, that's very exciting, are you having lots of sex and nipple stim?! Thank God for that cotbed test in M&B, selling those saw us through Christmas without having to sell vital organs!

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 24/01/2009 14:09

I'll be Miss April

Getting better holly, although his latch is still pants. He clucks and whirrs his way through every feed as he breaks suction all the time and twangs my nipple around painfully if I'm not vigilant at relatching him. But...I've not had any blocked ducts/mastitis for nearly two weeks now so that's progress . I'm always in the verge of calling in a BFC though, but whenever I think I will, he gets better for a few feeds, so I know he can do it.
