Evening everyone

Well, alas (what am i saying?!!) TOM showed up today. Half bugger, half yay. Exactly a week late. How odd. Perhaps it's because i secretly really want to be pg (although give a year please!) and so my body decided to tease me instead!

Hats off to all the BFeeders! Good for you!

Ellie's not too much of an early riser - she tends to sleep later when i have work and therefore have to go and wake her up, ggrr!!

Normally she's up between 7 and 8 tho.

I know what you mean Loopy! Saying that, i was up til 3am with DD last night probably because of her teeth. Could have done with BF then i reckon, rather than coming downstairs and putting the TV on!

Febes · 13/03/2009 20:57

Evening all!! I miss BFing for just that reason Loopy. DD is pretty good at waiting till at least 8 to go downstairs for brekkie and drink.

RGPargy · 13/03/2009 22:15

SAme here Febes. I think at the moment we have very patient babies, although DD does sign "milk" to me when we're upstairs, but she is happy to wait a little while.

Loopy - I love Sid too, I don't know whay they made big fun time start at 3.30 when it used to start at 3! I'm not have issues with early mornings, but William is going through a phase of being awake for a good 2 hours in the night at the mo. We can't leave him in his cot as he screams and wakes DD so he comes into our room where he thinks it's playtime. On Thursday he was awake between 12 and 3 , not good when my alarm goes off at 6 as it's a work day!

Greedy - does Adam still feed during the day? William has knocked those on the head now, but still wants his night feeds. Like you, some people suggest I've made a rod for my own back by feeding him, but it does settle him faster than anything else. Glad you have had a good night, do you think it might continue?

LOM - loved your comment to your year 10 pupil . Our lot don't get TB jabs in school any more so I won't get to use that line!

Febes - you'll be bf again soon though!

RG - when we were TTC William my period was late as I really wanted to be pregnant. The body does strange things!

Did anyone watch comic relief last night? I sobbed at the piece Davina did about maternal mortality rates, it was just heartbreaking. Makes you realise how lucky we are in this country.

Greedygirl · 14/03/2009 20:12

Jetgirl - Adam does still feed during the day given half a chance but he can be easily distracted and I am trying to keep it to morning and night now. He has had a few nights of sleeping through till 4/5 then into our bed until 7 - I can cope with that fine, long may it continue! I cried lots at Comic Relief and got all misty eyed about the NHS.

Loopy - with you on the laziness thing, I think half the reason he has continued to feed for so long is that his mum loves to sit down and have a good read every night at bedtime! LO re DD's method of asking for milk - it has a certain charm!

RG - your body obviously just sounding you out! Has your DH come around to the idea in a year or so now?

LOM - I wish I thought of witty things to say to the students, I am normally so gobsmacked with the things that they come out with. The other day one of my learners was late and when I asked her why she said that she was having a seriously bad hair day and couldn't get her parting right! She was right, it looked crap (bitchy emoticon - my hair looks crap every day, I just wash and go now)!

I am starving and waiting for my friend to turn up so we can order a chinese. Have a good night everyone.

Loopy- Bit of a daredevil then?? Anabel is a bit wimpy with heights which is a good thing at this point I think. At least she waits for me to help her I don't think I could cope with her hurtling down things at this point.
She slept 3 hours on sat afternoon and nearly 4 hours on sunday, we had to wake her at 4pm both days so she would sleep again at night, as well as doing 12 hours+ through the night. It must be the fresh spring air.

RGPargy · 16/03/2009 20:58

Greedy - nope, 'fraid not! He's keeps telling me that he has "no desire to have another baby because he is perfectly happy with just the one". Not sure if it's because he's been an only child and i haven't.... ?

Loopy - DD3 isn't scared then! Ellie seemed to fall in love with the slide in the play group today. She climbed up and then just launched herself off the slide in a backwards superman!!

Febes - you lucky thing re the sleep!! DD has not been sleeping through the night for the last few nights and it's driving me crazy! It normally just starts off with her losing her dummy so then when i give it back to her, she cries merry hell if i leave her room again! Cue mum standing in Ellie's room in the dark trying not to fall asleep standing up until Ellie is asleep again (and dont even get me started on the squeaky door handle!!!!!). Think she's teething at the moment as she has two teeth just about to burst through her little gums, poor lamb.

Happy mother's day everyone!

RG - my DH is the same and he is one of three! Think he (my DH) is just stuck in his ways the old fart!

Loopy - my DS had a terrible week for scrapes and bumps last week and one day clocked up four bruises on his head and every time I was more and more !! Felt awful but his legs haven't caught up with his brain yet.

On the plus side DS is currently eating like a horse and sleeping most of the night. My lovely friend has lent me loads of garden toys/swings etc which has saved me a fortune and he loves being outside.

Slow cook lamb in the oven and a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge - yummy! Got a birdbath for mother's day - don't ask!

Febes · 22/03/2009 18:08

Happy Mothers day!!! I had a lovely home made card from Anabel and the childminder and DH made me breakfast in bed which was a treat. Then DH and Anabel went off to the tip to get some compost while I had a bath. We then spent the day in the garden, me sitting in the sun and directing DH and doing about half an hour of weeding, DH pruning, replanting, mowing and tidying and Anabel eating bulbs and dirt and snails!!! She had great fun and then we had a BBQ lunch.

littleoldme · 22/03/2009 19:34

Just bookmarking - it was my pasta recipe. Gladd it's going down well- we had it this week too.
T bought nme some flowers and a bottle of whisky for mother's day. good boy!

Hi everyone

Greedy - glad i'm not the only one with a stubborn DP/DH! Toys/swings for the garden sounds like a fab idea! DD loves being outside in the garden - she'd be in heaven!

Febes - sounds like you had a fab Mother's Day! Good for you!

LOM - T is a very good boy for buying you flowers AND whisky!!

Well, i have to admit that i'm STILL suffering from an horrendous hangover that i acquired after a fast but deadly drinking session on SAturday night. My friend who i haven't seen for 2 years came to stay on Saturday and we hit the pub pretty hard. I am very embarrassed to say that i was sick in a bucket and everything!! Honestly, you'd think i was 21, not 41!! I think the culprit was drinking wine on an empty stomach. I knew it was a recipe for disaster but i still went ahead and did it anyway! Hopefully i'll be on top form by tomorrow. I'm just soooo tired!!

Febes · 24/03/2009 20:13

I'm going carbooting this weekend to try and find some outdoor stuff for Anabel to play on while I work on my tan this summer .
