Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ooh, am excited, just discovered there is a cinema here that does the mother and baby screenings - they call them "bring your own baby" screenings". Not sure if I could manage to persuade P to stay quiet throughout a whole film, but definitely worth a go! Daisy, it is the Hyde Park Picture house by the way. They showed Slumdog Millionaire today - bugger, missed it! Doesn't look like there is a Bring your own baby screening next week, but hopefully there will be more in the weeks to come! Yay!

juanitad · 21/01/2009 20:28

Happy Burns Night Daisy!

MerryMarigold · 21/01/2009 20:31

coolkat, am sure you are a yum mum to dh, especially with those peephole bras . can sympthise with the losing weight - my appetite is still huge. mostly i just fancy the taste of food though rather than needing to eat.

pinky, glad you didn't have to say no and was relatively ok.

hip hip hurray for ds1 here. got a poo in the potty tonight and 3 or 4 wees during the day. our best day yet, but yesterday was awful (dh not around to supervise) - poo all over feet, legs, bathroom floor, me shouting, ds crying. one day, one day, one day we shall get there. see, i am not a supermum at all, but thanks for saying nice things...always nice to hear.

tried Miri on tummy this pm. lasted less than 30 seconds, hated it. anyway, looks a bit too much like crawling practise and I am dreading that moment. keep them immobile as long as poss I say.

well not sure when i'll next get on. dh at work all day tomorrow...

PinkFurryStripeyTiger · 21/01/2009 20:32

Dasiy glad you have talked things through with DH, and you are feeling better.

LOve the *Burns Night name!

Thanks for your thought everyone. I'm sorry I'm so self absorbed at the mo.

So we are shopping on friday? Yay!!

Ok I'm going to see what I can do with the single egg we have in the kitchen.

vbab78 · 21/01/2009 20:34

lacks, pinky & ladybuzz - hope you all feel better soon.
period - On my second , had my 1st I think when A was 4wks ish.
TODAY - Had lovely day out with my mum and dad with A and DS just shopping (looking not spending). The main event was A pooing so hard it went through her nappy, dress, tights and snowsuit straight onto my jeans . Luckily I packed a sleepsuit for just such an occasion but didnt think about packing spare jeans for me! DS is stopping at my mum's and dad's tonight. A though who did the playdough poo earlier is currently screaming her head off in a very distressed way in between trying to sleep. Bless. Left DH to try and sort her . I think maybe a bit of belly ache .
lacks - Are you the organiser for the Trafford Centre get together? Not sure if I would be coming or not yet but wondered if you could tell me the details.
get together - Also who's going and if anyone fetching any DC's about my DS age of 2 & half?

PinkFurryStripeyTiger · 21/01/2009 20:34

and Coolkat sounds like you are living up to your name

PinkFurryStripeyTiger · 21/01/2009 20:37

vbab oh do come! Daisy and I are taking our middle DC- DD1 is 2.3.

Ceebee74 · 21/01/2009 20:41

Fab - shopping on Friday - my fave thing! Lol at the image of 7 of us with 7 prams in each shop

Daisy love the name! Glad DH was ok about it and a problem shared...and all that

Merry how brave are you tackling potty training whilst having the twins?? I am putting off doing DS1 because of Sam - not that DS1 is ready anyway!

Juanitad about the cinema screenings (Furry the Lowry is just a bit far for me to go to see a film unfortunately). I really want to see Slumdog Millionaire but this will be yet another film that passes me and DH by

Apparently DS1 has been a 'monkey' (their words, not mine) at nursery today - ignoring instructions, refusing to sit down etc. The funny thing is that the staff said it was so unlike him and they have never seen him be like that before...nearly pmsl as he is like that all the time at home although his behaviour has definitely deteriorated these last few days!

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 21/01/2009 20:47

vbab, are you not on the FB thread? Not sure of the details of it yet, but ceebee has been rallying us all so far. rutho was going to see if you wanted to go with her to share the journey. I think we're meeting about 10.30ish in or near the soft play in the food hall bit. Do come, if you can, and bring DS. they will all disappear into the soft play and be entertained while we chat. It'd be great to meet you

Ceebee74 · 21/01/2009 20:51

Vbab x-posts! Do come if you can - it will be fine as we are catering for the toddlers with soft play! You aren't on FB are you? It is pretty much as Daisy has said - we are meeting 10.30ish by the soft play area which is in the food hall (bottom floor) - if you follow signs for the food hall and then head for Nandos, the soft play area is next door and we will be around there somewhere

Oblomov · 21/01/2009 21:06

sorry to hear of ladybuzz hospital thing.
ladybuzz and ceebee , do not scoff at NHhelplines suggestion of trapped wind.
I know they are often naff and shit,on the phone, but I had wind after cs.
And the pain was UNREAL. and when nurse suggested wind, I scoffed and said "no, this is serious pain". but she gave me peppermint and the relief was instant .

Oblomov · 21/01/2009 21:08

Daisy, like name. My birthday is day after burns. My brother is burns night. My parents are from dumfries. ANd dh jokes that my mum is mrs doubtfire.
Ock eye the noo.

PinkFurryStripeyTiger · 21/01/2009 21:09

lol oblomov post operative wind can be nasty. But have to say, my buddy was told wind but ended up having her appendix out!

Oblomov · 21/01/2009 21:13

Pink, thats just the phone people living up to their naff reputation, then

MerryMarigold · 21/01/2009 21:31

ceebee. we are tackling potty training a) because dh is off work and b) because ds1 is 3 and 3 months .

first i was too sick in first trimester. then tried a bit in the summer but he didn't seem to be getting it without any effort on my part, so thought he 'wasn't ready' (i didn't have a clue what 'ready' meant). then i was far too massive to be clearing mess, getting down on floor etc. then i had the babies, so now...poor child is probably the oldest kid i know not trained and it is a bit .

LOL at missing slumdog. me too. i can't even go to my friend's evening wedding reception. anyone want to babysit 3month old twins and a 3yr old? nah, not even the grandparents. will we ever have a babysitter again. nah. wait for them to come on the cable TV. i'm not even thinking about valentine's. chinese takeaway perhaps or pop out to the pub when kids are all asleep.

Yorky · 21/01/2009 21:32

Thanks everyone for the nice thoughts and shared at the hospital, I feel OK, just tired and DH thinks I might be heading for anaemia due to extended blood loss.

What time is Fridays meet up? I was going to just put DD in sling but she likes laying flat and kicking so will bring pushchair - are we going to end up with coffee in paper cups sitting in the car park as the only place with enough space for all the buggies! At least DH has day off work so don't have to bring DS and double buggy

Lacka sorry you have to up the ADs but hope they help. Maybe we need a girly evening next time I'm at parents?

Being shouted for, hi to everyone else, hopefuly back soon

MerryMarigold · 21/01/2009 21:33

ps. does anyone know the 'bartholomew' books? i love them and so does ds1. reading the potty one to ds tonight, hence all the 'nah's'

ToAMountainDAISYcal · 21/01/2009 21:48

merryM....nah

Thanks Yorky, and a girly evening sounds just loverly. Are you taking iron tablets or something?

lol at your mum being Mrs Doubtfire Obs. there's quite a big scottish connection here isn't there? I've decided to do us a full Burn's supper on Sunday, with recitals and everything, just to give the kids a larf and to pep myself up a bit. My due date was Burn's night; and I would have been Robert/Roberta if so....thankfully my Mum was a week late and they had a change of heart about Roberta!!

PinkFurryStripeyTiger · 21/01/2009 21:56

obs that was her GP! to be fair, appendix is very hard to diagnose - but since it's a known complication of cs I think it was a bit shoddy.

quite a big scottish connection in our house - half DH family from Skye, mine from Glasgow.

burns night plans sound lovely, daisy

vbab78 · 21/01/2009 21:57

ceebee - FB? Face book? I'm not on I only just manage to keep up with this website! Really fancy meeting up with you guys. Just slightly worried about getting there for 10.30 as would be driving somewhere new with my lack of direction, rush hour traffic so I can get there in time, predicted bad weather over woodhead blah de blah de blah. nervous about DS not being in his buggy.

PinkFurryStripeyTiger · 21/01/2009 22:01

vbab I think we will be there fo a while- shopping etc. If someone has your mobile number we could easily still meet if you are a bit late. I think Rutho was thinking you could possibly travel together?

vbab78 · 21/01/2009 22:13

pinky - Would love to travel with Ruth and Fin but dont think I could fit 2 baby seats and DS seat in the back of my car (Ford CMAX) and I think it would be the same prob with Ruth's car. Dont know what she has got. I'm guessing Ruth lives about 30 mins in good traffic from me but I would have to battle through rush hour Sheff city traffic to get to her. I live Rotherham and I think Ruth lives Sheffield.
DO I SOUND MISERABLE OR WHAT?! Just read that. Ruth and Yorky have both got my mobile number. Who's going then?

Yorky · 21/01/2009 22:14

I was just bout to say I've got your number vbab but don't ask me for directions! Would be good to see you there

PinkFurryStripeyTiger · 21/01/2009 22:20

Ah yes of course- the 3 car seats problem!

you don't sound miserable to me- all sound like reasonable concerns.

hope you can come, though.

vbab78 · 21/01/2009 22:23

pink - how do you manage the car seat issue?
