Anabel has had 2 nights in her new room and its going great both days she has woken up and played in her cot until we fetched her at 7.30am. When she was in our room she would wake up and then stand up and cry to be picked up probably because she could see us in bed. I still need to find curtains but I got a blackout blind from ikea which is perfect so that will do for now.
Sun is shinning here and DH is off for the first time in ages on the weekend so we are going to have a nice family day.

Febes · 08/03/2009 19:35

By the way I have just booked 3 treatments at a spa as DH got me a 'spa day' for my birthday in December. So on Sunday I have a facial, neck, back and head massage and a pedicure booked. I can't wait!!!!

jetgirl · 08/03/2009 21:24

Febes- enjoy your spa day, sounds heavenly! Glad Anabel is enjoying her room.

RG - Ellie sounds normal to me. William still doesn't care about what other children are doing around him, but DD (who's 3) is much more wary of children she doesn't know for a good 15 minutes before she'll interact with them. She can be very clingy until then. Having said that, she got really upset when I dropped her off at nursery on Friday as I had to go into work in the afternoon and her keyperson had to prise her off me in the end and give her lots of cuddles. William on the other hand barely gave me a second glance! DD used to be like William, she's just more wary of the unknown, which i suppose isn't necessarily a bad thing

Loopy - the jabs were fine, a few tears were shed at the 2nd one (both me and DD!) as DD was wise to what was happening then, but the nurse who did them was absolutely brilliant with her. We wen tout for cake and a drink afterwards and DD had forgotten all about it by then. No more for her now until she's a teenager!

RGPargy · 08/03/2009 23:40

Febes - well done Anabel! Your spa day sounds lovely! The girls at work keep telling me to have a massage but so far i've not really seen what all the fuss is about! (i've never had one lol).

Jet - Phew. I'm getting to think that she is just being "normal" but in a sensitive way lol. I was telling my friend about my episode today and when i told her i'd said to DD "will you STOP IT!" in a harsh tone, she did a small gasp and said "really?!!". Now i feel bad again lol.

Just when i thought it was safe and we were getting a normal bedtime routine going again, DD goes and gets a cold and has had us awake at stupid times during the night for the last few nights again! We're beginning to wonder what a peaceful night is these days!

Oh ps, I'm 3 days "late". Should i start to worry yet??

Febes · 09/03/2009 09:16

Oh RG do a test!!!! How exciting have you been trying???

RGPargy · 09/03/2009 09:51

Gonna buy a test today and see what that says. No we've not been trying - quite the opposite! Had it been a year later i would be quite excited but if i am, then i'm not quite sure how i'm going to cope with a baby and a 2 year old....

RGPargy · 09/03/2009 16:15

It was negative. I'm both and about it. However if TOM doesn't appear by the end of the week, i'll do another test.

Febes · 09/03/2009 20:02

Maybe this is a sign to start trying then

jetgirl · 09/03/2009 20:50

RG - Please don't feel like a bad mummy, i have said/shouted 'Will you just stop it' at William several times - usually when he's being a pest and has given me a very bad night's sleep to boot. I usually end up giving him lots of cuddles and a biscuit to compensate! DD gets it a fair bit too when she is particularly naughty/defiant. Sometimes they just know which buttons to press.

Febes - good advice

Febes · 09/03/2009 21:01

I said to Anabel the other day when she was yelling and crying out for stuff
'Use your words and stop shouting at Mummy!!'
She doesn't have any words.

littleoldme · 09/03/2009 22:15

RG - keep us posted...
Don't worry about getting annoyed with Ellie. You are only human. Anyway, who said we all had to perfect all the time. I think there's lots to be said for being good enough.

Febes - Enjoy the spa. Sounds wonderful.

We went out on Saturday. I went to get something from the ccar; when I came back T was holding on to DH's little finger and toddling along most determinedly. They looked so cute together my heart just melted.

T is being very amusing at the mo. If I ask if he wants something and he doesn't he says, " No no," He sounds like the old bloke off the Vicar off Dibley. If he does want it he just thrusts his hand forward - no manners!

he's now saying toast, shoes, book, ball and a few other very random words. I guess they are all important things in his life or something

Ladies, you have really made me giggle - thank you!!

I did the other test this morning (it was a twin pack) and that was negative too. Dunno WTF is going on there then! I have been wondering if that's made DP think that there's no way on earth he wants another or whether he thinks that it's a shame the test was negative and perhaps he'd like another one after all..... In any event, he has surprised me at how supportive he's been about it all, bless him.

As for words (Febes? ), Ellie has now taken to saying "poosh" for spoon and "oosh" for shoes lol. Sounds like she's saying them backwards! The other day i thought she was saying "mummy" really really clearly. Tonight i think she was actually saying "yummy" as she was saying it whilst eating some of our stir fry and after we were saying "yummy!" to her. Buggerations lol.

Think i'll do another test at the weekend if still no joy (or not? ) on the TOM front.

Not sure what else could cause TOM to be late?! Any ideas?

littleoldme · 11/03/2009 10:22

RG- Maybe you late beacuse you really want to be PG ?

DH and had an accident once and I was convinced I was pg. It's the only time I've been a week late. I'm sure it was because it was so much on mind.

TOM ???

Hiya
Loopy - 6 o'clock starts are a tradition here and a couple of night wakenings is also the norm at the mo (need a knackered emoticon). Everyone keeps saying I have made a rod for my own back by still feeding him but when I get up at 3 and I have work the next day it seems like the best/easiest thing. So you are not alone.

RG - hormones are a funny thing, I was once two weeks late and very, very concerned as I didn't want to be preggers at that point in my life and then I got my period and back to normal. Bizarre. Have you been mega stressed recently, that is meant to affect your cycle?

LOM - good trick with the grapes! Adam is also saying random words, ball, tea (this covers most food items from breast milk to biscuits), Daddy and Bob (as in the Builder). And when he has finished his food he shows me the palms of his hands and says "done!". They are so cute. I love it!

I don't know how I do it either ! But (trumpet sound effects) he slept through until 5.30 this morning and then after a quick feed slept until 7.45!!

littleoldme · 12/03/2009 19:42

Greedy - That's fab. What a fantastic lie in for you. Oh and I'm with Loopy - hats off re still feeding.

loopy - I know what you mean. I hate getting out of bed early but once I'm up I really enjoy the peace. I've just bought T a gorgeoues fluffy dressing gown ( 3.50 off e-bay jasper conran if you please ) so he can be cosy in the early morning without having to suffer the trauma of getting dressed.

We had a parents' consulation yesterday; a child protetion issue came up. I can't seen to rid myself of feeling disturbed

On alighter note; Year 10 had their TB jabs last week. My very naughty bottom set came back telling me that they couldn't work as their arms were too sore. I enquired of one them if the injection really hurt or if he just felt a little prick. I was pleased with that.
